Description
Organische Massen mit korrosionsinhibierenden Eigenschaften
Die Erfindung betrifft verbesserte organische Massen und gemäß einer Ausführungsform insbesondere verbesserte
organische Massen, die ein organisches Grundmedium aufweisen, welches geeignet ist, korrosive Schädigung von Metalloberflächen
unter Gebrauchsbedingungen zuzulassen.
Es ist dem Fachmann bekannt, daß organische Massen, welche organische Grundmedien, beispielsweise Öle von
Schmierviskosität, Fet te, Brennstoffe, iiösungs mittel und
andere Arten flüssiger kohlenwasserstoffhaltiger Massen, enthalten, geeignet sind, korrosive Schädigung von Oberflächen,
mit denen sie in Berührung kommen zuzulassen, beispielsweise Öle, die als Schmiermittel in Verbrennungskraftmaschinen oder als Schmiermittel für verschiedene Arten
mechanischer Elemente, in denen Schmiermittel verwendet werden, wie beispielsweise Getriebeöle, Schneidöle
und andere Formen von Schmiermitteln, verwendet werden.

Es ist auch bekannt, daß andere organische Medien, wie beispielsweise FettZubereitungen, Kohlenwasserstoffbrennstoffe,
beispielsweise Benzin, Dieselbrennstoff, Turbinenbrennstoffe und Kohlenwasserstofflösungsmittel
gleichfalls befähigt sind, unerwünschte korrosive Schädigung zuzulassen. In dieser Hinsicht wurden verschiedene
Arten von Korrosionsinhibitoren vorgeschlagen-, um unerwünschte korrosive Schädigung herabzusetzen oder
zu verhindern. Jedoch verblieb trotz Einarbeitung dieser Inhibitoren noch ein Bedarf an einem weiteren wirksameren
korrosionsinhibierenden Effekt, insbesondere mit
Bezug auf die Verwendung höher entwickelter gegenwärtiger organischer Massen der vorstehend angegebenen Art.
Gemäß der Erfindung werden verbesserte organische Massen angegeben, die einen Hauptanteil an organischem
Grundmedium aufweisen, das normalerweise geeignet ist, korrosive Schädigung zuzulassen, wobei diese Massen einen
kleineren Anteil, der ausreicht, diese Verschlechterung zu inhibieren, eines Salzes enthält, das durch Umsetzung
eines Imidazoline oder eines Diamins mit einer α-substituierten
Essigsäure der Formel
R1XCH2COOH
worin X Sauerstoff, Schwefel oder die Aminogruppe NIL,;
R1 einen Alkyl-, Aryl-, Alkaryl-, Aralkylrest oder ein
Wasserstoffatom bedeuten und wenn X die Gruppierung NR2
ist, R1 einen Acylrest oder einen substituierten Acyl-
rest darstellt und R2 einen Alkyl-, Aryl-, Alkaryl-,
Aralkylrest oder ein Wasserstoffetom bedeutet.

Jedes beliebige Imidazolin oder Diamin kann zur Umsetzung mit der α-substituierten Essigsäure unter Bildung des korrosionsinhibierenden Salzes verwendet werden.
Beispiele für das Imidazolinreaktionsmittel sind solche

Imidazoline wie Dodecenylimidazolin und Heptadecenylimidazolin.
Beispiele für das Diamin-Reaktionsmittel sind solche Diamine wie 3-Aroinomethy1-3,5,5-trimethyleyelohexylamin,
N-Heptadecyl-1,3-propandiamin, Äthylendiamin
und Hexylendiamin. Jede α-substituierte Essigsäure
der oben beschriebenen Struktur kann zur Umsetzung mit den Imidazolin- oder Diaminreaktionsteilnehroern
verwendet werden. Beispiele für diese substituierten Essigsäuren sind n-Octylthioessigsäure, Uony!phenoxyessigsäure
und Oleylsarcosin. Die Umsetzung zwischen den oben erwähnten Komponenten kann bei Raumtemperatur
oder gegebenenfalls bei erhöhter Temperatur durchgeführt werden.
Soweit es die spezifischen Reaktionsteilnehmer zur
Bildung des gewünschten Salzes als korrosionsinhibierendem
Zusatz betrifft, können die Torstehenden Reaktionsteilnehmer in stöchiometrischen Anteilen verwendet werden.
Im allgemeinen wird das Imidazolin oder das Diamin mit der Essigsäure in einem äquivalenten Gewichtsverhältnis
von etwa 30:1 bis etwa 0,1:1 und bevorzugt in einem äquivalenten Gewichtsverhältnis von etwa 15*1 bis etwa
0,3:1 umgesetzt. Was die Menge des in das organische Grundmedium eingearbeiteten Salzes betrifft, kann jede
beliebige Menge, in kleinerem Anteil, die ausreichend'ist,
das gewünschte Ausmaß an Antikorrosionseffekt zu erteilen, angewendet werden. Im allgemeinen wird das Salz in einer
Menge von etwa 0,001 biß etwa 10 $>
und bevorzugt in einer Menge von etwa 0,1 bis 5 Gew.-# des Gesamtgewichts der
organischen Masse verwendet.
Das Salz kann getrennt vorher hergestellt und anschließend in das organische Grundmedium eingearbeitet
werden oder es kann gegebenenfalls in situ durch gesonderte Einarbeitung der vorstehenden Reaktionsteilnehmer
In das Grundmedium gebildet werden.

Wie nachstehend durch Vergleichsdaten genauer erläutert, wurde gefunden, daß unerwartete und deutlich
höhere Ausmaße an korrosionsinhibierenden Effekten unter
Verwendung des vorstehenden Reaktionsproduktes aus dem Imidazolin oder Diamin mit der α-substituierten Essigsäure
als Korrosionsinhibitor erhalten werden können als unter Verwendung der gleichen Menge jedes Reaktionsteilnehmers gesondert. Im wesentlichen ist ersichtlich,
daß durch Umsetzung des Imidazolins oder Diarains mit der Essigsäure im Gegensatz zur einzelnen Verwendung der vorstehenden
Reaktionsteilnehmer als Korrosionsinhibitoren ein synergistischer Effekt vorliegt, selbst obgleich die
gleiche Menge an Inhibitor in 3edem Fall verwendet wird.
Die folgenden Beispiele und Vergleichsdaten dienen zur Erläuterung der neuen organischen Massen der Erfindung
und der signifikanten korrosionsinhibierenden Wirkung,
die durch Einarbeitung der oben beschriebenen Salze in Kombination mit organischen Grundmedien erhalten werden.
Gemäß den in der nachfolgenden Tabelle angegebenen Daten wies das verwendete Lithiumhydroxystearat-Grundfett
ein durch Lösungsmittel gereinigtes naphthenisches Mineralöl mit einer SUS-Viskosität von 56 bei 990C (21O0F)
auf, das mit 15 Gew.-# lithiumhydroxystearat-Seife und
0,5 Gew.-^ Antioxidationsmittel zu einem glatten Fett
einer unbearbeiteten Penetration von 220 und einer bearbeiteten Penetration (60 Schläge) von 228 verdickt war.
Das Calciumacetatkomplex-Grundfett wies ein durch Lösungsmittel gereinigtes naphthenisches Mineralöl mit
einer SUS-Viskosität von 70 bei 990C (2100P) auf, das durch
einen Calciumacetatkomplexverdicker (gemäß Beispiel 6 der US-PS 2 898 297) und 0,5 Gew.-# Antioxidationsmittel
zu einem glatten Fett mit einer unbearbeiteten Penetration von 246 und einer bearbeiteten Penetration (60 Schläge)
von 248 verdickt war.

Das modifizierte Ton-Grundfett wies ein paraffiniscbes Mineralöl mit einer SUS-Viskosität von'62 bei 990C (2100P)
auf, das durch 11 Gew.-$ eines oleophilen Tonverdickungsmittels
(gemäß Beispiel 4 der US-PS 2 531 440) und 0,5 Gew.-% eines Antioxidationsmittels zu einem glatten Fett
mit einer unbearbeiteten Penetration von 245 und einer bearbeiteten Penetration (60 Schläge) von 265 verdickt
war.
Sämtliche Proben mit oder ohne zugesetzten Rostinhibitoren v/urden auf einer heißen Platte bei 1210C (25O0F)
Oberflächentemperatur in einer Dreiwalzendruckfarbstoffmühle
homogenisiert und dem Standardtest zur Bestimmung von Korrosion, Rust Preventive Properties of Lubricating
Greases ASTM-Methode D-1743, unterzogen.
Der Salzlüsungsplattentest umfaßt das Überziehen der frisch geschliffenen Oberfläche einer kalt gewalzten
Stahlplatte mit einer Fettprobe, die wässrige Salzlösung (1 Teil Salzlösung, die 25 Gew.-$ Natriumchlorid in Wasser
enthält, emulgiert in 4 Gew.-Teilen Fettprobe) enthält. Nach 3-wÖchigem Aufbewahren der überzogenen Platte bei
540C (1300F) und einer relativen Feuchtigkeit von 100 #
wird sie von Fettüberzug freigewischt und die Korrosionsfleckenbildung der Plattenoberfläche wird bewertet. Die Bewertung
'keine bedeutet frei von jeglicher Flockenbildung; die Bewertung umfangreich bedeutet, daß die Korrosionsfleckenbildung
die gesamte Oberfläche bedeckt.' Spuren^ leichte und mittlere", sind dazwischenliegende Bewertungen.

Wie sich aus den Daten der vorstehenden Tabelle ergibt, wird eine deutliche Verbesserung im synergistischen
Effekt mit Bezug auf die Korrosionsinhibierung durch Verwendung der Kombination von Imidazolin oder
Diamin mit der α-substituierten Essigsäure bei Eildung des vorstehend erwähnten Salzproduktes im Vergleich zur
Verwendung jedes Reaktionsteilnehmers einzeln, obgleich
in gleicher Menge wie der des Salzes, erhalten. Diese Wirkung ist deutlich aus den Ergebnissen der Beispiele
4, 8, 12 und 16 der Tabelle zu erkennen.
Es ist klar, daß die verbesserten organischen Massen
der Erfindung gewünschtenfalls verschiedene andere Zusätze
oder Gemische derartiger weiterer Zusätze enthalten können, um die Eigenschaften weiter zu verbessern.
Somit können die organischen Massen der Erfindung Zusätze wie Hochdruckmittel, Antioxidantien, Antischaumbildungsmittel,
Detergentien, Dispergiermittel und dergleichen enthalten. Ferner können andere Imidazoline,
Diamine oder α-substituierte Essigsäuren anstelle der vorstehend zum Zweck der Erläuterung beschriebenen eingesetzt
werden. Die Erfindung wurde vorstehend anhand bevorzugter Ausführungsformen beschrieben, ohne darauf begrenzt
zu sein.

Claims (7)
- Patentansprüche1· Schmiermittel und normalerweise flüssige Kohlenwasserstoffbrennstoffe, die korrosive Schädigung zulassen können, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sie eine zur Inhibierung dieser Schädigung ausreichende Menge eines Salzes enthalten, das durch Umsetzung von Dodecenylimidazolin, Heptadecenylimidazolin, 3-Aminomethyl-3,5,5-trimethylcyelohexylamin, N-Heρtadecy1-1,3-propandiamin, Äthylendiamin oder Hexylendiamin mit einer α-substituierten Essigsäure der Formel R1XCH2COOH, worin X Sauerstoff oder Schwefel und R- einen Alkyl-, Aryl-, Alkaryl-, Aralkylrest oder ein Wasserstoffatom bedeuten, erhalten wurde.
- 2. Masse nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Salz 0,001 bis 10 Gew.-$ ausmacht.
- 3. Masse nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Salz 0,1 bis 5 Gew.-$ ausmacht.
- 4. Masse nach Anspruch 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Imidazolin oder das Diamin mit der Säure in einem äquivalenten Gewichtsverhältnis von 30:10 bis 0,1 :1 umgesetzt ist.
- 5· Masse nach Anspruch 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Gewichtsverhältnis 15:1 bis 0,3:1 beträgt.
- 6. Masse nach einem der vorstehenden Ansprüche, da- . durch gekennzeichnet, daß die Säure aus n-Oetylthioessigsäure besteht.
- 7. Masse nach Anspruch 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Säure aus Nonylphenoxyessigsäure besteht.509817/0887
