Definitions
- the invention relates to a collar made of absorbent material, which can be closed at the end by means of connecting means, such as connecting loops or the like, on the neck side for protecting the clothing and the body of a baby from dirt and saliva wetting.
- children's bibs are known, which are made of fabric or plastic and are tied around the neck of the child when eating. In particular, they cover the breast area of the baby, which experience shows that it is contaminated when the child eats food. Food residues in solid, pulp-like or liquid form stick to the child's bib or, in the case of plastic bibs, also migrate into a pocket attached to the lower hem, following gravity. After eating, this bib is removed and cleaned.
- Relieving a child's bib does not bring any relief, since this bib is placed far too low to catch the saliva flowing out of the mouth. Rather, the saliva will run down the chin and neck or drip directly onto the baby's laundry, even if such a bib is tied. Such a bib can only be used to wipe the saliva from the child's chin at short intervals if it is made of absorbent material.
- the Canadian patent 10 10 602 deals with a similar problem, namely with the patients suffering from abnormal salivation.
- a device is proposed that has a small trough that is attached to a band that wraps around the neck below the chin.
- Adults, as well as children, can make sure that the saliva flow actually ends up in this trough, which is possible because this group of people walks or sits upright and does not lie like a baby for the most part.
- This device is therefore not suitable for protecting a baby from saliva wetting.
- the object of the invention is to provide a possibility of how this constant salivation of a baby can be absorbed in such a way that it neither leads to soreness nor to wetting the laundry and thus also no longer leads to colds.
- a collar made of absorbent material which can be closed at the end by means of connecting means, such as connecting loops or the like, on the neck side to protect the clothing and the body of a baby against pollution, in particular saliva wetting, formed by a band which lies in the chin side Middle part is widened and / or thickened.
- Such a collar band lies with its broadened or thickened middle part, it is attached like a collar to the child's neck, under the chin area and thus prevents the saliva from flowing further down the chin and along the neck onto the child's body. This applies both to a lying, as well as a sitting or standing child and of course also for a child who is carried in the arm. This surely prevents the baby's sensitive skin from getting sore, as well as soaking the baby's clothing and the associated risk of catching a cold.
- the collar band does not cover large parts of the upper body after the innovation, but only the front neck or the lower chin area. It is therefore preferably only between 20 and 60 millimeters long and, depending on the material, between 2 and 50 millimeters thick. Thick cellulose collar tapes, which can also be designed as single-use items, have proven particularly advantageous. If the collar band according to the invention is to remain usable over a longer period of time, it is expediently produced from absorbent terry cloth.
- the underside of the collar to coat the tape with water-impermeable material, i.e. to attach a plastic film or a thin layer of plastic foam to this area.
- the connecting means can be chosen almost any way, from simple connecting loops over rubber strips, push buttons made of plastic or metal to Velcro or adhesive strips.
- connecting means 3, 13, 23, 33, 43 are provided at the end, on the one hand as a simple loop 3 (FIG. 5), as a snap fastener 13 (FIGS. 2 and 6), as a Velcro fastener 23 (Fig. 1), as a hook fastener 33 (Fig. 7) or as an eyelet fastener 43 (Fig. 8).
- a child's bib 4 can also be tied around the child's neck below the collar band 1, especially when the baby is eating. 3 and 4, the different attachment of these items of clothing is clearly shown.
- the collar band can be shaped differently after the innovation and can also be made of different materials. In any case, if it is correctly placed underneath the child's chin, it will absorb the constant flow of saliva, thus avoiding the soaking of the laundry with the unpleasant consequences, as well as the wounding of the sensitive skin.

Description
- Fig. 1 Ein Kragenband in geöffnetem und
- Fig. 2 in geschlossenem Zustand.
- Fig. 3 Ein dem Baby umgelegtes Kragenband in Seitenansicht und
- Fig. 4 in Draufsicht.
- Fig. 5 bis
- Fig. 8 verschiedene Ausführungs und Verbindungs möglichkeiten.
