Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Vorrichtung zum HF-Verschweißen von PVC-Schaum mit siebartig durchbrochenen Materialien wie Trikot, Nessel, perforierte Folie od. dgl. gemäß dem Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1.
Beim HF-Schweißen von PVC-Schaum mit siebartig durchbrochenen Materialien ist es bekannt, wenigstens die auf die Seite des siebartig durchbrochenen Materials befindliche Elektrode mit einer Isolierschicht zu versehen, die im wesentlichen die Funktion der Verhinderung von Duchschlägen und/oder Randüberschlägen, der thermischen Isolation, der Schweißgut-, Zusatz oder Sekundärwärmung sowie der Verhinderung des Anhaftens des Schweißgutes an der Elektrode hat. Seinen Aufgaben entsprechend werden an den Isolierstoff hohe Anforderungen in bezug auf die Durchschlagfestigkeit, Temperaturbeständigkeit, Dielektrizität und mechanische Beschaffenheit gestellt. In der Praxis finden zur Zeit unter anderem Phenolharz-Cellulose-Hartpapier, Silikon-Glasgewebe, Gummigewebe-Verbindungen, Folien aus diversen Gummiarten, Polytetralluoräthylen-Glasgewebe, Polyterepthalsäureester und Celluloseacetate, öl- und Lackleinen, Silikonfolie, Polyäthylen- und Polypropylenfolie, 01- und Pergamin-Papiere, Epoxydharz und andere Duroplaste, Glas-, Asbest- und Glimmverbindungen sowie streichfähige Isolierfilme Verwendung. Alle diese Isolierstoffe haben eine glatte bzw. verhältnismäßig glatte Oberfläche.
Wie sich in der Praxis gezeigt hat, ergeben HF-Verschweißungen von PVC-Schaum mit einem Gewebe aus Trikot, Nessel od. dgl. bei Verwendung von Isolierschichten aus den vorstehend genannten Isolierstoffen mit glatter bzw. verhältnismäßig glatter Oberfläche keine gute Schweißnahtfestigkeit.
Um die Schweißnahtfestigkeit zu verbessern, wurde daher schon vielfach als Gewebe ein beidseitig mit Weich-PVC beschichtetes Gittergewebe verwendet, wobei sich dann beim Schweißen die PVC-Beschichtung mit dem PVC-Schaum verbindet. Abgesehen von den hohen Kosten hat diese Methode vor allem den Nachteil einer großen Steifheit des Gewebes, was in den meisten Fällen jedoch unerwünscht ist.
Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, eine Vorrichtung zu schaffen, mit der die Schweißnahtfestigkeit verbessert werden kann, ohne daß die Naht zu steif wird.
Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst, daß die Isolierschicht an ihrer dem SchweiSgut zugekehrte Seite mit zahlreichen verhältnismäßig kleinen Erhebungen und/oder Vertiefungen versehen ist. Hierdurch dringt der durch den HF-Strom erwärmte und plastisch gemachte PVC-Schaum durch das Gewebe hindurch zwischen die Erhebungen bzw. in die Vertiefungen und kann sich nach Abkühlen des PVC-Schaums mit dem Gewebe mechanisch verankern. Aufgrund dieser Maßnahme ist es nunmehr ohne weiteres möglich, die obenerwähnten glatten Isolierstoffe mit gutem Erfolg zu verwenden und eine feste und dauerhafte Verbindung selbst dann zu erzielen, wenn das Gewebe aus einem Material hergestellt ist, das sich mit dem PVC-Schaum nicht hochfrequent verschweißen läßt. Versuche haben gezeigt, daß sich etwa dreimal so hohe Schweißnahtfestigkeiten erzielen lassen wie bisher.
Das vor allem für die Auto-, Polstermöbel- und Matratzenindustrie geeignete erfindungsgemäße Verfahren wird anhand der in der Zeichnung gezeigten Ausführungsbeispiele im folgenden noch erläutert. Es zeigt
Fig. 1 eine Schweißanordnung mit einer Isolierschicht mit gewellter Oberfläche,
F i g. 2 eine als grobes Gittergewebe ausgebildete Isolierschicht und
F i g. 3 eine Isolierschicht aus Hartpapier.
Auf der an ihrer dem Schweißgut 2, 3 und 4 zugekehrten Seite ist die Isolierschicht 1 wellenförmig ausgebildet, so daß das Uniergewebe 2 nur stellenweise auf der Isolierschicht aufliegt, im übrigen aber zwischen Untergewebe 2 und Isolierschicht 1 die Hohlräume 6 gebildet sind. Der mit der Deckschicht 4 aus Gewebe, Leder, Kunstleder, Folie od. dgl. abgedeckte PVC-Schaum 3 hat sich im Bereich der Elektrode 5 erwärmt und ist in plastischem Zustand durch das Untergewebe 2 hindurch in die Vertiefungen bzw. Hohlräume 6 eingedrungen, wodurch nach dem Abkühlen des PVC-Schaums eine gute mechanische Verankerung zwischen ihm und dem Untergewebe 2 hergestellt ist. Gleichzeitig hat sich der PVC-Schaum in dem genannten Bereich auch mit der Deckschicht 4 verbunden.
Die in Fig. 2 gezeigte gitterartig ausgebildete Isolierschicht bewirkt ebenso wie die in F i g. 3 gezeigte, auf ihrer dem Schweißgut zugekehrten Seite genutete Hartpapier-Isolierschicht, daß das Untergewebe nur stellenweise aufliegt und daß der im Bereich der Elektrode erwärmte und in den plastischen Zustand übergegangene PVC-Schaum durch das Untergewebe hindurch in die dahinter ausgebildeten Hohlräume eindringen und sich nach Erkalten des PVC-Schaums mit dem Untergewebe mechanisch verankern kann. '

Claims (1)

  1. Patentanspruch:
    Vorrichtung zum HF-Verschweißen von PVC-Schauin mit siebartig durchbrochenen Materialien wie Trikot, Nessel, perforierte Folie od dgl. zwischen relativ zueinander bewegbaren Elektroden, wobei wenigstens die auf der Seite des siebartig durchbrochenen Materials befindliche Elektrode mit einer Isolierschicht versehen ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Isolierschicht (1) an ihrer dem >o Schweißgut (2, 3, 4) zugekehrten Seite mit zahlreichen verhältnismäßig kleinen Erhebungen und/oder Vertiefungen (6) versehen ist.
