Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a multi-sheet printed product consisting of at least two folded sheets lying one inside the other and to a method for producing such printed products.
  • the present invention is based on the object of creating a printed product of the type mentioned at the outset, which can be easily opened in the middle in a simple manner without the measures required for this being carried out at considerable additional costs, e.g. as a result of large material losses or impairment of the appearance of the finished printed product.
  • the edge section of the innermost sheet protruding over the remaining sheets allows the product to be opened in the middle without difficulty.
  • This protruding edge section can e.g. can be obtained by making the innermost sheet longer in the folding direction or transverse to it than the remaining sheets.
  • This protruding edge section is cut away at the end.
  • the associated loss of material is now considerably less than in the conventional product mentioned above, in which an edge section is cut off not only on one sheet, but on half of all sheets of the printed product.
  • a conventional, multi-sheet printed product 1 is shown in the open (FIG. 3) and closed state (FIGS. 1 and 2).
  • this printed product consists of three interleaved, eccentrically folded printed sheets 2.
  • the fold line by which two pages 4 and 5 are separated is designated by 3.
  • Suitable opening devices for opening the printed product 1 in the middle can act on this above section 5 in a known manner.
  • the above sections 6 are cut away as waste. Since on all sides 5 of the printed product 1 a strip of material in the If the size of the above section 6 is cut away, the material loss is very considerable, especially in those companies with a large production of printed products 1.
  • FIGS. 1-3 shows a first embodiment of a printed product 7 according to the invention, which can be opened in the middle without difficulty, but in which the material loss is considerably less than in the conventional printed product 1 according to FIGS. 1-3.
  • This printed product 7 is formed by three interleaved printed sheets 8, 8 'and 8 ", all of which are folded in the middle along a fold line 9.
  • This fold line 9 separates each sheet 8, 8' and 8" into two sides 10 and 11
  • the innermost sheet 8 ′′, measured in the direction of the fold line 9, is longer by an edge section 12 than the two remaining sheets 8 and 8 ′.
  • the height of the sheets 8, 8 is H and H ′ in FIGS. 4 and 5, respectively 'or 8 ". 4, the sheets 8 and 8 'are shown lying one on top of the other, while in FIG.
  • the protruding edge section 12 is cut away.
  • the loss of material that occurs in this case is considerably less, especially in the case of printed products with many pages, than in the conventional printed product 1 according to FIGS. 1-3.
  • a turning device 17 which is also of a type known per se.
  • the strand 14 is printed with the information of the outermost sheet 8, the strand 15 with the information of the middle sheet 8 'and the strand 16 with the information of the innermost sheet 8 ".
  • the strands 14 and 15 have the same width B, while the strand 16 has a width B 'which is greater by the width of an edge strip 18 than the width B of the strands 14 and 15.
  • This edge strip 18 becomes the edge section 12 of the innermost printed sheet 8 ".
  • the strands 14, 15, 16 are each guided over a turning bar 19, 20 or 21 of the turning device 17.
  • the strands 14, 15, 16 running side by side towards the turning device 17 are brought one above the other such that the side edges 14a, 15a and 16a of these strands are aligned.
  • the strand 14 lies at the bottom, while the strand 16 is arranged at the top, so that one side 16 ′ is exposed.
  • the top strand 16 protrudes on the side edge 16b around the edge strip 18 over the strands 14 and 15 underneath.
  • the strands 14, 15 and 16 brought one above the other pass through a cutting device 22, which is only shown schematically and is likewise of a known type.
  • this cutting device 22 By means of this cutting device 22, the strands are cut in a direction running at right angles to their side edges 14a, 15a and 16a or 14b, 15b, 16b.
  • the section line is designated 23 in FIG. 8.
  • the strands 14, 15, 16 are thus divided into individual packs of sheets 8, 8 ', 8 "lying one above the other by means of this cutting device 22.
  • FIGS. 9-12 A second embodiment of a printed product 25 according to the invention will now be described with reference to FIGS. 9-12.
  • This printed product 25 also consists of three printed sheets 26, 26 ', 26 "lying one inside the other, which are folded along a centrally arranged fold line 27.
  • the fold lines 26, 26', 26" are divided into two pages 28 and 29 by this fold line 27.
  • the sheets 26, 26 ', 26 "have the same dimensions. That is to say, in particular, that all three sheets have the same height H.
  • the innermost sheet 26" is in the direction of the fold line 9 compared to the the other two, themselves opaque sheets 26 and 26 'offset by the amount a and a' respectively. The result of this is that the innermost sheet 26 "protrudes with an edge portion 31 on a side edge 30 adjoining the fold line 27. The innermost sheet 26" is accordingly set back by the dimension a 'on the opposite side edge 32.
  • the protruding sheet 26 After completion of the product 25 by inlays, the protruding sheet 26 "is now pushed back in the direction of the fold line 27 until its side edges are aligned with those of the other sheets 26 and 26 '. Since the finished product no longer has a protruding edge section which is cut away loss of material is completely avoided with a printed product 25 according to FIGS. 9-12.
  • a turning device 36 which has a turning bar 37, 38 and 39 for each strand.
  • the three strands 33, 34, 35 have the same width B.
  • the strand 33 is printed with the information of the outermost sheet 26 of the printed product 25, while the strand 34 with the information of the middle sheet 26 'and the strand 35 with the information of the innermost Sheet 26 "is printed.
  • the turning rods 37, 38, 39 bring the strands 33, 34, 35 running over them into a mutual position in which they no longer lie next to one another but one above the other.
  • the strand 33 is at the bottom and the strand 35 is exposed with a side 35 'at the top. Since the turning bar 39 is offset in the direction of arrow A by the amount a "in relation to the other two turning bars 37 and 38, the top bar 35 is a corresponding one Amount a laterally offset from the other two strands 33 and 34. Thus, while the longitudinal edges 33a, 34a and 33b and 34b of the strands 33 and 34 are aligned with one another, the longitudinal edges 35a and 35b of the strand 35 are offset from the corresponding longitudinal edges of the strands 33 and 34 by the amount a and a ', respectively. The strand 35 now projects with an edge strip 40 over the other two strands 33 and 34.
  • the strands 33, 34 and 35 lying one above the other in the manner described are fed to a cutting device 41, which is only shown schematically and is of a known type.
  • the strands are cut together along a cut line 42, indicated by dashed lines, which runs at right angles to the longitudinal edges 33a, 34a and 35a of the strands 33, 34, 35.
  • a cut line 42 indicated by dashed lines, which runs at right angles to the longitudinal edges 33a, 34a and 35a of the strands 33, 34, 35.
  • printed products 25 can also be produced in the manner described with reference to FIG. 13, which consist of only two sheets or more than three sheets.
  • the innermost sheet 8 "or 26" protrudes on one side 13b or 30 above the remaining sheets, which adjoins the folded edge 9 or 27.
  • the innermost sheet protrude on the side opposite this fold edge 9 or 27 and parallel to the fold edge.
  • the innermost sheet is made wider in the direction transverse to the fold line by a protruding edge strip than the other sheets, in analogy to the printed product shown in FIGS. 4-7, such a printed product can essentially be reduced to that shown in FIG 8 shown in the manner shown, but the folding of the sheets does not have to take place transversely to the projecting edge section as shown in FIG.
  • a protrusion of the innermost sheet on the side opposite the fold edge can also be achieved in a similar manner to the printed product according to FIGS. 11 and 12 in that the innermost sheet is displaced in the direction transverse to the fold line with respect to the other sheets.
  • the fold line of the innermost sheet then runs at a distance corresponding to the offset from the fold lines of the other sheets.
