Abstract

La presente se refiere a una secuencia de nucleótidos y a un método para controlar invasiones de insectos, la secuencia de polinucleótidos aislada comprende: (a) una secuencia de polinucleótidos como se muestra en la SEQ ID Nº 1, 2 ó 3; o (b) una secuencia de polinucleótidos que es hibridada con la secuencia de polinucleótidos definida en (a) bajo condiciones rigurosas; o (c) una secuencia de polinucleótidos que tiene no menos de 80% de identidad con respecto a la secuencia de polinucleótidos definida en (a); o (d) una secuencia de polinucleótidos de al menos 19 nucleótidos consecutivos de la secuencia de polinucleótidos definida en (a), en donde una plaga de insectos hemípteros ingiere un ARN de doble hebra que comprende al menos una hebra complementaria de la secuencia de polinucleótidos, y se inhibe el crecimiento de la plaga de insectos hemípteros; o (e) una secuencia complementaria de la secuencia de polinucleótidos como se definió en los puntos (a), (b), (c) o (d) arriba mencionados. La presente divulga, tres secuencias blanco para controlar una plaga de insectos hemípteros, Lygus, con las ventajas de eficiencia, especificidad, conveniencia y bajo costo.
