Definitions

  • the present invention relates to an ignition and monitoring device according to the preamble of the main claim.
  • Zürid and monitoring devices have become known as purely thermoelectric ignition fuses both for fuel-heated heat sources working with and without mains voltage, in particular gas-heated water heaters. It is assumed that regardless of the support with mains voltage, the pilot burner's pilot flame burns regularly during the main burner's pauses.
  • the present invention is therefore based on the object of providing an ignition and monitoring device with the support of a supply voltage source which can also be used manually independently of the operation of the supply voltage source.
  • the technical progress that can be achieved in this way is that the user can use the heat source even if the mains voltage fails, while there is no impairment of usability when the supply voltage source is present.
  • FIG. 1 is a schematic representation of an ignition and monitoring device according to the invention
  • Figure two shows a variant of the invention.
  • a fuel-heated heat source not shown, be it a gas or oil-fired boiler, circulating water heater or continuous water heater, has a main burner 1 which is controlled by a main fuel valve 2, the actuating rod 3 of which is actuated by a heat demand switch 4 controlled by a consumer of the heat source.
  • the heat demand switch can either be a room thermostat, i.e. the actuator of a room temperature sensor, or a water switch which is acted upon by the water flowing through in a continuous-flow heater after the start of the tap or in a circulating water heater after a pump has responded.
  • An extension of the rod 3 leads to a changeover switch 5.
  • the main fuel valve 2 lies in the course of a fuel line 6, which is controlled in the area of the input 7 of the heat source by an ignition safety valve 8 and from which a pilot fuel line 9 branches, which splits into a line branch 10 and 11, which are connected together to an ignition burner 12 are.

  • a manual valve 17 which can be actuated by a handle 16 is provided, with the valve or the handle being assigned a normally closed contact 18 which is provided in the course of a line 19 which leads to the pole R1 of a mains supply voltage source with the other pole Mp.
  • thermoelectric ignition fuse also has an armature 24 which is connected to an actuating rod 25 to which the valve body of the valve 8 is also articulated. With the rod 25, a handle 26 or a normally closed contact 25 is connected, which is provided in the course of the line 19, in series, to the normally closed contact 18.

  • the secondary side of the ignition transformer leads via line 41 to an ignition electrode 42, which is assigned to the pilot burner 12.
  • a line 43 branches off the line 39 and is connected to the normally closed contact 44 of the relay 32 in the quiescent state of the relay
  • line 43 is connected to a line 45, which leads to a thermosimulation voltage element 46. From thermo Simulation member 46 lead two lines 47 and 48 for fuse protection, line 47 is connected to line 22, line 48 to line 21.
  • the other pole Mp of the supply voltage source is grounded, accordingly the excitation coil 14 in the ignition gas path, the thermal voltage simulation element 46, the excitation coil 31 and 33 and the ignition transformer are also grounded on one side.
  • the circuit just described has the following function: starting from the idle state shown in the circuit, that is to say when there is no current, the normally closed contact 18 is closed, but the normally open contact 27 of the ignition fuse is open. The supply voltage source is thus disconnected from the changeover switch 5. All relays are de-energized. The main fuel valve 2 and both pilot gas valves are closed. If the handle 16 is actuated in this state, the ignition gas valve 17 opens, but its opening remains ineffective because of the closed state of the ignition safety valve 8.
  • Requesting heat by actuating the switch 4 also causes the main fuel valve 2 to open, but this opening is also ineffective since the ignition safety valve 8 is still closed. If the heat source is to be put into operation when the supply voltage source is intact, the handle 26 is pressed, so that the normally open contact 27 is closed and the ignition safety valve 8 is opened and the armature 24 is applied to the electromagnet 23 of the ignition fuse. As a result, gas or oil is present in the course of the fuel line 6 both at the main valve 2 and at the pilot fuel valves 13 and 17 lying in parallel. There is also supply voltage on the line 19, via switch 5 on line 28. As a result, the excitation coils 31 and 33 are acted on, so that the corresponding contacts switch.
  • the relay coil 31 Since the line 28 is now de-energized, the relay coil 31 is switched off, so that the changeover contact 44 and the make contact 38 go into the rest position without delay, but the make contact 35 is still subject to the drop-out delay of the relay 34.
  • the drop in the delay time is the supply voltage via lines 29, 37 and 39 on the ignition transformer 40, so that the fuel emerging at the pilot burner 12 is ignited via the ignition electrode 42. If the ignition takes place, the thermocouple 20 is heated and takes over the supply of the electromagnet 23. Its supply ends after the end of the drop-out delay of the relay 34, since when the contact 35 is switched back, the line 45 is no longer under supply voltage and thus the thermal current simulation element 46 is no longer supplied with voltage. If the ignition of the pilot burner 12 does not succeed, the ignition safety valve 8 closes when the waste ends Delay of relay 34.
  • main burner 1 and pilot burner 12 either burn together or go out, depending on the operating state of the heat source.
  • An extinction of the heat request signal causes the switch 5 to be switched back, whereby the two relay coils 31 and 33 are excited again, the pilot fuel valve 14 closes, the supply of current to the thermocouple 20 is interrupted after the cooling time, the thermocouple and the thermal current simulation via the contacts 35 and 44 again is taken over.
  • a failure of the supply voltage leads to the following results: If the supply voltage fails while the heat source is in operation, the ignition burner 12 goes out because the associated solenoid valve 13 is closed. The main burner continues to burn, the heat source is monitored via the ignition safety valve 8, which is supplied with thermal voltage by the main burner via the thermocouple 20. When the supply voltage returns, the pilot gas solenoid valve 13 is opened again and the pilot burner burns. However, if the supply voltage fails when the heat source is in the operational state, the thermal current simulation is interrupted since the two relays 32 and 34 are de-energized. So that the electromagnet 23 is no longer supplied with voltage, so that the ignition safety valve 8 closes. Since the heat source was not in operation anyway, this has no further effect.
  • the heat source does not go into operation. This will be noticed by the consumer after some time, either because the instantaneous water heater does not supply hot water on request or because the heating falls below a set flow temperature limit.
  • the pilot burner can be supplied with fuel when the handle 26 is actuated at the same time. The fuel escaping from the pilot burner 12 can be ignited, the ignition safety device monitors itself via the thermoelectric fuse, since the thermocouple is heated. If a heat request signal is given, the main fuel valve 2 opens purely mechanically, the heat source and the ignition protection device are monitored via the thermoelectrics.
  • the main valve 2 closes; in the operational state, the thermoelectric monitoring is still carried out with the pilot burner burning. If the mains voltage returns, this has no effect on the circuit, since the contact 18 is opened when the handle 16 is actuated. If the contact 16 is closed again when the supply voltage returns, that is to say the valve 17 is closed equally, the thermal voltage simulation takes place as described in the absence of a heat request signal at the switch 4, since the thermocouple, despite the pilot burner 12 being extinguished, still has a cooling time during which the ignition safety valve 8 is still active remains closed.
  • the solenoid valve 13 opens immediately, so that the pilot burner, aside from a very short break, remains virtually in operation.
  • the pilot burner 12 which continues to ignite ignites the main burner 1 as described.
  • the variant of the invention according to the figure two is that the branching of the pilot fuel line 9 is omitted, rather the handle 16 works directly on the valve body of the solenoid valve 13. An actuation of the handle 16 causes the ignition gas solenoid valve 13 to lock in the open position, so that the same function as in the embodiment according to FIG. 1 results. Costly there is an advantage since the branching in the pilot fuel path and the manually operated valve 17 are saved.
