Description
DEUTSCHES
Zur Verwendung in hydraulischen Vorrichtungen geeignete Flüssigkeiten müssen unbrennbar oder
schlecht brennbar, nicht korrodierend, hitzebeständig und oxydationsbeständig sein. Gemische dieser Art
sollen auch keine schädlichen Wirkungen auf Dichtungen und andere nicht metallische Teile der Anlage,
in welchen sie verwendet werden, ausüben. Sie dürfen auch nicht gesundheitsschädlich sein. Bekannte hydraulische
Flüssigkeiten, wie Mineralöle oder organische Flüssigkeiten, wie Ricinusöl, Carbonsäureester,
organische Phosphate, Glykole und ihre Derivate, Siliconpolymere, chlorierte oder fluorierte organische
Stoffe, sowie wäßrige Lösungen lassen eine oder mehrere der erwünschten Eigenschaften, welche solche
Flüssigkeiten aufweisen sollen, vermissen. So sind Mineralöle leicht brennbar, Ricinusöl verursacht
Schlamm- und Harzbildung, Ester von Carbonsäuren verursachen Quellung von Kautschuk, die organischen
Phosphate und die Glykole sind korrodierend, die halogenhaltigen Stoffe neigen zur Hydrolyse, und SiIiconverbindungen
haben geringe Schlüpfrigkeit und sind gesundheitsschädlich. Bekannte wäßrige hydrauliche
Flüssigkeiten sind zwar nicht brennbar; sie sind aber korrodierend und verursachen Abnutzung in der
Apparatur.
Erfindungsgemäß wird als hydraulische Flüssigkeit eine Wasser-in-Öl-Emulsion verwendet, die kleine
Mengen eines öllöslichen Sulfonates eines mehrwertigen Metalls sowie einen mindestens teilweise öllöslichen
Teilester aus einem mehrwertigen Alkohol und einer organischen Säure enthält.
Diese Wasser-in-Öl-Emulsion ist bei Verwendung als hydraulische Flüssigkeit gegen Feuer widerstandsfähig,
besitzt gute Schmiereigenschaften (selbst wenn sie ungünstigen Bedingungen bezüglich Temperatur,
Belastung und Geschwindigkeit, wie sie in verschiedenen hydraulischen Anlagen auftreten, unterworfen
werden), ist stabil, unbrennbar und beständig gegen Zersetzung, verhindert Korrosionen und verursacht
keine Abnutzung.
Es ist wichtig, daß die Emulsion einen wesentlichen Anteil Wasser enthält, um sie unbrennbar zu machen.
Andererseits muß das Wasser in dem öl dispergiert sein, so daß das öl die kontinuierliche Phase darstellt,
welche mit den Metallteilen der Einrichtung in Berührung kommt, um Schmierung herbeizuführen
und Schutz gegen Korrosion zu geben. Das öllösliche Sulfonat eines mehrwertigen Metalls dient als
Dispergiermittel für das Wasser in dem öl, während es gleichzeitig auch als Antikorrosionsmittel
wirkt. Der Teilester (in Kombination mit dem Sulfonat) sichert die erforderliche Emulsionsstabilität
und das Fließvermögen, während er gleichzeitig auch einen guten Schutz gegen Korrosion und Abnutzung

Die wäßrige Phase der Wasser-in-Öl-Emulsion beträgt im allgemeinen 20 bis 45% und vorzugsweise
30 bis 40 Gewichtsprozent der Emulsion. Die ölphase, welche den Rest der Grundkomponenten der
Emulsion ausmacht, schwankt von 55 bis 80% und vorzugsweise von 60 bis 70 Gewichtsprozent der
Emulsion. Das öl kann vollständig aus einem Kohlenwasserstofföl mit einem weiten Viskositätsbereich bestehen,
z. B. mit einer Viskosität von weniger als 50 Saybolt-Sekunden-Universal bei 100° F (37,8°) bis
150 Saybolt-Sekunden-Universal bei 210° F (98,9°).
öle dieser Art können aus verschiedenen Rohölen erhalten werden, wie paraffinischen, naphthene sehen
oder gemischten Rohölen. Bevorzugt werden raffinierte öle mit dem Viskositätsbereich des Schmieröls.
Andererseits kann das Kohlenwasserstofföl vermischt werden mit fetten Ölen, wie Ricinusöl oder Specköl,
und bzw. oder mit synthetischen Schmiermitteln, wie polymerisierten Olefinen, Estern organischer oder anorganischer
Säuren (z. B. Di-2-äthylhexylsebazat, Dioctylphthalat, Trioctylphosphat), polymeren! Tetrahydrofuran,
Polyalkylsiliconpolymeren (ζ. Β. Dimethylsiliconpolymerisat). Wenn Gemische oder Verschnitte
verwendet werden, liegt das Kohlenwasserstofföl, ζ. Β. ein mineralisches Schmieröl, vorzugsweise
in überwiegender Menge von z. B. 60 bis 95 Gewichtsprozent des verschnittenen Öls, vor. Ein direktdestilliertes
mineralisches Schmieröl mit einem Viskositätsindex von mindestens 50 und einer Viskosität
zwischen 75 und 200 Saybolt-Sekunden-Universal bei 100° (37,8°) wird im allgemeinen bevorzugt.

oder einer Mischung solcher Säuren sein, welche aus irgendeinem geeigneten Material, z. B. mineralischen
Schmierölfraktionen, alkylsubstituierten aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen und alkylsubstituierten
aromatischen Kohlenwasserstoffen, die polare Substituenten enthalten, stammen und nach irgendeiner
der bekannten Arbeitsweisen hergestellt worden sein können.
Bevorzugt eingesetzt werden Sulfonate mehrwertiger, insbesondere zwei- oder dreiwertiger Metalle,
wie die Sulfonate der Metalle der Gruppe II des Periodischen Systems mit einer Ordnungszahl von 12
mit 10 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen, wobei gesättigte und ungesättigte Fettsäuren mit 10 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatomen
eingeschlossen sind, wie Laurin-, Stearin-, Öl- und Linolsäure, sowie aliphatische Polycarbon-5
säuren, wie. Alkenylbernsteinsäure, Alkyladipinsäure u. dgl. Die cycloaliphatischen Carbonsäuren umfassen
z. B. Naphthensäuren, Cyclohexancarbonsäure, Abietinsäure u. dgl. Die aromatischen Säuren umfassen
z. B. die substituierten aromatischen Carbonsäuren, ίο wie Benzoesäure, Salicylsäure, Phthalsäure, Anthranilsäure,
von welchen wiederum die alkylierten SaIicylsäuren und die alkylierten Anthranilsäuren bevorzugt
werden, in welchen die Alkylradikale von 3 bis 20 Kohlenstoffatome enthalten. Sulfonsäuren umfasbis

Säuren als Bestandteil der als hydraulische Flüssigkeit zu verwendenden Emulsion geeignet. Im allgemeinen
werden Teilester von Fettsäuren mit 8 bis 32
Kohlenstoffatomen benutzt, in welchen das Verhältnis 40 wichtsprozent, berechnet auf das Gesamtgemisch, vervon

hole aus verschiedenen mehrwertigen Alkoholen. Die Eigenschaften wesentlich zu ändern, enthalten, wie
teilweise Dehydratisierung wandelt die einfacheren 55 anorganische und organische Nitrite, wasserlösliche
Alkohole in lineare Ätheralkohole und einige der Salze mehrwertiger Metalle, z. B. Calcium-, Barium-
sesquioleat, Sorbitanmonosulfonat, Sorbitanmononaphthenat und Mannitanmonolaureat.
Ester die von den Zuckeralkoholen abgeleitet sind, umfassen z. B. Glucosemonooleat, Glucosericinoleat,
Sorbosemonostearat und Fructosemonooleat.
Die Ester werden im allgemeinen in einer Menge von 0,3 bis 2% und vorzugsweise von 0,4 bis 1 Ge
höheren Alkohole in innere Ätheralkohole um. So bildet sich 2. B. aus Äthylenglykol Diäthylenglykol,
Triäthylenglykol, und Mannit, Sorbit liefern Hexitane, wie Mannitan und Sorbitan. Die Hexitane können
mit Alkylenoxyden, wie Äthylenoxyd, oder GIykolen unter Bildung gemischter Ätheralkohole veräthert
werden. Weiterhin können wasserlösliche Zuckeralkohole (Aldose- und Ketose-Kohlehydrate)
eingesetzt werden.
Die Säurekomponente der Teilester umfaßt aliphatische Carbonsäuren, cycloaliphatische Carbonsäuren,
aromatische Carbonsäuren, Sulfonsäuren. Die aliphatischen Carbonsäuren umfassen die ein- und mehr-
oder Magnesiumnitrit, -nitrat, -sulfat, -chlorid, -chromat,
-formiat, -acetat, Diisopropylammoniumnitrit, schaumhindernde Mittel, wie Silicone.
Die erfindungsgemäß verwendbaren Emulsionen sind leicht herzustellen, wobei keine besondere Einrichtung
oder kein spezielles technisches Verfahren notwendig ist, z. B. durch Zugabe von Wasser unter
ständigem Rühren des Gemisches in der erforderlichen Menge zu dem öl, welches das Sulfonat und den
Teilester enthält. Erhitzen der Emulsion während und nach ihrer Herstellung ist nicht notwendig. Gewünschtenfalls
kann die Emulsion zur Erzielung eines homogenen Gemisches einer homogenisierenden Ein
wertigen Carbonsäuren mit 8 bis 32 und vorzugsweise 70 wirkung unterworfen werden.
Es wurde eine Zusammensetzung (A) hergestellt durch langsames Zusetzen von 40 % Wasser unter
Rühren in einen Kessel, welcher 60% raffiniertes Mineralöl mit einer Viskosität von 150 Saybolt-Sekunden-Universal
bei 1000F (37,8°) enthielt, wobei 5
in dem Öl 5°/o basisches Erdölsulfonat und 0,6°/» Glycerinmonooleat enthalten waren. Das ganze Gemisch
wurde gerührt und in eine Homogenisiervorrichtung übergeführt, in welcher es etwa 5 Minuten
gerührt wurde, bis eine homogene Wasser-in-öl-Emulsion gebildet war. Unter der Bezeichnung »basisches
Erdölsulfonat« wird hier ein Calciumerdölsulfonat verstanden, bei welchem die Menge Calciumcarbonat,
die zur Herstellung des Calciumerdöilsulfonates verwendet worden war, annähernd das Doppelte jener
Menge betrug, die zum Neutralisieren der Erdölsulfonsäure erforderlich ist. In ähnlicher Weise wurde
ein Zusammensetzung (B) hergestellt, mit der Ausnahme, daß neutrales Erdölsulfonat an Stelle des
basischen Erdölsulfonates gemäß Mischung A verwendet wurde.
Andere Beispiele für die erfindungsgemäß zu verwendenden Wasser-in-Öl-Emulsionen umfassen solche,
welche 3 bis 5% neutrales oder basisches Calcium-, Barium- und bzw. oder Zinkerdölsulfonat oder Diwachsbenzolsulfonat
sowie 0,4 bis 1 % Glycerinmonooleat, Glycerinmonostearat, Sorbitmonooleat, Sorbitdioleat
und bzw. oder Glucosemonooleat enthalten. Zu jeder dieser Mischungen können übliche korrosionshindernde
und Abnutzung verhindernde Mittel, wie Calciumacetat oder -nitrat, in Mengen von etwa 10%
dispergiert in der Wasserphase, der Emulsion zugesetzt werden.
Die außergewöhnlich günstigen Eigenschaften der erfindungsgemäß als hydraulische Flüssigkeiten verwendeten
Emulsionen sind aus Prüfungsergebnissen ersichtlich, welche bei Untersuchung dieser Flüssigkeiten
im Vergleich mit anderen Gemischen erhalten wurden. Bei Prüfung in einer Flügelradpumpe vom
Typ Vicker unter Einwirkung während 200 Stunden bei 70 at, 1200 Umdrehungen pro Minute und 65,5°
ergab sich bei Mischungen A und B gemäß vorliegender Erfindung keine Abnutzung der Vorrichtung, und
es wurde keine Wasserabtrennung festgestellt. Andererseits ergaben ähnliche Prüfungen bei einer
Mischung X (40% Wasser ■— 60% Mineralölemulsion mit 1,2% basischem, öllöslichem Calciumerdölsulfonat
und 1,2% Calcium - C14 - C18 - alkylsalicylat)
und bei einer Mischung Y (Wasser-in-öl-Emulsion mit einem Gehalt von 0,1% Glycerinmonooleat,
0,015% Natriumerdölsulfonat, 0,5% geblasenes Rapsöl und 0,02% l-Oxyäthyl-2-heptadecenylglyoxalidin)
Wasserabscheidung im Falle der Mischung X und Ölabscheidung im Falle der Mischung Y nach
3stündiger Einwirkung.
Bei den Entflammbarkeitsprüfungen, wie sie in Aeronautical Material Specification 3150B beschrieben
sind, ergaben die Zusammensetzungen A und B ausgezeichnete Ergebnisse; sie entsprachen auch gut dem
Rohrreinigungstest, dem Auspufftest und dem Hochtemperatursprühtest.
Bei der Prüfung in der Stirnradgetriebevorrichtung ergab sich beim Arbeiten mit 3600 Umdrehungen pro
Minute bei 100° F (37,8°; Temperatur des zugeführten Öls) für die Mischungen A und B ein Belastungswert
von 28, während ein direkt destilliertes Mineralöl einen Wert von 10 ergab. Diese Vorrichtung besteht
im wesentlichen aus zwei geometrisch ähnlichen Paaren von Zahnradgetrieben, welche durch zwei parallele
Wellen verbunden sind. Die Getrieberäderpaare sind in getrennten Getriebegehäusen untergebracht, welche
auch die tragenden Kugellager enthalten. Eine der Wellen besteht aus zwei Teilen, die durch eine Kupplung
verbunden sind. Die Belastung wird durchgeführt, indem man die eine Seite der Kupplung bremst und
auf die andere Seite ein Drehmoment einwirken läßt.
Ähnliche Ergebnisse, wie sie mit den Zusammensetzungen A und B in der Vickerpumpe, bei dem oben
angegebenen Entflammungstest und in der Getriebeprüfvorrichtung erhalten wurden, können auch mit
den anderen oben beschriebenen Zusammensetzungen erzielt werden.
Die erfindungsgemäß verwendeten Wasser-in-Öl-Emulsionen sind besonders geeignet zur Anwendung
in Spritzguß vorrichtungen, Vorrichtungen für Kokillenguß, bei Stahlwerkseinrichtungen, Koks-Ausstoßvorrichtungen,
Rohrkupplungsspannvorrichtungen, Verbrennungsregelungsmechanismen, Formpressen für
plastische Massen, Glasblasmaschinen.
Claims (8)
1. Verwendung einer Wasser-in-öl-Emulsion, welche einen kleinen Anteil eines öl'löslichen Sulfonates
eines mehrwertigen Metalls sowie einen mindestens teilweise öllöslichen Teilester aus einem
mehrwertigen Alkohol und einer organischen Säure enthält, als hydraulische Flüssigkeit.
2. Ausführungsform der Erfindung nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das SuI-fonat
des mehrwertigen Metalls in einer Menge von 2 bis 10 Gewichtsprozent und vorzugsweise
von 3 bis 5 Gewichtsprozent, berechnet auf das Gesamtgemisch, vorliegt.
3. Ausführungsform der Erfindung nach Anspruch 1 und 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß das
Sulfonat eines mehrwertigen Metalls ein Erdalkalisulfonat, insbesondere ein neutrales oder
basisches Calciumsulfonat ist.
4. Ausführungsform der Erfindung nach Anspruch 1 bis 3, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß der
Teilester aus einem mehrwertigen Alkohol und einer organischen Säure in einer Menge von
0,3 bis 2 Gewichtsprozent und vorzugsweise von 0,4 bis 1 Gewichtsprozent, berechnet auf das
Gesamtgemisch, vorliegt.
5. Ausführungsform der Erfindung nach Anspruch 1 bis 4, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sich
der Teilester aus einem mehrwertigen Alkohol und einer organischen Säure von einem wasserlöslichen
Alkanpo'lyol ableitet, welches vorzugsweise 2 bis 6 Kohlenstoffatome im Molekül enthält.
6. Ausführungsform der Erfindung nach Anspruch 1 bis 5, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß sich
der Teilester von einer aliphatischen Monocarbonsäure ableitet, die vorzugsweise eine Fettsäure mit
8 bis 32 Kohlenstoffatomen im Molekül ist.
7. Ausführungsform der Erfindung nach Anspruch 1 bis 6, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die
wäßrige Phase der Emulsion 20 bis 45 Gewichtsprozent und die ölphase 55 bis 80 Gewichtsprozent
der Zusammensetzung ausmachen.
8. Ausführungsform der Erfindung nach Anspruch 1 bis 7, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die
Ölphase der Emulsion aus einem Schmieröl besteht.
