Definitions

  • the invention relates to an electrical spring clip with an elongated, substantially cylindrical contact element which has a radial opening for receiving a first connection conductor and a socket-shaped extension on the outside insulated from contact with a central bore for receiving a second connection conductor, a provided on the contact element in a longitudinally displaceable manner, which is pressed out by spring tension from the receiving position for the first connecting conductor and can be transferred against this spring tension into the receiving position and which is made of insulating material and is provided with a sleeve-shaped pressing element, the lower part of the contact element at least in the receiving area of the first connecting conductor and its upper part in the area of the socket-shaped extension to protect against contact.
  • spring terminals are also referred to as “pole terminals” and are widely used for the construction of experimental, but also of permanently installed circuits, or of measuring circuits in the low and medium voltage range.
  • Spring or pole terminals of the aforementioned type are easy and convenient to use because the connecting conductor, after the pressing element has been raised, can only be inserted into the contact recess, generally a transverse bore in a contact pin or the like, whereupon the locking and contacting occurs simply by releasing the pressing element .
  • the problem with these contact terminals is securing the user against contact with live conductors, particularly when the contact element is raised, because in the usual designs in this state the contact recess and adjacent areas of the contact element are exposed.
  • contact or pole terminals with an additional socket part for connecting individual plugs are known.
  • the clamping part there does not have a displaceable pressure element which is under spring pressure, but rather a union nut which can be moved by hand between an open position and a pressure position and whose bore in the outer region is designed as a socket contact element.
  • These designs do not correspond to the type of spring clips mentioned at the beginning, and they lack the convenient and simple handling for connecting and disconnecting the conductor. With regard to protection against accidental contact, there are the same disadvantages as with the simple spring clips mentioned.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a spring clip which is characterized by convenient handling with flawless contact protection and has a socket part included in this contact protection for the connection of a second conductor.
  • This object of the invention in a spring clip of the type mentioned is achieved by the features of the characterizing part of claim 1.
  • the design according to the invention results in an improved, so to speak "double-walled” contact protection of the most exposed and therefore most likely to be subject to any damage to the socket part; at the same time, the easy handling of the spring clamp when connecting and disconnecting the first conductor is ensured by axially displacing the pressure element, and in addition the utilization of the pressure element for the additional shielding of the conductive components leads to a simple construction.
  • the plug is inserted as a second connecting conductor with a plug insulating jacket surrounding the conductive plug pin at a distance, a labyrinth-like nesting of the interlocking insulating sleeve and socket elements with comparatively large electrical creepage distances and excellent protection against contact.
  • the spring clip shown comprises a clamping part KT and a socket part BT.
  • the clamping contact element KK is pin-shaped and provided with a radial opening AK for receiving a first connecting conductor, not shown.
  • the clamping con reaches through with an inner bolt section clock element KK an insulating base element SE, which is inserted into a bore in a housing plate PL and is held on the inside of the housing by means of an insulating washer S and a screw connection V.
  • the socket part BT is formed by a socket-shaped extension BK formed integrally on the clamping part KT with a central bore AB for receiving a second connecting conductor, not shown.
  • the bush-shaped extension BK consists of an inner, thin-walled cylindrical guide body LK with an outer insulating cover ID. The latter is extended outward in the axial direction of the socket beyond the end of the guide body and forms an insulating opening section OA, so that a safety distance with a corresponding creepage distance is formed between the conductive component of the socket part BT and the socket opening.
  • a sleeve-shaped pressing element AP made of insulating material is axially displaceable on the outside.
  • This pressure element is biased in the starting position shown by a pressure spring AF in the axial direction outwards against an annular extension A of the sleeve-shaped extension BK, the radial opening AK being offset against a corresponding contact opening KO of the pressure element AP.
  • the pressing element AP is pressed downward in the axial direction against the pressing spring AF until the radial opening AK is aligned with the contact opening KO.
  • the connecting conductor is clamped between the clamping contact element KK and the wall of the pressing element AP, so that reliable contacting is ensured.
  • the contact opening KO is provided with an inner reinforcing flange F, which transmits the contact pressure to the connecting conductor.
  • the outer surface of the pressing element AP is provided with a ring-groove surface structure GR.
  • the overall one-piece pressing element AP has at its outer end section an upper part, which serves as the first insulating sleeve IHa, which engages around the socket contact element BK in the axial direction up to the height of the socket opening, in the illustrated rest position of the pressing element.
  • the comparatively large axial extent of the insulating sleeve IHa results in considerable creepage distances, so that a high level of safety is provided even in a humid atmosphere.
  • a cylindrical receiving space AR is formed for a plug insulating jacket, for example a conventional insulating sleeve surrounding the plug pin with a radial spacing.
  • a plug insulating jacket for example a conventional insulating sleeve surrounding the plug pin with a radial spacing.
  • the inner end portion of the pressure element AP forms a lower part IHb, which engages around the pressure spring AF and the outer part of the socket element SE.
  • the length of the axial overlap is dimensioned such that reliable shielding against contact by the user is ensured in the position of the pressing element AP that is maximally displaced outward.
  • a part serving as an insulating sleeve IHc is molded onto the base element SE, which in turn encompasses the inner, conductive components of the clamping part KT.
  • the one-piece design of the base element with its insulating sleeve also results in a construction part that can be produced with little effort. Overall, the manufacturing effort in a construction of the present type can be kept low despite the significantly improved touch shield.
