Abstract
La presente invención comprende una suspensión noacuosa,térmicamente estable, de un agente sólido reductor de fricción de poliolefina soluble en hidrocarburos formados a partir de olefinas que contienen desde 2 hasta 30 átomos de carbono y que es capaz de reducir la resistencia al avance en hidrocarburos que circulan a través de conductos. La invención se relaciona también con un método para formar dicha suspensión el cual comprende (a) dividir finamente el agente reductor de fricción de poliolefina en presencia de un agente de partición para proveer un material de polialfaolefina de flujo libre recubierto con dicho agente de partición, y (b) dispersar las partículas de polialfaolefina recubiertas en un medio de suspensión sustancialmente no acuoso seleccionado entre el grupo formado por alcoholes que contienen 14 o menos átomos de carbono y glicoles que contienen 14 o menos átomos de carbono y éter metílico y dipropilen glicol, éter metílico de tripropilen glicol, éter metílico de tetrapropilen glicol, o éteres etílicos de naturaleza similar, en donde el agente de partición es una cera de ácido graso. Se pueden utilizar mezclas de éteres de glicol como agentes de suspensión.
