Indeed, given the direction of rotation of the blanket cylinder 2, part of the ink is transferred by the cylinders 3 and 4 onto the typographic plate 5a of the plate cylinder 5 while the rest of the ink is transferred in perfect register directly on the plate cylinder 5.

  • the printing plates 8b and 18b are offset plates, in particular typographic plates such as used in the dry offset, and represent partial drawings which are inked, as in the previous case, by inking devices 9 and 19.

  • Such an arrangement with eccentric is well known for adjusting the pressure setting and for separating two cylinders if the machine is not in operation, the assembly being such that by turning the eccentric the axis of the cylinder moves. Therefore, for this spacing, the invention uses means which are already known in existing machines. When two cylinders are separated, the distance between them is very minimal, only one or a few mm, the distance illustrated in the figures being greatly exaggerated.
