Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to a built-in sink in a single piece with a single bench top and at least one tray.
When a sink of this type is provided with its tap, generally placed between the bench top and the tray, near the rear longitudinal edge of the sink, the latter is asymmetrical, that is to say that there are two models: one in which the bench is to the right of the bin, and the other, in which it is to the left of the bin. In the case of stoneware or stainless steel sinks, it is however possible, without drawback, to prepare, for the manufacture of the built-in sink, on its inside face, which will not be visible, two pilot holes, of the type of those known for example from DE-A-2 559 620 neighbors respectively of the two longitudinal edges of the sink, and only one of which will be opened at the place of assembly, for the fitting of the tap. This avoids having to manufacture and above all to store two different models of sink, identical to the position near the hole for mounting the tap.
It is however impossible to do the same in the case of sinks made of particularly fragile materials, for example enamelled steel; in the latter case, in fact, it has been found that the unblocking of a pilot hole in the area between the benchtop and the nearest tank results in deterioration of the enamel on a surface which is considerably greater than that which is hidden by the tap in place. To avoid having to manufacture and store two different models of built-in sinks with a single benchtop and at least one tray, for example of enameled steel, we have already considered manufacturing a single model, fitted, for mounting the faucet, of two suitable holes, respectively adjacent to the two longitudinal edges of the sink, and to mask the one of these two holes which is not actually used for mounting the faucet, using an appropriate cover. Of course, this solution is unsatisfactory due to the non-functional and unsightly nature of this cover.
The present invention relates to a built-in sink in a single piece of the type indicated initially, for example of enamelled steel, which is characterized in that it comprises, between the benchtop and the nearest tray, which are in one piece, two bowls with drilled bottom, of the same shape and size, these two bowls being respectively adjacent to the two longitudinal edges of the sink, and being each adapted to allow it to rise, depending on whether the bench must be on the right or on the left of the tank, either a base for a tap, or a perforated rosette, of the same shapes and dimensions as said base, and intended to serve, for example, as a saucer.
The present invention therefore makes it possible to produce built-in sinks in a single piece of a single model, which can be mounted both with the benchtop to the right of the tray and to the left of it, without the need to hide the unused hole or bowl for fitting the tap, with a non-functional and unattractive cover. To this essential advantage is added the fact that the built-in sink according to the present invention comprises, practically without modification of its cost price, an auxiliary device much appreciated by housewives, in particular a saucer, which makes it possible to avoid the too fast clogging of the tanks. On the other hand, the base provided for mounting the tap on the sink according to the present invention, as well as the corresponding bowls, can be easily dimensioned so as to provide a very robust mechanical seat for the tap, whatever its model; this latter advantage is particularly appreciable in the case of a gooseneck tap, the rotation of which can generate significant torques, tending to tear off the tap from its housing, with at least the risk of damage to enamel near the base of the tap. The present invention therefore advantageously makes it possible to give the bowls and the tap base sufficient dimensions to ensure good mechanical stability at the tap, whatever its model.
- La fig. 1 représente un évier selon la présente invention en position de montage avec sa paillasse à droite du bac;
- Fig. 1 shows a sink according to the present invention in the mounting position with its bench to the right of the tank;
- fig. 2 shows the same sink as FIG. 1, mounted with its bench to the left of the tank.
In fig. 1 and 2 of the accompanying drawing, 1 designates a built-in enamelled steel sink, which comprises a single bench 2 and a
We know that built-in sinks of this kind are generally sold without faucet, which allows the user to adapt a faucet model of his choice. On the other hand, the
In fig. 1, where the bench 2 must be on the right of the
The present invention is also applicable in particular to built-in sinks comprising a single bench but two bowls, located on the same side of the bench, the advantages obtained being the same as in the case of a single bowl sink. Instead of serving as a saucer, the perforated rosette 7, mounted in one of the two
