Es wurde gefunden,. daß Kondensationsprodukte von Äthylenoxyd und/oder Propylenoxyd und verzweigten
primären aliphatischen Alkoholen mit mehr als zwei Seitenketten außerordentlich gute oberflächenaktive
Eigenschaften aufweisen, die sie zur Verwendung als Netz-, Reiriigungs- und Emulgiermittel sehr geeignet
machen. Auch die Phosphorsäure- und Schwefelsäureester dieser neuen Produkte sind für den gleichen Zweck
gut zu gebrauchen. Gewünschtenfalls können die freien OH-Gruppen der Säurereste solcher Ester auch mit
einem Alkali- oder Erdalkalimetall sowie durch Ammoniak oder ein geeignetes Amin neutralisiert werden.
Die erfindungsgemäß zu verwendenden Verbindungen werden, erhalten, indem man 1 bis 12 Mol Äthylenoxyd
oder Propylenoxyd mit 1 Mol eines primären aliphatischen Alkohols mit 10 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen, der
mehr als zwei Seitenketten enthält, kondensiert. Wenn das gewünschte Endprodukt ein Ester sein soll, wird anschließend
mit einer starken Mineralsäure verestert;

In dieser Formel bedeutet R eine Alkylgruppe von 9 bis 19 Kohlenstoffatomen, die mehr als zwei Seitenketten
enthält, und X Wasserstoff oder die CH3-Gruppe, η ist eine ganze Zahl von 1 bis 12, und Z ist -Wasserstoff
oder die SO3H-Gruppe oder die PO3H2-Gruppe. Das
Kation des Säurerestes kann durch Alkali-, Erdalkali oder Ammonium ersetzt bzw. an ein Amin gebunden sein.

Vorzugsweise werden verzweigtkettige Alkohole verwendet, welche, durch k~atäly^ische'"T^eäli-"'
tion eines Olefins, wie Xfj^jüß^Mtt^%efräpropylen, Pentapropylen,
Triisobutylen,undJTetr.äisobutyl.en.mit.Kühlen-.
monoxyd und Wasserstoff hergestellt werden. Bei dieser Reaktion wird ein Aldeityd gebildet;· der anschließend
durch katalytisch^ Reduktion zu einem Alkohol umgewandelt wird. Dieses zweisTufige VerfahrenTst unter dem
Namen Oxosynthese bekannt,*1 und-;€s wird dabei immer
eine größere Menge von' verzweigtkettigen Produkten
gebildet. - ; -
Das Olefin lagert sich auch leicht in Gegenwart eines
Oxokatalysators um, und die Möglichkeit der Verzweigung
im Alkoholendprodukt'■Vird dadurch stark erhöht.
Die Alkohole, von'denen .man bei der Herstellung der
erfindungsgemaß zu. verwendenden Verbindungen ausgeht,
können mit der erforderlichen Anzahl von Molen von Äthylenoxyd oder Propylenoxyd oder einer Mischung
der beiden Oxyde in bekannter Weise kondensiert werden. Die Kondensation wird vorzugsweise-bei erhöhter Tem-
■ peratur und bei erhöhtem! Druck ausgeführt und kann
durch ;quaternäre Bäsen; Ä'mine oder s'aure Verbindungen
katalysiert werden. Die stark alkalischen Katalysatoren, wie.KOH oder NaOH^ wferden;bevorzugt, da mit ihnen
weniger Nebenprodukte gebildet werden und die Reak- -: tionsbedingungen leichter 'kontrolliert "werden können.

Eigenschaften vorteilhaft von Produkten der gleichen
Art,' die sich von geradkettigen aliphatischen Alkoholen ableiten. Aus den folgenden Tabellen sind die Netzwerte
einiger von verzweigtkettigen und von geradkettigen Alkoholen abgeleiteter Additionsprodukte der beschriebenen
Art ersichtlich. Diese Werte gelten, falls nichts
anderes angegeben, für eine Netzkonzentration (in g/l) vom Diavesschen Netztest für 25 Sekunden. Der verwendete
verzweigtkettige C13-Alkohol wurde dabei mittels
der Oxosynthese aus Tetrapropylen oder Triisobutylen hergestellt, und der verzweigtkettige C16-Alkohol wurde
in gleicher Weise aus Pentapropylen erhalten.

Die Menge an umgesetztem Äthylenoxyd oder Propylenoxyd
bestimmt die Verwendbarkeit des Produktes. Zum Beispiel werden aus 2 bis 7 Mol Äthylenoxyd und
Tridecylalkohol aus der Oxosynthese wertvolle Emulgierungsmittel
für mineralische und vegetabilische Öle erhalten. Bei Addition von mehr Äthylenoxyd (z. B. 8
oder 10 Mol) haben die Produkte eine ungewöhnlich gute Netzwirkung nach dem Dravesschen Test, und sie sind
insbesondere als Geschirrwaschmittel und Reinigungsmittel verwendbar. Diejenigen Verbindungen, die durch
Behandlung von Tridecylalkohol aus der Oxosynthese mit 8 bis 9 und vorzugsweise 8,5 Mol Äthylenoxyd erhalten
werden, haben eine außergewöhnliche Wirksamkeit. ■
Die oberflächenaktiven Eigenschaften von Estern und Salzen dieser Ester sind in der folgenden Tabelle II zusammengestellt,
wobei die Sulfate in Form ihrer Ammoniumsalze und die Phosphate in Form ihrer Natriumsalze
verwendet wurden. Aus Tabelle II ist ersichtlich, daß die Produkte aus verzweigtkettigem Tridecyl- und

Die Mischung wird dann zusätzlich 40 Minuten^ ηο- vorzugsweise von'2 bis lO, und Z Wasserstoff,'dieι uoySO3H- oder die PO3H2-Grüppe darstellt, wobei das Kation des Säurerestes auch durch Alkali, Erdalkali oder Ammonium ersetzt oder an ein Amin gebunden sein kann, als oberflächenaktive Mittel.
- 2. Ausführungsform nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß ein Polyäthylenglykoläther eines verzweigtkettigen Tridecylalkohols, in welchem Äthylenoxyd und der Alkohol in einem Gewichtsverhältnis von etwa 1,86 vorliegen, als Netzmittel verwendet wird.
- 3. Ausführungsform nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß ein Polyäthylenglykoläther eines10verzweigtkettigen . Hexadecylalkohols, in welchem Äthylenoxyd und der Alkohol in einem Gewichtsverhältnis von etwa 1,02 vorliegen, als Emulgator und Stabilisator in Insectizidemulsionen verwendet wird.
- 4. Ausführungsform nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der Sulfatester von dem Triäthylenglykoläther eines verzweigtkettigen Tridecylalkohols als Netzmittel verwendet wird.In Betracht gezogene Druckschriften:
