Abstract

344,034. Valve amplifying circuits ; filter circuits. ROBINSON, J., 76, Mill Way, Mill Hill, London. Nov. 28, 1929, No. 36536. [Class 40 (v).] A selective system comprises two mechanical resonaters fed in parallel and having slightly different resonant frequencies the outputs being combined in opposite sense so that only the signalling frequency which is intermediate the two other frequencies appears in the output since this is oppositely phase displaced by the resonators. Fig. 1 shows a pair of valves 15, 17 having parallel outputs and fed by opposite phases from circuit 10 through piezo-electric crystals 14, 16. In a modification (Fig. 2, not shown) the valves have a push pull output and are fed in parallel through separate crystals. The piezo-electric crystals may form mechanical coupling devices as shown in Fig. 3 or may be replaced by tuning forks. To prevent interference the input of the forks may be electrostatic and the output electromagnetic and screening may be employed.
