Abstract
"PROCESSO PARA PRODUZIR UMA COMPOSIçãO DESESPUMANTE CONTENDO PARTìCULAS DE SìLICA HIDROFóBICAS, E, COMPOSIçãO DESESPUMANTE". A sílica é tornada hidrofóbica por um processo in situ, livre de catalisador, que inclui contactar com um agente hidrofobizante sob vácuo, em elevada temperatura, por um tempo suficiente para substituir água adsorvida na silica com o agente hidrofobizante. A dispersão resultante da sílica hidrofóbica em um meio de veículo inerte, liquido e hidrofóbico é então submetida a elevadas forças de cisalhamento por um tempo suficiente para produzir uma dispersão homogênea de partículas de sílica hidrofóbicas em uma composição desespumante.
