Description
Das Hauptpatent betrifft em Verfahren zum Verbinden der Bandenden eines Kunststotibandes, insbesondere
eines Umreifungsbandes aus Polyester, bei dem zwischen die übereinanderliegenden Bandenden ein
Drahtgewebestück eingelegt und erhitzt wird, bei dem die Leitfähigkeit der in der Nähe der Stirnränder quer
zur Längsrichtung der Bandenden verlaufenden Drähte kleiner ist als die Leitfähigkeit der Drähte im mittleren
Bereich und wobei gleichzeitig oder anschließend die Bandenden mit dem dazwischenliegenden Drahtgewebestück
aufeinandergepreßt werden. Hierdurch wird erreicht, daß das Kunststoffband im Bereich der
Stirnränder des Drahtgewebestückes weniger erweicht und eine Schwächung des Bandes in diesem Bereich
vermieden wird.
Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, den Gegenstand des Hauptpatentes durch Verwendung eines besonders
ausgebildeten Drahtgewebestückes zu verbessern und weiter auszugestalten.
Nach der Erfindung kann die erwünschte unterschiedliche Wärmeleitfähigkeit im Drahtgewebestück dadurch
erreicht werden, daß die in der Nähe der Stirnränder angeordneten, quer zur Längsrichtung der Bandenden
verlaufenden Drähte des Drahtgewebestückes aus Kunststoff bestehen oder mit Kunststoff ummantelt
sind.
Drahtgewebestücke dieser Art können von einem durchlaufenden Drahtgewebeband abgeschnitten werden,
dessen Kettfäden im Randbereich aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff bestehen. Derartige Drahtgewebebänder
sind verhältnismäßig einfach herzustellen, da der Durchmesser der Kettdrähte auf der ganzen Breite
gleich ist. Gleichwohl ist die Wärmeleitfähigkeit an den Rändern des Drahtgewebebandes und der hiervon
abgeschnittenen Stücke erheblich geringer, wenn die Randdrähte aus Kunststoff oder aus kunststoffummantelten
Metalldrähten bestehen, deren metallischer Querschnitt dann gegenüber dem Querschnitt der
Metalldrähte im mittleren Bereich kleiner ist und die mit einer wärmeisolierenden Kunststoffschicht umgeben
sind.
Besonders zweckmäßig ist es, wenn für die Ummantelung bzw. für die Kunststoffdrähte in der Rindzone
ίο selbst ein zu dem Kunststoff der Bandenden affiner,
thermoplastischer Kunststoff verwendet wird. Die Kunststoffdrähte bzw. die Kunststoffummantelung im
Randbereich schmilzt dann, wenn sich die metallischen Teile des Drahtgewebestückes beim Anschluß an eine
I:·. Stromquelle oder durch Induktion erwärmen. Hierdurch
werden Kerbspannungen im Randbereich des Drahtgewebes vermieden. Außerdem werden die Bandenden im
Verbindungsbereich durch den Auftrag zusätzlichen Materials aus den Kunststoffdrähten bzw. der Kunststoffummantelung
an der Verbindungsstelle verstärkt.
Besonders einfach ist es, wenn als Verbindungsmittel Stücke eines Drahtgewebebandes verwendet werden,
dessen Stirnränder mit thermoplastischem Kunststoff ummantelt sind. Ein derartiges Drahtgewebeband kann
in sehr einfacher Weise dadurch hergestellt werden, daß der Gewebebandstreifen mit seinen Rändern in ein Bad
mit flüssigem, thermoplastischem Kunststoff getaucht oder in erhitztem Zustand in dem bekannten Wirbelsinterverfahren
mit seinen Rändern durch pulverisierten Kunststoff geleitet wird, der sich hierbei an den
Gewebebandrändern anlagert.
Das Verfahren nach der Erfindung wird durch die Zeichnung an Ausführungsbeispielen näher erläutert. Es
zeigt
Fig. 1 zwei nach dem Verfahren der Erfindung miteinander verbundene Bandenden eines Kunststoffbandes
mit eingeschweißtem Drahtgewebestück in einer Draufsicht,

In den Zeichnungen sind mit 18 und 25 die Bandenden eines Kunststoffbandes, beispielsweise eines Umreifungsbandes
aus Polyester, bezeichnet, die an ihrer Verbindungsstelle 50 miteinander verschweißt sind. Zu
diesem Zwecke ist zwischen die Bandenden 18 und 25 eh Drahtgewebestück 21 eingelegt, das durch Anlegen
an eine elektrische Stromquelle oder induktiv erhitzt wird, während gleichzeitig oder anschließend die
Bandenden 18 und 25 mit dem dazwischenliegenden Drahtgewebestück durch eine hier nicht näher dargestellte
Vorrichtung aufeinandergepreßt werden.

eo ausgebildet, daß sich beim Verschweißen im mittleren Teil eine feste Schweißzone 36 und in der Nähe der
Stirnränder 26 und 27 Entlastungszonen 41 ausbilden, in denen die sehr dichte und innige Verschweißung 36 in
eine weniger innige Verzahnung übergeht. Dies wird
(,5 nach der Erfindung durch eine besondere Ausgestaltung
des Drahtgewebestückes erreicht.
Während die in Längsrichtung der Bandenden 18 und 25 verlaufenden Schußdrähte 51 aus Metall bestehen
und über die ganze Breite fldes Drahtgewebestückes 21
durchlaufen, bestehen die Kettdrähte 52 bei dem in Fi g. 2 dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel nur im mittleren
Bereich b aus Metall. In der Nähe der Stirnränder 26 und 27 hingegen bestehen die Kettdrähte 53 aus
Kunststoff und haben den gleichen Querschnitt wie die Kettdrähte 52 aus Metall im mittleren Bereich. Beim
Anlegen einer elektrischen Spannung an das Drahtgewebestück 21 erwärmen sich diese in den Entlastungszonen 41 liegenden Kettdrähte 53 aus Kunststoff nicht,
so daß die Verzahnung der Bandenden 18 und 25 im Bereich dieser Entlastungszonen weniger innig ist als im
mittleren Bereich Ader Verschweißung 36.
Bei dem in Fig.3 dargestellten Ausführungsbeispiel
bestehen auch die Kettdrähte 53 in den Entlastungszonen 41 aus Metall, sie sind aber wesentlich dünner als die
Kettdrähte 52 und mit einer Ummantelung 54 aus einem zum Kunststoff der Bandenden 18 und 25 affinen,
thermoplastischen Kunststoff versehen. Beim Erhitzen des Drahtgewebestückes 21 erwärmen sich deshalb die
Randzonen 41 des Drahtgewebestürkes 21 weniger. Gleichzeitig scnmiizt die Kunststoffummantelung 54 der
Kettdrähte 53 und verbindet sich mit dem kunststoff der Bandenden 18 und 25, zwischen denen das
Drahtgewebestück 21 liegt.
In Fig.4 ist ein drittes Ausführungsbeispiel gezeigt,
bei dem das Drahtgewebestück 21 auf seiner ganzen Breite ßaus gleich dicken Metalldrähten 52 besteht, die
durch in Längsrichtung der Bandenden verlaufende Schußdrähte 51 verwebt sind. Hier sind jedoch die
Stirnränder 26 und 27 mit einer Beschichtung 55 aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff versehen, welche nicht
nur die Kettdrähte 52, sondern auch die Schußdrähte 51 in den Randzonen 41 umschließt. Diese Beschichtung
wird zweckmäßig dadurch hergestellt, daß das Drahtgewebeband, aus dein die einzelnen Stücke 21 geschnitten
werden, mit seinen Rändern 26 und 27 durch ein Bad mit flüssigem Kunststoff oder in erhitztem Zustand durch
ein Sinterbecken geführt wird, das mit pulverisiertem Kunststoff geführt ist.
Ebenso wie bei der Ausführungsform nach F i g. 3 schmilzt die Randbeschichtung 55 des Drahtgewebestückes,
wenn dieses erwärmt wird. Die Beschichtung verhindert hierdurch einen direkten Wärmeübergang
von den erhitzten Drähten 51 und 52 zu den Bandenden 18 und 25 in den Randbereichen <i und verstärkt
gleichzeitig die zur Verfügung stehende .'viaterialdicke
in diesen Bereichen, so daß eine Verminderung der Festigkeit durch Kerbwirkung mit Sicherheit vermieden
wird.

Claims (3)
1. Verfahren zum Verbinden der Bandenden eines
Kunststoffbandes, insbesondere eines Umreifungsbandes aus Polyester, bei dem zwischen die
übereinanderliegenden Bandenden ein Dran (gewebestück
eingelegt und erhitzt wird, bei dem die Leitfähigkeit der in der Nähe der Stirnränder quer
zur Längsrichtung der Bandenden verlaufenden Drähte kleiner ist als die Leitfähigkeit der Drähte im
mittleren Bereich und wobei gleichzeitig oder anschließend die Bandenden mit dem dazwischenliegenden
Drahtgewebestück aufeinandergepreßt werden, nach Patent 2641373.0-16, dadurch gekennzeichnet,
daß die in der Nähe der Stirnränder (26, 27) angeordneten, quer zur Längsrichtung
der Bandenden (18, 25) verlaufenden Drähte (53) des Drahtgewebestücks (21) aus Kunststoff bestehen oder mit Kunststoff ummantelt
sind.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß für die Ummantelung (54) bzw. für die
Kunststoffdrähte (53) in der Randzone selbst ein zu dem Kunststoff der Bandenden (18, 25) affiner,
thermoplastischer Kunststoff verwendet wird.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Stirnränder (26, 27) des
Drahtgewebestückes (21) mit einer Beschichtung (55) aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff versehen
sind.
