Abstract
Αποκαλύπτονται πεπτίδια τα οποία έχουν τέσσερα έως δεκατέσσερα υπόλοιπα, τα οποία έχουν βιολογική δραστικότητα. Τα πεπτίδια αυτά αποτελούνται από κοντά θραύσματα του πεπτιδίου ΗΒ-107 (SEQ ID ΝΟ:1), το οποίο το ίδιο αποτελεί ένα θραύσμα της αντιμικροβιακής πρωτεΐνης κεκροπίνης Β και διαθέτει διεγερτικές, μεταναστευτικές και αντιφλεγμονώδεις κυτταρικές ιδιότητες. Επειδή τα κερατινοκύτταρα είναι ιδιαίτερα ευαίσθητα εις αυτά τα αποτελέσματα, τα αποκαλυπτόμενα πεπτίδια περιλαμβάνουν έναν χρήσιμο παράγοντα για την ιατρική θεραπευτική αγωγή τραυμάτων του δέρματος, όπως από διαβητικά έλκη. Τα πεπτίδια είναι επίσης αποτελεσματικά εις την πρόληψη και την αντιστροφή της καταστροφής της επιφάνειας του δέρματος, η οποία προέρχεται από διάφορες περιβαλλοντικές προσβολές. Είναι σημαντικό ότι τα θεραπευτικά αποτελέσματα των πεπτιδίων παρουσιάζονται σε συγκεντρώσεις ίσες ή μεγαλύτερες από αυτές του πεπτιδίου ΗΒ-107 και τοιουτοτρόπως αποτελούν ένα λιγότερο ακριβό, πλέον ευπροσάρμοστο μέσο για την ανάπτυξη αποτελεσματικών θεραπειών.
