Definitions

  • the present invention relates to a driving tool for fasteners provided with a shaft according to the preamble of claim 1.
  • Driving tools of this type are used to process loose fasteners, such as nails, screws, pins etc., which are provided in a magazine connected to the driving tool. From DE-OS 2 511 023 it is known to arrange the magazine so inclined against the ejection channel that the nails get into the ejection channel by gravity. Partitioning and feeding of the first nail, as well as the stroke of the plunger are achieved by a compressed air sequence control with several valve functions, which run after the trigger valve is actuated.
  • a similar driving tool is known from US Pat. No. 3,622,062, but for actuating the compartment piston, its compressed air cylinder is connected to the main inlet valve via special connecting lines and is controlled by actuating the trigger lever. Flawless coordination of the movement sequences between the compartment piston and the driving plunger, as well as the secure holding of a loose nail in the ejection channel is not guaranteed here.
  • the object of the invention is therefore to provide a driving tool of the type mentioned, in which it is ensured that the compartment piston and the driving piston can be actuated in succession in the desired time sequence with little control expenditure and which can be used in any position.
  • the feature according to the invention offers the possibility of also using the driving tool to process fasteners which form a fastener strip, such as, for. B. a nail or screw strip are connected.
  • both the fasteners provided loosely in the magazine and the fasteners connected to form a fastener strip are fed to the ejection channel by a magazine slide connected by a spring.
  • the driving tool is therefore universally usable for both loose fasteners and fastener strips and can also be operated perfectly in all desired directions, including upwards.
  • a cylinder 2 is arranged in a housing 1, in which a pneumatic piston 3 is slidably mounted.
  • Percussion piston 3 is held in its rest position shown in Fig. 1 by a rubber-elastic locking device 4.
  • a connecting hose 5 and the hollow handle 6 of housing 1 serve to supply the compressed air from a compressed air source, not shown.
  • a release valve 7 can only be actuated when both a trigger 8 and a workpiece switch 43 are moved from their rest position into their working position.
  • a pipe slide 9 which is arranged concentrically with the cylinder 2, is controlled in a known manner so that compressed air can get into the cylinder 2 via the percussion piston 3 and move it into its working position shown in FIG. 3, or that this cylinder space is then vented again .
  • an air reservoir 10 is provided which, during the working stroke, fills with compressed air via a bore 11 in the cylinder 2, which then, after venting the cylinder space above the percussion piston 3, via the bores 12 under the percussion piston 3 arrives and moves it back to its rest position.
  • a cylinder base 13 is connected to the housing 1 by screws and has an ejection channel 14 in which a driving plunger 15 connected to the percussion piston 3 is movably mounted.
  • the discharge channel 14 is connected to a guide slot 16, in which a guide shaft 17 of a magazine 18 connected to the cylinder base 13 and handle 6 opens.
  • the central plane of the guide shaft 17 runs through the longitudinal axis of the discharge channel 14.
  • Loose nails 19 are provided in the magazine 18, the shafts 20 of which are guided in the guide shaft 17 and the heads 21 of which rest on two opposite bearing surfaces 22 (see also FIG. 5) which are inclined to the longitudinal axis of the discharge duct 14. 4 shows, the guide shaft 17 is open to the rear.
  • Fig. 2 shows a tapering to the front compartment member 23 which engages in the locking position shown in Fig. 2 in the guide slot 16 so that it separates the discharge channel 14 from the guide shaft 17.
  • Compartment member 23 is connected to a compartment piston 24 which is movably mounted in a compartment cylinder 25 and is pressed into its locked position by a compression spring 26.
  • the cylinder space 27 is connected to the air reservoir 10 through connecting bores 28.
  • the compartment cylinder 25 is closed by a screw plug 29 in which a guide pin 30 connected to the compartment piston 24 is mounted. This is provided with an annular groove 31 into which a pawl 32 can be inserted. For this purpose, this is pivotally attached to screw 29 by a screw 33 (see also FIG. 3).
  • a holding device 34 in the form of two permanent magnets is provided in the cylinder base 13, which act in the ejection channel 14 and hold a first nail 35 there in the rest position of the driving plunger 15.
  • a cam which resiliently engages in the ejection channel 14 or resilient guide jaws can also be provided as the holding device, which, however, since they are known, are not shown in detail here.
  • Exhaust bores 36 are provided in the cylinder base 13 above the holding device 34 and after the return stroke of percussion pistons 3 serve to discharge the remaining return stroke compressed air, which otherwise could blow the first nail 35 out of the discharge channel 14.
  • a magazine slide 37 which is movably mounted in the guide shaft 17 is drawn in dash-dotted lines, to which a roller spring 39, which can be rolled up in the magazine 18, is fastened with a rivet 38.
  • This roller spring 39 acts on the magazine slide 37 in the direction of the ejection channel 14. With a handle 40 connected to the magazine slide 37, this can be moved towards the end of magazine 18 and hung there in a side pocket 41 (see FIG. 4) so that the Guide shaft 17 is open to the rear.
  • the rear open end of the guide shaft 17 of its magazine 18 is first coupled to a dispenser device, not shown, in which the nails are sorted and made available for transfer to the heads.
  • a dispenser device not shown
  • the nails are sorted and made available for transfer to the heads.
  • nails with twisted shafts, screw nails, nail screws, screws or the like can of course also be processed.
  • the nails 19 hang from the heads 21 in the guide shaft 17 under the action of gravity to the compartment member 23.
  • the magazine slide 37 can now be lifted out of the pocket 41 and inserted into the guide shaft 17, where it bears the nails 19 presses in the direction of the discharge channel 14 under the action of the roller spring 39.
  • Compartment member 23 now releases the guide slot 16, in which there are already nails 19, of which the first nail 35 is pressed in the direction of the ejection channel 14 until its head 21 strikes the driving plunger 15. Under the action of the spring-loaded magazine slide 37, however, it assumes with its shaft 20 a position directed away from the discharge channel 14 to the rear.
  • the interior of cylinder 2 is separated from the compressed air source in a known manner and vented at the same time.
  • the compressed air stored in the air reservoir 10 can thus convey the percussion piston 3 into its rear rest position, where it is held by the locking device 4.
  • the impact ram 15 acts as a result of frictional forces and is supported by transverse grooves 44 in the impact ram 15 on the head of the first nail 35 in such a way that its shaft 20 swivels clockwise until it rests on the wall of the discharge channel 14 opposite the guide slot 16. There it is held by the holding device 34 in the form of the two permanent magnets.
  • the next stroke is now played as already described loosens, then the plunger 15 drives the nail 35 into the workpiece 42.
  • the pawl 32 (FIGS. 3 and 3) must be pivoted clockwise so that it engages in the annular groove 31 of the guide pin 30.
  • Guide shaft 17 is now permanently open against the discharge channel 14 and it is possible to process nails connected to strips in the known manner.
  • the actuation of the compartment member 23 can also take place in such a way that it is mechanically coupled to the tappet 15 so that it moves the compartment member 23 into its release position in its driving position.
  • the magazine 18 is connected to the compartment member 23 with a screwing device known per se, loose screws stored in the magazine 18 can be processed in a simple manner.
  • the compartment member 23 can be actuated in such a way that it is shifted into its release position by the drive part of the screwing device when this drive part is moved against the workpiece.
