Definitions

  • the invention relates to a label tape with self-adhesive labels for label printing and dispensing devices which are easily detachably adhering in series on a continuous carrier tape and which are equipped with a pull-off device which gradually promotes the labels.
  • Such label tapes are known from US-A-2095437, DE-A-1205888 and DE-B-1486149. These label tapes are processed in price labeling devices in which the labels are printed and then brought into a dispensing position in which they are at least largely detached from the carrier tape and can be pressed against an object to be labeled by a pressure member, for example an elastic roller.
  • a pressure member for example an elastic roller.
  • label printing and output devices it is also possible to output a chain of printed labels, provided label strips are used in which the labels are separated from one another only by a simple separating cut or by perforation.
  • label tapes are inserted, for example, into a hand-held price labeling device according to DE-A-1224661 and the hand-held labeling device is used only as a label printer, then a chain of printed self-adhesive labels attached to one another and detached from the carrier tape is ejected from the device.
  • the self-adhesive labels then hang together using a glue bridge or perforation and can be easily separated.
  • the printed labels can then be attached by hand to an object to be labeled.
  • a label tape which is composed of a continuous carrier tape and, in a row, easily detachable, separate self-adhesive labels adhering to it, the adhesive layer of which is protected by a cover strip adhering to the carrier tape, which is in the longitudinal direction and is divided in the transverse direction.
  • the carrier tape When the carrier tape is pulled off, it also takes away the part of the cover strip which is located on one side of the longitudinal division and adheres to the carrier tape, while the other part of the cover strip remains in connection with the label detached from the carrier tape, so that the label can be gripped, without contaminating the pressure sensitive adhesive before attaching the label to a surface or during this process.
  • the carrier tape can also be pulled off in such a way that both parts of the cover strip, which is divided in the longitudinal direction, adhere to the individual labels.
  • Label tapes of this type are unsuitable for processing in price labeling devices in which the labels are printed and then brought into a dispensing position in which they are at least largely detached from the carrier tape and attached to an object to be labeled with the aid of a pressing member, for example an elastic roller can be.
  • the carrier tape could be partially removed from a take-off device and the labels printed, but the labels that are at least largely detached from the carrier tape and are in the dispensing position cannot be attached to a label Item be attached because the cover strip partially or fully adhering to the adhesive layer would prevent the label from sticking.
  • the object of the invention is to provide a label tape of the type mentioned, in which the disadvantages described do not occur and in which the printed labels can either be pressed and glued to an object to be labeled by the pressing member of the labeling device, or a series of printed labels Labels can be issued, the self-adhesive layer of which is at least largely protected.
  • a continuous backing tape is arranged under the backing tape, which is connected to the backing tape or the self-adhesive labels with such an adhesive force that either only the backing tape or the backing tape can be removed from the pull-off device together with the backing tape.
  • the label feed can be effected either by only gradually removing the backing tape from the take-off device of the labeling device or by gradually removing the backing tape together with the carrier tape from this take-off device.
  • the carrier tape, together with the self-adhesive labels adhering to it detaches from the backing tape on the deflection device of the price labeling device.
  • a strip is thus obtained which is composed of a carrier tape and printed labels adhering to it.
  • Such a strip with printed labels can serve various purposes. For example, it is possible to mark goods that are difficult to access with the price marking device, e.g. textiles on a shelf or cupboard, stacked laundry, towels, bed sheets or for which a label that has been placed on the price marking device is difficult to label
  • Pressure roller of the device can be used by several people, for example for extremely small objects such as jewelry, small toys, glass and porcelain animals or to stick the price on hang-up labels, each of whom is provided with a strip of printed labels and this strip provides the Remove the self-adhesive labels by hand and press them onto the object to be labeled.
  • label tapes Another possible use of such label tapes is that the seller is provided with strips of self-adhesive labels, on which a symbol identifying the seller is printed.
  • the seller can affix the self-adhesive label identifying him next to the price label, so that not only the sale of the item is registered at the checkout, but also the seller, in order to record the sales success of the individual seller.
  • the label tape according to the invention is inserted into a price labeling device in such a way that the pull-off device pulls off both the backing tape and the carrier tape, then the labels can be printed with the help of the labeling device and the printed label that has reached the dispensing position can be pressed against an object to be labeled using the pressure member will.
  • the carrier tape In order to convert the price marking device, only the carrier tape needs to be guided around the deflecting edge and, together with the backing tape, inserted into the take-off device, for example a pair of rollers.
  • An adhesive is expediently arranged between the carrier tape and the backing tape in order in this way to achieve a certain adhesion of the carrier tape on the backing tape. It can be advantageous to use a wax-like adhesive or an adhesive that is not or only very weakly self-adhesive.
  • the carrier tape can also be connected to the backing tape via an embossing deformation.
  • the carrier tape In order to achieve a connection between the backing tape and the rest of the label tape, it can also be advantageous to make the carrier tape a little narrower than the backing tape and the self-adhesive labels. With such a label tape, the edges of the self-adhesive labels adhere to the backing tape.
  • Such a label tape has the advantage that, in the case of a strip of printed labels, the labels can be detached very easily from the carrier tape.
  • the devices for pulling off the carrier tape or a backing tape consist of a pair of rollers or a gripper swinging back and forth, or of a conveyor roller which is provided with projections which engage in recesses in the carrier tape or a backing tape.
  • take-off devices for labeling devices which only touch the carrier tape or backing tape to be removed in a certain area of the width of the tape.
  • a label tape is particularly advantageous for these devices, in which the carrier tape has an adhesive-repellent, in particular siliconized, layer on both sides and the backing tape is partially provided with a self-adhesive layer on the side adjacent to the carrier tape.
  • the self-adhesive adheres to the base tape, but it is possible to arrange the self-adhesive on the base tape in such a way that it does not come into contact with the elements of the transport device of the labeling device.
  • the self-adhesive layer can be arranged as a very narrow strip in the central region of the backing tape, or as two narrow strips near the edges of the backing tape, depending on how the transport device of the labeling device is designed.
  • the self-adhesive layer can be applied very sparingly, that is to say very thinly and on relatively small surface areas of the backing tape.
  • This label tape has the advantage that the underside of the carrier tape is completely adhesive-free when it leaves the label printing and dispensing device together with the pre-printed labels.
  • a coherent, strip-like self-adhesive layer between the backing tape and the backing tape and to provide the backing tape on both sides and the backing tape with an adhesive-repellent, in particular siliconized, layer at least on the side adjacent to the backing tape.
  • the self-adhesive layer had to form a coherent tape in order to be able to be led out of the price marking device together with the carrier tape on the deflection device and to be removed from the carrier tape.
  • FIGS. 1, 3, 5 and 7 show top views of four embodiments of the label tape according to the invention.
  • FIGS. 2, 4, 6 and 8 show sectional views the label tapes shown in Figures 1, 3, 5 and 7, in which the thickness of the tapes is greatly increased.
  • the label tapes are composed of a carrier tape 1, self-adhesive labels 2 adhering to the carrier tape and a backing tape 3 arranged under the carrier tape 1.
  • a label tape is shown with smooth side edges, in which the width of the rectangular self-adhesive labels 2 corresponds to the width of the backing tape 3, and in which the labels 2 are separated from each other by smooth separating cuts.
  • the self-adhesive labels 2 with their self-adhesive layer 4 adhere both to the carrier tape 1 and to the edges on the backing tape 3. If the self-adhesive labels 2 are only printed with a price labeling device, the carrier tape detaches from the deflection device of the labeling device 1 with the labels 2 adhering to it from the backing tape 3. The self-adhesive labels protruding laterally with their edges over the carrier tape can only be removed very easily from the carrier tape 1. Nevertheless, the carrier tape 1 protects the larger part of the self-adhesive layer 4 of the labels 2.
  • Fig. 3 shows a label tape with wavy side edges, in which the carrier tape 1, the backing tape 3 and the strips of self-adhesive labels 2 are congruent.
  • an adhesive 5 is arranged between the carrier tape 1 and the backing tape 3, which creates a light adhesive connection between the carrier tape 1 and the backing tape 3.
  • Wax or stearin can be used as an adhesive.
  • the adhesive can be applied as a thin layer or in a dot pattern.
  • circular labels 2 adhere to the carrier tape 1.
  • the carrier tape 1 is connected to the same-size backing tape 3 via an embossing deformation 6, which is arranged in the longitudinal center of the label tape.
  • embossing deformation 6 which is arranged in the longitudinal center of the label tape.
  • 2 round die-cuts are arranged at equal intervals between the labels. Elements of the pull-off device of a price marking device can intervene in these punched-out areas, thereby causing the labels to be transported in register.
  • the adhesive 5 is applied in strips to the backing tape 3 in such a way that it does not come into contact with the elements of the pull-off device of the labeling device which engage on the backing tape 3.
  • the carrier tape 1 is provided on both sides with an adhesive-repellent layer.
