Die Erfindung betrifft Schmieröle auf der Grundlage synthetischer
Ester, welche eine hervorragende Korrosions- und Oxidationsbeständigkeit sowie ein hervorragendes Lastaufnahmevermögen
aufweisen. Insbesondere betrifft die Erfindung Schmieröle auf der Grundlage synthetischer Ester, die als Zusatzstoffe
(a) ein Trihydrocarbylphosphat, (b) ein Alkylaminsalz einer
Monohalogenalkylphosphonaäure und (c) eine Dicarbonsäure enthalten.

ihrer typischen guten thermischen Beständigkeit und günstigen Viskositätseigenschaften insbesondere für Schmierzwecke bei
hohen Temperaturen und hohen Drehzahlen, wie zur Schmierung von Gasturbinenmotoren. Obwohl Schmierstoffe auf Estergrundlage
: Mineralschmierölen in vieler Hinsicht überlegen sind, weisen
sie eine etwas stärkere Korrosionstendenz auf und werden außerj dem bei erhöhten Temperaturen oxidiert und zersetzt. Die thermische
Zersetzung synthetischer Esteröle wird bekanntlich durch ι die Gegenwart geringer Mengen an gelösten Metallen, wie Eisen,
welche infolge der Auflösung von Stahlbestandteilen durch die ; Ester-Basisöle oder durch diesen ölen einverleibte Zusätze vorhanden
sind, merklich beschleunigt.

Das Problem der Korrosion und der katalytischen Zersetzung wird , in der vor kurzem herausgegebenen Militär-Prüfnorm MIL-L-23699 B für Flügzeuggasturbinen-Schmierstoffe behandelt. Die vorgenannte Prüf norm umfaßt zahlreiche Tests zur Bestimmung der Korro-

Thermal Stability-Corrosivity Test). Die von der vorgenannten Prüfnorm an Schmieröle gestellten Anforderungen sind sehr streng
und können nur von ölen mit außergewöhnlichen Eigenschaften erfüllt
werden.
Aufgabe der Erfindung ist es, neue Schmieröle auf der Grundlage synthetischer Ester zur Verfügung zu stellen, die eine geringe
hervorragende
Korrosionswirkung und/teidationsbestandigkeit sowie ein gutes Lastaufnahmevermögen aufweisen.

Gegenstand der Erfindung sind somit Schmieröle auf der Giundlage
synthetischer Ester, die dadurch gekennzeichnet sind, daß sie als Zusätze
a) ein Tri-C,, ,. ,--hydro carbylphosphat,
b) ein Salz eines Cq,q-Alkylamins mit einer Monohalogen-C,^-
alkylphosphonsäure und
c) eine C2, ,.^-Dicarbonsäure

Die Schmieröle der Erfindung weisen bezüglich der Körrosions-
^ wirkung, der Oxidationsbeständigkeit und des Lastaufnahmevermögens
die gewünschten hervorragenden Eigenschaften auf. Die erfindungsgemäßen Schmieröle besitzen eine bemerkenswerte Wirksamkeit
zur Passivierung von Stahloberflächen und verhindern somit im wesentlichen die Auflösung des Metalls, wodurch auch
die Oxidationsbeständigkeit des Öls erhöht wird. Ferner weisen die Schmieröle der Erfindung ein hervorragendes Lastaufnahmevermögen
auf, und sie eignen sich ausgezeichnet für Hochtemperatur-
bzw. Hochdrehzahl-Schmierzwecke. j.
i j Die in den Schmierölen der Erfindung als Zusatz-Komponente a)
enthaltenen Trihydrocarbylphosphate können als Hydrocarbylreste '.
(Kohlenwasserstoffreste) Alkyl-, Aryl-, Alkaryl- und Aralkylreste
aufweisen. Bevorzugt werden Aryl- oder Alkarylreste mit

Tri-(2,6-dimethyl-4-,tert.-butylphenyl)-phosphat, Tri-(4-methyl-1-naphthyl)-phosphat,
Äthyl-di-(p-kresyl)-phosphat, 2,6-Xylenyldi-(n-butyl)-phosphat,
Triphenylphosphat, Kresyldiphenylphosphat, Dikresylphenylphosphat, Xylyldikresylphosphat, Trixylylphosphat,
Dimethylxylylphosphat, Dimethyltolylphosphat, Dimethylphenylphosphat,
Methyldiphenylphosphat, Octyldiphenyl-P · phosphat, Trimethylphosphat, Triäthylphosphat, Tri-n-butylphosphat
und Tris-(2-äthylhexyl)-phosphat sowie Gemische der vorgenannten
Phosphate. Besonders bevorzugt wird Trikresylphosphat.
Die in den erfindungsgemäßen Schmierölen als Zusatz-Komponente
b) enthaltenen Alkylaminsalze einer Monohalogenalkylphosphonsäure
weisen als Halogene vorzugsweise Fluor, Chlor oder Brom auf. Besonders bevorzugt werden Salze von Monochloralkylphosphonsäuren,
speziell jene, bei denen das Chloratom an das a-C- ^ ' Atom des Alkylrestes gebunden ist. Der Alkylrest weist vorzugs-
'· weise 1 oder 2 C-Atome, insbesondere 1 C-Atom, auf. Spezielle
Beispiele für die vorgenannten Monochloralkylphosphonsäuren sind Monochlormethylphosphonsäure, a-Monochloräthylphosphonsäure,
a-Monochlorpropylphosphonsäure, a-Chior-a-Methyläthylphosphonsäure,
a-Chlorbutylphosphonsäure und (X-Chlor-a-Methylpropylphosphonsäure.
Die Anhydride der vorgenannten Phosphonsäuren können ebenfalls zur Herstellung erfindungsgemäß geeigneter
Aminsalze eingesetzt werden.
Die Amine, von denen sich die als Zusatz-Komponente b) der er-

. findungsgemäßen Schmieröle verwendeten Salze ableiten, sind vor-
: zugsweise primäre oder sekundäre Cx.2.04""A11U-116· Besonders bevor-
: zugt werden primäre Qy,Q_2p-*ert.-Alkylamine. Als Alkylreste
j eignen sich von Polyisobuten und/oder Polypropylen abgeleitete Reste. Spezielle Beispiele für geeignete Amine sind 1,1,3»-3-Tetramethylbutylamin,
1 ,i^jS^v^-Hexamethylhexylamin,
1,1,3,3-,5,5,7^7-Octaraethyloctylamin und 1,1,3,3,5,5,7,7,9,9-Dekamethyldecylamin.
Primäre Methyl-tert.-alkylamine, wie
• 2,2,4,4-Tetrameth.ylpentylamin oder 2,2,4,4,6,6-Hexamethylhexylamin,
sind ebenfalls geeignet.
j Andereprimäre Cg^^Q-Amine, die sich zur Herstellung von erfin-.
dungsgemäß geeigneten Salzen (b) eignen, sind in den USA-Patenti
Schriften 2 606 923 und 2 611 782 beschrieben. Beispiele für '
! diese Amine sind das tert.-Tridecylamin der iOrmel
i- C8H17 - 0 -
Isoheptyldiathylcarbinylamin und Isooctyläthylpropylcarbinylamin.
Primäre Cy.p^oiL^^'b'^lkjlamine dieses Typs sind im Handel er- .
haitlich. Die Amine können auch Polyamine sein, wie Diamine oder
Triamine, sowie in der Kohlenstoffkette andere nicht-reaktive
Reste aufweisen, wie Amid- oder Äthergruppen. ·
Spezielle Beispiele für sekundäre Amine, die sich zur Herstel- ;
lung der erfindungsgemäß als Zusatz-Komponente b) einsetzbaren
Phosphonsäuresalze eignen, sind Diamylamin, Dihexylamin, Di-(2-äthylhexyl)-amin,
Dioctylamin, Didecylamin, Didodecylamin, Ditetradecylamin, Dihexadecylamin, Dioctadecylamin, Dibromdioctadecylamin,
Isopropyloleylamin, Diricinoleylamin, Butylricinoleylamin,
Butyl-2-äthylhexylamin, Dilaurylamin, Methyloleylamin,
Äthyloctylamin, Isoamylhexylamin, Dicyclohexylamin,
Dicyclopentylamin, Cyclohexyloctylamin, Cyclohexylbenzylamin,
Benzyloctylamin, Benzyl-2-äthylhexylamin, Allyloctylamin,
Dodecyl-2-äthylhexylamin, Ν,Ν'-Diallyltrimethylendiamin und
3-Hexylmorpholin.
Die erfindungsgemäß als Zusatz-Komponente t>) geeigneten Salze
können durch direkte Neutralisation der Halogenalkylphosphonsäure mit einem im wesentlichen stöchiometrischen Anteil des
Amins hergestellt werden. Die Reaktion erfolgt bei Raumtemperatur oder wenig oberhalb Raumtemperatur und kann in Gegenwart
eines inerten Verdünnungs- oder Lösungsmittels durchgeführt werden, wie eines Kohlenwasserstoffs, Alkohols, Äthers oder
Ketons. Die Herstellung der vorgenannten Salze ist in der USA-Patentschrift 2 858 3352 beschrieben.
Die vorgenannten Monohalogenalkylphosphonsäurealkylaminsalze
können auch gemäß USA-Patentschrift 3 112 267 durch ein Alkalimetall
modifiziert sein. Zur Herstellung dieser modifizierten Salze wird zuerst das ausschließliche Aminsalz der Phosphonsäure
hergestellt, welches anschließend in einem niedrig siedenden Lösungsmittel in einer solchen Weise mit einem Alkalihydroxid,
-carbonat oder -alkoholat behandelt wird, daß eine

der Amingruppen durch ein Alkalimetall ersetzt wird» Die bevorzugten
Alkalimetalle sind Lithium, Natrium und Kalium.
Die als Komponente c) der erfindungsgemäßen Schmieröle geeigneten C. .^-Dicarbonsäuren sind vorzugsweise aliphatisch^ Dicarbonsäuren,
wie Adipin-, Pimelin-, Kork-, Azelain-, Sebacinodei
Brassylsäure. Besonders bevorzugt wird Azelainsäure.
!Synthetische Ester, die sich als Basis-Komponenten für die erfindungsgemäßen
Schmieröle eignen, sind Ester von CxJ_2q-Alkoholen,
vorzugsweise C^^-Alkoholen, mit aliphatischen ^, 20""
Carbonsäuren, vorzugsweise C^^-Carbonsäuren. Die Basis-Ester
können einfache Ester, d. h. Veresterungsprodukte einwertiger Alkohole mit Monocarbonsäuren, Mehrfachester, d. h. Veresterungsprodukte,
deren Alkohol- oder Säure-Komponente mehr als
sein, eine funktionelle Gruppe aufweist, oder komplexe Ester( d. h.
Veresterungsprodukte einer mehrbasischen Saure mit mehr als einem Alkohol oder eines mehrwertigen Alkohols mit mehr als Λ
einer Säure. Hervorragende synthetische Schmierstoffe können
ferner bei Verwendung von Gemischen der vorgenannten Ester erhalten
werden* Solche Estergemische bestehen z. B. zum größeren Teil aus komplexen Estern· und zum kleineren Teil aus Diestern.
Spezielle Beispiele für erfindungsgemäß geeignete Ester-Basis-.öle
sind Palmitinsäureäthyl-, Laurinsäureäthyl-, Stearinsäurebutyl-,
Sebacinsäuredi-(2-äthylhexyl)-, Azelainsäuredi-(2-äthylhexyl)-, Ithylenglykoldilaurinsäure-, Phthalsäuredi-(2-äthylhexyl)-,
Adipinsäuredi-(1,3-methylbutyl)-, Azelainsäuredi-(1-

äthylpropyl)-, Sebacinsäuredicyclohexyl-,
Glycerintri-n-önanthsäure-, Azelainsäuredi-Cundecyl)- und
Tetraäthylenglykoldi-(2-äthylen)-capronsäureester sowie Gemische
der vorgenannten Ester. Ein bevorzugtes Gemisch solcher Ester besteht zu etwa 50 bis 80 % aus Azelainsäure-(2,2,4-tri-■
methylpentyl)-ester und zu 20 bis 50 % aus 1,1,1-Trimethylylpropantriönanthsäureester.
ι Erfindungsgemäß besonders bevorzugt werden die Ester von C/i /iv-,1
Monocarbonsäuren mit mehrwertigen Alkoholen, wie Pentaerythrit, Dipentaerythrit oder Trimethylolpropan. Spezielle Beispiele für
diese Ester sind Pentaerythrityltetrabuttersäure-, Pentaerythrityltetravaleriansäure-,
Pentaerythrityltetracapronsäure-, j Pentaerythrityldibuttersäuredicapronsaure-, Pentaerythritylbuttersäurecapronsäuredivaleriansäure-,
Pentacrythritylbuttersäuretrivaleriansäure-, Pentaerythritylbuttersäuretricapronsäure-,
Pentaerythrityltributtersäurecapronsäureester, die ge- ; mischten Pentaerythritylester . gesättigter aliphatischer
C2, ,.Q-Carbonsäuren, Dipentaerythritylhexavaleriansäure-,
Dipentaerythritylhexacapronsäure-, Dipentaerythritylhexaönanthsäure-, Dipentaerythritylhexacaprylsäure-, Dipentaerythrityl
tributtersäuretric apronsaure- , Dipentaerythrityltrivaleriansäuretripelargonsäureester,
die gemischten Dipentaerythritylhexaester von aliphatischen CL ,.Q-Carbonsäuren und
!Primethylolpropanönanthsäureester. Erfindungsgemäß besonders
gut geeignete Basisöle sind Gemische von Estern von C/j._io
carbonsäuren mit Pentaerythrit und Dipentaerythrit (Handelsprodukte).

Die erfindungsgemäßen Schmieröle enthalten zweckmäßig 0,005
10 Gewichtsprozent, vorzugsweise 0,01 "bis 3 Gewichtsprozent,
der Zusatz-Komponente a), 0,005 bis 10 Gewichtsprozent, vorzugsweise
0,01 bis 2 Gewichtsprozent, der Zusatz-Komponente b), und 0,001 bis 2 Gewichtsprozent, vorzugsweise 0,005 bis 1 Gewichtsprozent, der Zusatz-Komponente c), jeweils bezogen auf das gesamte
Schmieröl.
Den erfindungsgemäßen Schmierölen können auch andere Zusatz- I stoffe einverleibt werden, wie VI-Verbesserer, z. B. Methacrylsäureester-Polymere
und -Copolymere, Oxidationsinhibitoren, ζ. B. Arylamine oder Phenolverbindungen, Korrosionsinhibitoren,
Antischaummittel oder Detergentien. . ■
Die Beispiele erläutern die Erfindung. ' Beispiel 1
Tabelle I zeigt erfindungsgemäße Schmieröle auf Grundlage
synthetischer Ester (Schmieröl II und VI), die anschließend anhand eines oder mehrerer der nachstehend beschriebenen Prüfverfahren
mit den nicht-erfindungsgemäßen Schmierölen I, III, IV, V'und VII (vgl. Tabelle I) verglichen werden.

Aus Tabelle II sind die Ergebnisse der Bestimmungen des Gehalts
an löslichem Eisen ersichtlich, die mit den Schmierölen I und II
! nach einer gemäß der USA-Militär-Prüfnorm MIL-L-23699 durchge-
: führten Serie von 9 Versuchsdurchgängen des
"Bearing Rig i'est" unter den Bedingungen vom Typ 1 1/2
erzielt wurden. Tabelle II zeigt ferner das gemäß dem Eyder-Zahnradtest
bestimmte Lastaufnahmevermögen der vorgenannten ! Schmieröle. Eine vollständige Beschreibung des Ryder-Zahnradtests
ist aus dem ASTM-BuIletin No. 184 (September 1952), Seite
41, ersichtlich. ■

Die relativ niedrige Konzentration an gelöstem Eisen bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Schmieröl II im Vergleich zur entsprechenden
Konzentration bei dem die Zusatz-Komponenten A) und C) nicht enthaltenden Schmieröl I zeigt die Wirksamkeit der Schmieröle
der Erfindung bezüglich der Verhinderung der Korrosion von Stahl. Die Ergebnisse des Ryder-Zahnradtests lassen erkennen,
daß sich die in den erfindungsgemäßen Schmierölen enthaltenen
Zusatz-Komponenten auch bezüglich des Lastaufnahmevermögens ergänzen. Dies geht aus der Tatsache hervor,, daß die Zusatz-Komponente
A) und die Zusatz-Komponente C) als solche keine
: bedeutende Hochdruckwirksamkeit aufweisen (vgl. Tabelle III),
daß sie jedoch im Falle einer Kombination mit der Zusatz-Komponente B) eine wesentliche Erhöhung des Lastaufnahmever-
mögens bewirken, wobei letzteres höher ist als das Lastaufnahmevermögen
des Schmieröls I, welches einen höheren Anteil der Zusatz-Komponente B) allein enthält.
Zur weiteren Veranschaulichung der Wirksamkeit der in den erfindungsgemäßen
Schmierölen enthaltenen Zusatz-Kombination zur Verbesserung des Lastaufnahmevermögens der Ester-BasisÖle werden
auch die Schmieröle III, IV, V und VI dem Ryder-Zahnradtest unterworfen. Die Schmieröle III bzw. IV bzw. V enthalten gleiche
Konzentrationen der Zusatz-Komponenten A) bzw. B) bzw. C), während das Schmieröl VI (erfindungsgemäß) eine gleiche Gesamtkonzentration (d. h. 1,22 Gewichtsprozent) der kombinierten
Zusatz-Komponenten aufweist. Als Basisöle werden in allen Fällen

dieselben öle verwendet.
' Die vorgenannten Schmieröle werden ferner nach dem neu entwickelten,
als Teil der USA-Marine-Prüfnorm MIL-L-23669 B veröffentlichten
thermischen Beständigkeits-Eorrosionswirkungs- _ Tests (Thermal Stability-Corrosivity Test) untersucht. Die Er-

Die in Tabelle III angegebenen Werte lassen ferner die durch das günstige Zusammenwirken der in den erfindungsgemäßen
Schmierölen enthaltenen Zusätzen bewirkte Erhöhung '
des Lastaufnahmevermögens erkennen. Obwohl die Zusatz-Komponen- '
ten A) und C) den Schmierölen III und V keine bedeutenden ι
Hochdruckeigenschaften verleihen, verbessern sie das Lastauf- :
nahmevermögen des Schmieröls VI deutlich, wobei letzteres nahe- j zu dem Lastaufnahmevermögen des Schmieröls IV gleichkommt,
welches im Vergleich zum Schmieröl VI mehr als die sechsfache Menge der Hochdruck-Zusatzkomponente B) enthält. Die Schmier- ;
öle IV und V verpuffen während des thermischen Beständigkeits-Korrosionswirkungs-Tests,
woraus hervorgeht, daß die Zusatz-Komponenten B) bzw. C) den Ester-Basisölen einzeln nicht die
erforderlichen Eigenschaften bezüglich der Beständigkeit und Korrosion verleihen. Wenn diese Zusatz-Komponanten jedoch in
Kombination mit der Zusatz-Komponente .A) eingesetzt werden, wird ein Produkt mit deutlich verbesserten Eigenschaften erhalten,
welches hervorragende Hochdruckeigenschaften, eine ausgezeichnete thermische Beständigkeit und sehr gute korrosionsinhibierende
Eigenschaften aufweist.
