Description
- Die Neuerung bezieht sich auf eine Anordnung zum Verbinden von Gegenständen aus thermoplastischen Kunststoffen untereinander, insbesondere zum Verschweißen von z. B. Polyäthylen-Kabelmänteln untereinander oder mit Kabelgarnituren. Die bisher bekannten Methoden zur Verbindung von Kunststoff-Folien oder Platten sind bei der in der Kabeltechnik geforderten Sicherheit nicht anwendbar, da sie zu aufwendig bezüglich der Geräte sind. Darüber hinaus würden, wenn man die bekannten Methoden anwenden wollte, nur Spezialisten in der Lage sein, Rn/Sth Die neue Anordnung zum Verbinden von Gegenständen aus thermoplastischen Kunststoffen ist gekennzeichnet durch ein auf die zu
verbindende Stelle insbesondere in Band&rm aufgebrachtes Schweiß- gut und durch die darüber angeordnete Kombination wenigstens einer auch Verschnürungen, Riemen oder dergleichen unmittelbar befesti- gen, die es gestatten, die Manschette um die Schweißstelle straff zu verschweißenden Enden von Kunststoffteilen, z. B. von Kunst- - Die Neuerung wird im folgenden anhand eines Ausführungsbeispiels näher erläutert.
- In der Fig. 1 ist eine Schweißmanschette gezeigt, die aus einem besonders wärmebeständigem Kunststoffband 1, z. B. aus Silikongummi oder dergleichen, besteht und dessen Enden abgeschrägt sein können. In das Kunststoffband ist ein Heizdraht oder eine Heizspirale 2 mäanderförmig einvulkanisiert, deren Enden aus dem Band z. B. seitlich herausgeführt sind.
- In Fig. 2 ist eine Verbindungsstelle dargestellt, wie sie bei Anwendung der Anordnung nach der Neuerung aufgebaut ist. Die beiden Kunststoffmäntel 3, die miteinander verschweißt werden sollen, stoßen an der Stelle 4 stumpf aneinander. Über die zu verbindende Naht 4 wird ein Folienwickel 5 aus geeignetem Material, z. B. aus Polyäthylen, aufgebracht, der als Schweißgut dient und in die zu verbindende Naht nach Erreichung des schmelzenden Zustandes eindringt. Die als Schweißgut benutzte Folie kann ein-oder mehrlagig um die Schweißstelle gewickelt werden, je nach dem, wie groß die Lücken in der zu verbindenden Naht sind oder wie dick die Auftragung des Schweißgutes der zu verbindenden Naht semn soll Der Folienwickel 5 wird schließlich durch die Schweißmanschette 6 überdeckt und durch diese auch unter Druck gesetzt. Die Schweißmanschette selbst kann in an sich bekannter Weise wieder umwickelwerden, so daß sie den notwendigen Druck auf das Schweißgut ausübt und eine feste Lage besitzt. Nach erfolgter Schweißung wird die Schweißmanschette abgenommen. Die Schweißstelle kann praktisch ohne nennenswerte'Durchmesservergroßerung hergestellt werden.

- 3. Anordnung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die elektrische Heizeinrichtung aus einem wärmebeständigen Kunststoffband
