Definitions
- the invention relates to a high-temperature protective layer according to the preamble of patent claim 1.
- Such temperature protection layers are used above all where the base material of components made of heat-resistant steels and / or alloys that are used at temperatures above 600 ° C. is to be protected. These high-temperature protective layers are intended to slow down the effect of high-temperature corrosion, especially of sulfur and oil ash.
- the high temperature protective layers are applied directly to the base material of the component. Such high-temperature protective layers are of particular importance for components of gas turbines. They are mostly on run and Guide vanes and on heat accumulation segments of gas turbines. An austenitic material based on nickel, cobalt or iron is preferably used to manufacture these components. In the manufacture of gas turbine components, nickel superalloys in particular are used as the base material.
- the high-temperature protective layers to be applied preferably consist of alloys containing anomalies.
- the protective layer consists of a matrix which contains 40 to 60% by weight of nickel, 15 to 30% by weight of chromium and 3 to 6% by weight of boron.
- the weight specifications relate to the total weight of the matrix.
- the protective effect of this high-temperature protective layer is based on the fact that, in the event of a corrosion attack, corrosion products form in the form of cover layers which are corrosion-resistant and cover the surface uniformly, homogeneously, tightly and permanently, so that in particular the base material of the components is protected against further corrosion attacks.
- cover layers which mainly contain chromium oxide, are chemically and mechanically well compatible with the protective layer and are insensitive to shock-like thermal and / or mechanical stress.
- a disadvantage is that the chromium-containing covering layer at temperatures that are above 900 0 C is evaporated, in this described at the outset, however, high-temperature protective layer. This leads to rapid consumption, particularly at the temperatures mentioned above the applied high temperature protective layer.
- the invention is therefore based on the object of providing a high-temperature protective layer in such a way that wear and tear thereof at temperatures which are above 900 ° C. is permanently prevented.
- the silicon content of the alloy is limited compared to the already known high-temperature protective layers based on chromium, silicon, boron, iron and nickel. In particular, the silicon content must not exceed 3.2% by weight.
- the weight specification refers to the total weight of the alloy. However, the silicon content should not fall below 1.1% by weight.
- a special composition of the alloy according to the invention consists of 17.2 to 17.8% by weight of chromium, 4 to 5.1% by weight of aluminum, 1.1 to 3.2% by weight of silicon, 4.5% by weight of iron , 3.5 wt.% Boron.
- the rest of the alloy consists of nickel.
- the addition of aluminum to the alloy forming the high-temperature protective layer ensures that the aluminum diffuses to the surface of the protective layer under operating conditions in which the high-temperature protective layer is thermally stressed. There bil det the aluminum with the oxygen-containing atmosphere, an aluminum - oxide overlay. This cover layer is resistant to high temperature corrosion. Evaporation of this aluminum oxide top layer at temperatures that are higher than 900 ° C cannot be determined here.
- the actual high-temperature protective layer is protected from rapid consumption by the aluminum oxide cover layer according to the invention and can thus permanently contribute to the protection of the actual component.
- the formation of the aluminum oxide cover layer is favored by the limitation of the silicon content.
- an aluminum oxide cover layer can also be improved by doping the alloy with titanium. If the alloy is additionally doped with titanium, it is not necessary to limit the silicon content within the alloy to an amount which is less than 3.5% by weight.
- An alloy doped with titanium preferably has the following composition: 2 to 6% by weight of titanium, 5 to 5.5% by weight of aluminum, 1.1 to 4.5% by weight, silicon, 16.5 to 17.5% by weight % Chromium, 4.5% by weight iron, 3.5% by weight boron. The rest of the alloy is formed by nickel. The stated weight refers to the total weight of the alloy.
- the invention is explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment which describes the production of a coated gas turbine component.
- the component which is particularly exposed to the effects of hot gases is provided with the high-temperature protective layer according to the invention.
- the component is coated using the plasma spraying process.
- the basic material of the component to be coated is here described embodiment, a nickel super alloy, in particular IN 738.
- the powder forming the high-temperature protective layer consists of 17.2% by weight chromium, 4.0% by weight aluminum, 3% by weight silicon, 4.5% by weight iron and 3.5% by weight % Boron.
- the rest of the alloy consists of nickel.
- the stated weight refers to the total weight of the alloy.
- the aluminum which contains the alloy as an additive, can be mechanically admixed with the other metals or metal compounds forming the alloy in the production of the powder.
- the component is cleaned and degreased using chemical and / or mechanical means. All areas not to be coated are then covered. Sheet metal or graphite covers can be used for this. Then all areas to be coated are mechanically roughened.
- the powder forming the high-temperature protective layer is applied by means of plasma spraying.
- the high-temperature protective layer is applied directly to the base material of the component. Argon is used as the plasma gas in an amount of about 1.2 Nm3 / h.
- the plasma current is 480 amps, the applied voltage is 60 volts.
- the component is subjected to a heat treatment. This takes place in a high vacuum annealing furnace. In it, a pressure is obtained p upright, of less than 5 x 10- 4 Torr. After reaching the vacuum, the furnace is heated to a temperature of 1080 0 to 1140 0 C. At this temperature, the high-temperature protective layer will at least partially self-flow. This closes their pores. In addition, the layer material diffuses into the base material of the component. When plasma spraying the layer material itself is only mechanically connected to the base material. The above temperature is held for about an hour with a tolerance of about plus / minus 40 ° C. The heating of the furnace is then switched off. The coated, heat-treated component then slowly cools down in the furnace.

Abstract
