Description
1.発明の背景
本発明は、金属成形プロセスに使用される潤滑剤、特にハイドロフォーミング・プロセスに使用される潤滑剤に関する。
機械加工を受ける金属部品は装置の磨耗を減らすために潤滑を必要とする。これらの金属加工の例として曲げ加工、スエージ加工、タッピング加工、延伸加工、ハイドロフォーミング等が挙げられる。比較的複雑な部品を製造する際にはハイドロフォーミングは特に重要なプロセスである。管材のハイドロフォーミングでは、被加工物は工具の凹部に設置され、同凹部形状は同部品の外部形状に対応している。同凹部はプレス機のラムの動きによって密閉され、それと同時に水性流体が管材の両端から軸に沿って流れるように圧入される。同管材は内部圧力が上昇するに従い内部凹部を満たすように膨張して望ましい形状の部品となる。同プロセスの通常型の延伸プロセスに対する利点はより大形の部品を成形できる点であり、これが全部品点数および溶接部数の削減、それによる全部品重量の低下につながる。
本発明は、ハイドロフォーミング・プロセスに使用される潤滑剤に関し、特にこれらの潤滑剤を添加剤(特に過塩基化されたスルホン酸塩のような過塩基化清浄剤と摩擦調整剤の組み合わせ)によって改善することを目的とする。
本発明の過塩基化清浄剤は好ましくはアルカリ土類金属のスルホン酸塩であり、より好ましくは過塩基化スルホン酸カルシウム、過塩基化スルホン酸マグネシウム、過塩基化スルホン酸バリウム、あるいはこれらの2種以上の混合物である。

ねじり圧縮(遷移領域)試験:ねじり圧縮装置では、D2鋼製の環状供試材を潤滑剤が塗られた(9,978±78mg/ft2、潤滑剤層があふれる状態)平板状冷延鋼(CRS)供試材に対して回転させた。同試験は、5000±250psiの界面圧力、8.9rpmの回転速度で実施した。試料は最大で1000秒間あるいは潤滑剤層が破損するまで試験された。潤滑剤層の破損は、摩擦係数(COF)が0.20あるいは0.30に達するまでに要する時間として定義される。各々の試験では4個の供試材を試験した。ハイドロフォーミングに適用される場合、破損するまでの時間が長ければ長いほど同潤滑剤は遷移領域(案内領域と膨張領域の間の領域)で高い性能を発揮する。
Claims (3)
- 少なくとも1種の過塩基化スルホン酸マグネシウムを、金属ハイドロフォーミング・プロセスに使用される潤滑剤に添加することによりハイドロフォーミング・プロセスに供する金属製の管材あるいはシート材の潤滑剤層の破損及び破裂圧力について同潤滑剤を改善する方法。
- 少なくとも1種の過塩基化スルホン酸マグネシウムを含有する、ハイドロフォーミング・プロセスに使用される潤滑剤。
- 少なくとも1種の過塩基化スルホン酸マグネシウムを含有する潤滑剤を使用することを包含する、金属製の管材あるいはシート材をハイドロフォーミングする方法。
