Description
[Co(II) (R-NH- NH,)2] X,
ist, in der R Wasserstoff", Alkyl-, -Aralkyl-, Aryl-
oder Halogenarylgruppen und X ein Halogenatom bedeutet
2. Anstrichmittel nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es die Kobalt(II)-hydrazino-halogenid-KompIexe in einer Menge von 0,0001-10%
enthält
3. Anstrichmittel nach Anspruch I oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es ein organisches Peroxid als Oxidationsmittel in Mengen von 0,05-5%
enthält
4. Anstrichmittel nach Anspruch 1-3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß es Pigmente oder Farbstoffe
enthält
Die Erfindung betrifft Anstrichmittel auf der Basis eines trocknenden Alkydharzes oder eines ungesättigten Polyesterharzes, die einen Kobalt(II)-hydrazinohalogcnid-Komplex als Trocknungsmittel enthalten.
Diese Anstrichmittel können klar oder pigment-oder
farbstoffhaltig sein.
Das Härten oder Trocknen von Anstrichmitteln auf Alkydharzbasis wird häufig mit verschiedenen Metallsalzen katalysiert Bevorzugt werden hierfür Kobaltseifen, da sie die Bildung freier Radikale an den
ungesättigten Bindungen der Anstrichmittel am stärksten beschleunigen. Die freien Radikale katalysieren
einen Autoxydationsprozeß, der eine Vernetzung innerhalb des Filmes bewirkt. Die bisher verwendeten
Kobaltsalze haben jedoch verschiedene Nachteile. Zum Beispiel führen sie bei Anwendung in für technisch akzeptable Trocknungszeiten erforderlichen
Mengen zu erheblicher Runzelbildung. Aus diesen Gründen war es bisher im allgemeinen erforderlich,
einen Teil des Kobaltsalzes durch ein anderes Metallsalz zu ersetzen, um die Runzelbildung zu vermeiden.
Dies führte jedoch zu einer wesentlichen Verlängerung der Trocknungszeit, so daß man durch Zugabe
von Verbindungen, wie 1,10-Phenanthrolin, 2,2'-Bispyridin oder 8-Hydroxychinolin, versuchte, den Trocknungsprozeß zu beschleunigen. Die genannten Verbindungen stellen gute Acceleratoren dar, sind aber
viel zu kostspielig, um sich technisch in den erforderlichen Mengen einsetzen zu lassen. Außerdem
führen sie zu Verfärbungen des Anstrichfilms. So kann
1,10-Phenanthrolin nur in Mengen von höchstens 0,05 Gew.-% des Anstrichmittels eingesetzt werden.
Bei Verwendung größerer Mengen vergilbt der Anstrichfilm. In Mengen von 0,05 Gew.-% wird die Trock
nung jedoch nicht so beschleunigt, um die höheren Kosten zu rechtfertigen.
Man hat auch schon Hydrazine als Beschleuniger für die Trocknung von Alkydharzanstrichen vorge-
ί schlagen. Auch sie führen zu erheblichen Verladungen,
zu RunzelbjJdung und Zersetzungserscheinungen. Außerdem sind sie nicht so wirksam wie erwünscht
Bekannt ist auch, daß die Vernetzung von ungesättigten Polyestern, wie styrol- oder butadienmodifi-
U) zierten Polyesterharzen, <J\irch Sauerstoffübertragung
vor sich geht, wobei man organische Peroxide für die Bildung freier Radikale und die obengenannten
Kobaltcarboxylate als Cokatalysatoren verwendet, die
zu guten Härtungseigenschaften und guter Form
beständigkeit führen. Das ungesättigte Polyesterharz
erfordert jedoch eine verhältnismäßig lange Zeit zum Gelieren. Versucht man, diese durch Erhöhen der
Kobaltmenge zu verkürzen, treten leicht weibliche
Verfärbungen auf. Darüber hinaus sind alle Kobalt
carboxylate dann unbrauchbar, wenn die Polyester
harzmasse Wasser enthält
In der US-PS 2961331 ist die Verwendung verschiedener Pyridinverbindungen, unter anderem von
2-Pyridinaldazin, als Beschleuniger für kobalthaltige
und andere Trockenmittel vorgeschlagen. Die zur Herstellung der Azine erforderlichen Pyridinaldehyde sind
kostspielig, doch wird die Anwesenheit des Pyridinkerns als wichtig angesehen.
Man weiß schließlich, daß Hydrazine mit Übergangs-
jo metallen beständige Koordinationskomplexe oder
Chelate bilden. Mit Kobalthalogeniden entstehen die als Dihydrazino-Verbindungen bekannten, in der Literatur beschriebenen 2 :1-Komplexe. Hydrazin selbst,
reagiert leicht mit Kobalt(II)-chlorid, z. B. unter BiI-
j5 dung des Dihydrazino-Komplexes
[Co(II)(N2H4)JCI2.
Unter bestimmten Bedingungen kann auch der unbeständige Hexahydrazino-Komplex
[Co(II) (N2H4J6] Cl2
entstehen, in dem das Hydrazin als einzähliger Ligand wirkt.
Die erfindungsgemäßen Anstrichmittel auf der Basis
trocknender Alkydharze oder ungesättigter Polyester enthalten Kobalt(II)-hydrazino-halogenid-Komplexe
der allgemeinen Formel
[Co(II) (R-NH- NHj)2] X2
ω in der R Wasserstoff, Alkyl-, Aralkyl-, Aryl- oder
Halogenarylgruppen und X ein Halogenatom bedeutet, als Trocknungsmittel. Überraschenderweise wurde gefunden, daß diese Verbindungen sowohl in wasserfreier fester Form als auch gelöst in verschiedenen
organischen Lösungsmitteln, wie Ketonen, Aldehyden, Amiden, Estern, Alkoholen oder Aminen, wirksame
Katalysatoren für unter Sauerstoffübertragung ablaufende chemische Reaktionen darstellen.
Die Dihydrazino-Komplexe haben eine tetraediscbe
oder planare Konfiguration, in der das Kobalt tetrakoordinativ gebunden ist Nachfolgend ist ein solcher
Komplex schematisch dargestellt:

Vorzugsweise sind diese Komplexsalze die einzige Kobaltquelle in dem zu härtenden System, jedoch
können sie auch teilweise durch herkömmliche kobalthaltige Trockenmittel, wie KobaK 2-äthylhexoat,
Kobaltnaphthenat, Kobaltneoderinoat, Kobaitresinat
und ähnliche Verbindungen ersetzt werd-n.
Die erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Kobaltkomplexe sind bekannt und können nach bekannten Verfahren
hergestellt werden, wie sie z. B. von Audrieth u. Mitarb, in »The Chemistry of Hydrazine« (Wiley 1951),
von Ahmed u. Mitarb, in Z. Anorg. Chem. Bd. 330, S.210-216 (1964), von Nicholls u. Mitarb, in
J. Amer. Soc. (A), 1966, S. 950-952, von Clemens u. Mitarb, in Inorg. Chem. (1963), Bd. 2, S. 1251
und von Nicholls u. Mitarb, in J. Chem. Soc, 1964,
S. 4204 beschrieben sind.
Erfindungsgemäß einsetzbare Kobaltkomplexe sind z. B. Kobalt(II)-dihydrazino-chlorid, Kobalt(II)-dihydrazino-bromid, Kobalt(H)-di-(phenylhydrazino)-chlorid, Kobalt(ll)-di(phenylhydrazino)-bromid und Kobalt(II)-di-(methylhydrazino)-chlorid. Geeignete Lösungsmittel für die Kobaltkomplexe sind beispielsweise
Cyclohexanon, Benzaldehyd, Dimethylformamid, Dimethylsulfoxid, n-Propylalkohol, Propylenglykol, Methylacetoacetat, Essigsäureanhydrid, N,N-Dimethylanilin, Aceton, Methyläthyl keton, Methylamylketon,
Isophoron, Diäthylketon, Di-n-propylketon, Diisopropylketon, Di-n-butylketon, Diisobutylketon, Di-sek,-butylketon, Di-tert.-butylketon, Di-n-amylketon, Methyl-n-propylketon, Pinakolin, 6-Methyl-2-heptanon,
Methyl-n-octylketon, Äthyl-n-butylketon, 1-Hydroxy-2-propanon, 3-Hydroxy-2-butanon, Diacetonalkohol,
Cyclobutanon, Cyclohexanon, 2-Methylcyclohexanon, Cycloheptanon, Fenchon, Acetophenon, Benzophenon
(geschmolzen). Diacetyl, Acetylpropionyl, Acetylaceton, Mesityloxid, Hexanon-(3), Furfurol. Acetyldehyd,
Propionaldehyd, Butyraldehyd, Isobutyraldehyd, Valeraldehyd, Heptaldehyd, Glyoxal, o-Chlorbenzaldehyd,

Phenylacetat, Äthylpropionat, Methylbutyrat, Amylvaleriat, Heptyllaurat, Äthylpalmiiat. Diäthyloxalat,
phthalat, Dibutylphthalat, Methylsalicylat, Äthylaceto
acetat und Phenylacetoacetat.
oben dargelegt durch freie Radikale eingeleitet, deren Bildung man durch die Verwendung organischer Peroxide erreichen kann. Die Zersetzungsgeschwindigkeit
der Peroxide unter Bildung freier Radikale hängt von der Art des Peroxids und der angewandten Temperatur
ab und kann durch Zugabe von Acceleratoren oder Inhibitoren beeinflußt werden. Durch die Zugabe von
Acceleratoren ist es möglich, die Zersetzung des Peroxids in freie Radikale bei Temperaturen zu erreichen,
die unter den bei alleiniger Verwendung des Peroxids
erforderlichen liegen.
Bei der Behandlung ungesättigter Polyesterharze mit Katalysator-Accelerator-Kombinationen zeigen diese
Gelier- und Härtungseigenschaften, die von der Art der verwendeten Kombination abhängen. Bei der Ver
netzung durchlaufen die Harze einen kritischen Punkt,
an welchem die Viskosität sehr plötzlich ansteigt (Gelierpunkt), worauf sie dann langsam in einer exothermen Polymerisationsreaktion aushärten.
Sowohl die Gelierzeit als auch die exotherme Här
tungswärme haben einen wesentlichen Einfluß auf die
physikalischen Eigenschaften des fertigen Produktes und auf die Verarbeitbarkeit des Harzes für verschiedene Verwendungszwecke.
Bisher stellen Kobaltc?rboxylate, wie Kobaltnaph
thenate, die wirksamsten Acceleratoren dar. Ihre An
wendbarkeit ist jedoch begrenzt, und die Gelierzeit eines mit Methyläthylketonperoxid katalysierten ungesättigter. Polyesterharzes kann mit diesen Acceleratoren nur um 50% verkürzt werden. Die Härtungs*
zeit, ausgedrückt in Minuten bis zum Erreichen der Temperaturspitze der exothermen Polymerisationsreaktion, beträgt mehr als eine halbe Stunde, wobei
das Härtungsverhalten nicht durch einfache Erhöhung des Metallgehaltes im Polymeren verbessert werden
kann.
Es wurde nun festgestellt, daß die obengenannten Kobalt(Il)-dihydrazino-halogenid-Komplexe eine etwa
zwanzigmal so starke katalytische Wirksamkeit besitzen wie Kobaltcarboxylate.
b', So stellte man bei Verwendung dieser Kobaltkomplexe in Verbindung mit Acylperoxiden Gelierzeiten
für ungesättigte Polyester von nur wenigen Sekunden fest. Eine weitere vorteilhafte Eigenschaft dieser Acce-
leratoren ist ihre vielseitige Verwendbarkeit als Gelier-
und Härtungsmodifikatoren. Durch Variation des Peroxid/Accelerator-Verhältrusses
kann die Gelierzeit und die Härtungsgeschwindigkeit ungesättigter Polyestersysteme
je nach den Fabrikationserfordernissen be- ·-, liebig variiert werden. Außerdem vermindern diese
Acceleratoren die verzögernde Wirkung der Luft auf die Härtung dünner Überzugsfilme aufgrund der vorhandenen
großen Mengen Sauerstoff, da die Kobalthydrazinokomplexe selbst den Sauerstoff als Quelle
für die Bildung freier Radikale benutzen. So konnten dünne Filme durch bloße Zugabe geringer Mengen
von Kobalt(II)-hydrazino-halogenid-Komplexen ausgehärtet werden. Die Wirksamkeit der Kobalt-Acceleratoren
wird noch bei Verwendung in Mengen von is 0,001 Gew.-% des Harzes beobachtet. Sie können in
Mengen bis zu 5% oder sogar 10% (in Lösung oder anderweitig) verwendet werden. Bei Verwendung noch
größerer Mengen tritt eine für manche Zwecke unerwünschte
Verfärbung des Harzes durch das Katalysatorsystem auf.
Die Peroxide können bei der Vernetz! ag ungesättigter
Polyester in Mengen von 0,05 bis 5%, bezogen auf das Polymere, verwendet werden. Geeignete Peroxide
sind Methyläthylketonperoxid, Dicumylperoxid, Benzoylperoxid, Cumolhydroperoxid, Di-(tert.-butylperoxid),
m-Bis-(a-tert.-Butylperoxyisopropyl)-benzol, Methylisobutylketon-peroxid, Cyclohexanonperoxid,
Methyl-tetrahydrofuran-hydroperoxid, Bis-(4-ch!orbenzoyl)-peroxid,
Phthalylperoxid, Dilauroylperoxid, jo tert.-Butylperacetat, Diacetylperoxid, Di-(2,4-dichlorbenzoyl)-peroxid,
Dipelargonylperoxid, 3,5-Dihydroxy-3,5-dimethyl-l,2-dioxacyclopentan,
tert.-Butylperoxybenzoat, tert.-Butylperoxy-(2-äthylhexanoat), 0,0-tert.-Butyl-O-isopropylmonoperoxycarbonat,
2,5-Dimethyl-2,5 - di - (benzoylperoxy) - hexan, tert. - Butylperoxy-2-äthylbutyrat),
2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-di-(2-äthylhexanoylperoxy)-hexan, Di-tert.-butyldiperoxyphthalat, 0,0-terl.-Butylhydrogenmonoperoxymaleat,
n-Butyl-4,4-bis-(tert.-butylperoxy)-valeriat,
2,5-Dimethyl-2,5-bis-(tert.-butylperoxy)-hexan und Bis-(p-brombenzoyl)-peroxid.
In den Anstrichmitteln können auch die üblichen Pigmente, wie Titandioxid, Ferrioxid, Calciumoxid,
Zinkoxid, Ocker, Bleiglätte, Bleiweiß, Tone, z. B. Kaolin und Porzellanerde, Calcumcarbonat, Siliciumdioxid,
Talkum, Asbest, Diatomeenerde, basises Bleicarbonate Kreide, Lithopone, Zinksulfid, Antimontrioxid,
Bariumsulfat, Mennige, Spanischbraun, gebrannte Siena, rotes Eisenoxid, Venezianischrot, Cadmiumrot,
Cadmiumsulfoselenid, Cadmiumquecksilbersulfid, rohe Umbra, gebrannte Umbra, Siena, gelbes Eisenoxidhydrat,
Chromgelb, Chromorange, Molybdänorange, Zinkchromat, basisches Zinkchromat, Cadmiumgelb,
Chromgrün, Chromoxidgrün, Eisenblau, Ultramarin, blaues basisches Bleisulfat, Rußsctiwarz,
gefälltes schwarzes Eisenoxid und Metallpigmente, z. B. Aluminiumpulver, enthalten sein.
Als Lösungsmittel fur die Anstriche können die hierfür üblichen, wie aromatische und aliphatische
Kohlenwasserstoffe, z. B= Benzol, Toluol, Xylol, Naphtha, Terpentinölersatz, Isooctane, Hexan und Petroläther
sowie Wasser für Anstrichmittel auf wäßriger Basis verwendet werden.
Die härtenden Alkydharze können aus Säuren oder Säureanhydiiden, wie Phthalsäureanhydrid, Isophthalsäure,
Trimellithsäure, Pyromellithsäure, Trimesinsäure,
Maleinsäureanhydrid, Fumarsäure, Azelainsäure, Bernsteinsäure, Adipinsäure, Tetrahydrophthalsäureanhydrid,
Tetrachlorphtbalsäureanhydrid, dimerisierten Fettsäuren und Sebacinsäure, die mit mehrwertigen
Alkoholen, wie Glycerin, Pentaerythrit, Dipentaerythrit, Trimethyloläthan, Sorbit, Trimethylolpropan,
Äthylenglykol, Propylenglykol, Neopentylenglykol und Dipropylenglykol, umgesetzt sind, in Verbindung
mit trocknenden Ölen, wie Sojaöl, Leinöl, Tungöl, dehydratisiertem Ricinusöl, Fischöl, Maisöl,
Perillaöl, SafTloröl und Baumwollsaatöl, oder den Säuren dieser trocknenden Öle oder Tallölfeitsäuren
hergestellt sein.
Soweit nicht anders vermerkt, beziehen sich die nachfolgend in Teilen oder Prozenten angegebenen
Mengen sämtlich auf das Gewicht.
Nachstehend sind einige typische mit ungesättigten Ölen oder Fettsäuren modifizk;rte Alkydharze angegeben,
die für die erfindungsgemäßen Zwecke geeignet sind und Öllängen von 30 bis 70 oder darüber haben
können:

Ferner sind nachfolgend einige typische Beispiele für ungesättigte Polyesterharze angegeben. Bei allen
unter A bis I aufgeful'.ften Polyestern wurden die bis
zu der angegebenen Säurezahl miteinander umgesetzten Säure- und Alkoholkomponenten in Styrol zu
einem Gesamtgehalt an nichtflüchtigen Bestandteilen von 70% gelöst, d. h.. die Masse enthielt 30% Styrol.
Die fertigen Massen enthielten außerdem 0.015% tert.-Butylkatechin.

Das Styrol kann 20 bis 50% der Gesamtmischung ausmachen. Anstelle von Styrol können auch andere
äthylenisch ungesättigte Verbindungen verwendet werden, wie Diallylphthalat, Triallylcyanurat, p-Vinyltoluol.
Acrylnitril. a-M ethyl styrol. Divinylbenzoi,
N-Vinylpyrrolidon. Methylacrylat, Methylmethacrylat,
to Allyldiglykolcarbonat, Trimethylolpropandiallyläther,
Trimethylolpropanmonoallyläther, Allyläther von Sorbit, Pentaerythrit, Saccharose und Glucose. Es können
auch alle zur Herstellung von Alkydharzen üblichen mehrbasischen Säuren und mehrwertigen Alkohole
als Komponenten bei der Herstellung tier ungesättigten Polyesterharze verarbeitet werden.
Ferner können mit Wasser verdünnbare ungesättigte Polyestermassen verwendet werden, wie sie z. B. in
der US-PS 34 63 750 beschrieben sind. Fiinc typische Zusammensetzung ist die im Beispiel I der genannten
Patentschrift angegebene, wonach eine Mischung aus 108 Teilen Trimellithsiiureanhydrid, 118 Teilen Phthalsäureanhydrid,
108 Teilen Trimcthylolpropan und 169 Teilen Trimethylolpropandiallyläther mit einer Siiurezahl
von 50 bis 52 in 30 Teilen Isopropanol, 60 Teilen 28%igem wäßrigen Ammoniak, 390 Teilen Wasser und
90 T.ilen tert.-Butylalkohol gelöst wird. Diese Lösung
mit einem FeststofTgehalt von 45% wird im folgenden als Polyester J bezeichnet.
Die folgenden Beispiele erläutern uie Erfindung.
Das Standardverlahren zur Prüfung der Filme bestand
in der Bestimmung der Zeit, in welcher der Film »staubfrei« und »durchgehend hart« wurde.
Diese Bestimmung wurde wie folgt durchgeführt: Innerhalb von 24 bis 48 Stunden nach Herstellung
der Mischung wurde mit Hilfe eines Applikators ein Film auf eine polierte Glasplatte aufgebracht, der
barer Arm befestigt, der einen gewichtsmäßig ausbalancierten, vertikal ausgerichteten Fühler betätigt,
der aus einer duroplastischen Tellonkugel besteht, die
nicht an dem trocknenden Film klebt. Wenn der durch
-, den Motor in Bewegung gesetzte Fühler keine klare Rille mehr hinterläßt, sondern beginnt, die trockene
Oberschicht des Filmes aufzureißen, wird die Obeifläche
als »staubfrei« bezeichnet. Wenn der Fühler den Film nicht mehr aufreißt, sondern frei auf seiner
ίο Oberfläche entlanggleitet, wird der Film als »durchgehend
hart« bezeichnet.
1Ί Die Vernetzung vnn 50g styrolmodifiziertem Hartpolyesterharz
mit geringer Reaktionsfähigkeit, mittlerem Molekulargewicht und einer Viskosität von 4 bis
5 Poise bei 77 C wurde durch Zugabe von 0,5 g Methyläthylketonperoxid
und 0,5 g einer, bezogen auf das
Uli* WdI.
ließ man in einem auf konstanter Temperatur und Feuchtigkeit gehaltenen Raum trocknen, der mit einer
künstlichen Lichtquelle beleuchtet wurde und eine 957oige Reproduzierbarkeit der Testergebnissc erlaubte.
Der Trocknungszustand der Filme wurde über einen Zeitraum von 24 Stunden mit einem verbesserten
Gardner-Trocknungszeit-Recorder (Kreisblattschreiber) untersucht. Dieser Recorder besteht im wesentlichen
aus einem Synchronmotor, dessen Welle genau vertikal ausgerichtet ist. An dieser Welle ist ein schwenkffictaiiistric
i\.uuaii, ovoigen Losung ues jeweiligen
Kobalt(Il)-hyurazino-halogenid-Komplexes in Cyclohexanon eingeleitet.
Für jede Probe wurde die Gelierzeit bei 22 C mit einem Vergleichsviskosimeter bestimmt, mit dem die
bis zum Erreichen des Gelierpunktes benötigte Zeil gemessen wurde. Die Härtungszeit und die exotherme
Spitzentemperatur wurden mit einem WEST-Einzeiger-Registrierpotentiometer
bestimmt. Eine Probe wurde mit 0,5 g Kobaltonaphthenat (6% Co) als Accelerator versetzt. Sie diente als Vergleich.

Verwendete man anstelle des obigen Polyesters den Polyester A, so erhielt man vergleichbare Ergebnisse.
Das Beispiel 1 wurde mit sehr geringen Mengen des Katalysator-Accelerator-Systems bei 22 C wiederholt.
Die 50 g Polyesterharz, die 0,05 g tert.-Butylhydroperoxid und 0.1 g einer Lösung des Kobalt(il)-dihydrazino-chlorid-Komplexes
[Co(I!KN2H4)2]C!2 in
Benzaldehyd (6% Co) enthielten, gelierten in 16 Minuten und härteten in 105 Minuten aus, während unter
gleichen Bedingungen Harz, das 0,i g Kobaitnaphihenat (6% Co) anstelle des Hydrazinkomplexes enthielt,
eine Gelierzeit von mehreren Stunden benötigte und auch nach mehreren Tagen noch nicht hart war. Zu
vergleichbaren Ergebnissen kam man, wenn man das Harz des Beispiels 1 durch den Polyester A ersetzte.
50 g hochmolekulares styrolmodifiziertes Polyesterharz
geringer Reaktionsfähigkeit wurden bei 22 C mit 0,5 g Benzoylperoxid und 0,5 g KobaIt(II)-dihydrazinochlorid
(6% Co) in Dimethylacetamid katalysiert, worauf man in kurzer Zeit ein gehärtetes Harz erhielt.
Ähnliche Ergebnisse wurden mit dem Polyester I erhalten.
0,5 g KobaltdD-dihydrazino-chlorid wurden in 50 g
des im Beispiel 1 venvendeten Polyesterharzes dispergiert. Dann wurden 0,5 g Benzoylperoxid zugegeben,
und es wurde die Gelierzeit und Härtungszeit wie im Beispiel 3 bestimmt. Die Gelierzeit betrug 3 Stunden
und die Härtungszeit 5 Stunden. Das gleiche Harz, welches das Peroxid, aber nicht den Accelerator, ent-
ήο hielt, war nach 24 Stunden weder geliert noch gehärtet.
Vergleichbare Ergebnisse erhielt man mit dem Polyester A.
Es wurde eine für Ölalkydanstriche typische Mischung
aus a) einer Mahlung von 1265 g Titandioxid, 1000 g auf reinem Sojaöl basierendem Ölalkydharz
mit einem Sojaölgehalt von etwa 6J%, einem Phthal-
säureanhydridgehal! von etwa 23% und einer Säurezahl
von IO max. und 115 g Terpentinölersatz sowie b) einem Verdünnungsmittel aus 1145 g des gleichen
Alkydträgers und 500g des gleichen Lösungsmittels hergestellt. Zu 50g dieser Mischung wurden 0,05 g
Methyläthylketoxim zur Verhinderung von Hautbildung und 0,4 g einer Cyclohexanonlösung des jeweiligen
Kobalt(il)-Ir'drazinohalogenid-Komplexes gemäß
Tabelle 2 gegeben. Die Lösungen hatten sämtlich einen Kobaltgehalt von 6%. Alle Systeme wurden
nach dem oben beschriebenen Standardverfahren bei einer Raumtemperatur von 32 C und 30% Feuchtigkcit
geprüft und mit zwei entsprechenden Systemen verglichen, von denen das eine 0,4 g Kobaltoctoat
(6% Co) als Trockenmittel ιιπΊ das andere keinerlei
Trockenmittel enthielt. Die Ergebnisse sind in der Tabelle 2 wiedergegeben.

Kobalthydrazino-Komplexes in Essigsäurcanhydrid (6% Co) katalysiert und mit einem nicht
katalysierten System verglichen.

Metallgehalt eier anderen Systeme entsprach.
Das pulverförmige KobaltUD-dihydrazino-dichlorid
war in der Wirkung nicht so gut wie die Lösung, da es sich beim Stehen an der Luft zersetzte.
Vergleichbare Ergebnisse wurden bei Verwendung des AlkydharzcsJ erhalten.
Die Trocknung von 50 g der gleichen Grundmischung wie im Beispiel 5, die jedoch kein Titan-

50 g des im Beispiel I eingesetzten Polyesterharzes,
die 0,5 g Methyläthylketonperoxid als Katalysator und 0,5 g Kobaltnaphthenat (6% Co) enthielten, wurden
als 0,076 mm dicker Film auf eine Glasplatte aufgetragen. Dann wurde die Trocknungszeit bei einer Temperatur
von 22 C nach dem im Beispiel 1 angewandten allgemeinen Verfahren bestimmt. Der Film trocknete
überhaupt nicht und blieb mehrere Tage klebrig.
E.ine entsprechende Mischung, die 0,5 g einer Lösung des Kobalt(ll)-dihydrazino-chlorid-Komple\es in Benzaldehyd
(6% Co) anstelle des Kobaltnaphthenats enthielt, trocknete in weniger als 24 Stunden, d. h. durch
den Accelerator wurde der bei der obigen Zusammensetzung beobachtete härtungshemmende Einfluß der
Luft aufgehoben. 50 g des gleichen Harzes, die lediglich 1,0 g (Co(II)(NiH4)J]CIj (6% Co) als einzigen Katalysator
und kein Peroxid enthielten, trockneten innerhalb von 48 Stunden. Dies veranschaulicht die Fähigkeit
des Kobalt-hydrazino-halogenid-Komplexes, die Bildung freier Radikale unter Nutzung des atmosphärischen
Sauerstoffs einzuleiten.
Zu vergleichbaren Ergebnissen gelangte man. bei Verwendung des Polyesters A.

1. Anstrichmittel auf der Basis eines trocknenden Alkydharzes oder eines oxidierbaren ungesättigten
Polyesterharzes und einer Kobaltverbindung, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Kobaltverbindung ein Kobalt(II)-hydrazinohalogenid-Komplex der allgemeinen Formel
