Definitions

  • the invention relates to foot straps on windsurf boards, which are provided individually or in groups on the top surface of the windsurf board and consist of a section of a webbing which is connected at both ends to the top surface of the windsurf board, at least one end of the webbing by means of a device with the Windsurf board is connected, which has an axis holding the webbing, the device for releasing the foot strap being designed to be releasable in the opening direction and to be latched in the closing direction, and the triggering moment of the device is adjustable and furthermore the closing position of the device is latched by positive locking of a molded body and the molded body is biased by a spring element in the latching position with adjustable spring force.
  • Foot straps are well known and are widely used in the sport of windsurfing, especially jumping (Windsurfing magazine SURF August 1979, pages 32-34) and generally consist of a wide webbing, such as the size of seat belts in automobiles. To increase stiffness and padding, this webbing is usually covered with laminated neoprene, which is sewn together into a tube.
  • Known foot straps which are so large that you can slip in and out easily because you take different foot positions on different courses, are attached to the deck surface of the windsurf board in several places.
  • the classic arrangement here is that, for example, three loops are attached at approximately the same distance on the connecting line between the front edge of the fin and the end of the sword box, while on both sides of the sword box, at an opening angle of 45 °, V-shaped further pairs of such are arranged outwards Foot straps are attached.
  • the webbing is glued to the roughened board at both ends or additionally screwed by means of dowels or the like.
  • Known foot straps have the disadvantage that after the fastening of the belt strap forming the foot strap to the windsurf board, the size of the foot strap opening is fixed.
  • the main disadvantage of known foot straps is that if you fall, there is a possibility that you will not be able to get out of the loop quickly enough, since the foot can become jammed in the fall, which represents a considerable safety risk.
  • This disadvantage was avoided according to an earlier proposal by the applicant (cf. DE-A-2 945 235) in that the foot strap is connected at least at one end to the windsurfing board by means of a device which, in the manner of a safety binding, releases the foot when skiing In the event of a fall, this ensures that the footstrap opens when the overloading is adjustable.
  • the invention has for its object to provide the lightest and most robust foot strap of the type specified above.
  • this object is essentially achieved in that the axis is provided on a clip-like part, that the clip-like part is connected to the webbing, that a housing is provided and is firmly connected to the windsurf board that the housing has a rigidly attached holding axis, and that the clamp-like part engages over the holding axis from above under adjustable pretension and can be separated from the holding axis at the top.
  • the invention in particular creates a particularly simple and, what is of particular importance, light construction. Another advantage is that none of the parts of the fastening, which acts like a safety binding when skiing, can be lost after being released.
  • the clip-like part is designed as a plastic part with a slot or axis receiving the webbing, that the width of the clip-like part corresponds to the length of the holding axis and that a hole is provided which receives the holding axis and which provides a has a slot open at the bottom for the passage of the axle.
  • a further slot running parallel to the bore is provided on the upper side of the bore, a bore penetrating the slot being provided, a screw being arranged in the bore and screwed into an abutment in such a way that the spring element is adjustably biased against the outside of the bracket-like part.
  • a helical spring can be provided as the spring element, which surrounds the screw, however, leaf springs arranged on both sides of the clamp-like part are preferred.
  • the housing is preferably sunk flush with the top surface of the windsurf board.
  • the screw preferably has an enlarged head with knurling, the bore penetrating the slot being arranged such that in the installed position the knurling of the screw protrudes just above the surface of the deck or is at least accessible from it.
  • an adjusting wheel is arranged on the threaded portion of the screw for adjusting the prestressing of the spring elements and is held in the respectively selected rotational position by means of a locking device.
  • a particularly preferred embodiment according to the invention can be created in that the spring element is additionally adjustable in stages by means of additional position cams in connection with the screw.
  • An embodiment is preferred in which a quick release device is formed by the additional position cams. This achieves the advantage that when the clip is released from the anchorage on the board, it is not necessary to actuate the setting wheel in order to fasten the clip back to the anchorage. To do this, only the quick release device must be operated.
  • this embodiment can be further developed in that a fixed locking part is held fixed against rotation on the spring element, with which a movable locking part, which contains the position cam, interacts.
  • the movable latch part preferably has an easily accessible lever, which can also be actuated easily in emergency situations, for example when a shoe gets caught in the loop, in order to reduce the triggering force.
  • the webbing 1 forming a foot loop is held by an axis 2, which is formed in one piece with a clip-like component 3 in the exemplary embodiment.
  • a housing 5 is let into the windsurfing board designated 4 in such a way that it is flush with the deck surface 6.
  • the clamp-like part 3 engages over the holding axis from above, which in the installed position is received in a non-positive and positive manner by a bore 9 extending over the entire width of the clamp-like part 3.
  • the bore 9 is open at the bottom by means of a slot 10, so that the clip-like part 3 can be pushed over the holding axis 9 from above.
  • a further slot is also provided above the bore 9, the height of which depends on the intended suspension properties when the clip-like part 3 is triggered.
  • the slot 13 is above the bore 9 transverse to the main extension of the clip-like part 3 penetrated by a bore 14.
  • the bore 14 is formed on the right side in FIG. 1 as a smooth bore 15 and in the same illustration on the left side of the slot 13 as a threaded bore 16.
  • a screw 17 is screwed into the bore 14 from the smooth bore 15.
  • the screw 17 has an enlarged head 18 which is provided with a knurling 19.
  • the threaded bore 16 consequently forms an abutment, generally designated 21.
  • a coil spring 20 is arranged as a spring element 22, the compressive force of which can be changed by adjusting the screw 17.
  • the width of the clamp-like component 3 essentially corresponds to the total length of the holding axis 8.
  • the arrangement is such that the position of the bore 14 is such that the knurling 19 understands slightly above the deck surface 6 of the windsurf board 4. If necessary, the bore 14 can also be arranged somewhat deeper, as long as it is ensured that the screw 17 can be adjusted from the top.
  • the clip-like part 3 can be separated from the holding axis 8 in the manner of a safety binding.
  • the clip-like component essentially represents a type of clothespin, the release force of which can be adjusted by the holding axis 8 via the spring 20.
  • the housing 5 is designed differently in that the recess 7 has an approximately T-shaped shape, the clip-like part 3 being arranged in the transverse web of the T.
  • the spring element 22 is formed by two metal leaf springs 24 which are attached on both sides to the outer surface of the clamp-like part 3 or its legs 11 and 12 and which are slightly curved in the plane of the clamp-like part (cf. 19 and 20).
  • the spring element 22 formed by the metal leaf springs 23, 24 a better distribution of the compressive force exerted by the screw 17 over the entire length of the clip-like part 3 is achieved. Furthermore, this ensures that the suspension properties in the manufacture of such clips 3 are predictably constant being held.
  • the abutment 21 is formed by the head of the screw 17, the bore 14 in the clip-like part 3 being continuously smooth.
  • a quick-release fastener generally designated 25, is provided on the shaft of the screw 17 in the illustrated embodiment, which will be explained in more detail below.
  • an adjusting wheel 26 is provided on the threaded section of the screw 17, which is in threaded engagement with the latter, and is provided with numerals on its circumference in order to be able to check the setting of the triggering force.
  • a locking device 27 is also provided behind the setting wheel in order to hold the selected setting of the setting wheel 26.
  • Fig. 5 shows a sectional view along the line VV of Fig. 4.
  • the webbing 1 holding the axis 2 is made as a thru-axle made of stainless steel, which in the holes 28 of the clip-like part 3 in a press fit or by means of adhesives or the like is held.
  • the holding axis 8 is also designed as a stainless steel axis and is seated in bores 29 of frame-like reinforcements 30 provided on the housing 5 at a corresponding point.
  • the clip-like part 3 is provided on both outer surfaces with two stub-shaped projections 31, 32, 33, 34 formed in one piece, each of which engages in two bores 35, 36 which engage in each of the leaf springs 23 , 24 are provided (see FIG. 19).
  • each of the springs 24 is also provided in the middle with a passage 37 for the shaft of the screw 17 (see FIG. 19).
  • the leaf springs 23, 24 are slightly curved in the direction of the clip-like part 3, so that a lower edge 38 and an upper edge 39 are formed for secure and essentially linear contact.
  • the curvature also determines the force exerted by the leaf springs 23, 24 on the clip-like part 3.
  • 19 and 20 show the leaf spring 24 approximately on a 2: 1 scale.
  • the screw 17 is illustrated in detail on a double-enlarged scale.
  • the screw 17 has a shaft 44 which consists of a smooth shaft part 45 and a threaded section 46.
  • the screw 17 has a first flat 47, the mutually parallel surfaces of which lie at a distance which corresponds approximately to the diameter of the shaft 44. In the installed state, this flattening is received by the passage opening 37 of a leaf spring 23 or 24, which is designed correspondingly rectangular (Fig. 19). This ensures that after insertion of the screw 17, the latter is held in the leaf spring 24 against rotation, the lugs 31 to 34 received in the bores 35, 36 forming a counter bearing against this rotary movement.
  • a further flattening 48 and a threaded counter bore 49 extending into the screw 17 are formed. These parts serve to hold and support the locking device 27 described below, which should be rotatable together with the screw 17.
  • FIGS. 21 to 26 show the setting wheel 26, which also consists of plastic in the exemplary embodiment.
  • a threaded insert 52 is fastened in a concentrically reinforced hub section 51 in a centrally located bore 50 of the adjusting wheel 26, the internal thread 53 of which corresponds to the external thread of the threaded section 46 of the screw 17.
  • the hub section 51 is surrounded by a pot-like section 54, which is provided on the outside with gripping notches 55 and also bears numbers which are advantageous for recognizing the selected setting.
  • axially extending notches 56 are provided, which have beveled side walls and which interact with the locking device 27 described with reference to FIGS. 24 to 26 or form part of the locking device 27.
  • the 24 to 26 consists of a disk-shaped plastic part 58, on which an arm 59 is formed in one piece.
  • the arm 59 has a pawl-shaped change 60, which is intended for engagement with the notches 57.
  • the disk-shaped plastic part is provided with an elongated hole 61, the dimensions of which correspond to the flattening 48 at the free end of the screw 17 (cf. FIGS. 12 to 14).
  • the latching device 27 is fastened in a rotationally fixed manner to the free end of the screw 17 by screwing the screw 62 into the inner bore 49.
  • the arm 59 engages in the pot-like section 54 of the setting wheel 26 and holds the setting wheel 26 in any selected rotational position by engaging the pawl section 60 in one of the notches 56 against a relative rotation with respect to the screw 17, such relative rotations in particular Actuation of the quick release described below can occur.
  • the length of the arm 59 in the axial direction of the elongated hole 61 corresponds approximately to the setting path of the setting wheel 26.
  • the quick release fastener 25 consists of a movable latch 63 illustrated in FIGS. 15 to 18 and a fixed latch 64 illustrated in FIGS. 27 to 30.
  • the drawings show the latches 63 and 64 on a double-enlarged scale.
  • the movable bolt 63 is made in one piece from a plastic and has a hub section 65 which is mounted on the unthreaded shaft section 45 of the screw 17 by means of a central bore 66 (cf. FIG. 6).
  • the hub section 65 is connected in one piece to a cranked lever section 67, by means of which the movable latch 63 can be pivoted.
  • the lever section below the crank 68 is provided with reinforcing ribs 69 to 72.
  • the cranking of the lever section 63 is designed in such a way that in the latched normal position, to which reference is made below, the upper section 73 runs parallel to the deck surface 6 of the windsurfing board 4 (cf. FIG. 4).
  • cam surfaces 74, 75, 76 are provided symmetrically to the bore 66, which interact with corresponding cam surfaces of the fixed locking part 64.
  • the cam surface 74 corresponds to a pressure position that is not deep, locked in
  • the cam surface 75 corresponds to a high central position
  • the cam surface 76 corresponds to a deep, locked normal position.
  • the fixed locking part 64 illustrated in FIGS. 27 to 30 also consists of a plastic part and has a central bore 77, by means of which the locking part 64 is also mounted on the smooth shaft portion 45 of the screw 17.
  • the locking part 64 is provided with a substantially rectangular projection 78, which in FIG the installed position engages in the opening 37 provided in the leaf spring 23. In this way, the fixed bolt is held on the leaf spring 23 in a rotationally fixed manner in the installed position.
  • the locking part 64 On its side illustrated in FIGS. 27 and 28, which faces the movable locking part 63, the locking part 64 is provided with bevelled, protruding locking cams 79 which cooperate with the cam surfaces 74, 75, 76.
  • the quick-release fastener 25 formed by the locking parts 63 and 64 is arranged between the setting wheel 26 and the leaf spring 23 of the clamp-like component 3.
  • the effect is such that the movable locking part 63, which is rotatably mounted on the screw 17, can be pivoted by 90 ° relative to the fixed locking part 64, so that the cooperating cams 74, 75, 76 and the locking cams 79 pass through onto the screw 17 applied tensile force in the direction of the left end of Fig. 6 various additional pressures can be exerted on the leaf springs 23, 24.
  • the cam 74 takes effect and the force exerted by the leaf springs 23, 24 on the clamp-like component is correspondingly increased.
  • the clip-like component 3 is pressed together by an additional predetermined amount via the cams. So that the setting wheel 26 is not moved during the pivoting movement of the locking part 63, the locking device 27 is effective, which holds the setting wheel 26 against a relative movement with respect to the screw 17.
  • the movable bolt 63 is locked in both end positions with respect to the fixed bolt 64.
  • the movable bolt 63 is actuated as a quick-release fastener 25, so that, for example when the clamp 3 is released from the axis 8, it is not necessary to actuate the setting wheel 26 in order to push the clamp-like component 3 back onto the axis 8. This is done by actuating the lever 67 and correspondingly pivoting the locking part 63.
  • the lever 67 and correspondingly the movable locking part can be used in order to achieve easy triggering in emergency situations, for example when the shoe gets caught in the loop, by reducing the triggering force.
