Description
- Die Erfindung betrifft das Gebiet der Vergnügungs- und Spielautomaten und insbesondere ein Verfahren und ein System, das es solchen Spielautomaten ermöglicht, mit einem zentralen Steuerungssystem in Verbindung zu treten, welches es dem Spieler oder dem Operator bzw. der Bedienungsperson ermöglicht, mit dem System in Verbindung zu treten und außerdem einen bargeldlosen Betrieb solcher Spielautomaten erlaubt.
- Spielkasinos und andere Einrichtungen haben oft eine große Anzahl einzelner Spielautomaten, wie etwa Münzautomaten und Videospielautomaten. Eine Zeitlang war es aus Gründen der Leistungsfähigkeit, der Betriebssicherheit und der Wirtschaftlichkeit wünschenswert, die Abrechnung, den Sicherheitsdienst und andere Funktionen zu automatisieren. Datenübertragungssysteme zur Lieferung von Abrechnungs- und Sicherheitsinformationen an den Kasinobetreiber wurden in den US-Patenten 4,072,930, 4,283,709 und 4,636,951 beschrieben. Die aus dem Stand der Technik bekannten Systeme zielten jedoch hauptsächlich darauf ab, Daten von den Spielautomaten an den Zentralcomputer zu liefern und waren nicht vorgesehen für eine Datenübertragung vom Zentralcomputer an die einzelnen Automaten. Außerdem haben solche Systeme keinerlei Einrichtungen vorgesehen, mit Hilfe derer ein Spieler oder ein Angestellter mit dem System in Verbindung treten kann. Ein weiterer Nachteil dieser Systeme ist der, daß ihre Funktionen sehr begrenzt waren, in erster Linie was das Melden von Abrechnungsdaten an den Zentralcomputer betrifft.
- Bisher war es für einen Spieler nicht möglich, sein Spiel zu unterbrechen, kurzzeitig den Automaten zu verlassen, dann zurückzukommen und das Spiel fortzusetzen. Es ist erwünscht, eine Reservierungsmöglichkeit vorzusehen, damit ein Spieler vorübergehend einen Automaten belegen kann.
- Weiterhin ist erwünscht, bargeldloses Spielen zuzulassen, so daß der Spieler nicht große Mengen Bargeld mit sich führen muß, und nicht in verschiedene Nennwerte wechseln muß, wenn er an verschiedenen Automaten spielen will. Ein Kreditkarten-verwendendes Spielsystem, das Zulassung (bzw. Genehmigung) und Kredit durch eine getrennte Finanzinstitution vorsieht, ist in dem US- Patent 5,038,022 offenbart. Dieses System erlaubt jedoch nicht, daß Gewinne direkt auf die Karte oder das Konto eines Spielers gutgeschrieben werden, und es sieht die Einbeziehung einer haftenden Bank bzw. Finanzinstitution vor.
- Gemäß der vorliegenden Erfindung ist ein Informationsund Kommunikationssystem zur Anwendung bei einer Vielzahl von Spielautomaten (10) vorgesehen, das einen zentralen Datenprozessor (16) und Einrichtungen (12, 14, 18) aufweist, welche den Prozessor (16) mit den Spielautomaten (10) verbinden, wobei die Einrichtungen (12, 14, 18) eine Vielzahl von Steuereinheiten (14) zur Verbindung zwischen dem Datenprozessor (16) und den Spielautomaten (10) aufweisen, und mit einer Vielzahl von Interface-Einheiten (12) zur Verbindung zwischen einem Spieler und den Steuereinheiten (14), dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß jede der Interface-Einheiten (12) mit interaktiven Einrichtungen (32) ausgestattet ist, wodurch der Spieler interaktiv mit dem Prozessor (16) verbindbar ist.
- Fig. 1 ist eine perspektivische Ansicht eines Spielautomaten;
- Fig. 2 ist eine perspektivische Ansicht der Einheit aus Sichtanzeige, Mehrfachkartenleser und Tastatur, wie sie an jedem Spielautomaten des Systems benutzt wird;
- Fig. 3 ist ein Funktions-Blockdiagramm des erfindungsgemäßen Systems.
- Das erfindungsgemäße System weist vielfache Möglichkeiten auf, einschließlich Spielabrechnung, Sicherheitsdienst, Wartung, Spielerführung und Angestellter- Spieler-Verständigung vom Automaten zum Rechner. Der in Fig. 1 dargestellte Spielautomat 10 beinhaltet die vorliegende Erfindung, die diese Funktionen und Möglichkeiten vorsieht. Das erfindungsgemäße System ist so konzipiert, daß es flexibel ist und mit vorhandenen Spielautomaten und Systemen kompatibel ist. Fig. 2 zeigt die (DMK)-Einheit 12 für Sichtanzeige, Mehrfachkartenleser und Tastenfeld, die am Gehäuse des Spielautomaten 10 gemäß Fig. 1 montiert ist. Die DMK 12 ist der einzige Teil des Systems, der für den Spieler zugänglich ist.
- Wie in Fig. 3 dargestellt ist, sind die wesentlichen Hardware-Elemente des Systems eine Steuereinheit, genannt Mastercom-Einheit bzw. MASTERCOM 14, eine DMK- Einheit 12 und ein Hauptrechner 16. Eine MASTERCOM 14 ist für jeden Spielautomaten 10 im System erforderlich und eine DMK-Einheit 12 ist für jeden Spielautomaten 10 erforderlich, für den die Sichtanzeige, der Kartenleser und die Angestellter/Spieler-Kommunikationsmöglichkeiten gewünscht werden.
- Der Hauptrechner (oder Datenanbieter) 16 kann ein Personalcomputer sein, z.B. ein IBM RT-klassifizierter oder -kompatibler sein, oder ein Minirechner, wie etwa ein DEC 1184 oder IBM RISC 6000, je nach der Größe der Installation und der Anzahl der Spielautomaten. Der Hauptrechner 16 kann auch aus zwei oder mehreren solchen miteinander verbundenen Rechnern bestehen. Der Hauptrechner 16 ist separat in dem Kasino aufgestellt, vorzugsweise in einem abgesicherten Bereich, und er kommuniziert mit der MASTERCOM-Einheit 14 über eine Rechnerschnittstelleneinheit (CIU) 18.
- Der Ausdruck MASTERCOM leitet sich von seinen Funktionen ab: Maintenance (Wartung), Accounting (Abrechnung), Security (Sicherheit), player Tracking (Spielerführung), Event Recorder (Ereignisaufzeichner) Communicator (Kommunikator) . In der bevorzugten Ausführungsform ist die MASTERCOM-Einheit 14 auf einer einzigen Schalttafel 20 untergebracht, die einen Mikroprozessor oder eine Mikrosteuerung 22 aufweist, wie etwa den Motorola MC68HC70SC8 Mikrosteuerung. Die Schalttafel 20 enthält auch Speicher, einschließlich Random-Speicher (RAM) (Direktzugriffsspeicher) und eine Art Mikroprogrammspeicher (ROM), wie etwa EEPROM. Typischerweise kann ein 128-Byte EEPROM verwendet werden, um Personality-Daten des Spieles zu speichern, und ein 32-Byte EEPROM kann zum Speichern der Abrechnungszähler verwendet werden. Die MASTERCOM-Einheit 14 ist an die DMK-Einheit 12 über einen seriellen Anschluß 24 angeschlossen. Die MASTERCOM-Schalttafel 20 ist ziemlich kompakt (in der Größenordnung von 4,5 x 6,5 Zoll) und kann bequem im Inneren des Spielautomatenschrankes 10 untergebracht werden. Die MASTERCOM- Einheit 14 wird über einen externen Netzanschluß 26 versorgt. Eine 10 Jahre haltende Lithiumbatterie ist zur Unterstützung des RAM-Speichers vorgesehen.
- Die DMK-Einheit 12 ist die Schnittstelle und die Kommunikationseinrichtung zwischen einem Spieler oder einem Angestellten und der MASTERCOM-Einheit 14. Die DMK-Einheit 12 kann direkt in dem Speicherautomatenschrank 10 oder an einen vorhandenen Schrank, wie in Fig. 1 dargestellt, angebaut werden. Wie in Fig. 2 dargestellt, beinhaltet die DMK-Einheit 12 eine 12- Zeichen-Punkt-Matrix-LED-Sichtanzeige 30, eine 12- Tasten-Benutzerschnittstellen-Tastenfeld 32 und einen kombinierten magnetischen/smart Kartenleser 34. Die in Fig. 2 dargestellte bevorzugte Ausführungsform weist auch eine 3-Farben LED 36 für die spezielle Kundenidentifikation und ein kleines Soundmodul 38 auf, um den Spieler für eine wichtige Durchsage aufzurufen. Wie die MASTERCOM-Einheit 14 wird auch die DMK-Einheit 12 durch einen Mikroprozessor 40 gesteuert, wobei man z.B. einen Motorola MC68HC705C8S benutzt. Die DMK- Einheit 12 wird von der MASTERCOM-Einheit 14 versorgt. Der Mikroprozessor 40 und der zugehörige Schaltkreis sind auf einer kleinen Schalttafel 44 montiert. Das Tastenfeld 32 und die Sichtanzeige 30 können, um Platz zu sparen, auf der Rückseite der Schalttafel 44 montiert werden.
- Die im EEPROM gespeicherte Personality ist eine Liste variabler Parameter, welche Anschriften bzw. Eingaben, Münzenbenennung, Grenzen und Merkmale enthalten, die von einem Spielautomat und/oder Kasino zu einem anderen unterschiedlich sind. Die MASTERCOM-Einheit 14 und ihr Mikroprozessor 22 funktionieren nicht richtig, wenn nicht eine gültige Personality eingesetzt wurde. Beim Einschalten, Löschen und in periodischen Intervallen testet die MASTERCOM-Einheit 14 die Personality im EEPROM und entscheiden ob sie nach Einsicht der Rechnungssumme (bzw. des Kontos) gültig ist. Wenn die Personality ungültig ist (ungedeckte Rechnungssumme) oder wenn keine existiert, zeigt die MASTERCOM-Einheit ein blinkendes "EMP CARD" auf der DMK-Einheit 12 und stoppt die Verbindungen mit dem Hauptrechner 16. Erst nach Korrektur des Problems und mindestens nachdem die MASTERCOM-Anschrift eingesetzt worden ist, nimmt die MASTERCOM-Einheit 14 die Verbindung mit dem Hauptrechner 16 wieder auf. Die Anschrift (bzw. Eingabe) ist eine vierstellige Zahl, die in eine zweistellige hexadezimale Eingabe für die MASTERCOM-Einheit umgewandelt wird. Dies ist die vom Hauptrechner 16 benutzte Eingabe, um mit der einzelnen (bzw. jeweiligen) MASTERCOM- Einheit 14 über die CIU-Einheit 18 zu kommunizieren.
- Sobald eine Angestelltenkarte in den Kartenleser 34 als Reaktion auf die Eingabeaufforderung "EMP CARD" eingesteckt ist, zeigt die DMK-Einheit 12 eine Eingabeaufforderung mit "ADDRxx" an, so daß der Angestellte sofort die Personality eingeben kann, indem er mit der Anschrift beginnt, oder er dem Hauptrechner 16 befehlen kann, die Personality als Programm zu laden. Um manuell die Personality einzugeben, beginnt der Angestellte, indem er vier Ziffern eingibt, als ASCII- Äquivalent der zweistelligen hexadezimalen Anschrift, wie in der folgenden Tabelle dargestellt ist.
- Nachdem die Anschrift eingegeben ist, fordert die Sichtanzeige 30 den Angestellten auf, der Reihe nach weitere Variable einzugeben, z.B. COIN (Münzenart), MXIN (höchster einzugebender Münzwert), etc.
- Die folgenden Einzelheiten der MASTERCOM-Personality oder Betriebsparameter können vom Kasino festgelegt sein und falls nötig über das MASTERCOM-Tastenfeld 32 geändert werden, wie im weiteren genauer erklärt wird:
- 1) Anschrift des Automatensystems
- 2) Maschinell bezahlte Jackpot-Anzeige - Mindesthöhe eines maschinell bezahlten Jackpots (in Münzen), die einen Ausnahmecode (63) bewirkt, der eine spezielle Meldung abgibt, die dem Kasinopersonal den Jackpot anzeigt, so daß es den Münzenbehälter des Automaten wieder auffüllen kann.
- 3) Höchster einzugebender Münzenwert - er wird vom MASTERCOM verwendet, um die Jackpot-Beträge zu überprüfen
- 4) Höchste Jackpot-Ziffer - sie wird in Automaten verwendet, die seriell mit dem MASTERCOM kommunizieren, um festzulegen welche Jackpot-Codes aus dem Automaten erreicht werden.
- 5) Tabelle der progressiven Jackpots - das ist eine Liste der progressiven Jackpot-ID's, die bei diesem Automaten zu erreichen sind.
- 6) Höchstanzahl der progressiven Jackpots (bei diesem Automaten erreichbar)
- 7) Mindestzahl der Münzen pro Hebelzug, die man für einen "Hot Handle" (Heißer Hebelzug) benötigt - viele Automaten erlauben, daß man in einem einzelnen Spiel mit mehreren Münzen spielt, d.h. bei einem Hebelzug an einem Münzautomaten. Wenn ein Spieler wiederholt mit mehreren Münzen spielt, wird die Bezeichnung "Hot Handle" verwendet.
- 8) Anzahl der Hebelzüge für "Hot Player" (Heißer Spieler) - das ist die Anzahl der Heißen Hebelzüge, die nötig sind, um eine "Hot Player"-Meldung auszulösen.
- 9) Zeitdauer für "Hot Player" - das ist der Zeitraum, den ein Spieler hat, um die verlangte Anzahl von "Hot Handles" zusammenzubringen.
- 10) Rückstellzeit für "Hot Player" - das ist der Zeitraum zwischen den Hebelzügen (ohne Spieleraktivität) bevor die Zeitdauer für "Hot Player" gelöscht wird.
- 11) Bedienungsknopf-Verzögerung - das ist die Zeitdauer bevor eine Bedienungsmitteilung gesendet wird; die Mitteilung wird nur gesendet, wenn der Angestellte den Spieler nicht bedient hat und die Mitteilung gestrichen hat
- 12) Abschalten Bedienungsknopf - das ist die Zeitspanne zwischen möglichen Mitteilungen nach einem Bedienungswunsch
- 13) Zeit für Angestellten-Karte - das ist die Zeitspanne bevor eine Mitteilung bezüglich einer verlassenen Karte ausgegeben wird, um eine Angestelltenkarte zu erhalten.
- 14) Zeit für Spielerkarte - das ist die Zeitspanne bevor eine Mitteilung wegen einer verlassenen Karte ausgegeben wird, um eine Spielerkarte zu bekommen.
- 15) Ausgangsbetrag für Bonus-Punkt-Countdown - das ist der Rückstellwert für die Countdown-Anzeige, der Countdown stellt auf diesen Wert zurück, wenn eine andere Spielerkarte in den Kartenleser eingesteckt wird, oder wenn sich ein Countdown-Zyklus ergeben hat.
- 16) Bonus-Punkt-Betrag, gewonnen für jeden Countdown- Zyklus - der Preisbetrag kann irgendein Vielfaches oder ein gewünschter Prozentsatz sein.
- 17) Anzahl der Münzen pro Bonus-Punkt - das ist die Anzahl der eingegebenen Münzen, die erforderlich ist, um x Bonuspunkte zu gewinnen.
- 18) Anzahl der Münzen pro Countdown-Betrag - das ist die Anzahl von eingesetzten Münzen, die notwendig ist, um den Countdown-Betrag um einen Betrag x zu vermindern.
- Die Personality beinhaltet auch eine Information für weitere kasinospezifische Funktionen, wie etwa die nachstehend besprochenen Servicewünsche und die Definition der Farben auf der dreifarbigen LED 36, um spezielle Spieler anzuzeigen.
- Die DMK 12 erhält drei Arten von Eingabedaten: Die aus einer entweder von einem Spieler oder einem Angestellten eingesteckten Karte abgelesenen Daten, auf dem Tastenfeld entweder von einem Spieler oder einem Angestellten eingegebenen Daten, und Display(Sichtanzeige)-Befehle von der MASTERCOM-Einheit 14. Die DMK 12 überträgt drei Arten von Daten direkt an die MASTERCOM-Einheit 14: Die vom Kartenleser 34 gelesenen Kartendaten, die Tastenfeldeingangsdaten vom Tastenfeld 32, und Daten der Display-Befehle, um die MASTERCOM-Einheit 14 zu informieren, daß die DMK 12 die Display-Befehle, die ihr zugesandt wurden, verarbeitet. Die Daten werden unter Benutzung des Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) 42 zu und von der MASTERCOM-Einheit übertragen. Die SPI 42 des DMK's ist als Parallelvorrichtung angeordnet. Die DMK 12 kann Daten mit einer Maximalfrequenz von 2,1 MHz empfangen, was für die beabsichtigten Zwecke als ausreichend ermittelt wird.
- Die Sichtanzeige 30 besteht aus 12 alphanumerischen Zeichen mit zugehöriger Firmware zur Steuerung. Die Firmware steuert und liefert die Zeitaufnahme und das Klassifizieren für die SPI 42, den Kartenleser 34, die Tastenfeldeingabe 32 und die angezeigten Ziffern oder Wörter. Die Sichtanzeige 30 empfängt die verschiedenen Befehle der Sichtanzeige über die SPI 42 von der MASTERCOM-Einheit 14.
- Die verschiedenen Arten von Mitteilungen beinhalten folgendes: (1) ROM rollende Mitteilung - eine im ROM gespeicherte Mitteilung läuft ständig über die Anzeige 30, wenn sich der MASTERCOM 14 im "Wartestand" befindet, d.h. wenn das Spiel nicht gespielt oder bedient wird. (2) Programmgeladene (programmierte) RAM- Mitteilungen. - Spezielle Mitteilungen, wie etwa Werbemitteilungen oder aktuelle Sportergebnisse können im System programmiert und in der Sichtanzeige dargestellt werden; (3) Jackpot-Betrag; (4) Handbezahlter Jackpot-Betrag; (5) LED 36 oder Steuerung der Soundeinheit 38; (6) Bonusinformation - Ein Spieler kann einen Bonus gewinnen bzw. verdienen oder Spielerpunkte frequentieren, indem er einen vorbestimmten Betrag ausgibt; (7) Schlechte Verbindungen - Mitteilungen, die auf Probleme beim Kommunizieren mit dem System hindeuten, und (8) Mitteilungen, die auf 8- oder 12 Stellen begrenzt sind.
- Die DMK 12 enthält vom MASTERCOM 14 verschiedene Arten von Sichtanzeigemitteilungen. Die Mitteilungen sind Einzel-Byte-Befehle, Multi-Byte-Befehle und programmierte Mitteilungen. Die DO-Mitteilungsart ist eigentlich eine 2-Byte-Mitteilung: DO plus ein Sichtanzeige- Byte, welches die DMK 12 informiert, was in der Sichtanzeige erscheinen soll. Einige Arten von Sichtanzeigebefehlen sind ROM-scroll (Verschiebung des Display- Inhalts), STANDBY, TRANSMIT, INVALID, usw., wobei jede durch einen hexadezimalen Code dargestellt ist.
- Die D1-Mitteilungsart ist eine Multi-Byte-Mitteilung gemäß der folgenden Tabelle.
- Die Mitteilungslänge ist die Anzahl der Bytes in der Mitteilung plus eines für den Sichtanzeigebefehl. Der Byte für die Sichtanzeige informiert die DMK 12 über das Format, in dem die Mitteilung anzuzeigen ist. Die Sichtanzeigebefehle beinhalten Angestelltenkartensequenz, Bonuspunkte, Jackpot mit Betrag, von Hand bezahlter Jackpot mit Betrag und die Tastenfeld- Eingabeaufforderungen des Angestellten. Die Rechnungssumme ist die Zweierkomplementsumme aller Bytes der Mitteilung.
- Es gibt drei Grundtypen von programmierten Mitteilungen: solche, bezogen auf Werbung, auf Sport und Spielerantwort. Werbemitteilungen beinhalten Notizen über besondere Ereignisse im Kasino, besondere Gebühren usw. Sportmitteilungen geben den Stand von gegenwärtigen Sportereignissen zur Information und zur Unterhaltung für den Spieler. Mitteilungen zwecks einer Spielerantwort verlangen vom Spieler, daß er eine erbetene Antwort eingibt.
- Zusätzlich zu den vom MASTERCOM 14 gegebenen Mitteilungen wird alle 100 ms eine Umfrage an DMK 12 gesandt. Eine Umfrage ist ein Einzel-Byte-Befehl (80HEX). Nachdem die Umfrage abgesandt ist, sollte DMK 12 mit einer von drei Arten von Mitteilungen antworten: Status, Tastatur oder Kartendaten. Die Statusmitteilung ist eine 3-Byte-Mitteilung, die aus folgenden Bytes besteht: ASCII S, gegenwärtiger Stand der Sichtanzeige und gegenwärtiger Stand der Karte. Wenn der Stand der Sichtanzeige nicht gleich dem der MASTERCOM ist, sendet MASTERCOM 14 die gegenwärtige Sichtanzei gemitteilung zurück. Nach 10 Versuchen löscht MASTERCOM die DMK 12.
- Die Mitteilung über das Tastenfeld ist eine Einzel- Byte-Mitteilung, die den Tastencode der gedrückten Taste enthält. Die Mitteilung der Kartendaten ist eine 9-Byte-Mitteilung gemäß folgender Tabelle:
- Die Art der zum MASTEPCOM 14 gesandten Mitteilung gibt den Kartenstatus an, wie in der folgenden Tabelle zusammengestellt ist:
- Die Länge der Mitteilung ist immer 6 Bytes. Die Kartendaten enthalten die Spieler- oder Angestellteninformation, die auf der Karte gespeichert ist. Die Rechnungssumme ist die Zweierkomplementsumme aller Bytes der Mitteilung.
- In der bevorzugten Ausführungsform ist der Kartenleser 34 ein kombinierter magnetischer und smart (Speicher) Kartenleser, z.B. eine Kombination des Tatsuno-smart- Kartenlesers 46 und eines Neuron-Magnet-Kartenlesers 48. Dies gestattet dem System beide Kartenarten anzunehmen. Obwohl die Magnetkarte allein für viele Systemfunktionen genügt, erlaubt die smart-Karte wegen ihres eingebauten Speichers zusätzliche Funktionen und ist besonders nützlich beim bargeldlosen Spielen, wie nachstehend beschrieben wird.
- Der Magnetkartenleser 48 nimmt von einer eingeschobenen Magnetkarte Bitflußdaten an. Vier Eingaben werden verwendet um die Daten und die Kartenposition zu ermitteln: Sensor auf der Kartenvorderseite, Sensor auf der Kartenrückseite, Datenstrobe bzw. Datenmarkierungsimpuls und Daten. Die Datenbits werden Bit für Bit bei jeder Datenstrobeeingabe aufgenommen und im Supplementärspeicher gespeichert. Es gibt vier codierte Aufzeichnungen auf Spur 1 des Magnetstreifens von entweder 15 oder 16 Zeichenlängen. Jeder Aufzeichnung gehen zwei Bytes von Nullen (0) voran, gefolgt von einer oder zwei START-Markierungen ($45) , 12 DATA- Zeichen, einer STOP-Markierung ($1F) und einer LRC. Die LRC ist das exklusive OR-Resultat aller Zeichen von der START-Markierung bis zur STOP-Markierung. Jedes Datenbyte ist sieben Bits lang, wobei das siebte Bit ein ungerades Paritäts-Bit ist. Diese 7-Bit-Angabe wird dann auf sechs (6) hexadezimale Datenbits umgewandelt, um es in dem System zu verwenden (siehe nachfolgende Tabelle).
- Die Zeichen für die Kartendaten sind in der nachfolgenden Tabelle dargelegt:
- Die 7-Bit Rohkartendaten werden wie folgt in hexadezimale umgewandelt:
- Wenn nur der Sensor der Kartenvorderseite zu sehen ist, was anzeigt, daß die Karte eingesteckt wird oder gestoppt ist, wird ein Zeitmesser gestartet. Wenn man den Sensor auf der Kartenrückseite nach vier Sekunden nicht sieht, wird ein Code an die MASTERCOM 14 gesandt und die Schaltuhr wird zurückgestellt. Die Schaltuhr wird auch zurückgestellt, wenn die Karte entnommen wird.
- Wenn der Sensor auf der Rückseite sichtbar ist, was angibt, daß die Karte eingeführt ist und richtig sitzt, wird die Schaltuhr des Sensors auf der Vorderseite auf Null gestellt. Wenn der Sensor auf der Vorderseite nicht sichtbar war, wird ein Code ($C7) für "schlechte Sensorvorderseite" an die MASTERCOM 14 gesandt. Sonst werden die Bitflußdaten der Rohkarte bzw. unverarbeiteten Karte analysiert. Wenn sich in einer der vier Aufzeichnungen gültige Daten befinden, wird ein $C1-Code zur MASTERCOM 14 gesandt. Wenn die Kartenablesung schlecht ist, wird ein $C3-Code gesandt. Die roh gelesenen Daten werden gelöscht, so daß die Karte beim Herausnehmen gelesen werden kann. Wenn der Sensor auf der Rückseite nicht mehr zu sehen ist, was anzeigt daß die Karte herauskommt, wird ein $C5-Code an die MASTERCOM 14 gesandt.
- Wenn kein vorderseitiger oder rückseitiger Sensor mehr da ist, ist die Karte herausgenommen. Wenn keine Rohkartendaten da sind, wird ein $C4-Code gesandt; wenn Kartendaten da sind, wird ein $C2-Code gesandt.
- Nachdem der Spieler seine gute Daten enthaltende Karte einsteckt erscheint auf der DMK 12 ein Willkommensgruß mit dem Namen des Spielers. Wenn es passend ist, werden seine angehäuften Bonuspunkte angezeigt, sowie die Beträge, die zum Spielen notwendig sind, um seinen nächsten gezahlten Bonus zu gewinnen.
- Das Tastenfeld 32 besteht aus 12 Tasten in einer 3x4- Matrix, einschließlich der Ziffern bzw. Zeichen 0-9, "CLR" (Löschen) und "ENT" (Eingabe). Die Tastatur 32 wird alle 10 ms abgerufen. Die Tastatureingangswerte werden auf gültigen Tastatureingang durch die DMK 12 überprüft und dann direkt zur MASTERCOM 14 weitergegeben. Die zur MASTERCOM 14 gesandten Tastaturcodes sind folgende:
- Der Spieler kann die Tastatur 32 benutzen, um seine PIN und Kreditersuchen für bargeldloses Spielen einzugeben, wie nachstehend beschrieben ist. Der Spieler kann die Tastatur 32 auch benutzen, um den Cocktail- Service, den Umtausch, oder den Automatenservice anzufordern, oder um den Automaten 10 zu reservieren. Die Codes können variieren, oder sie können z.B. folgende sein: 1 + ENT für Cocktail-Service, 2 + ENT für Umtausch, 3 + ENT für Service, und 4 + ENT um den Automaten 10 zu reservieren. Das Eingeben des Code für Cocktail-Service, Umtausch oder Autornatenservice sendet ein Signal an das System, um den entsprechenden Angestellten zu benachrichten, daß er antworten solle.
- Die Besonderheit des Reservierens ist eine Neuerung, die es einem Spieler ermöglicht, sein Spiel zu unterbrechen und später zu dem Automaten zurückzukommen, um das Spiel dort wieder aufzunehmen, wo er aufhörte. Nach Eingabe des Reservierungscodes startet eine Schaltuhr und der Automat geht in den Reservierungszustand über, bei dem kein anderer Spieler das Spiel aufnehmen kann. Der Spieler zieht seine Karte heraus und kann den Automat verlassen. Wenn der Spieler, der den Automaten reserviert hat, seine Karte wieder einsteckt, kann das Spiel wieder beginnen. Wenn der Spieler in einem vorbestimmten Zeitraum, z.B. 10 Minuten, nicht zurückkehrt, läuft die Besonderheit der Reservierung ab und der Automat kehrt zum Warte-Zustand zurück. Der Reservierungszustand kann auch stomiert werden, indem man eine Angestelltenkarte in den Kartenleser 34 einsteckt. Ein Angestellter kann die Reservierungsbesonderheit auch ohne Zeitlimit abrufen.
- Ein Angestellter kann die Tastatur 32 für eine Reihe von Funktionen benutzen, die dem Spieler nicht zur Verfügung stehen. Eine in den Kartenleser 34 eingesteckte gültige Angestelltenkarte ermöglicht Eingaben per Angestelltenkarte. Die DMK 12 wird zunächst folgende Serie von Statusmitteilungen anzeigen:
- Nach Abschluß des Eingabeablaufs fordert die DMK mit der Anzeige "MODE 00" auf. Der Ablauf kann jederzeit vor Erreichen des MODE 00 abgebrochen werden, indem man irgendeine Taste der Tastatur 32 drückt. Die Entnahme der Angestelltenkarte aus dem Kartenleser 34 beendet den Betriebsroutinemodus und führt die DMK 12 zum nqrmalen Betriebssystem zurück. Die Anzeige MODE 00 ist der normale Eingabe-Punkt zur Ausführung von Arbeitsvorgängen durch den Angestellten. Der Angestellte gibt den gewünschten Befehl ein und drückt dann ENT, um den Vorgang zu starten. Die Befehle des Angestellten sind READ PERSONALITY MODE (Lies Personality-Modus) (01), ALTER PERSONALITY MODE (Andere Personality-Modus) (02), TEST MODE (Prüfe Modus) (03) und "911" EMERGENCY/MESSAGE TRANSMISSION MODE (Notfall/ Nachrichten-Übermittlungs-Modus (91).
- Der READ PERSONALITY MODE gestattet dem Angestellten die Personality der MASTERCOM 14 für ein gegebenes Spiel nachzusehen. Wie oben beschrieben, ist die Personality eine Liste aus variablen Parametern, die Anschriften (bzw. Eingaben), Münzenart, Beschränkungen und Merkmale, die von einem Spiel und/oder Kasino zu einem anderen variieren, enthält. Die MASTERCOM 14 funktioniert nicht richtig, wenn nicht eine gültige Personality eingegeben wurde. Ein Angestellter kann READ PERSONALITY MODE direkt wählen ohne Genehmigung durch den Hauptrechner 16. Nur diese Betriebsweise erlaubt es dem Angestellten, die Daten nachzusehen ohne irgendwelche Änderungen vorzunehmen. Durch wiederholtes Drücken der ENT-Taste kann der Angestellte jede Zeile der Personality-Daten durchlaufen lassen. Wenn keine Personality eingegeben ist, oder wenn die Personality ungültig ist, erscheint eine bestimmte Sichtanzeige.
- Um den ALTER PERSONALITY MODE einzugeben, muß der Angestellte eine Genehmigung vom Hauptrechner 16 bekommen. Diese Sicherheitsvorkehrung verhindert unerlaubtes sich zu schaffen machen an der Automaten- Personality. Sobald die Angelegenheit vom Hauptrechner 16 bereinigt ist, kann der Angestellte unter Verwendung der ENT-Taste die Datenzeilen durchlaufen lassen und er kann unter Benutzung der Tastatur 32 Änderungen eingeben. Der Angestellte kann auch veranlassen, daß eine neue Personality vom Hauptrechner 16 geladen wird.
- Der TEST Modus veranlaßt einen routinemäßigen Selbsttest und eine Meldung in der Sichtanzeige über irgendwelche Systemprobleme oder -fehler. Im TEST Modus werden alle von der MASTERCOM 14 erhaltenen Signale angezeigt, um einen richtigen Betrieb aller Eingänge zu garantieren. Der Routinetest beachtet auch bestimmte Merkzeichen in der MASTERCOM 14 und zeigt den Auslösestatus der einzelnen Eingänge an, wenn der Angestellte die einzelnen Einheiten startet. Die genauen Versuche können in Abhängigkeit der Art der Automatenindividualität variieren. Der TEST Modus kann ohne Genehmigung durch den Hauptrechner 16 gewählt werden.
- Der EMERGENCY-911-MODUS erlaubt einem Angestellten, rasch ein Ersuchen um dringende Unterstützung an den Kasino-Sicherheitsdienst zu senden und zwar im Falle eines medizinischen oder sonstigen Notfalles. Der genaue Standort des Automaten im Kasinosaal (basierend auf seinen Eingabedaten) wird sofort an das Sicherheitspersonal übermittelt, was eine rasche Antwort erleichtert. Um diese Betriebsweise einzugeben, steckt der Angestellte seine Karte hinein und nach der Aufforderung MODE 00 gibt er ein: "91" + ENT. Dies übermittelt einen Ausnahmecode (24) an den Hauptrechner 16 mit der Aufforderung, daß man Hilfe zum Standort der MASTERCOM/DMK senden solle. Die Sichtanzeige 30 zeigt dann "TRANSMIT" (ÜBERTRAGEN) an, um dem Angestellten zu zeigen, daß der Ausnahmecode 24 übermittelt worden ist. Nachdem die MASTERCOM 14 eine Bestätigung vom Hauptrechner 16 über den übermittelten Code erhalten hat, zeigt die Sichtanzeige 30 die Mitteilung "HELP IS ... COMING" (Hilfe ... kommt). Diese Anzeige bleibt solange, bis die Angestelltenkarte entnommen ist.
- Weitere Betriebsweisen, die vorgesehen werden können, weisen einen ENTRY-(Eingangs-)Modus auf, bei welchem ein zweistelliger Code angezeigt wird, der den Grund für den Eingang in den Automat 10 angibt, d.h. eine "offene Tür"-Bedingung. Für einen Kasinobetreiber ist es aus Gründen der Sicherheit und der Durchführung wichtig, bei den Gründen für den Zugang zu einem Automaten auf dem laufenden zu bleiben. Bei WORK ORDER (Betriebszustand) Modus wird ein automatischer Arbeitsauftrag an die Reparaturwerkstatt gesandt, wenn ein Automat außer Betrieb gesetzt ist.
- Wie oben erwähnt, ist bei der bevorzugten Ausführungsform eine mehrfarbige LED 36 an der DMK 12 vorgesehen. Diese LED 36 leuchtet auf, um dem Kasinopersonal anzuzeigen, daß ein besonderer Spieler, d.h. ein "high roller" (Spitzenspieler) oder "VIP" auf dem Automaten spielt, und daß dieser einen besonderen Umgang verdienen könnte. Die Kriterien für jede Farbe können vom Kasino festgelegt werden und können sowohl auf Daten basieren, die auf der Spielerkarte gespeichert sind, als auch auf dem Betrag, mit dem gespielt wird.
- Wie in Fig. 3 dargestellt, kommuniziert jede MASTERCOM 14 mit dem Hauptrechner 16 über die CIU 18, wobei serielle Kommunikationen über symmetrische Zuleitung benutzt werden. Bis zu etwa 125 oder mehr MASTERCOM- Einheiten können an einer einzigen Leitung hängen, und in einem großen Kasino kann damit die Leitung mehrere hundert Fuß lang sein.
- Die MASTERCOM 14 ist über die Schnittstelle mit dem Spielautomaten 10 durch eine direkte Leitung und/oder RS/232-Verbindungen 50 angeschlossen. Adapter in Form von Huckepackschalttafeln können verwendet werden, um die MASTERCOM 14 über eine Schnittstelle mit unterschiedlichen Arten von Spielautomaten von verschiedenen Herstellern anzuschließen. Die MASTERCOM sieht Schnittstellen 52 mit Mehrfacheingängen vor, für das Spiel, das Aufhören, für elektronische Sicherheit und Behelfseingänge an dem Spielautomaten 10. Die MASTERCOM 14 sieht auch einen Anschluß 54 für ein progressives Spielsystem-Zwischenglied 56 vor.
- Eine auf Wunsch erhältliche Hand-Tastatur und eine Sichtanzeigeeinheit 58 ist für den praktischen Gebrauch der Angestellten vorgesehen. Dies kann besonders nützlich sein, wenn eine DMK-Einheit an einem einzelnen Spielautomaten nicht vorhanden oder außer Betrieb ist.
- Ein Aussperrstecker 59 ist ebenfalls an der MASTERCOM- Einheit 14 vorgesehen. Durch Anschluß der MASTERCOM 14 an die Münzeneinrichtung des Spielautomaten 10 ist es möglich, alle in den Automaten gesteckten Münzen auszusperren oder zurückzuweisen.
- Die MASTERCOM 14 sieht auch zusätzliche serielle Hochgeschwindigkeitsanschlüsse 60, 62 und 64 vor, für Möglichkeiten wie etwa eine Banknotenwechsler- Schnittstelle, eine Schnittstelle für ein Ticket- Ausgabegerät, oder für eine Überwachung des bargeldlosen Spielens. Der Banknotenwechsler macht es möglich, daß der Automat zusätzlich zu Münzen auch Geld annimmt. Das Ticket-Ausgabegerät kann für verschiedene Zwecke benutzt werden, wie etwa zum Ausdrucken eines Jackpot-Kontrollabschnitts für einen in die Hand gezahlten Jackpot, der nach Belieben des Spielers zum Kassierer mitgenommen werden kann, oder um Bonustikkets für bestimmte Spielstufen auszugeben, die im Kasino für Preise eingelöst werden können.
- Ein wesentlicher Vorteil der Erfindung ist die Fähigkeit, in mehreren verschiedenen möglichen Formaten ein vollständig bargeldloses Spielen zu bieten. Zu den Vorteilen des bargeldlosen Spielens gehört, daß der Spieler keine großen Bargeldbeträge bei sich haben muß oder in die richtigen Nennbeträge umtauschen muß, und zwar für jeden Automatentyp mit dem er spielen will.
- Bei einer Ausführungsform mit der Besonderheit des bargeldlosen Spielens wird eine Magnet(Kredit)-Karte benutzt. Die Betriebsweise für dieses "bargeldlose" oder "Kreditkarten"-Spielen ist folgende: Der Spieler steckt seine Magnetkarte in den Magnetkartenleser 48 oder in den kombinierten magnetischen/smart Kartenleser 34 in der DMK 12. Nach Feststellung der Karteneingabe fordert die DMK 12 den Spieler mittels der Sichtanzeige 30 auf, seine persönliche Identnummer (PIN) über die Tastatur 32 einzugeben. Wenn die PIN eingegeben ist, fordert die DMK-Sichtanzeige 30 den Spieler auf, den für das Spiel gewünschten Kreditbetrag einzugeben. Der Spieler gibt diesen Betrag über die Tastatur 32 ein. Die PIN und der Kreditbetrag werden an das System zur Überprüfung übermittelt (entweder bei einem Finanzinstitut oder im Kasino, je nach dem Ausgeber der Magnetkarte). Wenn eine richtige PIN und ein gültiger Betrag eingegeben worden ist, sendet der Hauptrechner einen Berechtigungsbetrag und einen Code an die MASTERCOM 14, und der geprüfte Betrag wird in der Sichtanzeige angegeben. Während des Spielverlaufs wird der Kontostand aktualisiert und in Dollar und Cents in der Anzeige 30 angegeben.
- Als ein Vorteil ist bei der bevorzugten Ausführungsform der Minimal- und Maximalkreditbetrag, der auf jede Anfrage erlaubt wird, eine Funktion der Automatenklasse. Z.B. kann der Gegenwert einer Münzenrolle als Minimum, und 5 Rollen als Maximum angesehen werden. Bei einem Quarter (25 Cent)-Automat, entspricht eine Rolle quarters $ 10.00, somit wäre die Mindestkreditanfrage $ 10.00 und das Maximum wäre $ 50.00, mit Zwischenbeträgen in $ 10.00-Stufen.
- Sobald der Kreditbetrag geprüft ist, kann der Spieler mit dem Automatenspiel fortfahren. An Spielautomaten, die schon mit der Möglichkeit auf Kredit zu spielen ausgerüstet sind, setzt der Spieler, indem er Schalter direkt am Spielautomaten 10 benutzt. An älteren Nicht- Kredit-Automaten kann ein separater BET-Knopf an der DMK 12-Einheit vorgesehen werden. Während des Spiels bleibt die MASTERCOM-Logik auf dem Laufenden über Kredit und Schulden, und der augenblickliche Kontostand erscheint in der Sichtanzeige. Wenn der Spieler mit dem Spielen fertig ist, kann er seinen Kontostand auf der Anzeige 30 kontrollieren und dann seine Karte herausnehmen. Nach dem Herausnehmen der Karte sendet die MASTERCOM 14 den Kontostand an den Hauptrechner 16, der seinerseits einen Code über den Mitteilungsempfang zurückgibt. Die Sichtanzeige 30 gibt dann an: "VERIFIED" (überprüft) und zeigt den vom System registrierten Kontostand an, und geht daraufhin auf den Reklameanzeigenmodus zurück.
- Bei einer weiteren, das bargeldlose Spielen einschließenden Ausführungsform wird eine "smart" (intelligent)- oder Speicherkarte benutzt. Bei dieser Kartenausführung gibt es während des bargeldlosen Spielens das System mit beschränkter Beteiligung. Der Spieler kauft bei dem Kasinokassierer oder an anderer Stelle eine Smart-Karte mit einem auf der Karte kreditierten Dollarbetrag. Dies wird sozusagen die "Bank" des Spielers. Der Spieler gibt die Karte in den Smartleser 46 oder in den kombinierten smart/Magnetkarten-Leser 34 ein und seine ID-Nummer sowie das Bankkonto wird an die MASTERCOM 14 gesandt. Es wird keine Kreditgenehmigung benötigt, weil der Spieler seine "Bank" auf seiner Karte bei sich hat. Der Spieler spielt dann normal auf dem Automaten. Jedes Setzen wird von seiner Karte subtrahiert (belastet) und sämtliche Gewinne werden auf seiner Karte addiert (gutgeschrieben). Wenn das Kartenkonto auf Null zurückgegangen ist, muß der Spieler die Karte herausnehmen und zum Kassierer gehen, um weitere Kredite für die Karte zu kaufen.
- Die Smart-Karte wird nach der Eingabe in den Leser 34 mechanisch in ihrer Lage gesperrt und bleibt gesperrt bis der Spieler die Entnahme verlangt, indem er einen Knopf drückt. In diesem Moment wird die Karte aktualisiert und der neue Kontostand an die MASTERCOM 14 gesandt.
- Eine Smart-Karte kann auch in einer weiteren Ausführungsform mit einem System mit voller Beteiligung verwendet werden. Bei dieser Ausführungsform wird die intelligente Karte in derselben Weise verwendet wie eine Magnetkarte. Jedoch hat die Smart-Karte die zusätzliche Sicherheit, daß sie das Bankkonto auf der Karte trägt, die durch das System nach Eingabe der Karte in den Leser gegenkontrolliert werden kann. Der Spieler kann das System ersuchen, seinen Kreditbetrag für die Smart-Karte durch Belastung seines Bankkontos zu erhöhen. Diese Transaktion wird einer Prüfung und Genehmigung durch das System unterzogen. Kreditbeträge können auf der Smart-Karte gespeichert und von Automat zu Automat übertragen werden. Dies ist ein eindeutiger Unterschied zur Magnetkarte, bei der die Kreditbeträge nur im System gespeichert sind. Mit der Magnetkarte muß der Spieler jedesmal, wenn er die Magnetkarte eingibt einen Kredittransfer vom System verlangen.
- Nach der obigen Beschreibung leuchtet es ein, daß die Erfindung ein Spielautomatensystem mit vielfachen Besonderheiten schafft, nicht nur, daß es dem Kasinobetreiber eine umfassende Information für das Kasino- Management liefert, sondern auch, daß es dem Spieler und dem Angestellten ermöglicht, auf das System einzuwirken. Obwohl das System bezüglich seiner Benutzung bei Spielautomaten, die dem Spieler Geld zurückgeben, beschrieben worden ist, wären viele Gesichtspunkte der Erfindung auf münzbetätigte Vergnügungsspielautomaten anwendbar.
Claims (10)
1. Informations- und Kommunikationssystem zur
Verwendung bei einer Vielzahl von Spielautomaten (10)
mit einem zentralen Datenprozessor (bzw.
Datenbearbeitungsanlage) (16) und Einrichtungen (12,14,
18) zur Verbindung des Prozessors (16) mit den
Spielautomaten (10), wobei die Einrichtungen (12,
14,18) eine Vielzahl von Steuereinheiten (14) zur
Verbindung zwischen dem Datenprozessor (16) und
den Spielautomaten (10) aufweist, und mit einer
Vielzahl von Interface-Einheiten (12) zur
Verbindung zwischen einem Spieler und den
Steuereinheiten (14),
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
jede der Interface-Einheiten (12) mit interaktiven
Einrichtungen (32) ausgestattet ist, wodurch der
Spieler interaktiv mit dem Prozessor (16)
verbindbar ist.
2. System nach Anspruch 1,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
die Interface-Einheiten (12) Sichtanzeigen (30)
und Dateneingabeeinrichtungen (32,34) aufweisen.
3. System nach Anspruch 2,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
die Eingabeeinrichtungen (32,34) eine Tastatur
(32) aufweisen.
4. System nach Anspruch 3,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
die Dateneingabeeinrichtungen (32,34) des weiteren
einen Kartenleser (34) aufweisen.
5. System nach Anspruch 4,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
der Kartenleser (34) ein kombinierter
Magnetkarten- und Speicherkartenleser (46,48) ist.
6. System nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
darin eine Einrichtung (36) zur Identifizierung
von bestimmten Spielern vorgesehen ist.
7. System nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
darin eine Einrichtung zum vorübergehenden
Reservieren eines der Spielautomaten vorgesehen ist.
8. System nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
darin eine Krediteinrichtung vorgesehen ist, um
einem Spieler einen Kredit zum Betreiben eines
Spielautomaten zu verschaffen, wobei die
Krediteinrichtung
einen Kartenleser (48) aufweist,
der es ermöglicht, daß von dem Spieler eine Karte
verwendet wird, um einen Kredit zum Betreiben des
Spielautomaten zu erbitten, und eine Tastatur (32)
als Teil jeder Interface-Einheit (12), zum
Eingeben eines Sicherheitscodes und des Betrages des
gewünschten Kredits.
9. System nach Anspruch 8,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
der Kartenleser (46,48) ein kombinierter
Magnetkarten- und Speicherkartenleser ist.
10. System nach Anspruch 9,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß
darin eine Einrichtung zum Speichern eines
Protokolls über die Gewinne eines Spielers an einem der
Spielautomaten vorgesehen ist, und zwar auf einer
Karte unter Benutzung des kombinierten
Magnetkarten- und Speicherkartenlesers (46,48).
