Abstract
La solicitud se refiere a la identificación y evaluación de secuencias objeto codificantes y no codificantes para el control de nematodos parásitos de plantas inhibiendo una o varias funciones biológicas, y a su uso. La solicitud proporciona métodos y composiciones para identificación de tales secuencias y para el control de una población de nematodos parásitos de plantas. Al alimentar una o varias moléculas de ARN bicatenario recombinante proporcionadas por la presente al nematodo, se puede obtener una reducción de la enfermedad por medio de la supresión de la expresión génica de los nematodos. La solicitud también se refiere a métodos para producir plantas transgénicas que expresan las moléculas de ARN bicatenario, y las células de plantas y plantas así obtenidas. Reivindicación 1: Un polinucleótido aislado seleccionado del grupo que consiste en: (a) un fragmento de al menos 19 nucleótidos contiguos de una secuencia de ácidos nucleicos de cualquiera de: SEQ ID Nº 1 - 3, en donde el contacto con un nematodo fitoparásito de una secuencia de ribonucleótidos bicatenarios que comprenden al menos una cadena que es complementaria a dicho fragmento inhibe el crecimiento de dicho nematodo; y (b) un complemento de la secuencia (a).
