Description
Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Inhibierung der Korrosion
von Kupfer, sowie Zusammensetzungen die im Kontakt mit Kupfer stehen
und bestimmte Triazol-Korrosionsinhibitoren für Kupfer enthalten.
Es ist bekannt, dass Kupferoberflächen korrodieren, wenn sie mit
wässrigen oder nicht wässrigen Medien in Berührung kommen. Ferner
können solche Kupferkorrosionsprodukte die Zersetzung von organischen
Medien katalysieren, die in Kontakt mit solchen korrodierten
Kupferoberflächen stehen, oder können die Korrosion von weiteren
vorhandenen Metallen, wie z. B. Eisen oder Aluminium verursachen.
Viele Verbindungen mit verschiedensten Strukturen wurden als
Korrosionsinhibitoren für Kupfer zur Verwendung von wässrigen
Systemen oder funktionellen Flüssigkeiten vorgeschlagen.
Unter vielen andern erwiesen sich Derivate von 1,2,4-Triazol als
wirksame Verbindungen. So sind z. B. in der EP-A 25 863 3-Amino-5-
alkyl-1,2,4-triazole als Korrosionsinhibitoren für Nichteisenmetalle
in wässrigen Systemen beschrieben. In früheren Publikationen sind
ganz verschiedene 1,2,4-Triazolverbindungen, wie 3,5-disubstituierte
1,2,4-Triazole, als Korrosionsinhibitoren für Metalle in verschiedensten
Systemen beschrieben. So sind z. B. in der JP-A
51-10 186 3,5-Diaryl-1,2,4-triazole, weiter in der JP-A 51-10 187
3,5-Dialkyl(oder -benzyl)-1,2,4-Triazole, in der JP-Kokai 48-62 634
durch Kohlenwasserstoffreste oder Heterozyklen 3,5-disubstituierte
1,2,4-Triazole und in der JP-Kokai 54-78 481 3-Alkyl-, 3-Aryl- und
3-Aralkyl-substituierte 1,2,4-Triazole als Korrosionsinhibitoren
beschrieben.
In Corrosion Science 1980, Vol. 20, Seiten 1195-1200 werden
3-Mercapto-5-aryl-1,2,4-triazole als Korrosionsinhibitoren, jedoch
nicht für Kupfer, sondern für Flussstahl beschrieben.
Gegenüber diesem Stand der Technik, der mehrere korrosionsinhibierende
1,2,4-Triazolstrukturen für verschiedene Metalle beschreibt,
wurde überraschend gefunden, dass gewisse 1,2,4-Triazolderivate
hervorragende Korrosionsinhibierende Wirkung für Kupfer in
verschiedensten Medien wie z. B. in funktionellen Flüssigkeiten und
wässrigen System zeigen.
Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft demgemäss ein Verfahren zur
Inhibierung der Korrosion von Kupfer oder einer Kupferlegierung,
dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Kupferoberfläche oder die
Oberfläche der Kupferlegierung mit einer korrosionsinhibierenden
Menge einer Verbindung der Formel I in Kontakt gebracht wird,
worin R1 Wasserstoff oder SH ist, und R2 geradkettiges oder verzweigtes
C2-C20-Alkyl, C5-C12-Cycloalkyl, C7-C13-Aralkyl, unsubstituiertes
oder durch Nitro- oder Hydroxygruppen substituiertes
Phenyl oder Naphthyl, Pyridyl, Morpholinyl, Pyrrolidinyl, Piperidyl,
Perhydroazepinyl oder einen Rest der Formel II bedeutet,
mit der Massgabe, dass, wenn R1 Wasserstoff ist, R2 nicht gleichzeitig
C2-C20-Alkyl, C7-C13-Aralkyl oder unsubstituiertes Phenyl
oder Naphthyl sein kann;
oder wenn R1 Wasserstoff ist, kann R2
a) einen C6 oder C10-Arylen-Rest der Form X-Arylen mit X als Rest der Formel III darstellen, oder
b) einen Rest X mit X in der vorstehenden Bedeutung darstellen oder
c) einen C1-C8-Alkylen-Rest, der gegebenenfalls durch Sauerstoff-, Stickstoff- oder Schwefelatome unterbrochen ist, der Form X-Alkylen mit X in der vorstehenden Bedeutung darstellen.

a) einen C6 oder C10-Arylen-Rest der Form X-Arylen mit X als Rest der Formel III darstellen, oder
b) einen Rest X mit X in der vorstehenden Bedeutung darstellen oder

Stellt R2 C2-C20-Alkyl dar, so handelt es sich um geradkettige oder
verzweigte Alkylsubstituenten wie beispielsweise um Ethyl, n-Propyl,
iso-Propyl, n-Butyl, sec.-Butyl, n-Pentyl, n-Hexyl, n-Heptyl,
n-Octyl, 2-Ethylhexyl, n-Nonyl, n-Decyl, n-Dodecyl, n-Tetradecyl,
n-Hexadecyl, n-Octadecyl oder n-Eicosyl.
Ist R2 C5-C12-Cycloalkyl, so handelt es sich beispielsweise um
Cyclopentyl, Cyclohexyl, Cyclooctyl, Cyclodecyl, Adamantyl oder

Bei R2 in der Bedeutung von C7-C13-Aralkyl handelt es sich beispielsweise

Stellt R2 C1-C8-Alkylen dar, so handelt es sich beispielsweise um

Ist R2 durch Sauerstoff-, Stickstoff- oder Schwefel unterbrochenes

Stellt R2 C6 oder C10-Arylen -X dar, so handelt es sich bei C6-C10-

Viele Verbindungen der Formel I sind bekannt, einige spezifische
Verbindungen jedoch sind neu, nämlich die der Formel IV,
worin n die Zahlen 2, 3 oder 4 bedeuten, welche einen weiteren
Gegenstand der Erfindung bilden.
Die Verbindungen der Formel I, sowohl die bekannten wie auch die
neuen, können nach an sich bekannten Verfahren hergestellt werden.
Beispielsweise können die Verbindungen der Formel I, worin R1
Wasserstoff bedeutet, entweder durch
a) Cyclisierung der entsprechenden Acylamidrazone nach dem durch Heinz, Hilgetag und Jahnchen in Chem. Ber. (1968) 101, p. 2033, beschriebenen Verfahren; oder durch
b) Deaminierung der entsprechenden 3-Amino-1,2,4-triazol-Verbindungen gemäss dem von Bachman und Heisey in J. Amer. Chem. Soc. (1949), 71, p. 1985 beschriebenen Verfahren; oder durch
c) Desulfurierung der entsprechenden 3-Mercapto-1,2,4-triazol- Verbindung nach dem von Hoggarth in J. Chem. Soc. 1949, p. 1160 beschriebenen Verfahren hergestellt werden.

Die Verbindungen der Formel I, worin R1 eine Mercaptogruppe bedeutet,
können beispielsweise durch a) Cyclisierung der entsprechenden
Acylthiosemicarbazid-Verbindungen nach der Methode von
Dutta et al., J. Indian Chem. Soc., (1968), 45, p. 338; oder durch
b) Kondensation des geeigneten Carbonsäureesters mit Thiosemicarbazid
gemäss der von Willems und Vandenberghe in Bull. Soc. Chim.
Belges, (1966), 75, p. 358 beschriebenen Methode hergestellt
werden.
Die Verbindungen der Formel IV können durch Desulfurierung der
entsprechenden, bekannten 3,3′-Alkylen-bis-1,2,4-triazol-
5-thione (Willems und Vandenberghe) nach der von Jones und
Ainsworth in J. Amer. Chem. Soc. (1953), 75, Seite 4915 beschriebenen
Weise hergestellt werden.
Die Verbindungen der Formel I können mit der zu schützenden Kupferoberfläche
auf die verschiedensten Weisen in Kontakt gebracht
werden. So kann beispielsweise die Kupferoberfläche in eine mit
einer Verbindung der Formel I getränkte Folie verpackt werden, oder
die Kupferoberfläche kann in eine Lösung, z. B. eine wässrige, eine
Verbindung der Formel I enthaltende Lösung, getaucht werden.
Ueblicherweise jedoch, steht die Kupferoberfläche in stetem Kontakt
mit einem Substrat, das diese Kupferoberfläche korrodieren kann. In
einem solchen Fall kann die Kupferoberfläche wirksam gegen Korrosion
geschützt werden, indem eine korrosionsinhibierende Menge einer
Verbindung der Formel I dem Substrat beigefügt wird.
Daher betrifft die vorliegende Erfindung auch eine Zusammensetzung
enthaltend ein mit Kupfer oder einer Kupferlegierung in Kontakt
stehendes Substrat und eine die Kupferkorrosion inhibierende Menge,
bevorzugt 0.0001 bis 5 Gew.-% bezogen auf die Gesamtmenge des
Substrates, einer Verbindung der Formel I.
Beispiele für Substrate, die gemäss der vorliegenden Erfindung
verwendet werden können, umfassen funktionelle Flüssigkeiten wie
beispielsweise Schmiermittel auf Mineralöl-, Poly-alphaolefin- oder
synthetischer Carbonsäureester-Basis; Hydraulikflüssigkeiten auf der
Basis von Mineralölen, Phosphatestern, wässrigen Polyglykol/-
Polyglykolether-Mischungen oder Glykol-Systemen; Oel-in-Wasser oder
Wasser-in-Oel-Systeme; Metallbearbeitungsflüssigkeiten auf Mineralöl-
oder wässriger Basis; Kühlflüssigkeiten für Motoren auf der
Basis von Wasser oder wässriger Glykol-, Ethylen- oder Propylenglykol-
Methanol-Gemischen; Transformatoren- oder Schalteröle; weiter
wässrige Systeme wie beispielsweise industrielle Kühlwasserkreisläufe;
wässrige Klimaanlagen-Systeme; Dampferzeugungsanlagen;
Meerwasserverdampfungsanlagen, hydrostatischer Kocher und geschlossene
Heiz- oder Kühlsysteme auf wässriger Basis.
Zur Anwendung in funktionellen Flüssigkeiten auf Oel-Basis werden
Verbindungen der Formel I bevorzugt, worin R1 Wasserstoff ist, und
R2 eine oleophile Gruppe, insbesondere C5-C12-Cycloalkyl oder
substituiertes Phenyl oder Naphthyl darstellt.
Andererseits werden zur Anwendung in wässrigen oder auf Glykol- oder
Wasser/Glykol-basierenden funktionellen Flüssigkeiten Verbindungen
der Formel I bevorzugt, worin R1 Wasserstoff oder SH bedeutet, und
R2 geradkettiges oder verzweigtes C4-C7-Alkyl, unsubstituiertes oder
durch Nitro- oder Hydroxygruppen substituiertes Phenyl oder
Naphthyl, C7-C13-Aralkyl oder einen Rest der Formel X-(CH2) n - mit
X in der vorstehenden Bedeutung und n gleich 0 bis 8, insbesondere
aber 0 bis 4, darstellt mit der Massgabe, dass, wenn R1 Wasserstoff
ist, R2 nicht gleichzeitig C4-C7-Alkyl, unsubstituiertes Phenyl oder
Naphthyl oder C7-C13-Aralkyl sein kann.
Die Verbindungen der Formel I, worin R1 SH bedeutet, werden bevorzugt,
als prä-formulierte Alkali Metall- (bevorzugt Natrium) oder
organische Amin-Salze in die funktionelle Flüssigkeit eingearbeitet,
oder sie werden in einer wässrigen funktionellen Flüssigkeit gelöst,
indem zu dieser eine entsprechende Menge eines Alkali- (bevorzugt
Natrium) Hydroxyids zugegeben wird.
Die Verbindungen der Formel I, worin R1 Wasserstoff ist, können als
neutrale Species zur funktionellen Flüssigkeit zugegeben werden.
Diese Zugabeweise ist bevorzugt, wenn solche Verbindungen in
funktionellen Flüssigkeiten auf Oelbasis eingearbeitet werden.
Andererseits werden zur Anwendung in funktionellen Flüssigkeiten auf
nicht-öliger Basis die Verbindungen der Formel I entweder in
alkalischer oder saurer Lösung verwendet. In alkalischer Lösung wird
bevorzugt Natriumhydroxid als Base verwendet, in saurer Lösung wird
die Verwendung einer Mineralsäure wie beispielsweise Salzsäure,
Schwefel- oder Phosphorsäure bevorzugt.
Stellt die funktionelle Flüssigkeit ein synthetisches Schmiermittel
dar, so handelt es sich beispielsweise um Schmiermittel auf der
Basis eines Diesters einer dibasischen Säure und eines einwertigen
Alkohols, z. B. Dioctylsebacat oder Dinonyladipat; eines Triesters
von Trimethylolpropan und einer einwertigen Säure oder einem Gemisch
solcher Säuren, z. B. Trimethylolpropantripelargonat, Trimethylolpropantricaprylat
oder deren Gemische, eines Tetraesters von
Pentaerythrit und einer einwertigen Säure oder einem Gemisch solcher
Säuren, z. B. Pentaerythrittetracaprylat; oder auf der Basis von
komplexen Estern, die sich aus einwertigen und zweiwertigen Säuren,
sowie mehrwertigen Alkoholen herleiten, wie z. B. ein Komplexester
aus Trimethylolpropan, Caprylsäure und Sebacinsäure; oder von
Gemischen solcher komplexer Ester.
Weitere synthetische Schmiermittel sind dem Fachmann geläufig und
z. B. in "Schmiermittel-Taschenbuch" (Huethig Verlag, Heidelberg,
1974) beschrieben. Besonders gut geeignet sind, neben den bevorzugten
Mineralölen, beispielsweise Phosphatester, Glykole, Polyglykole,
Polyalkylenglykole und Poly-alphaolefine.
Um die Gebrauchseigenschaften weiter zu verbessern, können die
erfindungsgemässen funktionellen Flüssigkeits-Zusammensetzungen
weitere zusätzliche Additive enthalten, wie beispielsweise für
Systeme auf Oelbasis, ein oder mehrere Antioxidantien, Metallpassivatoren,
weitere Korrosions- oder Rostinhibitoren, Viskositätsindex-
Verbesserer, Stockpunkterniedriger, Dispergiermittel/Tenside
oder Verschleissschutzadditive; und für wässrige Systeme beispielsweise
ein oder mehrere Antioxidantien, Metallpassivatoren, weitere
Korrosions- oder Rostinhibitoren, Hochdruck- oder Verschleissschutzadditive,
Komplexierungsmittel, Fällungsinhibitoren, Biocide,
Puffersubstanzen oder Schaumbrecher.

Tritolyl-phosphat, chlorierte Paraffine, Alkyl- und
Aryldisulfide.
Bei der Behandlung von ausschliesslich wässrigen Systemen, wie z. B.
Kühlwassersystemen, Airconditioning-Systemen, Dampferzeugungsanlagen,
Meerwasser-Verdampfungsanlagen, hydrostatischen Kochern und
geschlossenen Heizungs- oder Kühlsystemen, können weitere Korrosionsinhibitoren
verwendet werden, wie z. B. wässerlösliche
Zinksalze, Phosphate, Polyphosphate, Phosphonsäuren und ihre Salze,
wie z. B. Acetodiphosphonsäure, Nitrilo-tris-methylen-phosphonsäure
und Methylamino-dimethylenphosphonocarbonsäuren und ihre Salze wie
z. B. in der Deutschen Offenbarungsschrift No. 26 32 774 beschrieben,
Hydroxyphosphonoessigsäure, 2-Phosphonobutan-1,2,4-tricarbonsäure
und die in der Britischen Patentschrift No. 15 72 406 beschriebenen;
Nitrate wie z. B. Natriumnitrat; Nitrite wie z. B. Natriumnitrit;
Molybdate wie z. B. Natriummolybdat, Wolframate, Silikate wie z. B.
Natriumsilikat, Benztriazol, Bis-benztriazol oder Kupfer passivierende
Benztriazol- und Tolutriazolderivate oder deren Mannichbasenderivate;
N-Acylsarcosine; N-Acylimino-diessigsäuren, Ethanolamine;
Fettamine; Polycarbonsäuren wie z. B. Polymaleinsäure und
Polyacrylsäure sowie deren Alkalisalze, Copolymere von Maleinsäureanhydrid
wie z. B. Copolymere von Maleinsäureanhydrid und sulfoniertem
Styrol, Copolymere der Acrylsäure, wie z. B. Copolymere von
Acrylsäure mit hydroxyalkylierter Acrylsäure, sowie substituierte
Derivate von Polymaleinsäuren und Acrylsäuren und deren Salze. Im
weitern können die erfindungsgemäss verwendeten Inhibitoren in
solchen ausschliesslich wässrigen Systemen zusammen mit weitern
Dispergierungs- und/oder Antifällungsmitteln wie z. B. Polyacrylsäure
(oder deren Salze), Phosphinopolycarbonsäuren (wie in der
Britischen PS 14 58 235 beschrieben), die in der EP-A 1 50 706
beschriebenen cotelomeren Verbindungen, hydrolysiertes Polyacrylnitril,
Polymethacrylsäure und deren Salze, Polyacrylamid und
dessen Copolymere mit Acryl und Polyacrylsäuren, Ligninsulfonsäuren
und deren Salze, Tannin, Naphthalinsulfonsäure/Formaldehyd Kondensationsprodukte,
Stärke und Stärkederivate, Cellulose, Acrylsäure/
Niederalkyl-hydroxyacrylat-Copolymere wie in der US-Patentschrift
No. 40 29 577 beschrieben, Styrol/Maleinsäureanhydrid-Copolymere
und Styrolsulfonsäure-Homopolymere wie z. B. in der US Patentschrift
43 74 733 beschrieben und Kombinationen davon, verwendet werden.
Spezifische Antifällungsmittel wie z. B. 2-Phosphonobutan-1,2,4-tri-
carbonsäure, Acetodiphosphonsäure, hydrolysiertes Polymaleinanhydrid
und seine Salze, Alkylphosphonsäuren, Hydroxyphosphonoessigsäure,
1-Aminoalkyl-1,1-diphosphonsäuren und ihre Salze sowie Alkali-Polyphosphate
können ebenso verwendet werden.
Auch Fällungsmittel wie Alkali-Orthophosphate und Carbonate,
Sauerstoffänger, wie Alkalisulfite und Hydrazine, Komplexierungsmittel,
wie Nitrilotriessigsäure und deren Salze, Schaum-brechende
Mittel, wie Silikone wie z. B. Polydimethylsiloxane, Distearylsebacamid,
Distearyladipamid und ähnliche von Ethylenoxid- und/oder
Propylenoxidkondensationen abgeleitete Produkte, Additionsprodukte
von Fettalkoholen, wie Caprylalkohle und deren Kondensationsprodukte
mit Ethylenoxid, ferner Biocide wie z. B. Amine, quaternäre Ammoniumverbindungen,
Chlorphenole, schwefelhaltige Verbindungen, wie
Sulfone, Methylen-bis-thiocyanate und -Carbamate, Isothiazolone,
Brompropionamide, Triazine, Phosphoniumverbindungen, Chlor und Chlor
abgebende Stoffe und Organometallverbindungen wie Tributyl-zinnoxid
können zusätzlich eingesetzt werden.
Die Verbindungen der Formel I vereinigen hervorragende Kupferdeaktivierende
Eigenschaften mit guter Löslichkeit in Substraten auf
Wasser- und Oel-Basis.
Die folgenden Beispiele erläutern die vorliegende Erfindung. Alle
nachstehenden Angaben bezüglich Teile und Prozente beziehen sich auf
Gewichtsteile und Gewichtsprozente. Die Beispiele 1 und 2 sind
Vergleichsbeispiele.
Eine 0,006%ige Lösung einer zu prüfenden Verbindung der Formel I
wird in Wasser, das 0,132 g/l MgSO4 · 7H2O und 0,68 g/l CaCl2 · 6H2O
(Wasser gemäss DIM 51360-Test) enthält, hergestellt und der pH-Wert
der Lösung wird mit Natriumhydroxid auf 8.5 eingestellt. Ein Stück
Kupferfolie (20 × 50 × 0,1 mm) wird durch Reiben mit Watte, welche mit
Wasser und gepulvertem Bimstein getränkt ist, gereinigt, getrocknet
und gewogen. Danach wird die Kupferfolie vollständig in 50 ml der
vorbereiteten Lösung in einer 60 ml Flasche mit Schraubverschluss
eingetaucht. Die Flasche wird 24 Stunden in einen Ofen bei 70°C
gebracht. Nach dieser Zeit wird der Streifen herausgenommen,
gewaschen, getrocknet und die Farbe gemäss ASTM D 130 Farbbewertung
bestimmt. Anschliessend wird die Folie während 15 Sekunden in 5 N
Salzsäure bei 20°C getaucht, gewaschen, getrocknet und gewogen.
Die Resultate sind in Tabelle 1 wiedergegeben.
Gemäss ASTM D 130 Bewertung entspricht 1 keiner bis leichter Anlauffarbe,
2 mässiger Anlauffarbe, 3 dunkler Anlauffarbe und 4 entspricht
Korrosion; A, B und D bedeuten Abstufungen in der
numerischen Einteilung.
Eine 0,2%ige Lösung einer zu prüfenden Verbindung der Formel I wird
in einer Frostschutz-Formulierung enthaltend

Die 0,2%ige Prüf-Formulierung wird anschliessend mit Wasser gemäss
ASTM D 1384 auf 33 Vol.-% verdünnt, dass eine Prüf-Substanzkonzentration
von 666 ppm resultiert.
Ein gereinigter, gewogener Kufperfolienstreifen (7,62 × 1,27 cm) wird
während 48 Stunden in die Lösung getaucht, durch die Luft mit einer
Durchflussrate von 1 1/Stunde geleitet wird während die Temperatur
der Lösung auf 78-82°C gehalten wird. Nach Beendigung wird der
Kupferstreifen aus der Lösung herausgenommen, mit deionisiertem
Wasser gewaschen, während 15 Sekunden in 5 N Salzsäure bei 20°C
getaucht und anschliessend gewaschen und gewogen.
Das Aussehen der Prüflösung und des Kupferstreifens wird beurteilt
und der Gewichtsverlust in mg aufgenommen.
Die Resultate sind in Tabelle 2 wiedergegeben.
Zwei saubere, gewogene Kupferstreifen (50 × 25 × 1 mm) werden in 200 ml
einer 500 ppm NaCl-Lösung in destilliertem Wasser bei pH 7 gehängt,
die die gewünschte Menge an Verbindung der Formel I enthält.
Der Test läuft während 65 Stunden + 1 Stunde bei 40°C, wobei Luft
mit einer Durchflussrate von 500 ml/Minute durch die Lösung geleitet
wird, und der etwaige Verlust durch Verdunstung mit destilliertem
Wasser aufgefüllt wird.
Nach der Reinigung werden die Gewichtsverluste der beiden
Kupferstreifen bestimmt und die Korrosionsrate in mg/dm2/Tag (mdd)
berechnet.
Die Resultate sind in Tabelle 3 wiedergegeben.
Eine 0,05%ige Lösung der zu prüfenden Verbindung der Formel I in
Mineralöl der Turbinenölqualität, das zusätzlich 50 ppm gelösten
Schwefel enthält, wird hergestellt.
Ein Kupferstreifen (60 × 10 × 1 mm) wird mit Siliciumcarbidpulver der
Körnung 100, das mit einem mit Petrolether genetztem Wattebausch
aufgenommen wird, poliert. Der polierte Streifen wird sogleich
vollständig in die vorbereitete Lösung eingetaucht, welche 2 Stunden
auf 100°C erhitzt wird. Nach dieser Zeit wird der Streifen
herausgenommen, mit Petrolether gewaschen, getrocknet und seine
Farbe mit der Kupferstreifen Korrosions-Standardtafel gemäss ASTM
D 130 verglichen.
Das Resultat ist in Tabelle 4 wiedergegeben.
11,4 g 3,3′-Ethylen-bis-(1,2,4-triazolin-5-thion) wird in kleinen
Portionen unter Rühren zu einem Gemisch aus 10 ml konzentrierter
Salpetersäure, 20 ml Wasser und 0,05 g Natriumnitrit bei 45-50°C
zugefügt. Nach vollständiger Zugabe wird das Gemisch auf Eis gekühlt
und mit 50%iger NaOH-Lösung neutralisiert, worauf 3,3′-Ethylen-bis-
1,2,4-triazol als weisser Festkörper ausfällt und abfiltriert wird.
Das Produkt wird mit wenig Wasser gewaschen und anschliessend im
Vakuum getrocknet.

Claims (19)
1. Verfahren zur Inhibierung der Korrosion von Kupfer oder einer
Kupferlegierung, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die Kupferoberfläche
oder die Oberfläche der Kupferlegierung mit einer korrosionsinhibierenden
Menge einer Verbindung der Formel I in Kontakt gebracht
wird,
worin R1 Wasserstoff oder SH ist, und R2 geradkettiges oder verzweigtes
C2-C20-Alkyl, C5-C12-Cycloalkyl, C7-C13-Aralkyl, unsubstituiertes
oder durch Nitro- oder Hydroxygruppen substituiertes
Phenyl oder Naphthyl, Pyridyl, Morpholinyl, Pyrrolidinyl, Piperidyl,
Perhydroazepinyl oder einen Rest der Formel II bedeutet,
mit der Massgabe, dass, wenn R1 Wasserstoff ist, R2 nicht gleichzeitig
C2-C20-Alkyl, C7-C13-Aralkyl oder unsubstituiertes Phenyl
oder Naphthyl sein kann;
oder wenn R1 Wasserstoff ist, kann R2
a) einen C6 oder C10-Arylen-Rest der Form X-Arylen mit X als Rest der Formel III darstellen, oder
b) einen Rest X mit X in der vorstehenden Bedeutung darstellen oder
c) einen C1-C8-Alkylen-Rest, der gegebenenfalls durch Sauerstoff-, Stickstoff- oder Schwefelatome unterbrochen ist, der Form X-Alkylen mit X in der vorstehenden Bedeutung darstellen.

5. Verfahren gemäss Anspruch 4, worin R2″ C4-C10-Alkyl bedeutet.
6. Zusammensetzung enthaltend ein mit Kupfer oder einer Kupferlegierung
in Kontakt stehendes Substrat und eine die Kupferkorrosion
inhibierende Menge einer Verbindung der Formel I nach Anspruch 1.
7. Zusammensetzung gemäss Anspruch 6, worin die Menge der Verbindung

Substrates beträgt.
8. Zusammensetzung gemäss Anspruch 6, worin das Substrat eine
funktionelle Flüssigkeit bedeutet.
9. Zusammensetzung gemäss Anspruch 8, worin die funktionelle
Flüssigkeit ein Schmiermittel, eine Hydraulikflüssigkeit, ein
Oel-in-Wasser- oder Wasser-in-Oel-System, eine Metallbearbeitungsflüssigkeit
auf Mineralöl- oder wässriger Basis, eine Kühlflüssigkeit
für Motoren auf der Basis von Wasser, wässrigen Glykol-,
Ethylen- oder Propylenglykol-Methanol-Gemischen oder ein Transformatoren-
oder Schalter-Oel ist.
10. Zusammensetzung gemäss Anspruch 8, worin die funktionelle
Flüssigkeit auf Oelbasis ist, und in der Verbindung der Formel I R1
Wasserstoff und R2 eine oleophile Gruppe ist.
11. Zusammensetzung gemäss Anspruch 10, worin R2 C5-C12-Cycloalkyl
oder substituiertes Phenyl oder Naphthyl bedeutet.
12. Zusammensetzung gemäss Anspruch 8, worin die funktionelle
Flüssigkeit eine Flüssigkeit auf der Basis von Wasser, Glykol oder
Wasser/Glykol ist, und in der Verbindung der Formel I R1 Wasserstoff
oder SH und R2 C4-C7-Alkyl, unsubstituiertes oder durch Nitro- oder
Hydroxygruppen substituiertes Phenyl oder Naphthyl, C7-C13-Aralkyl
oder einen Rest der Formel X-(CH2) n - mit X in der in Anspruch 1
definierten Bedeutung und n gleich 0 bis 8 sind, mit der Massgabe,
dass, wenn R1 Wasserstoff ist, R2 nicht gleichzeitig C4-C7-Alkyl,
unsubstituiertes Phenyl oder Naphthyl oder C7-C13-Aralkyl sein kann.
13. Zusammensetzung gemäss Anspruch 8, worin die funktionelle
Flüssigkeit auf Oelbasis ist und zusätzlich ein oder mehrere
Antioxidantien, Metallpassivatoren, weitere Korrosions- oder
Rostinhibitoren, Viskositätsindex-Verbesserer, Stockpunkterniedriger,
Dispergiermittel/Tenside oder Verschleissschutzadditive
enthält.
14. Zusammensetzung gemäss Anspruch 8, worin die funktionelle
Flüssigkeit auf einem wässrigen System basiert und zusätzlich ein
oder mehrere Antioxidantien, Metallpassivatoren, weitere Korrosions-
oder Rostinhibitoren, Hochdruck- oder Verschleissschutzadditive,
Komplexierungsmittel, Fällungsinhibitoren, Biocide, Puffersubstanzen
oder Schaumbrecher enthält.
15. Zusammensetzung gemäss Anspruch 6, worin das Substrat ein
industrieller Kühlwasserkreislauf, ein wässriges Klimaanlagen-
System, eine Dampferzeugungsanlage, eine Meerwasserverdampfungsanlage,
ein hydrostatischer Kocher oder ein geschlossenes Heiz- oder
Kühlsystem auf wässriger Basis bedeutet.
16. Zusammensetzung gemäss Anspruch 15, worin das Substrat ein oder
mehrere Korrosionsinhibitoren, Dispergier-/oder Antifällungsmittel,
Fällungsmittel, Sauerstoffänger, Schaumbrecher oder Biocide enthält.
17. 3,3′-Ethylen-bis(1,2,4-triazol)
18. 3,3′-[1,3-Propylen]-bis(1,2,4-triazol)
19. 3,3′-[1,4-Butylen]-bis(1,2,4-triazol)
