Abstract

The present invention relates to a tear fiber for packaging with markings.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

It is known that products are provided with packaging, for example of foil. To open these packages, fibers, ribbons or strings are deposited on or around one side of the wrapping material. To mark the originality, these so-called tear fibers are mostly made in a different color, have a noticeable material thickness and have a sharp, recognizable edge. One end of the tear fibers is either a free protruding tongue or can be conveniently gripped by the consumer at least due to its higher stiffness. The design of this tongue, i.e. its shape, length and width, is also used for marking purposes. The start of the tearing device so formed is usually cut to allow targeted tearing with little force. When the tab is pulled in the tear direction, the tear fiber ruptures the packaging film and splits it so that the product can be removed.

Also known are packagings, mostly cardboard or thicker plastics packagings, which are provided with defined parallel perforations and are also provided with a tongue at the end. These packages usually do not need any additional reinforcements in the opening region.

A self-adhesive label is also known from WO 97/01495,

Although inexpensive products usually save these costs and the tear fiber is often made of the same material as the wrapper, it is now increasingly recognized that the originality elements used so far are not sufficient to protect the original effectively. In addition, this method of opening packages is used by so many manufacturers and for so many products, even products of the same kind, that it is not possible to distinguish between the package and the tear mechanism from product to product and brand to brand. In most cases, torn and thus destroyed packages are indistinguishable to the consumer's eye. Of course, this drawback also makes it easier for imitators and counterfeiters to manufacture such packages and thus also to package counterfeit products.

In order to prevent counterfeiting, in particular of branded products, and to avoid the extremely high material damage incurred by the original manufacturer, it is an object of the invention to provide a package with its tearing mechanism so that the possibility of closing or opening is characteristic of the company and also shows its originality. For consumers, a sign of originality must be apparent when the package is opened. It is a further object of the invention to provide a tear fiber and tear mechanism such that the originality check is only possible with the aid of an appropriate inspection device prior to opening the package. The user or consumer cannot check the originality.

3 Summary of the Invention

The problem is solved and the drawbacks of the known solutions of this kind largely eliminate the tear fiber for the packaging with the marking features according to the invention, which is characterized in that the tear fiber is provided as coding with one or more perforation holes. These perforation holes are preferably formed by punched holes and have an elongation in the punching direction.

The perforation holes are preferably arranged in the shape of a brand or company logo and the tear fiber is additionally curved in the region of the perforation holes.

The tear fibers 1 are, in particular in the case of cigarette packs, in the form of strips or fibers of ploc thicker than the wrapping foil 2. If, for example, serial, quarterly or yearly coding is determined by the manufacturer on the basis of radii, waves or thread, this can undoubtedly also be indicated on the packaging or by means of perforation holes 5 to also allow the consumer to distinguish between the original and the counterfeit. Of course, such consumer information can also be omitted, so that only the manufacturer or the competent control authorities know the coding. The manufacturer may have his products tested both domestically and abroad. In this way, effective anti-counterfeiting protection is achieved according to the invention.
