Description
Production of sulphite liquor. The invention relates to a method for the production of sulphite liquor using sulfur furnaces and. Cooling the Furnace gases. The cooled gases from those charged with sulfur in a known manner Furnaces are often strong and contain arsenic and consequently give rise to propriety Occasion because it is well known that selenium in particular affects the quality of the end product (paper) Spotting severely impaired. For the purpose of selenium and arsenic separation therefore, according to the invention, the furnace gases leaving the cooler are an electrical one Precipitation device supplied per se known type. In this are the gases not only from selenium and arsenic, but also completely from SO3 and sulfuric acid freed and thus result in a clean gas that is perfect for the production of sulphite liquor. Since S03 can no longer get into the absorption towers, the process still has the further advantage that blockages and malfunctions due to gypsum formation to be avoided in the towers with certainty.
