oder Cycloalkylrest bedeuten und R1 ein Äthylenrest oder ein durch einen Ci-io-Alkylrest substituierter
Äthylenrest ist, gegebenenfalls zusammen mit anderen polymerisierbaren olefinisch ungesättigten Verbindungen
erhalten worden ist.
Die Alkylreste in der vorstehend angegebenen allgemeinen Formel enthalten höchstens etwa 10 Kohlenstoffatome.
Zu diesen Resten zählen auch die Cycloalkylreste. Beispiele hierfür sind Methyl-,
Äthyl-, Propyl-, Isopropyl-, Butyl-, sek.-Butyl-, n-Pentyl-, Cyclohexyl-, Cyclopentyl-, Isooctyl-, n-Decyl-
und 4-Äthyl-2-hexylreste.
Der Rest R1 ist die Äthylengruppe oder ein Äthylenrest mit mindestens einem Ci-m-Alkylsubstituenten
an dem Kohlenstoffatom, welches direkt an das Stickstoffatom des Acrylsäureamids gebunden
ist. Der Einfachheit halber werden die beiden Kohlenstoffatome der Hauptkette der Äthylengruppe mit
Nummern bezeichnet; das an das Stickstoffatom direkt gebundene Kohlenstoffatom wird mit der
Nummer 1 und das andere mit der Nummer 2 bezeichnet. Beispiele für die R^Reste sind die Äthylen-,
1-Methyläthylen-, 1,1-Dimethyläthylen-, 1,1,2-Trimethyläthylen-,
l-Methyl-l-äthyläthylen-, 1-Methyl-1
- isobutyläthylen-, 1 - Äthyl -1 - isopropyläthylen-, 1,1 - Diisopropyläthylen-, 1,2 - Dimethyläthylen-,
1-n-Butyl-l-n-pentyläthylen- und 1-Methyl-1-cyclohexyläthylengruppe.
Der Rest R2 ist vorzugsweise ein Wasserstoffatom. In einigen Fällen kann er, wie vorstehend angegeben,
auch ein Ci-10-Alkylrest sein.

Die zur Herstellung der erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Polymerisate eingesetzten N-3-oxokohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten
Acrylsäureamide können durch Umsetzung eines ß-Hydroxyketons oder -aldehyds
oder der entsprechenden a,/?-ungesättigten
Carbonylverbindung mit einem Mol eines Acrylnitrils in Gegenwart mindestens eines Mols Schwefelsäure
je Mol des verwendeten Acrylnitril und nachfolgende Hydrolyse des Reaktionsproduktes hergestellt
werden. Die Reaktion wird veranschaulicht am Beispiel der Umsetzung von Diacetonalkohol
(d. h. 4-Hydroxy-4-methyl-2-pentanon) mit Acrylnitril:

Eine andere bequeme Methode zur Herstellung der N-3-oxokohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten Acrylsäureamide
besteht in der Umsetzung eines Acrylnitrils mit 2 Mol eines aliphatischen Ketons oder
Aldehyds mit mindestens einem a-Wasserstoffatom in Gegenwart von mindestens einem Mol Schwefelsäure.
Die Reaktionsbedingungen sind im wesentliehen die gleichen wie bei der vorstehend geschilderten
Reaktion.
Die N-3-oxokohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten Acrylsäureamide
werden gewöhnlich durch radikalische Polymerisation polymerisiert. Das Monomere bzw.
ein Monomerengemisch wird mit Hilfe eines PoIymerisationsinitiators
entweder in Abwesenheit oder in Anwesenheit eines Verdünnungsmittels bei einer Temperatur zwischen O und 200° C polymerisiert.
Beispiele für Polymerisationsinitiatoren sind Benzoylperoxyd, tert.-Butylhydroperoxyd, Cumylperoxyd,
Kaliumpersulfat, Acetylperoxyd, Wasserstoffperoxyd, Azoisobuttersäuredinitril oder Benzopersäure.
Die N-3-oxokohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten Acrylsäureamide
können auch mit anionischen Initiatoren homopolymerisiert oder mischpolymerisiert werden.
Beispiele für derartige Initiatoren sind Natriumnaphthalin, Butyllithium oder Natrium in flüssigem
Ammoniak gelöst.
Die Polymerisation von N-3-oxokohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten
Acrylsäureamiden kann auch nach anderen Polymerisationsmethoden durchgeführt werden,
beispielsweise unter Verwendung von Ziegler-Katalysatoren, Bestrahlung mit Gammastrahlen oder
nach thermischen Methoden.
Als Verdünnungsmittel für das Polymerisationsgemisch kann entweder ein inertes Lösungsmittel,
wie Benzol, Toluol, Xylol, Cyclohexan, n-Hexan, Naphtha, Tetrahydrofuran, Paraffmöl oder Dodecan,
oder ein Nichtlösungsmittel verwendet werden, wie Wasser oder flüssiges Ammoniak. Die Polymerisation
kann in Masse, in Lösung, Emulsion oder Suspension durchgeführt werden.
Die Polymerisationstemperatur ist von dem verwendeten Katalysatorsystem und in gewissem Ausmaß
von der Art der zu polymerisierenden Monomeren abhängig. So kann die Mischpolymerisation
von Acrylnitril mit einem N-3-oxokohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten Acrylsäureamid durch einen anionischen
Initiator bei Temperaturen von etwa —100 bis 5O0C, vorzugsweise bei —70 bis 0°C, bewirkt
werden. Andererseits liegt die Optimaltemperatur für die radikalische Homopolymerisation der N-3-oxokohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten
Acrylsäureamide gewöhnlich zwischen 0 bis 1000C, vorzugsweise bei
30 bis 8O0C. In ähnlicher Weise variieren die Optimaltemperaturen
zur Durchführung der radikalischen Mischpolymerisation der Acrylsäureamide mit einem
oder mehreren polymerisierbaren Comonomeren, je nach der Polymerisationsfreudigkeit dieser Monomeren.
In den meisten Fällen liegen die Temperaturen ebenfalls innerhalb des Bereiches von etwa 0 bis
1000C.
Zur Herstellung von Mischpolymerisaten mit den Acrylsäureamiden können die verschiedensten Comonomeren
verwendet werden. Meist sind die Comonomeren polymerisierbare Vinylverbindungen. Zu
ihnen zählen beispielsweise: (1) Ester ungesättigter Alkohole, (2) Ester ungesättigter Säuren, (3) cyclische
Vinylverbindungen, (4) ungesättigte Äther, (5) ungesättigte Ketone, (6) ungesättigte Amide, (7) ungesättigte
aliphatische Kohlenwasserstoffe, (8) Vinylhalogenide, (9) Ester ungesättigter mehrwertiger
Alkohole, beispielsweise Butendiol, (10) ungesättigte Säuren, (11) ungesättigte Säureanhydride, (12) ungesättigte
Säurechloride und (13) ungesättigte Nitrile.
Spezielle Beispiele solcher Verbindungen sind:
1. Ester ungesättigter Alkohole, wie Allyl-, Methallyl-, Crotyl-, 1-Chlorallyl-, 2-Chlorallyl-, Cinnamyl-,
Vinyl-, Methylvinyl-, 1-Phenylallyl- und
Butenylester von a) gesättigten Säuren, wie Essigsäure, Propionsäure, Buttersäure, Valeriansäure,
Capronsäure oder Stearinsäure; b) ungesättigten Säuren, wie Acrylsäure, «-substituierter
Acrylsäure, einschließlich Alkacrylsäure, beispielsweise Methacrylsäure, Äthacrylsäure und
Propacrylsäure, und Arylacrylsäure, wie Phenylacrylsäure,
Crotonsäure, ölsäure, Linolsäure, Linolensäure; c) mehrbasischen Säuren, wie
Oxalsäure, Malonsäure, Bernsteinsäure, Glutarsäure, Adipinsäure, Pimelinsäure, Korksäure,
Azelainsäure, Sebacinsäure; d) ungesättigten mehrbasischen Säuren, wie Maleinsäure, Fumarsäure,
Citraconsäure, Mesaconsäure, Itaconsäure, Methylenmalonsäure, Acetylendicarbonsäure,
Aconitsäure; e) aromatischen Säuren, wie Benzoesäure, Phenylessigsäure, Phthalsäure,
Terephthalsäure und Benzoylphthalsäure.
2. Die Ester von gesättigten Alkoholen, wie Methyl-, Äthyl-, Propyl-, Isopropyl-, Butyl-,
Isobutyl-, sek.-Butyl-, tert.-Butyl-, 2-Äthylhexyl-,
Cyclohexyl- oder Behenylalkohol, mit ungesättigten aliphatischen ein- und mehrbasischen
Säuren, von denen Beispiele oben angeführt sind. Die Alkylacrylate und -methacrylate, in welchen
der Alkylrest 1 bis etwa 30 Kohlenstoffatome enthält, sind wegen ihrer Reaktionsfähigkeit bei
der Mischpolymerisation und der besonderen Wirksamkeit ihrer Mischpolymeren für die
Zwecke dieser Erfindung besonders brauchbar.
3. Ester ungesättigter mehrwertiger Alkohole, wie Butendiol, mit gesättigten und ungesättigten
aliphatischen und aromatischen, ein- und mehrbasischen Säuren, von denen Beispiele oben
gegeben sind.
4. Cyclische Vinylverbindungen, einschließlich a) aromatischen Monovinylkohlenwasserstoffen,
wie Styrol, o-, m-, p-Chlorstyrole, -Bromstyrole,
-Fluorstyrole, -Methylstyrole, -Äthylstyrole, -Cyanstyrole, Di-, Tri- und Tetrachlorstyrole,
-bromstyrole, -fluorstyrole, -methylstyrole, -äthylstyrole, -cyanstyrole, Vinylnaphthalin, Vinylcyclohexan,
Vinylfuran, Vinylpyridin, Vinylbenzofuran, Divinylbenzol, Trivinylbenzol, Allylbenzol,
N - Vinylcarbazol, N - Vinylpyrrolidon, N-Vinyloxazolidon.
5. Ungesättigte Äther, wie Methylvinyläther, Äthylvinyläther,
Cyclohexylvinyläther, Octylvinyläther, Diallyläther, Äthylmethallyläther, Allyläthyläther
und Allyläther.
6. Ungesättigte Ketone, wie Methylvinylketon und Äthylvinylketon.
7. Ungesättigte Amide, wie Acrylamid, N-Methylacrylamid,
N-Phenylacrylamid, N-Allylacrylamid,
N-Methylolacrylamid und N-Allylcaprolactam.
8. Ungesättigte aliphatische Kohlenwasserstoffe, wie Äthylen, Propylen, Butene, Butadien, Isopren,

Vinylidenbromid, Allylchlorid und Allylbromid.
10. Ungesättigte Säuren, wie Acrylsäure, Methacrylsäure, Propacrylsäure und andere vorstehend
angegebene Verbindungen.
11. Ungesättigte Säureanhydride, wie Anhydride von Maleinsäure, Citraconsäure, Itaconsäure,
eis - 4 - Cyclohexen -1,2 - dicarbonsäure und Bicyclo-(2,2,l)-5-hepten-2,3-dicarbonsäure.
12. Ungesättigte Säurehalogenide, wie Cinnamoylhalogenide, Acetylhalogenide, Methacrylylhalogenide,
Crotonylhalogenide, Oleylhalogenide und Fumarylhalogenide.
13. Ungesättigte Nitrile, beispielsweise Acrylnitril, Methacrylnitril und andere N-substituierte Acrylnitrile.
Die relativen Mengenverhältnisse der bei der Mischpolymerisation zu verwendenden N-3-oxokohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten
Acrylsäureamide und der Vinylcomonomeren hängen sowohl von der Reaktionsfähigkeit dieser Monomeren als auch von
den Eigenschaften ab, welche von den Mischpolymeren gewünscht werden. Mischpolymerisate mit
hoher Löslichkeit in Kohlenwasserstoffölen werden erhalten, wenn das Polymerisationsgemisch einen
relativ hohen Anteil eines oleophilen Monomeren enthält, d. h. einer Verbindung, die eine aliphatische
Gruppe mit mindestens etwa 8 Kohlenstoffatomen aufweist. Es wurde gefunden, daß für die meisten
Anwendungen das oleophile Monomere mindestens etwa 50 Gewichtsprozent, vorzugsweise mindestens
etwa 75% des Mischpolymerisats ausmachen soll.
Nachstehend werden Herstellungsvorschriften für einige monomere Acrylsäureamide gegeben. Die
Herstellung wird hier nicht beansprucht.
A. Ein Gemisch aus 185,5 g (3,5 Mol) Acrylnitril und 406 g (7 Mol) Aceton wird tropfenweise zu
g (7 Mol) konzentrierter Schwefelsäure gegeben, während das Reaktionsgemisch durch äußere Kühlung
bei einer Temperatur zwischen 5 und 25 0C gehalten wird. Danach läßt man das Gemisch auf
35 bis 400C erwärmen und gießt es dann langsam auf Eis. Da»s Gemisch wird mit Natriumhydroxyd
neutralisiert und die wäßrige Schicht mit Benzol extrahiert. Die organische Schicht und die Benzollösung
werden vereinigt, mit Calciumchlorid getrocknet und filtriert. Das Filtrat wird eingedampft.
Der Rückstand wird im Vakuum destilliert. Das N-lJ-DimethyW-oxobutyl-acrylsäureamid siedet bei
93 bis 100°C/0,l bis 0,3 Torr; es hat einen Stickstoffgehalt von 8% (Theorie: 8,3%) und ein Molekulargewicht
von 163 (Theorie 169).
B. Ein N - 3 - oxo kohlenwasserstoffsubstituiertes Acrylsäureamid wird hergestellt nach der Arbeitsweise gemäß A mit der Ausnahme, daß das Aceton durch Methyläthylketon (505 g, 7 Mol) ersetzt wird. Das Produkt siedet bei 97 bis 103°C/0,l bis 0,3 Torr. Es hat einen Stickstoffgehalt von 6,9%.
B. Ein N - 3 - oxo kohlenwasserstoffsubstituiertes Acrylsäureamid wird hergestellt nach der Arbeitsweise gemäß A mit der Ausnahme, daß das Aceton durch Methyläthylketon (505 g, 7 Mol) ersetzt wird. Das Produkt siedet bei 97 bis 103°C/0,l bis 0,3 Torr. Es hat einen Stickstoffgehalt von 6,9%.
C. Ein N - 3 - oxokohlenwasserstoffsubstituiertes Acrylsäureamid wird hergestellt nach der Arbeitsweise
gemäß A mit der Ausnahme, daß das Aceton durch Methylisobutylketon (701 g, 7 Mol) ersetzt
wird. Das Produkt siedet bei 103 bis 110cC/0,3 bis 0,5 Torr.
D. Ein Gemisch aus 265 g (5 Mol) Acrylnitril und 581 g (5 Mol) Diacetonalkohol (d. h. 4-Hydroxy-4-methyl-2-pentanon)
wird unterhalb 4O0C portionsweise in 735 g (7,5 Mol) konzentrierte Schwefelsäure
gegeben. Das Reaktionsgemisch wird auf Eis gegossen und mit Natriumhydroxyd neutralisiert. Die
wäßrige Lösung wird mit Benzol extrahiert und der Benzolextrakt mit der organischen Lösung aus dem
Neutralisationsgemisch vereinigt. Die vereinigten Lösungen werden eingedampft. Der Rückstand wird
mit Petroläther behandelt. Hierbei fällt N-1,1-Dimethyl-3-oxobutyl-acrylsäureamid
aus. Das Produkt hat einen Stickstoffgehalt von 8,3% und ein Molekulargewicht von 176.
E. Ein Gemisch aus 159 g (3 Mol) Acrylnitril und 294 g (3 Mol) Mesityloxyd wird innerhalb 45 Minuten
bei einer Temperatur zwischen 25 und 45° C zu 323 g (3,3 Mol) konzentrierter Schwefelsäure
gegeben. Das Gemisch wird 16 Stunden auf 400C erwärmt, mit Eis hydrolysiert und mit Natriumhydroxyd
neutralisiert. Das neutralisierte Gemisch wird mit Benzol extrahiert und die Benzolschicht
dann getrocknet, filtriert und auf 80°C/42Torr erhitzt. Der Rückstand wird destilliert. Das
N -1,1 - Dimethyl - 3 - oxobutyl - acrylamid siedet bei 153 bis 183°C/20Torr; es hat einen Stickstoffgehalt
von 8,1%.
F. Das N - 3 - oxokohlenwasserstoffsubstituierte Acrylamid von A wird nach der Arbeitsweise gemäß
A hergestellt mit der Ausnahme, daß das Keton durch die äquimolare Menge 4-Methoxy-4-methyl-2-pentanon
ersetzt wird.
Nachstehend werden Herstellungsvorschriften für die erfindungsgemäß verwendbaren Polymerisate
gegeben.
G. N-l.l-Dimethyl-S-oxobutyl-acrylsäureamid wird
polymerisiert, indem man 15 g des Acrylamids, 15 g Benzol und 0,1 g Azo-iso-buttersäuredinitril in eine
verschließbare Flasche in Stickstoffatmosphäre bringt und 24 Stunden in einem Heizbad auf 50 bis 53 "C
erhitzt. Die erhaltene Benzollösung wird mit Methanol verdünnt und dann mit Wasser versetzt, wobei ein
hellgelbes, festes Polymerisat ausfällt.
H. Ein Mischpolymerisat aus Decylacrylat und N-lJ-Dimethyl-B-oxobutyl-acrylsäureamid wird erhalten,
indem man 36 g Decylacrylat, 4 g des Acrylamids, 40 g Benzol und 0,1 g Azoisobuttersäuredinitril
in eine Flasche in einer Stickstoffatmosphäre bringt und 20 Stunden auf 52 0C erhitzt. Das Mischpolymerisat
wird aus der Benzollösuhg mit Methanol ausgefällt.
I. Ein Mischpolymerisat des nach der Vorschrift A erhaltenen Acrylsaureamids und einem Fumarsäureester
wird hergestellt, indem man bei 45 bis 77°C in Stickstoffatmosphäre 53 g (0,315 Mol) des Acrylamide,
147 g (0,314 Mol) eines Dialkylfumarats, in welchem jeder Alkylrest sich von einem technischen
Gemisch primärer Alkohole mit 12 bis 14 Kohlenstoffatomen ableitet, 200 g Benzol und 1 g Benzoylperoxyd
3 Stunden rührt. Das Mischpolymerisat fällt aus der Benzollösung nach Zugabe von Methanol
aus. Es hat einen Stickstoffgehalt von 3,2%.
J. Ein Terpolymerisat aus dem nach der Vorschrift A erhaltenen Äcrylsäureamid, Vinylacetat und
einem Dialkylfumarat, in welchem jeder Alkylrest sich von einem technischen Gemisch von Alkoholen
mit 12 bis 16 Atomen ableitet, wird hergestellt, indem man 10 g des Acrylamids, 24,8 g Vinylacetat,
165,2 g des Fumarats, 1 g Benzoylperoxyd und 150 g Benzol in eine Flasche bringt und 18 Stunden auf
6O0C erhitzt. Das Polymerisat wird aus der Benzollösung
mit Methanol ausgefällt. Es hat einen Stickstoffgehalt von 0,53%.
K. Ein Terpolymerisat aus dem nach der Vorschrift A erhaltenen Äcrylsäureamid, N-Vinylpyrrolidon
und dem Dialkylfumarat von I wird hergestellt, indem man 27,7 g des Acrylamids, 18,2 g des
N-Vinylpyrrolidons und 154 g des Fumarats, 1 g Benzoylperoxyd und 150 g Benzol in eine Flasche
in Stickstoffatmosphäre bringt und 20 Stunden auf 6O0C erhitzt. Das Polymerisat wird mit Methanol
ausgefällt.
L. Ein Terpolymerisat aus dem nach der Vorschrift A erhaltenen Äcrylsäureamid N-Vinyloxazolidon
und dem Dialkylfumarat von I wird erhalten, indem man 35,5 g des Acrylamids, 12,8 gdes N-Vinyloxazolidons,
151,7 g des Fumarats, 0,2 g Azo-isobuttersäuredinitril und 150 g Benzol in eine Flasche
in Stickstoffatmosphäre bringt und 22 Stunden auf 6O0C erhitzt. Das Polymerisat wird mit Methanol
ausgefällt.
M. Es wird ein Terpolymerisat aus dem nach der Vorschrift A erhaltenen Äcrylsäureamid Isopren und
dem Dialkylfumarat von I hergestellt, indem man 28,7 g des Acrylamids, 11,6 g Isopren, 159,7 g des
Fumarats, 0,2 g Azo-iso-buttersäuredinitril und 150 g Benzol in eine Flasche in Stickstoffatmosphäre
bringt und 22 Stunden auf 60° C erhitzt. Das Polymerisat wird mit Methanol ausgefällt.
N. Nach der Arbeitsweise H wird ein Mischpolymerisat aus Decylacrylat (36 Gewichtsteile) und
dem Äcrylsäureamid von Vorschrift B (4 Teile) gewonnen. Das Mischpolymerisat hat einen Stickstoffgehalt
von 0,73% (Theorie: 0,71%).
O. Nach der Arbeitsweise H wird ein Mischpolymerisat
aus Decylacrylat (36 Gewichtsteile) und dem Äcrylsäureamid von C (4 Teile) hergestellt.
Das Mischpolymerisat hat einen Stickstoffgehalt von 0,51%.
P. Nach der Arbeitsweise H wird ein Mischpolymerisat aus Decylacrylat und N-l,l-Dimethyl-3-oxobutyl-acrylsäureamid
A (Gewichtsverhältnis 85 : 15) hergestellt.
Q. Es wird ein Mischpolymerisat aus Acrylnitril und dem Äcrylsäureamid von A hergestellt, indem
man 80 g (1,51 Mol) Acrylnitril, 20 g (0,118 Mol) des Acrylsaureamids und 100 g Tetrahydrofuran miteinander
vermischt und bei —25 0C einen anionischen Polymerisationskatalysator langsam zugibt, welcher
dadurch hergestellt wird, daß man 2,3 g (0,10 Mol) Natrium und 12,8 g (0,1 Mol) Naphthalin in 30 g
Tetrahydrofuran auflöst. Man läßt das Gemisch auf Raumtemperatur erwärmen. Es tritt eine exotherme
Reaktion ein, welche einen Temperaturanstieg auf 500C verursacht. Das ausgefällte Polymerisat wird
aus der Lösung abfiltriert und dadurch gereinigt, daß man es in Dimethylformamid auflöst und durch
Zusatz von Methanol wieder ausfallt. Das getrocknete Polymerisat hat einen Stickstoffgehalt von 23,5%.
R. N-1,1 -Dimethyl-3-oxobutyl-acrylsäureamid wird
polymerisiert, indem man bei — 700C 60 g des Acrylsaureamids in 150 g flüssiges Ammoniak einträgt,
welches 2 g Natrium gelöst enthält, das Gemisch 1 Stunde bei -35 bis -70°C rührt und dann
das Gemisch unter Verdampfung des Ammoniaks auf Raumtemperatur erwärmen läßt. Das Produkt
wird in wäßrigem 90%igem Methanol gelöst und mit verdünnter Salzsäure angesäuert. Das ausgefällte
kautschukartige Polymer wird mit Wasser gewaschen. Das Polymere wird weiter gereinigt, indem man es in
Aceton auflöst und durch Zusatz von Methanol wieder ausfällt. Das getrocknete Polymerisat hat
einen Stickstoffgehalt von 8,03%.
Die besondere Brauchbarkeit der Polymerisate beruht auf der Anwesenheit des Oxorestes in den
Acrylsäureamideinheiten. So wurde gefunden, daß der Oxorest den polaren Charakter der Polymerisate
erhöht. Dies führt beispielsweise zu einer größeren Reinigungswirkung der Polymerisate, wenn diese als
Zusatz in Mineralschmierölen verwendet werden.
Bei Zusatz zu einem Mineralschmieröl verleihen die Polymerisate der N-3-oxokohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten
Acrylsäureamide Reinigungseigenschaften, verbessern die Viskositätsindexwerte und erniedrigen
'den Stockpunkt des Schmieröls. Typische erfindungsgemäß verwendete Mineralschmieröle haben eine
Viskosität im Bereich von etwa 50 SUS bei 380C
bis zu 500 SUS bei 99°C; es sind vorzugsweise raffinierte Mineralschmieröle der Qualitäten SAE 5
bis SAE 120. Die Konzentration der Polymerisate in den Mineralschmierölen beträgt 0,1 bis 10 Gewichtsprozent,
vorzugsweise 0,5% bis 5 Gewichtsprozent.
Gewünschtenfalls können die Mineralschmieröle auch noch andere herkömmliche Zusätze enthalten,
wie metallhaltige Reinigungsmittel, beispielsweise Barium-di-dodecylbenzolsulfonat, Calciummahagonisulfonat,
Inhibitoren, beispielsweise Zink-dioctyldithiophosphat,
Dioctylphosphit, Phenyl-/?-naphthylamin oder 2,6-Di-tert.-butyl-4-methylphenol, belastungstragende
Zusätze, beispielsweise chloriertes Wachs oder Dicyclohexyldisulfid und ergänzende
viskositätsindexverbessernde Mittel.
Die viskositätsindexverbessernden Eigenschaften der erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Polymerisate werden
durch die Ergebnisse in Tabelle I veranschaulicht. Das Grundöl, auf welches sich die Ergebnisse beziehen,
ist ein öl auf Mineralbasis SAE 10 W-30 mit einem Viskositätswert von 46,5 SUS/99°C und einem
Viskositätsindexwert von 95. Die Konzentration des
Zusatzes im Schmiermittel beträgt 1,5 Gewichtsprozent.

IO Raumtemperatur stehengelassen und dann bei 20 mm Quecksilberdruck durch zwei Schichten Whatman-Filterpapier
Nr. 1 filtriert. Das Gewicht des Niederschlages, mit Naphtha gewaschen und getrocknet,
wird als Maß für die Wirksamkeit des Zusatzes genommen. Je größer das Gewicht des Niederschlages,
um so weniger wirksam ist der Zusatz. Das in diesem Test verwendete Schmieröl ist ein herkömmliches
raffiniertes Midcontinent-Erdöl mit einer Viskosität von etwa 200 SUS bei 38 0C und einem Gehalt an
0,001 Gewichtsprozent Eisennaphthenat (zur Förderung der Oxydation).
Die Wirksamkeit der erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Polymerisate zur Erniedrigung des Stockpunktes von
Mineralschmierölen wird durch die Ergebnisse der Tabelle II gezeigt. Das Grundöl, auf welches sich
diese Ergebnisse beziehen, ist ein Mineralschmieröl SAE 10 mit einem Stockpunkt von —23 0C.

Die Wirksamkeit der erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Polymerisate als Zusatzstoffe in Mineralschmierölen,
um diesen Reinigungseigenschaften zu verleihen, wird durch die Ergebnisse (nachstehende Tabelle 111)
eines Reinigungstests gezeigt. Bei diesem Test wird eine 350-ml-Probe eines Schmieröls, welches den
Reinigungszusatz enthält, in ein 5 · 38 cm Borsilicatrohr gebracht. Eine Stahltafel wird in das öl eingetaucht.
Die Probe wird 96 Stunden auf 149 C erhitzt, während man mit einer Geschwindigkeit von 101
je Stunde Luft durch das öl perlen läßt. Die oxydierte Probe wird auf 49 C abgekühlt, mit 0,5ü/u
Wasser vermischt, homogenisiert, 24 Stunden bei Reinigungstest mg Schlammablagerung/

- Patentanspruch:Mineralschmieröl, gekennzeichnet durch einen Gehalt eines Polymerisats, das durch Polymerisieren eines N-3-oxokohlenwasserstoffsubstituierten Acrylsäureamids der allgemeinen FormelO OR — C — R1 — NH — C — C = CH2R2in welcher R und R2 Wasserstoff oder ein Ci -10-Alkyl- oder Cycloalkylrest bedeuten und R1 ein Äthylenrest oder ein durch einen Ch 10-Alkylrest substituierter Äthylenrest ist, gegebenenfalls zusammen mit anderen polymerisierbaren olefinisch ungesättigten Verbindungen erhalten worden ist.809 518/617 3.68 © Bundesdruckerei Berlin
