Description

2339524 Roll-Neck Bib & Sleeve-Say-ers DESCRI[PTION The invention relates
to a babys'bib, an item used to protect a babys! clothes and skin from food and drink during mealtimes. The invention also incorporates accompanying items to protect the babys' arms and sleeves ftom food and drink.
There are many bibs available on the market, some offering more protection than others, some seemingly designed to offer more novelty/aesthetic appeal than practical functionablility. Current bibs have insufficient protection around the neck area due to an inability to give a snug yet comfortable fit; therefore allowing food and drink to dribble down and around the babys' chin and neck, gathering in the folds of the skin to cause discomfort and at worse soreness as well as wetting the clothes beneath the bib. Babies also tend to mess their cuffs and sleeves during mealtimes through wiping their arms in the spHt food and drink.
There is no satisfactory and simple solution to these problems available. The object of this invention is to provide a bib which successfully protects the neck and chest area of a babys' skin and clothes and with the aid of the optional accompanying and complimentary items, to protect the arms and sleeves of the babys' clothes, In summary, this invention provides a bib incorporating a neck-piece which solves the problem of food and drink coming into contact with the skin and clothes in the area of the babys' neck and chest. The neck-piece is a long absorbent 'roll' or 'tube' shape (although the tube could be any suitable shape such as hexagonal) and fits snugly and comfortably against the babys' neck under the chin, fastening securely using an adjustable device such as Velef F-Ir i2s forming a barrier and soaking up any liquid and catching any food before it comes intb contact with the babys' neck and clothes. The bib also has an optional pocket which collects fallen crumbs and liquid. The accompanying Sleeve-Savers similarly form a barrier and soak up any liquid before it can come into contact with babys'arms or sleeves. These Sleeve-Savers are pieces of absorbent material which wrap around the babys' arms to cover from the wrist to the elbow, fastening securely with any suitable adjustable device such as velcro.
The Roll-Neck Bib and Sleeve-Savers are made from a sufficiently absorbent material, for example towelling. They may incorporate the use of sponge and/or plastic film or any other appropriate materials. ihe bib can be fastened at the neck using any suitable option such as Velcro, ribbon or press-studs. The Sleeve-Saver can be fastened around the babysarms using any appropriate fastener or elastic.
I A Roll Neck Bib is an invention which provides a bib incorporating a neck-piece which solves the problem of a babys! neck area (skin and clothing) becoming wet and/or dirty from food and drink during meal and snack times.
The neck-piece is an absorbent long roH or tube shape (although this may be of another appropriate shape such as hexagonal) and fits snugly and comfortably against the babys' neck under the chin thus forming a barrier and soaking up any liquid and catching any food before it comes into contact with the babys neck or clothes.
2 The Sleeve-Savers are an invention to compliment the Roll-Neck Bib and protect the babys arms from food and drink by covering them during meal times so protecting the babys' skin and the sleeves of the babys, clothes.
The Sleeve-Savers are pieces of any appropriate absorbent material, preferably matching and aesthetically complimenting the Roll-Neck Bib. They are of a sufficient size to cover the babys'arms from wrist to elbow and wrap around the arm to enable a secure fastening with any appropriate fastening device. The wrist end is folded over to give more absorbency.
13 A preferred embodiment of the invention will now be described with reference to the drawing showing:
Fig. 1 shows a front view of the bib incorporating the roll neck a, this fastens at the back or side of the neck, and the pocket b to catch food and drink.
Fig 2 shows the Sleeve-Saver showing the fabric folded over at the wrist end c and the position of fastening d (although this could vary and there may be more than one fastener).
Fig 3 shows the Sleeve- Saver around the babys arm.
