Abstract
Настоящее изобретение касается главным образом новых генетических последовательностей, которые кодируют эпоксигеназные ферменты жирных кислот. В частности, настоящее изобретение касается генетических последовательностей, которые кодируют Δ12-эпоксигеназные ферменты жирных кислот, включающие монооксигеназные ферменты со смешанными функциями. Более предпочтительно, настоящее изобретение касается последовательностей кДНК, которые кодируют эпоксигеназы жирных кислот растений, в частности, Δ12-эпоксигеназу Crepis palaestina и ее гомологи, аналоги и производные. С помощью генетических последовательностей по настоящему изобретению можно изменять метаболизм жирных кислот или манипулировать этим метаболизмом в организмах, таких как дрожжи, плесневые грибы, бактерии, насекомые, птицы, млекопитающие и растения, в частности, преобразовывать в них ненасыщенные жирные кислоты в эпоксигенизированные жирные кислоты. Изобретение распространяется на генетически модифицированные накапливающие масла организмы, трансформированные генетическими последовательностями по настоящему изобретению, и на масла, получаемые от таких организмов. Вырабатываемые таким образом масла представляют собой экономически выгодный источник сырья для использования в эффективном производстве покрытий, смол, клеев, пластмасс, поверхностно-активных и смазочных веществ, среди прочего.Международная заявка была опубликована вместе с отчетом о международном поиске.
