des Aufbaus der Verschlußmembran, innerer Festigkeit der Verschlußmembran, Güte der Abdichtung
und Leichtigkeit der Abziehbarkeit erzielt.
Wird das Verfahren bei einem Behälter aus Kunststoff angewendet, so ist vorgesehen, daß die thermoplastische
Schicht aus einem Material mit geringerem Schmelzpunkt als der Behälter besteht.
Wird das Verfahren bei einem Behälter angewandt, wo außer der Folie ein innen ein Polster aufweisender
Deckel auf die Behälteröffnung aufgesetzt wird, so ao sieht die Erfindung bevorzugt vor, daß das Polster
mit der die thermoplastische Schicht aufweisenden Metallfolie als ein Stück vorgefertigt wird, wobei die
Bindung zwischen Polster und Metallfolie schwächer als zwischen Metallfolie und Behälterrand ist. Beim "35
Entfernen des Deckels löst sich dann das Polster von der Metallfolie, und der Deckel kann nach dem Entfernen
der Metallfolie von Hand erneut zum Verschließen des Behälters verwendet werden.
Bevorzugt besteht die bei dem erfindungsgemäßen Verfahren verwendete Folie aus Aluminium, Zinn
oder Zinn-Antimon.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren kann sowohl bei Behältern mit Deckeln als auch ohne Deckel angewandt
werden. Wenn auf die Behälteröffnung kein Deckel aufgebracht wird, kann das erfindungsgemäße
Verfahren so durchgeführt werden, daß die mit der thermoplastischen Schicht versehene Metallfolie über
den Behälterrand übersteht und der überstehende Teil mit der Außenseite des Behälters in Eingriff gebracht
wird. Auf diese Weise wird eine zufällige Lösung des dichten Verschlusses vermieden und dennoch
der Vorteil der einfachen Herstellung und der Abziehbarkeit ohne Rückstände aufrechterhalten.
Die als Überzug auf die Metallfolie aufgebrachte thermoplastische Schicht besteht vorzugsweise aus
Vinylit-Harz, einem natürlichen oder synthetischen Wachs, einer mikrokristallinen Wachsmischung, Polyäthylen,
Polypropylen oder aus Mischungen von Kunststoffen und Harzen. Dabei kann vorgesehen
sein, daß die Metallfolie gleichmäßig mit dem thermoplastischen Material überzogen wird. Diese Maßnahme
eignet sich besonders, wenn die Metallfolien in großen Stückzahlen hergestellt werden sollen.
Das erfindungsgemäße Verfahren läßt sich auch bei Kunststoffbehältern anwenden. Diese können aus
Polyäthylen, Polyvinylchlorid, Polystyrol, Styrolmischpolymerisaten, z. B. Acrylnitril-Butadien-Styrol-Mischpolymerisaten,
Polypropylen, Zelluloseacetat, Polycarbonaten und Phenoxyharzen wie hochmolekularem
Polyhydroäther bestehen.
Die Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens besteht aus einem heb- und
senkbaren Kopf zum Anpressen der Membran und zur Wärmezufuhr, wobei erfindungsgemäß der aus
isolierendem Material bestehende Preßkopf von einer Hochfrequenzspule umgeben ist. Die Spule ist mit
Wasser gekühlt.
Die Erfindung wird im folgenden beispielsweise an Hand der Zeichnung beschrieben, welche eine Vorrichtung
zur Durchführung des erfindungsgemäßen Verfahrens sowie den Kopf eines Behälters mit seinen
Verschlußteilen teilweise im Schnitt zeigt.
In der Zeichnung ist ein Glasgefäß 1 gezeigt, auf das eine Aluminiumfolie 2 mit einem Überzug aus
thermoplastischem Material 3 an ihrer Unterseite, ein Papierkartonpolster 4 und eine Schnappverschlußkapsel
5 aufgebracht werden sollen. Das heb- und senkbare Preßwerkzeug 6 enthält einen Preßkopf 7
aus isolierendem Material, einen nachgiebigen Kautschukring bzw. eine ringförmige Kautschukscheibe 8
und wassergekühlte Hochfrequenz-Induktionsspulen 9, die den Kopf 7 umgeben. Die Vorrichtung enthält
auch eine Luftdruckpresse 10 und einen Druckmesser 11.
Wenn das Preßwerkzeug 6 gesenkt wird, werden die Metallfolie 2, das Papierpolster 4 und die Verschlußkapsel
5 auf die Behältermündung gepreßt. Sobald der Preßkopf 7 den vorgeschriebenen Verschlußdruck
erreicht hat, wird der Hochfrequenzstrom kurzzeitig eingeschaltet. Die Aluminiumfolie, wird durch
die in ihr induzierten Hochfrequenz-Wirbelströme derart erhitzt, daß der thermoplastische Überzug erweicht
und haftfähig wird. Die Erhitzungszeit ist sehr kurz und liegt beträchtlich unter einer Sekunde. Eine
Frequenz von 2 MHz und eine Leistung von etwa 1,5 bis 10 kW führen zu einer dichten, aber dennoch
lösbaren Haftung.
Das Verschließen kann auch halbautomatisch oder vollautomatisch mit Ein- oder Mehrstempelmaschinen
durchgeführt werden. Beispielsweise können mehrere Verschlußwerkzeuge, wie eines in der Zeichnung dargestellt
ist, oder ein einziger Verschlußkopf auf einer intermittierend sich drehenden Platte befestigt werden.
Die Behälter können auch auf einem Förderband kontinuierlich durch ein Induktionsfeld geführt werden,
wobei die gemäß der Erfindung erforderliche hohe Geschwindigkeit beim Vorbeiführen an dem
Induktionfeld hohe Stückzahlen ermöglicht.
Für die Unteransprüche wird nur Schutz im Zusammenhang mit dem Hauptanspruch begehrt.
Claims (9)
1. Verfahren zum dichten Verschließen von Behältern aus nichtmetallischem Material mit
einer Metallfolie, bei dem die Metallfolie unter Zwischenschaltung einer thermoplastischen
Schicht auf den Behälterrand aufgelegt, gegen den Behälterrand gedrückt und durch ein von
einer Spule erzeugtes, elektromagnetisches Hochfrequenz-Induktionsfeld erhitzt wird, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß zum Herstellen einer an sich bekannten dichten, leicht abziehbaren
Verbindung zwischen Metallfolie (2) und Behälter (1) eine mit einer thermoplastischen Schicht
(3) überzogene dünne Metallfolie (2), insbesondere mit einer Dicke zwischen 0,025 und
0,05 mm, verwendet wird und daß beim Aufpressen das im MHz-Bereich liegende HF-Induktionsfeld
mit einer Leistung von etwa 1,5 bis 10 kW innerhalb einer Zeit von beträchtlich weniger als 1 Sekunde wirksam wird.
2. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, bei dem ein Behälter aus Kunststoff verwendet wird, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß die thermoplastische Schicht
aus einem Material mit geringerem Schmelzpunkt als der Behälter besteht.
3. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, bei dem außer der Folie ein innen ein Polster aufweisender Dekkel
auf die Behälteröffnung aufgesetzt wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das Polster (4) mit
der die thermoplastische Schicht (3) aufweisenden Metallfolie (2) als ein Stück vorgefertigt wird,
wobei die Bindung zwischen Polster (4) und Metallfolie (3) schwächer als zwischen Metallfolie (3)
und Behälterrand (1) ist.
4. Verfahren nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Metallfolie (4) aus Aluminium,
Zinn oder Zinn-Antimon besteht.
5. Verfahren nach einem der Ansprüche 1, 3 oder 4, bei dem kein Deckel auf die Behälteröffnung
aufgebracht wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die mit der thermoplastischen Schicht (3)
versehene Metallfolie (2) über den Behälterrand übersteht und der überstehende Teil mit der ao
Außenseite des Behälters in Eingriff gebracht wird.
6. Verfahren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die als
Überzug auf die Metallfolie (2) aufgebrachte thermoplastische Schicht aus Vinylit-Harz, einem
natürlichen oder synthetischen Wachs, einer mikrokristallinen Wachsmischung, Polyäthylen,
Polypropylen oder aus Mischungen von Kunststoffen und Harzen besteht.
7. Verfahren nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die
Metallfolie gleichmäßig mit dem thermoplastischen Material überzogen wird.
8. Vorrichtung zur Durchführung des Verfahrens nach einem der vorhergehenden Ansprüche
mit einem heb- und senkbaren Kopf zum Anpressen der Membran und zur Wärmezufuhr, dadurch
gekennzeichnet, daß der aus isolierendem Material bestehende Preßkopf (7) von einer
Hochfrequenzspule (9) umgeben ist.
9. Vorrichtung nach Anspruch 8, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Spule mit Wasser gekühlt
ist.
