(54) imprægneringsmiddel til murværk og uorganiske oxider.
Opfindelsen angår et middel til at gøre murværk og uorganiske oxider vandafvisende bestående af alkylalkoxysilanholdige produkter, der er opløst i et organisk opløsningsmiddel, hvilket middel er ejendommeligt ved det i kravets kendetegnende del angivne.
Det er kendt, at man kan anvende vandige, stærkt natriumalkaliske meth-ylsiliconatopløsninger til imprægnering af murværk. Imprægnering med sådanne opløsninger er dog forbundet med afgørende ulemper; således forårsager opløsningens store alkaliindhold en langsom afbinding af OQ organosiliciumforbindelserne på de imprægnerede overflader, og endvi- r- dere optræder der saltudskillelser på murværket som følge af natrium- ^ hydroxidets afbinding med kulsyre eller andre sure bestanddele af luf- •O ten. Desuden er håndteringen af stærkt alkaliske opløsninger i praksis 3· *

2 145611 ikke uden problemer.
Fra beskrivelsen til DE patent nr.1.034.865 er det endvidere kendt at anvende i vand uopløselige harpikser af siliciumorganiske forbindelser opløst i organiske opløsningsmidler, især i carbonhydri-der. Imidlertid kan man kun imprægnere fuldstændigt tørt murværk med disse forbindelser. For øvrigt har man iagttaget, at murværk, der har været imprægneret med disse midler, hurtigere bliver tilsmudset end ubehandlet murværk, hvilket i betragtning af imprægneringsmidlets harpikskarakter er forståeligt, såfremt den på murværk-ket påførte harpiks ikke har undergået en fuldstændig udhærdning.
Desuden anvendes hydrolysater af forskellige alkyltrialkoxysilaner som imprægneringsmiddel til murværk.Som hydrolyserende middel anvendes her syrer, især eddikesyre. Men på grund af den anvendte eddikesyre forbliver der på murværket acetater, som virker fugtoptagende.
Fra tysk fremlæggelsesskrift nr.1.052.023 er det tillige kendt at anvende alkylalkoxysilanblandinger opløst i et organisk opløsningsmiddel til imprægnering af murværk.Disse midler kan ligeledes kun anvendes til tørt murværk.
Det har nu vist sig, at imprægneringsmidler til at gøre murværk og uorganiske oxider vandafvisende kan anvendes på en fugtig overflade, når ifølge opfindelsen der som alkylalkoxysilanholdige produkter anvendes alkyl trialkoxysilaner, hvor alkylgruppen er mættet og har 1-6 carbonatomer, og hvor alkoxygruppen fortrinsvis er en methoxy-eller ethoxygruppe, eller sådanne tilkondenserede produkter deraf, som gennemsnitlig har 1 til 2 alkoxygrupper pr. siliciumatom, og at dersom opløsningsmiddel anvendes en alkohol med 1-3 carbonatomer, fortrinsvis ethanol.
Disse opløsninger er egnet til hydrofobering af uorganiske, hydroxyl-gruppeholdige stoffer, især af murværksoverflader. Midlet ifølge opfindelsen har som anført ovenfor den særlige fordel, at det foruden til tørt murværk også kan anvendes til imprægnering af fugtigt murværk.

Alkyltrialkoxysilanernes alkoxygrupper er fortrinsvis methoxy- eller ethoxy grupper. Alkyl trialkoxysilanemes alkylgrupper er mættede og har 1-6 carbonatomer, dvs. der er tale om methyl-, ethyl-, propyl-, butyl-, pentyl- og hexyltrialkoxysilaner eller deraf afledte, tilkondenserede produkter. Alkyltrialkoxysilanerne fås efter kendte fremgangsmåder ved forestring af de tilsvarende chlorsilaner (R-SiClj) med alkoholer; kondenserede alkyltrialkoxysilaner fås ved omsætning af esteren med vand og eventuel afdestillation af den frigjorte alkohol.
Hydrolysen af de i alkoholopløsning påførte monomere eller tilkondenserede organosilaner sker på selve underlaget. En understøttelse ved kemiske tilsætninger er ikke nødvendig. Som imprægneringsunderlag kan anvendes alle uorganiske materialer, der under en eller anden form er i besiddelse af hydroxylgruppeholdige dele, til hvilke Si-O-bindinger kan bindes. Hertil hører cement- og kalkholdige stoffer, især udvendigt puds på facader, samt stoffer som uorganiske oxider, især aluminium- og titanoxider.
Opløsningerne kan påføres de underlag, der skal imprægneres, ved påstrygning eller sprøjtning.
Den mængde, der skal påføres overfladen, afhænger i det væsentlige af dennes specielle struktur og af den ønskede hydrofobi-grad. Selv o så små mængder som 25 g/m af et imprægneringsmiddel, som består af en opløsning, der indeholder 20 vægt-% alkyltrialkoxysilan, giver gode resultater. Man kan imidlertid også anvende langt mere koncentrerede opløsninger, der kan indeholde op til 99 vægt-% alkyl-trialkoxysilaner; dog foretrækkes et imprægneringsmiddel med 20-85 vægt-% alkyltrialkoxysilaner, idet imprægneringsmidlet kan indeholde forskellige alkyltrialkoxysilaner. Ved anvendelse af alkoholiske opløsninger er virkningen uafhængig af, om underlaget før påføringen er tørt, eller om det har et vist fugtighedsindhold.
Den fulde vandafvisende virkning indtræder ca. 24 timer efter imprægneringen. Hvis det imprægnerede underlag bliver fugtigt i denne tid, skader det ikke, men det er tværtimod gavnligt for optræknings-processen.

Det omhandlede imprægneringsmiddels fordele vises i det følgende ved hjælp af nogle eksempler.
De påførte opløsningers hydrofoberende virkninger blev undersøgt ved hjælp af cylindriske emner med følgende mål: cylinderdiameter p 10 cm, højde 3 cm, overflade ca.250 cm . Disse emner blev fremstillet af 1 del portlandcement og 4 dele af et i handelen værende sand med en komstørrelse på op til 4 mm. Imprægneringsmidlet blev påført emnerne ved pensling.
Efter en tørretid på 24 timer blev emnerne anbragt i bade med en vandstand på 10 cm, hvilket svarer til en vindhastighed på 130 km/time. Vandoptagelsen blev fulgt ved vejning. Den efterfølgende tabel giver oplysning om de med butyltrimethoxysilan (BTMOS) og tilkondenseret butyl trimethoxysilan (BTMOS-K) i ethanol som opløsningsmiddel opnåede resultater. Der blev anvendt et tilkondenseret butyltrimethoxysilan, som i gennemsnit indeholdt fem Si-O-Si-enheder og havde en molekylvægt på ca. 73^ svarende til et indhold af methoxygrupper på 50,7 vægt-%.
