Definitions
- the invention relates to a fire door consisting of two cover sheets connected to one another on at least one rebate surface of the door via a U-shaped connecting profile, the inside of the box profile thus formed optionally being provided with insulating material and / or a stiffening structure, optionally in a cover sheet a folded strip protruding from the folded surface is formed, the two cover sheets are each bent through 90 ° to form edge strips of the folded surface and the edge strips are connected to one another via the U-shaped connecting profile.
- Known fire doors according to the preamble of claim 1 have the advantage that the U-shaped connecting profile in the event of fire can absorb the deformation stresses that occur so that the door is not warped. From an aesthetic point of view, too, it is useful to move the connection points of the two door halves into the interior of the box-like door profile.
- difficulties can arise during the assembly of the door, since when the U-profile is pushed into the edge strips, which is necessary at least on one rebate side of the door, jamming easily occurs in the rebate area.
- Increasing the play in the rebate connection may bring improvement here, but understandably the quality of the rebate connection suffers from this game, which has a disadvantageous effect in particular on the torsional rigidity of the door.
- insertion in the longitudinal direction can easily damage the surface, which is undesirable in terms of the appearance and the corrosion resistance of the door.
- a fire protection door has also become known (US Pat. No. 2,718,287), in which the side posts of the door leaf are connected to the central part of the door leaf by means of a snap connection formed in the cover plates.
- the disadvantage here is the selected type of snap connection, which cannot reliably prevent the interconnected door leaf parts from being loosened in the event of greater mechanical stress, as a result of which the suitability as a fire protection door is questioned in the event of a fire.
- the side posts which extend far into the door leaf surfaces, form an extremely undesirable thermal bridge in fire doors.
- the invention solves the problem of creating a fire door consisting of two cover sheets connected to one another by a U-profile by folds at the edges, which can be assembled quickly and easily from their parts without the quality of the rebate connection or the strength and fire safety of the door suffers.
- the connecting profile only has to be pressed in from the outside to produce the door when the outer and inner door trim panel with the insulation in between are brought into the final position.
- the risk of damaging the sheet metal surface is much lower than when inserting the connecting profile in the longitudinal direction.
- no displacement of the insulating material can occur, even if projecting parts, such as a lock, door hinges, securing pins, etc., are installed in the connecting profile. Since the only outer surface of the connecting profile is on the narrow side of the door leaf, it is there from the door frame against direct fire or. Protected against heat, so that a thermal bridge between the outer surfaces of the door leaf is avoided.
- a continuous, inwardly extending groove is provided in the base of the U-shaped connecting profile, for example door hinges or lock cuff can be accommodated in this groove.
- a connection profile designed in this way can absorb stresses occurring particularly well in the cover sheets.
- the door leaf 1 of a door is hinged to a frame frame 2 by means of two hinges.
- the door leaf 1 consists of two cover sheets 3, 4, which are angled at their edges to form edge strips 7, 8 and are connected to one another via a U-shaped connecting profile 5.
- the interior of the box section thus formed is filled with insulating material 6; however, it can also include a stiffening structure with or without insulation.
- connection profile 5 and the two edge strips 7, 8 is designed as a positive snap connection.
- the angled edge strips 7, 8 of each cover sheet 3, 4 are followed by a slot profile 9, 10 which is open towards the door circumference and has an inwardly pointing retaining web 11, 12.
- the end areas of the legs 13, 14 of the U-shaped connecting profile 5 are folded inwards to form a retaining web 15, 16 by approximately 180 °.
- the legs 13, 14 of the profile 5 are inserted into the slot profiles 9, 10.
- the slot profile 9, 10 initially springs open somewhat, but snaps back into its original position as soon as the holding webs 15, 16 have passed the holding webs 11, 12. In the position shown, the connection profile is already snapped.
- connection of the two cover sheets according to the invention allows a particularly efficient assembly, since the usual work, such as welding, riveting, gluing, etc. is eliminated. It should be mentioned at this point that the cover sheets can not only be made of sheet metal. Rather, other suitable materials which allow the formation of the snap connection mentioned and which are in harmony with the fire protection function of the door, in particular some plastics, are also suitable for producing the cover sheets and the connecting profile.
- a particular advantage of the invention is that the heat transfer between the two cover sheets is made considerably more difficult by the special type of connection, so that the heating of the side of the door facing away from the fire remains limited.
- the connection with the aid of the connection profile offers the possibility of largely preventing the door from buckling in the event of a fire in the event of a fire. The reason for this is that the cover sheet heated by the fire can initially expand unhindered, since this change in shape is absorbed by the always present play of the connection between the cover sheets and the connection profile.
- the legs of the connecting profile can be bent to a certain extent or tilt before the door warps.
- a continuous, inwardly extending groove 17 is formed in the base of the U-shaped connecting profile 5. This on the one hand further increases the elasticity of the profile, so that the aforementioned change in shape of a heated cover sheet can be better absorbed, on the other hand, for example, the faceplate of a lock can be accommodated in this groove, i.e. be sunk. The same applies to the fastening of door hinges.
- FIG. 3 corresponds to that shown in FIG. 2, but here a conventional door rebate 25 is formed in a cover sheet 4. While in the embodiment according to Fig . 2 both cover sheets can be formed identically in a rational manner, the production of the door rebate 25 requires two differently designed cover sheets 3, 4.
