Definitions
- the invention relates to a fuel injector for internal combustion engines according to the preamble of the main claim.
- a fuel injector for internal combustion engines according to the preamble of the main claim.
- Such an injector is already known from DE-OS 27 39 628, in which the connector is connected to a measuring device to detect the electrical resistance between the nozzle needle and the valve seat and to indicate the movement of the nozzle needle relative to the valve seat.
- the valve seat is grounded and the nozzle needle is connected to the positive pole of the vehicle electrical system, and the electrical connection of the connection piece with the nozzle needle takes place via the pressure body and the closing spring.
- the fuel injector for internal combustion engines according to the invention with the characterizing features of the main claim has the advantage over the discussed prior art that the electrical connection between the nozzle needle and the connector is made safely and that series products can be designed as electrical switches without great effort, without the fuel is used to isolate the switch.
- FIG. 1 shows the first exemplary embodiment
- FIG. 2 shows the second exemplary embodiment in an axial section and on an enlarged scale.
- the two fuel injection valves for internal combustion engines in FIGS. 1 and 2 are essentially made of electrically conductive materials and are rotationally symmetrical with respect to the valve axis 9. Both injection valves essentially consist of a nozzle holder 10, an adjoining intermediate plate 11 and a nozzle body 12, which are screwed axially by means of a union nut 13.
- a valve needle 15 has a needle shaft 18 which slides in a guide bore 14 of the nozzle body 12, a sealing cone 17 which interacts with a valve seat 16 of the nozzle body 12 and a pressure pin 19 which bears continuously on a pressure pin 20.
- a spring space 21 which is open at the end and has a shoulder 22 and a bore 23 are recessed, to which a recess 24 leading to the outside is continued.
- a helical compression spring 25 is supported on the one hand via a spring adjusting washer 26 on the shoulder 22 and on the other hand via an insulation to be described on the pressure bolt 20.
- the fuel reaches the inlet channels 29 to 32 and ring channels 33, 34, in a pressure chamber .27 of the nozzle body 12, which has a connection to a spray opening 28 via the valve seat 16.
- a line element 40 made of electrically conductive materials has a contact pin 41 fastened in the bore 23 by means of an insulating sleeve 42, a contact spring 43 clamped onto the end section thereof and a contact cone 44 which is sprinkled therein. This lies in a depression 46 of a pressure bolt 45 non-positively, so that there is a permanent electrical contact between the two parts.
- a guide surface 48 and a bearing surface 49 of the pressure pin 20 are coated with an insulation 47 made of abrasion-resistant material, so that the pressure spring 25 is electrically insulated from the pressure pin 20.
- a connecting piece 50 is fastened via an insulating sleeve 51, the contact tongue 52 of which receives a line (not shown) of a test device and the end portion of a connecting line 54 is soldered into the eye 53 thereof; likewise the other end section of this connecting line is connected to the contact pin 41.
- the needle shaft 18 of the valve needle 15 has an insulating layer 55 made of abrasion-resistant material, which slides in the guide bore 14 of the nozzle body 12.
- the injector is screwed into the engine block, not shown, in its functional state and consequently has electrically conductive contact with the ground of the vehicle electrical system.
- that of valve seat 16 and sealing cone 17 formed electrical switch closed, whereby a circuit between the nozzle body 12 and the test device, not shown, is also closed.
- the electrical switch 16/17 When the injection nozzle is in the open state, the electrical switch 16/17 is open, and since the valve needle 15, the pressure pin 20, the contact pin 41 and the connector 50 have electrical insulation with respect to the nozzle body 12 and the nozzle holder 10, the current path now opens and therefore interrupts the electrical connection between the engine block and the test device.
- the line element 60 of the injection valve in FIG. 2 is designed as a helical spring with two axial ends 61, 62 and is arranged to move freely within the compression spring 25.
- the end 62 is non-positively supported in the trough 46 of the pressure pin 20, and the other end 61 is in a contact pin 64 which is stuck in the bore 23 by means of an insulating cap 65.
- the connecting piece 66 is fastened via a sleeve 67 in the recess 24 of the nozzle holder 10, the plug 68 which is insulated from the sleeve 67 runs out into a contact tongue 69 which rests non-positively on a pin 70 of the contact bolt 64 and consequently establishes an electrical connection.
- a sleeve 71 made of hardened steel consisting of a ring 72 and a collar 73 is glued to the pressure bolt 20 by means of an electrically insulating plastic layer 74 and forms the guide surface 48 and the bearing surface 49 for the compression spring 25.
- a sleeve 75 made of hardened steel is glued to the needle shaft 18 of the valve needle 15 by means of an insulating layer 76 and slides in the guide bore 24 of the nozzle body 12.
- the sealing cone 17 with the valve seat 16 forms the electrical switch and the interconnected parts between the sealing cone 17 and the plug 68 are electrically insulated from the cooperating housing parts, so that the current path between the valve seat 16 and the test device, not shown, through the opening and closing of the injection nozzle is also opened and closed.

Abstract
