Abstract

1.- Un método para reparar tejido, que comprende: inactivar mitóticamente y/o letalmente células troncales; y trasplantar las células troncales inactivadas mitóticamente y/o letalmente inactivadas en el tejido. 2.- El método de la reivindicación 1 en donde las células troncales son células troncales pluripotentes. 3.- El método de la reivindicación 2 en donde las células troncales pluripotentes se aíslan de embriones, placenta, o líquido amniótico: o se generan de cualquier estirpe de células o tejido. 4.- El método de la reivindicación 1 en donde las células troncales se inactivan usando un método efectivo para inhibir la proliferación ilimitada de células troncales embrionarias. 5.- El método de la reivindicación 2 en donde las células troncales se inactivan con irradiación o mitomicina C, fototerapia, o cualquier agente que inhiba la proliferación celular. 6.- El método de la reivindicación 1 en donde el tejido que se está reparando se selecciona del grupo conformado por tejido cardiaco, tejido nervioso, tejido muscular, tejido pancreático, tejido epitelial, tejido hematopoyético, tejido hepático, o cualquier tejido u árgano en el cuerpo.7.- El método de la reivindicación 1 en donde las células troncales inactivadas mitóticamente y/o letalmente inactivadas no forman teratomas.8.- Un método de inactivar mitóticamente y/o letalmente células troncales, que comprende: proveer células troncales pluripotentes; e inactivar las células troncales pluripotentes con un método efectivo para inhibir la proliferación limitada de las células troncales pluripotentes y efectivo para inactivar células troncales adultas, tales como sangre del cordón umbilical, para impedir su crecimiento o persistencia en el receptor.
