a) An die Stelle der bisherigen Bezeichnung der Erfindung, Beschreibung und Patentansprüche ist folgende Fassung getreten:a) Instead of the previous name of the invention, description and claims the following version has been changed:
The invention relates to an arrangement for launching grenades by means of a semi-automatic or automatic firearm Muzzle brake, the gas outlet openings of which can be closed by a sleeve for launching grenades are.
The known muzzle brakes on automatic or semi-automatic firearms exist from a pipe socket, which has holes in its side wall, which are part of the firing Let the propellant gases that develop laterally, i.e. transversely to the barrel axis, flow off. The propellants exert a reaction force on the wall of the hole that opposes the return of the weapon and therefore reduces the recoil energy and thus the recoil. Then again, it was already known to shoot grenades with a rifle instead of the usual cartridge bullets, which are placed on the barrel and forward through the pressure of a special cartridge without a projectile to be driven. These grenades are not placed directly on the gun barrel, but the barrel of the rifle is first provided with a so-called shooting cup or shooting stick. This The shooting stick consists essentially of a tube that extends the barrel and is protected from propellant gases is flowed through, the outer diameter of the shooting stick being the inner diameter a tubular sleeve that extends the grenade towards the rear and forms a hollow stem is equivalent to. The automatic ones described above and provided with a muzzle brake or semi-automatic firearms cannot, however, readily fire throw grenades be used because in the presence of a muzzle brake of the explosion of the Propellant pressure developed by the special cartridge escapes through the muzzle brake and is insufficient would fire the grenade over the required distance.
In order to also use firearms with muzzle brakes for firing throwing grenades can, therefore, on the part of the barrel that has the gas outlet openings, a perforated and rotatable sleeve arranged on the barrel, which is optionally rotated can be that their holes are aligned with the gas outlet openings of the barrel or that the sleeve jacket closes these gas outlet openings. The muzzle brake is effective in the first position and the firearm for the automatic or semi-automatic firing of ordinary projectiles suitable, while in the second position the muzzle brake is switched off and the weapon can be fired a grenade attached by means of a shooting stick is ready.
Vergißt er andererseits beim Übergang vom Granatenschießen zum gewöhnlichenHowever, this known device has proven to be unusable in practice. Namely will If a grenade is shot down with the well-known firearm, the shooter must first use the Twist the case to shoot the holes in the rifle barrel, rendering the muzzle brake ineffective close. Then he must put the usual shooting cup on the front end of the barrel, and in the end he has to push the grenade himself onto the rifle cup. Does he want from the grenade shooting go back to normal shooting, so he doesn't just have to use the shooting cup remove, but above all put the case back so that the muzzle brake again can come into effect. Especially under the nervous tension of front-line combat but it is not expected that the shooter will always carry out all the movements necessary for the transition from one type of shooting to the other are required. He forgets now before shooting one Litter grenade to twist the sleeve of the known firearm so that the gas outlet openings of the Barrel are closed, part of the propellant gas pressure developed by the special cartridge remains unused, the path of the grenade is too short, and it can be at such a distance from the Sagittarius explode that he himself is injured or killed. On the other hand, he forgets at the transition from grenade shooting to ordinary
