Es ißt schon bekannt, überzüge daduroh herzustellen, daß man
ein Dlisocyanat mit einem Polyester mit endständigen Hydroxylgruppen
unmetzt und das Reaktionsprodukt, vorzugsweise in einem inerten organischen Lösungsmittel gelöst, auf den zu
Überziehenden Gegenstand aufbringt. Derartige überzüge besitzen
jedoch entweder eine geringe Farbechtheit oder eine geringe Glanzechtheit gegenüber WitterungseinflUssen oder
beide Nachteile.
Durch das Verfahren der vorliegenden Erfindung zur Herstellung von überzügen unter Verwendung von Diisocyanate!* und Polyestern mit endständigen Hydroxylgruppen werden die erwähnten
Machtelie überwunden.
Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Polyurethanüberzügeß durch Umsetzen eines Diisocyanats

mit einem Polyester mit endständigen Hydroxylgruppen, wobei das Verhältnis Hm Isocyanatgruppen zu alkoholischen Hydroxylgruppen

der aus einer Fettsäure und einem mehrwertigen Alkohol mit einem Molekulargewicht von 62-164 hergestellt ist, umgesetzt
wird.
Die Überzugsmassen können nach Üblichen Methoden, beispielsweise
durch Aufspritzen, Aufstreichen, Tauchen oder Auffließenlassen,
auf den Träger aufgebracht werden; sie trocknen in etwa 6 bis 12 Stunden zu klebfreien Filmen. Nach Aushärtung sind sie nicht
nur zäh und biegsam wie andere Polyurethanüberzüge, sondern sie vergilben auch nioht und behalten fiir lange Zelt ihren Glanz.
Die bevorzugte isocyanatkomponente ist eine Lösung von Methylen-bis-(4-eyelohexylisocyanat)
selbst. Weniger bevorzugt 1st ein Addukt dieses Isocyanate mit freien Isocyanatgruppen.
Solche Addukte werden hergestellt, indem man das Bis-isocyanat und einen mehrwertigen Alkohol, wie Trimethylolpropan, unter
praktisch wasserfreien Bedingungen miteinander erhitzt. Das Bis-isocyanat und der mehrwertige Alkohol werden vorzugsweise
in solchen Mengen miteinander vereinigt, daß das Verhältnis

XCO/OH 2,OgI oder mehr beträgt. Das Isocyanat oder Isocyanataddukt
wird dann mit einem hydroxylgruppenreichen Fettsäurepolyester, vorzugsweise in Gegenwart eines Katalysators,
insbesondere einer Organosinnverbindung, beispielsweise Dibuty1-slnn-dilaurat, umgesetzt.
Die freie Hydroxylgruppen enthaltenden Fettsäurepolyester, die in den überzügen der Erfindung verwendet werden
können, sind Reaktionsprodukte einer Fettsäure oder eines Gemisches von Fettsäuren, beispielsweise Palmitlnsäure, ölsäure,
Stearinsäure und insbesondere der Fettsäuren, die sieh von Glyoerinestern von Fettsäuren, wie Rizinusöl, ableiten,
und dimerislerter Fettsäuren, mit einem mehrwertigen
Alkohol oder einem Gemisch mehrwertiger Alkohole mit einem Molekulargewicht von 62 bis 164, wie Xthylenglykol, Propylenglykol,
Tetramethylenglykol, Trimethylolpropan und Pentaerythrit. Diese Fettsäurepolyester haben eine niedrige Säuresahl
(unter 12). eine Hydroxylzahl von wenigstens 30, vorzugsweise
zwischen 100 und 400, und sind praktisch wasserfrei. Die Fettsäurepolyester können mit Estern von Polycarbonsäuren
«rmischt werden und können hergestellt werden, indem man die
Fettsäure in Gegenwart einer Polyoarbonsäure mit dem mehrwertigen Alkohol umsetzt.

Fettsäurepolyester, die durch Kondensieren von Rizinusöl,
Pentaerythrit und Phthalsäureanhydrid zu einem Polyester Mit einer Säurezahl unter 12 und einer Hydroxylzahl von etwa. 100
bis 190 erhalten «erden, und diejenigen,, die durch Kondensieren
von Trlmethylolpropan Bit dlmerisierten Fettsäuren und Adipinsäure
unter Bildung eines Polyesters von niedriger Säurezahl und einer Hydroxylzahl von etwa 125-200 erhalten werden. ("Dimerigierte
Fettsäuren*' sind die Produkte, die erbalten werden,
wenn man swel Moleküle einer ungesättigten pflanzlichen öligen
Fettsäure, vermutlich ttber eine Doppelbindung, Miteinander
vereinigt. Sie haben Säuresahlen von 185-195, ein Äquivalentgewicht
von 290-300 und eine Funktionalität von 2,0 bis 2,2). Diese Fettsäurepolyester ergeben bei Kombination alt Methylenbis-(4-cyclohexylieocyanat)
Überzüge alt überraschend guter Olanserhaltung.

üblichen Weise aufgebracht. D.h. die Iaocyanat- und die Polyester-koaponente werden getrennt hergestellt und
unmittelbar vor ihrer Verwendung in den gewünschten Mengenverhältnissen miteinander vermischt und verwendet.
Das Mischungsverhältnis beider Komponenten ist derart,
daß die fertige Überzugsmasse zwischen etwa 2O und 80 Qew.-%
Feststoffe, vorzugsweise zwischen 35 und 50 Gew.-% Feststoffe
enthält, während der Rest aus eines flüchtigen Lösungsmittel besteht. Die Konsentration an aktiven Komponenten wird so
eingestellt, daft das Verhältnis von HCO-Qruppen zu alkoholischen
Hydroxylgruppen in dem Bereich von 1,5:1 und 1,0:1 und vorzugsweise 1,3s1,0 und 1,1:1,0 liegt. Gewttnschtenfalls können den
Überzugsmassen Katalysatoren, wie Bleinaphthenat und Dibutylzinndilaurat,
zur Beschleunigung der Umsetzung zugesetzt werden.
Die Überzugsmassen enthalten gewöhnlich ein flüchtiges
Lösungsmittel als Träger für die reaktionsfähigen Komponenten. Für diesen Zweck geeignete Lösungsmittel sind die üblichen
organischen Laoklösungsmittel, wie beispielsweise Xthylaoetat, Butylacetat, Cyclohexanon, Toluol, Xylol, Bis-(ß-äthoxyäthyl)-äther
und Glykol-monoäthylätheracetat. Auch Gemische dieser
und ähnlicher Lösungsmittel können verwendet werden.
Wie oben erwähnt, kann ein Katalysator verwendet werden, um die Bildung des Urethanreaktionsproduktes zu beschleunigen.
Beispiele für verwendbare Katalysatoren sind nicht nur die bekannten "Trockner**, wie Bleinaphthenat, sondern auch

zinnr Dimethyl-dioctyl-zinn, Dilauryl-zinn-difluorid,
Di-2-athylhexyl-xinn-bie-(monobutylmaleat) und Tri-n-butyl-zinnaoetonatj
und tertiäre Amine, wie beispielsweise !!,N-Dimethylpiperasin, Trläthylamln und N-Methylmorpholin.
Auch Gemische dieser katalytisches Substanzen sowie ähnliche
Verbindungen können verwendet werden.
Die Überzugs—ssen können auch Pigmente, Füllstoffe,
Flußmittel, andere Polymere u.dgl. Zusätze enthalten. Sie können bei Ziasterteapezatur oder darüber auf Jeden geeigneten
Träger aufgebracht werden. Die überzüge können bei der Temperatur der Qagebung oder in üblichen öfen getrocknet
werden. Die aus diesen Überzugsmassen hergestellten Filme
trocknen klebfrei in 6 bis 12 Stunden und erreichen ihre optimalen Eigenschaften nach etwa einer Woche oder mehr bei
gewöhnlicher Temperatur.
Die folgenden Beispiele veranschaulichen die Erfindung.

hergestellt, indes man 107 Teile Trinethylolpropan, 786 Teile
Methylen-bi«~(4-cyclohexylisocyaiiat) und 893 Teile
Glykol-monoäthyllther-acetat miteinander in einer Stickstof
fataoepbäre erhitzt. Das Gemisch wird etwa 2 1/2 Stunden
auf 75°C erhitat. Das Isocyanatäquivalentgewicht des
erhaltenen Addvktes ist 490.
Ein RizinusOl-alkyd wird hergestellt, indem man ein Gemisch
von 926 Teilen Rizinusöl, 181 Teilen Pentaerythrit und 0,4
Teilen 24%-igem Bleinaphthenat zwei Stunden in einer Stickstoff
atmosphäre auf 2S0°C erhitzt. Die Kasse wird auf etwa ICO0C abgekühlt, und 296 Teile Phthalsäureanhydrid und 87
Teile Xylol werden zugesetzt. Das Gemisch wird auf 22O°C erhitzt, während das gebildete Wasser azeotrop entfernt
wird. Zur Abtrennung des Wassers von dem Xylol, bevor dieses in die Reaktionsmasse zurückgeführt wird, wird eine Dean-Stark-Falle
verwendet. Das Erhitzen wird fortgesetzt, bis die Säurezahl des Polyesters 10 beträgt. Etwa 50 Teile
Xylol bleiben in der Hasse, die nach Abkühlen mit 410 Teilen Xthylenglykol-monoäthyläther-acetat verdünnt wird. Die
Hydroxylzahl dieses Polyesters ist 110.

Eine überzugsmasse, die durch Veraischen gleicher Teile
des Adduktes und des Alkyds hergestellt wird, wird auf eine Bolztafel aufgestrichen. Der überzug trocknet in sieben bis
acht Stunden "kleb-frei".
Diese Masse wird mit Titanox RA (eine* 1» Handel erhältlichen
Modifizierten Rutll-titandloxydpigment) pigmentiert (40%
Feststoffgehalt) und mit einer in gleicher Weise aui einem
Toluylendiisocyanat/Trimethylolpropan-Addukt und dem gleichen
Rizinusölslkyd hergeetellten überzugsmasse verglichen. Die
überzöge werden auf Stahlplatten hergestellt und eine Stunde
in einem Ofen bei 100°C getrocknet. Die Ergebnisse d*s
Vergleichs sind in Tabelle I zusammengestellt:

Eine überzugsmasse wird hergestellt, indem »an gleiche Teile
einer Lösung von Hethylen~bis-(4~oyclohexylisoeyanat) in
Xthylenglykol-Monoäthylttheraoetat und das wie in Beispiel 1
beschrieben hergestellte Riziausölalkyd Miteinander vermischt. Die Überzugsmasse ergibt nach Pigmentieren mit Titanox RA
und Aufbringen wie in Beispiel 1 einen Überzug, dessen Glans noch bestandiger ist als der des Überzuges von Beispiel 1:
Glanswert nach 337 im Weatherometer - 80.
Ein Gemisch von 522 Teilen dimerisierter Fettsäuren ("Smpol
1022"), 117 Teilen Adipinsäure, 268 Teilen Trimethylolpropan
und 100 Tollen Xylol wird in einer inerten Atmosphäre auf 22O°C erhitst. Das gebildete Wasser wird azeotrop durch eine
Dean-8tark-iaile entfernt. Das Erhitzen wird fortgesetzt,
bis die Säureaahl des Produktes 3,5 beträgt. Danach wird das gesamte Xylol bis auf 40 Teile entfernt, und 245 Teile Xthylenglykol-monoäthylätheracetat
werden zugesetzt. Der Polyester hat die Hydroxylzahl 148, und der Feststoffgehalt des Gemisches
beträgt 75%.

von Beispiel 1 vermischt.
Diese Masse wird naoh Pigmentieren ait Titane* RA-Pigaent
(Feststoffgehalt 40%) auf Stapelplatten aufgebracht und aa
Luft sowie durch einstflndiges Backen bei 100°C getrocknet.
Die Platten wurden ait in gleicher Weise hergestellten Platten, die alt den tlbersugssassen von Beispiel 1 flbersogen
waren, verglichen. Alle übersflge enthalten 37% Methylenbie-(4-oyolohes:rlisooyaBat).
Die Ergebnisse des Vergleichs sind in Tabelle II susaaaengestellt.

Claims (2)
1. Verfahren zur Herstellung eines Polyurethanüberzuges durch Unsetzen eines Diisocyanates mit einem hydroxylendgruppenhaltigen
Polyester» wobei das Verhältnis von Isooyanatgruppen zu alkoholischen Hydroxylgruppen 1,5:1 bis 1,0:1
und insbesondere 1,3:1 bis 1,1 ti beträgt, und Aufbringen
des Reaktionsproduktes, das vorzugsweise in einem inerten
organischen Lösungsmittel gelöst ist, auf ein Substrat, dadurch gekennzeichnet, das a)
Methylen-bis-(4-cyolohexylisooyanat) oder ein freie Isooyanatgruppen
enthaltendes Anlagerungsprodukt von Methylen-bis-(4-cyclohexylisocyanat)
und einer organischen Polyhydroxyverbindung mit b) einem bekannten Polyester mit einer
Hydroxyl zahl von mindestens 30, der aus einer Fettsäure und einem mehrwertigen Alkohol mit einem Molekulargewicht von
62-164 hergestellt ist, umgesetzt wird.
2. Zwei-Büohsen-Uberzugsmasse, die ein Reaktionsprodukt
eines Bisisocyanats mit einem Polyester mit endständigen Isocyanatgruppen, vorzugsweise in einem inerten organischen
