Drawers of the generic type with side frames made of metal are known per se.

In the previously known constructions, the side frames are provided at their respective lower edges with support legs which are angled towards the inside of the drawer and on which the respective drawer bottom is supported.

In order to secure the position of the drawer bottom, an attempt is made to fix it by means of fastening screws which pass through the support legs of the side frames from below.

This type of securing the position of a drawer bottom is quite labor intensive and therefore expensive.

In addition, it should be noted that such a position securing can only be used with comparatively thick drawer bottoms, since it is not possible to screw fastening screws into comparatively thin drawer bottoms.

The present innovation is based on the object of improving a drawer of the generic type in such a way that a simple and secure fixing of the drawer bottom, regardless of its thickness, is achieved. _,

According to the innovation, this object is achieved in that the means for supporting the drawer bathing consist of profile strips fastened to the side frames, which are each provided with receiving grooves open to the inside of the drawer, into which the bottom of the drawer engages in a form-fitting manner.

The use of easy-to-produce and inexpensive profile strips in a drawer of the new type gives the considerable advantage that the drawer bottom can be fixed without the use of screws.

Since the thickness of the drawer bottoms for such drawers is generally limited to two or three dimensions, the prefabrication of products with correspondingly wide receiving grooves, fillets are the cost-effective way of being able to fix all drawer bottoms correctly and positively.

The profile strips themselves can be made of metal as well as plastic, the production of profile strips made of plastic being particularly economical.

Drawers of the generic type are usually guided on rollers, the side frames being provided with correspondingly angled guide legs in their respective upper edge region for this purpose.

Since the profiled strips for supporting the drawer bottom are advantageously produced in a continuous casting or extrusion process, it is readily possible to provide these profiled strips with additional guide and / or retaining webs for roller or ball guides.

As a result, suitable guides for a modern drawer can be selected as required, depending on the application.
