Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Herstellen von Formteilen durch Hitzehärten von Polyesterformmassen,
die ungesättigte verzweigte thermoplastische Polyester, anpolymerisierbare ungesättigte Verbindungen
sowie Peroxyde als Katalysatoren enthalten. Kennzeichnend für die Erfindung ist, daß als ungesättigte
verzweigte thermoplastische Polyester solche in den Massen enthalten sind, die durch Umsetzen des
Anhydrids einer ungesättigten Dicarbonsäure mit einem Monoepoxyd — das außerdem keine mit dem
Anhydrid reaktionsfähigen Gruppen aufweist — und einer ausschließlich durch COOH-Gruppen mindestens
trifunktionellen organischen Verbindung bei einer 150° C nicht übersteigenden Temperatur — wobei das
Molverhältnis von Monoepoxyd zu Dicarbonsäureanhydrid zwischen 2: 1 und 1:2 lag und das Molverhältnis
von Anhydrid plus Monoepoxyd zu der mindestens trifunktionellen organischen Verbindung
größer als 7: 1 war — erhalten, worden sind.
Polyester werden normalerweise durch Veresterung zweibasischer Säuren oder ihrer Anhydride mit mehrwertigen
Alkoholen unter Wasserabspalteung gebildet. Aus der USA.-Patentschrift 2 720 500 ist die
Herstellung von hitzehärtbaren harzartigen Polyestern aus organischen zweibasischen Säuren, mehrwertigen
Alkoholen und Epoxyverbindungen bekannt.
Verzweigte thermoplastische Harze können durch Anwendung von Verbindungen mit mehr als zwei
funktioneilen Gruppen in kleinen Mengen hergestellt werden. Enthalten die Reaktionsmassen aber größere
Mengen von Verbindungen mit mehr als zwei funktioneilen Gruppen, so entstehen unter den gewöhnlich
angewandten Reaktionsbedingungen vernetzte Produkte mit einer größeren Zahl von Seitenketten. Es ist
so schwierig oder gar unmöglich, thermoplastische Polyester mit hohen Molekulargewichten zu gewinnen.
Um thermoplastische Produkte zu erhalten, müssen in der Reaktionsmasse gewöhnlich funktioneile Kettenstopper
anwesend sien. um zu verhindern, daß die funktioneilen Gruppen unter Bildung dreidimensionaler
Strukturen weiterreagieren. Hochverzweigte und gleichzeitig nicht vernetzte Polyester mit hohem Molekulargewicht
sind demzufolge so gut wie unbekannt.
Beim Herstellen der Polyester, die erfindungsgemäß in den zu härtenden Formmassen enthalten sind,
werden die drei Reaktionspartner unter solchen Bedingungen umgesetzt, daß während der Reaktion kein
Wasser gebildet wird. Mit anderen Worten: Die Reaktion wird unter genügend milden Bedingungen,
also bei einer Temperatur durchgeführt, die zwar ausreicht, die Carboxyl-Epoxyd-Reaktion ablaufen zu
lassen, nicht dagegen die Carboxyl-Hydroxyl- oder Verfahren zum Herstellen
von Formteilen durch Hitzehärten
von Polyesterformmassen

Louisville, Ky. (V. St. Α.), sind als Erfinder genannt worden
Veresterungsreaktion, die zur Bildung von Wasser führen würde. Die angewandte Temperatur darf
1500C nicht übersteigen. Die Temperatur soll möglichst in dem Gebiet zwischen 115 und 130° gehalten
werden.
Beispiele für Monoxyoxyde sind Phenylglycidyläther, Isopropylglycidyläther, Glycidylbenzoat, Butylglycidyläther,
Allylglycidyläther, Glycidylacrylat, ein Glycidylmethacrylat, Glycidylcrotonat, Glycidylacetat.
Dicarbonsäureanhydride sind sowohl aliphatisch© als auch aromatische gesättigte oder ungesättigte
Dicarbonsäureanhydride, ζ. Β. Bernsteinsäure-, Adipinsäure-, Maleinsäure-, Glutarsäure-, Phthalsäure-,
Isobernsteinsäure, und Sebazinsäureanhydride, Naphthalindicarbonsäureanhydride. Ebenfalls verwendbar
sind Endo-cis-bicyclo(2,2,l)-5-hepten-2,3-dicarbonsäureanhydrid und 1,4,5,6,7,7-Hexachloro-bicyclo-(2,2,l)-5-hepten-2,3-dicarbonsäureanhydrid.
Das Molverhältnis von Monoepoxyd zu Anhydrid muß 2: 1 bis 1: 2 und das Molverhälntis von Anhydrid
plus Monoepoxyd zur trifunktionellen organischen Verbindung größer als 7 : 1 sein.
Die in den nachfolgenden Beispielen angegebenen Viskositäten sind Gardner-Holdt-Viskositäten, gemessen
bei 23 0C.

Beispiel 1 gedichtet und mittels sechs Klemmen zusammen-
a) Herstellung eines verzweigten Polyesters, ^^it Klemmen sind so weit angezogen daß

Claims (1)
- Patentanspruch.Verfahren zum Herstellen von Formteilen durch Hitzehärten von Polyesterformmassen, die unge- 45 sättigte verzweigte thermoplastische Polyester, anpolymerisierbare ungesättigte Verbindungen sowie Peroxyde als Katalysatoren enthalten, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Massen als ungesättigte verzweigte thermoplastische Polyester solche ent- 50 halten, die durch Umsetzen des Anhydrides einer ungesättigten Dicarbonsäure mit einem Monoepoxyd — das außerdem keine mit dem Anhydrid reaktionsfähigen Gruppen aufweist — und einer ausschließlich durch COOH-Gruppen oder OH-Gruppen mindestens trifunktionellen organischen Verbindung bei einer 15O0C nicht übersteigenden Temperatur — wobei das Molverhältnis von Monoepoxyd zu Dicarbonsäureanhydrid zwischen 2: und 1: 2 lag und das Molverhältnis von Anhydrid plus Monoepoxyd zu der mindestens trifunktionellen organischen Verbindung größer als 7: 1 war — erhalten worden sind.In Betracht gezogene Druckschriften: USA.-Patentschrift Nr. 2 720 500.© 309 730/352 10.63
