Abstract
RESUMEN Un objeto de la presente invención es proporcionar un método para producir una flavona en la que un grupo malonilo se agrega a una glucosa en la posición 7 utilizando un polinucleótido que codifica una proteína que tiene actividad que transfiere un grupo malonilo a la posición 6 de la glucosa en la posición 7 de la flavona 7-glucósido, y crea una variedad vegetal que tiene un color de flor modificado, y preferiblemente un color de flor que es más azul que el de las variedades existentes, al contener como copigmento una flavona en la que se ha agregado un grupo malonilo a la glucosa en la posición 7. Se utiliza un polinucleótido que se selecciona del grupo que consiste en, por ejemplo: (a) un polinucleótido compuesto por la secuencia de bases de SEQ ID NO: 1; (b) un polinucleótido que se hibrida en condiciones rigurosas con un polinucleótido que consiste en la secuencia de bases complementaria a la secuencia de bases de SEQ ID NO: 1 y codifica una proteína que tiene actividad que transfiere un grupo malonilo a la posición 6 de la glucosa en la posición 7 de la flavona 7-glucósido; (c) un polinucleótido que codifica una proteína que consiste en la secuencia de aminoácidos de SEQ ID NO: 2; y, (d) un polinucleótido que codifica una proteína que consiste en una secuencia de aminoácidos en la que uno o pocos aminoácidos han sido eliminados, sustituidos, insertados y/o agregados en la secuencia de aminoácidos de la SEQ ID NO: 2 y tiene actividad que transfiere un grupo malonilo a la posición 6 de la glucosa en la posición 7 de la flavona 7-glucósido.
