Description

The invention relates to a cabinet with a sliding door according to the features of the preamble of claim 1.

From DE-A 2 700 648 a cabinet with two sliding doors is known, which are provided with profile rails in the area of their lower edges. At the two ends of each rail, grips are arranged, in each of which a roller is rotatably mounted about an axis. The rollers and the profile rails mentioned are located below the mirror doors and are practically completely visible to a viewer of the cabinet. The bottom rail is designed as a hollow box section only in the area of the interior, and it has an approximately L-shaped leg below the sliding doors. In the leg mentioned, an additional track is used for the sliding doors, which requires an additional manufacturing effort. Furthermore, additional measures must be taken to ensure that the leg projecting horizontally from the floor rail is not bent downwards when the cabinet is used, which would jeopardize the overall functionality of the cabinet.

From US-A 3 490 824 a cabinet is known, the sliding doors on the back have the rollers for storage in a floor rail. The rollers are attached to the back of the sliding doors by means of bearing blocks that are approximately U-shaped in cross section. The bottom rail consists of several parts and is designed in the area of the interior as a bottom plate, to which an approximately U-shaped rail of the front frame of the cabinet is connected in cross section. In the last-mentioned rail of the frame, another rail with arch-like ribs is inserted, on which the guide rollers run. The production of such a bottom rail requires a not inconsiderable effort, and the necessary rigidity must also be ensured by appropriate material thicknesses and thus a high weight.

Furthermore, a glass sliding door is known from US-A 3 425163, which consists of two spaced-apart insulating glass panes. The guide rollers are arranged between the two glass panes in an approximately U-shaped profile rail, on the lower lugs of which the glass panes rest. The bottom rail is essentially L-shaped, the stability requirements having to be met by correspondingly high material thicknesses.

A 1 020 792 shows an arrangement whose sliding doors have profiles at the lower end for fastening guide rollers. For the guide rollers, the sliding door and also the profile rail must have suitable recesses, the manufacture of which requires additional work steps during manufacture. The profile rail grips around the lower edge of the sliding door with its two legs pointing upwards and covers it to this extent.

The invention has for its object to develop a cabinet of the type mentioned with low manufacturing and cost in that on the one hand reliable guidance of the sliding door and high stability is given, and on the other hand the free visibility of the sliding door by other components as little as possible becomes.

This object is achieved by the features specified in the characterizing part of patent claim 1.

The cabinet according to the invention is characterized by a simple and inexpensive construction, the sliding door, which is designed in particular as a mirror door, being practically visible in its entire size, since the profiled rails together with rollers are arranged on the back. The mounting of the profile rail on the sliding door can be done with little assembly effort, especially since the profile rail provides an exact alignment and support on the sliding door. The bottom rail, which is designed as a hollow box section across its entire width, is extremely stable and torsionally stiff, with a comparatively low use of material, which ensures good and smooth guidance of the sliding door for a long service life of the cabinet. Below the sliding door, the bottom rail is relatively narrow and changes to a wider cross-section via the extension behind the sliding doors. The cross-section of the floor rail which is stepped in this way results in a high degree of stability, although, due to the narrow design in the area below the sliding doors, the floor rail does not conceal the same. The predetermined small distance between the lower edge of the sliding door and the surface of the floor rail enables a relatively large visible surface of the sliding door. Neither the lower profile rail nor gaps or the like are disturbing to an observer.

In a special embodiment, the front end of the shoulder of the profile rail is flush with the front surface of the sliding door. There is a comparatively large bearing surface for the sliding door and, in addition, continuous protection of the sliding door from possible damage is achieved.

In a special embodiment, the profile rail is provided only in the region of the lower edge of the sliding door, the axes of the rollers being arranged above the lower edge. The distance between the lower edge of the sliding door and the surface floor rail can be kept small, and the roller diameter can easily be specified according to requirements.

In a further development is between the vertical wall of the profile rail and the sliding door a connecting element is arranged to establish a simple and reliable connection between the sliding door and the rail. If the vertical wall of the profile rail is provided with an extension extension above an essentially horizontal connecting web, an improved alignment of the profile rail and sliding door and also a secure connection is achieved.

The invention is explained below with reference to the embodiment shown in the drawing. Show it :
  • FIG. 1 shows a section through a cabinet, the middle parts of which are not shown,
  • Figure 2 enlarged a partial section of the floor rail and a profile rail.

The mirror cabinet shown in Figure 1 has two sliding doors 2, 4, which are designed as a mirror. The sliding doors 2, 4 are provided on their back 6, 8 in a known manner - not shown here - with a thin mirror layer and, moreover, consist of a transparent material, in particular glass. Profile rails 10, 12 are provided on the underside of the sliding doors 2, 4 and have a channel 14, 16 which is open at the bottom and extends in the longitudinal direction, that is to say perpendicular to the plane of the drawing. It is not necessary to emphasize that the sliding doors 2, 4 have such a spatial extension perpendicular to the plane of the drawing that the interior 18 can be completely closed by means of the sliding doors 2, 4. In the channels 14, 16, rollers 20, 22 are expediently provided at the respective lower ends of the sliding doors 2, 4, which roll on a bottom rail 24. The bottom rail 24 is designed as a hollow box profile and has guide means 26, 28 in the region of the sliding doors, which are designed as grooves in the surface 30 of the bottom rail 24. Behind the sliding door 2 or the profile rail 10, the bottom rail 24 has an upwardly directed shoulder 33. In the area of the sliding doors, the bottom rail is thus made relatively narrow, while in the rest, ie below the interior 18, it has a greater thickness; a floor rail designed in this way has a comparatively high stability even with a small wall thickness.

The rollers 20, 22 are located in the channels 14, 16 behind the sliding doors 2, 4 and thus outside or eccentric to the respective center of gravity of the sliding doors. Furthermore, according to the invention, the axes of rotation 24, 36 of the rollers 20, 22 are located above the lower edges 38, 40 of the sliding doors. It can be seen that, due to the eccentric arrangement and mounting of the sliding doors 2, these slide into the upper guide means 42, 44 in the region of the front edges 46, 48. The latter guide means are provided in a head rail 50 and are designed as channels. On the side walls of the upper guide means 42, 44 there are guide strips 52, 54, 56, 58, which are each designed as brushes. The dimensions of these guide means can be specified without difficulty according to the thickness of the sliding doors 2, 4, so that the sliding doors can be easily pushed back and forth between the guide rails.

Due to the eccentric arrangement of the sliding doors explained, they basically rest against the guide strips 54 and 58, which are located on the front sides 46, 48 of the upper guide means. Since these guide rails extend over the entire length of the head rail 50, a reliable seal is achieved.

The bottom rail 24 has an arcuate extension 74 in the region of the connection point with the rear wall 72. The above-mentioned extension 74 projects upward beyond the surface 76 of the floor rail facing the interior 18, so that overall a rounded transition takes place from the surface 76 via the curved extension 74 to the rear wall 72. A soft, continuous transition from the bottom rail to the rear wall 72 is achieved, so to speak, so that the accumulation of dirt in the area of the connection point is avoided or easy cleaning is made possible. In a corresponding manner, an arch-shaped extension 78 is also provided in the upper head rail 50, which protrudes beyond the surface 80 facing the interior 18. If the cabinet has on its two sides, that is to say parallel to the plane of the drawing, lateral rails, not shown here, which form a connection between the bottom rail and the head rail, these lateral rails are also provided in a corresponding manner with curved approaches. In the event that a middle separating rail is provided in the middle of the cabinet, that is to say in the middle between the lateral rails mentioned, for dividing the interior space 18, this rail is also provided with corresponding curved approaches in the context of this invention in order to round it off to maintain a continuous transition to the other components, i.e. the rear wall and / or the floor or head rails. It should be expressly pointed out that the arch-shaped approaches according to the invention give a particularly appealing overall visual impression of the cabinet or of the interior, since practically no sharp corners and edges can be seen and the individual rails or components merge seamlessly, so to speak. A contact surface 82 for the rear wall 72 adjoins the extension 74 of the base rail 24 described above. In a corresponding manner, a contact surface 84 adjoins the extension 78 of the head rail 50. It can be seen that a simple and reliable connection of the rear wall 72 is made possible by the abovementioned bearing surfaces 82, 84 and on corresponding bearing surfaces of the lateral profile rail. The contact surfaces 82, 84 extend in the direction facing away from the interior, so that screws or similar fastening elements, as indicated by the dash-dotted lines, are located outside of the interior 18.

The profile rail 10 has an extension 60 below the lower edge 40, on which the sliding door 2 expediently rests. The extension 60 is at a comparatively small distance 62 from the surface 30 of the bottom rail 24 and, as a result, a relatively good seal is also ensured in the region of the lower edge of the sliding door. It should also be borne in mind that by means of paragraph 32, not shown here, a labyrinth-like seal is practically achieved in the bottom rail.

It should be noted that the sliding door 4 (not shown in FIG. 2) is assigned to its profile rail in a corresponding manner, so that the explanations for the sliding door 2 also apply accordingly to the sliding door 4. The profiled rail 10 has a vertical wall 64 which is extended upward with an extension lug 68 via an essentially horizontal connecting web 66. A connecting element 70 in the form of an adhesive strip coated on both sides with adhesive is provided between the profile rail 10 or its wall 64 and the sliding door 2. The installation of the sliding door profile rail can thus be carried out in a simple manner very quickly and without any special effort.
