背景技术
饮料例如茶和咖啡,通过浸泡和/或调制来从叶子或粉末中抽取香味是常见和普遍的。有许多不同的系统和许多技术用于调制、制造出质地和香味不同的产品。许多这些系统(例如真空咖啡制造机)在调制过程中采用抽吸方式。
在真空咖啡制造机中,一般有两个容器,一个在另一个之上,管道从上部容器的底部向下延伸到下部容器。一过滤器放置在管道的顶部,干的咖啡粉末放置在过滤器上。下部容器充满水,两个容器装配在一起并形成密封。
一加热元件,它或者与下部容器一体化形成,或者放置在下部容器之下,用来加热下部容器中的水。随着水的沸腾和膨胀,推动水和水蒸汽(蒸汽)沿管道向上,通过过滤器,进入上部容器,与咖啡粉末混和。当下部容器中的水几乎完全蒸发时,切断加热元件,或者减小加热元件的电流,使下部容器中的温度冷却和压力下降,产生吸力并吸引水通过过滤器和进入下部容器。移走上部容器,咖啡就从下部容器中供应。
依靠抽吸的调制系统有许多优点。采用真空咖啡机调制的咖啡常常被认为是醇厚的,没有重的沉淀物。水可涌入下部容器而不会涌入上部容器。但是也有缺点。例如,尤其是当下部容器中只剩下少量水时,由于加热器表面形成有蒸汽泡,沿管道向上的水流会变得不稳定。这会导致间歇加压的水流通过管道向上,特别是朝向加热环的端部。此外,真空咖啡机不能用于紧凑的垂直空间。为了把下部容器移走使用,真空咖啡机必须拆卸。为了移走下部容器,管道必须从下部容器上分离。要把管道从下部容器分离,上下腔室之间的密封必须破坏,而且上部腔室从过滤器和管道上垂直分离。

具体实施方式
图1-5表示根据本发明的调制饮料系统的一个实施例。如图1所示,当装配好用来调制时,咖啡机10包括设置成一个在另一个顶上的两个腔室:下部腔室(或玻璃瓶)(carafe)12,和上部腔室(或调制室)14。玻璃瓶12和调制室14一起操作来加热水并调制咖啡。
玻璃瓶12是用来加热水同时存储已调制的咖啡的容器。玻璃瓶12具有由基本圆柱形侧壁18构成的存储区域,一顶部20,和一底面22。在另一实施例中,玻璃瓶12形状基本上为球形。在又一实施例中,玻璃瓶12可以是泪珠状。本领域普通技术人员可采用各种不同的形状来构造玻璃瓶12。侧壁18可由单层玻璃或不锈钢、双层真空玻璃或不锈钢、高密度聚乙烯、或一种具有类似绝缘特性的材料所制成。玻璃瓶20的顶部包括一涌喷口30,和具有一开口26的调制浓度调节器28。一手柄24从顶部20向外延伸,在玻璃瓶12中装有热咖啡时,使用户可以传送玻璃瓶12而不接触到瓶壁18或基座42。
一竖管32设置在玻璃瓶12中。竖管32安装到玻璃瓶12的调制浓度调节器28的一螺纹配件上。在第一方向旋转调制浓度调节器28,可在玻璃瓶12中略微地升高竖管32。在与第一方向相反的方向上旋转调制浓度调节器28,可在玻璃瓶12中略微地降低竖管32。该竖管32是具有一顶端34和底端36的管子。竖管32可以是圆形横截面,也可以是椭圆形或多边形横截面。竖管32为热水和蒸汽提供了一条向上进入调制室14的通道,也为调制好的咖啡提供了一条向下进入玻璃瓶12的通道。
在竖管32上,一通气孔40设置在填充线(未示出)以上、玻璃瓶的顶部以下。该通气孔40释放由于加热水接着加热水上的空气而产生的空气压力累积。加热固定容积中的空气使空气压力在玻璃瓶12中升高。通气孔40使许多增压的顶部空间气体(通常为空气,在沸腾之前)通过竖管32上逸出,排出到大气中,或者环绕调制室14并进入粉末(grounds)中。
在一般的真空咖啡机中,轻微的压力上升就会使玻璃瓶12中一些未充分加热的水受迫沿竖管32向上并进入粉末中。粉末与不够温度的水的这种“溢流”会阻碍完全沉浸调制步骤(见以下内容)的精确定时。它还会降低水与粉末接触的平均时间温度。
玻璃瓶12具有接近调制浓度调节器28的开口26和涌喷口30的密封面。如图5和7所示,当玻璃瓶12完全插入外壳16时,调制浓度调节器28通过设置在调制室14底部的O形圈29形成密封。涌喷口30通过调制室14的与涌喷口30斜坡基本平行的表面31形成邻接密封。在另一实施例中,涌喷口30具有一端盖或可伸缩盖或类似的密封装置。连接玻璃瓶12内部和调制室14的唯一通道是穿过竖管32的。
玻璃瓶12的基座42还包含一整体式加热器44。该加热器44对玻璃瓶12中的水进行电加热并煮沸,同时当调制好的咖啡回到玻璃瓶12时保持其温度。当玻璃瓶12滑入主外壳16中时,加热器44形成电连接。可以采用类似于无绳熨斗所用的“对接”型电连接器46。在其他实施例中,玻璃瓶12可用电线插入电插座中。在还有一些实施例中,加热器44可用电池做能源,以便于携带。本领域普通技术人员可采用不同的方法来启动加热器。
玻璃瓶12的基座42可从玻璃瓶12的主体上脱离。这样可以对损坏的主体进行经济地替换,而不必再更换基座42。例如,如果玻璃壁18破坏了,基座42可从玻璃瓶12上移走。用户可购买新的不带基座42的玻璃瓶12,再把原来的基座42连接到新的玻璃瓶12上。
在调制过程中所有进入玻璃瓶12和从玻璃瓶12出来的流体必须通过竖管32流动。调制室14把竖管流动通道分成两部分:“填充和调制”通道以及“吸出”(或输出)通道。“填充和调制”通道在过滤器48周围和上面通过,引导沸腾的水和蒸汽进入过滤器48内的粉末中。“吸出”通道从调制室14底部的过滤器48正下方延伸到竖管32。各流动通道都包含止回阀,按顺序根据玻璃瓶12内的压力是正或负(局部真空)来产生正确的流动方向。
“填充和调制”通道包含一第一流动管50,一柔性连接器52,以及一第二流动管54。第一流动管50包括一设置在第一流动管50端部的止回阀56。“填充和调制”通道中的止回阀56定向为使沸腾的水和蒸汽从玻璃瓶12移动,沿竖管32向上,围绕过滤器48,并向下进入粉末堆。如图5所示,止回阀56可以是孔59内的滚珠58,在孔的各端具有一开口61a和61b。各开口61a和61b的直径小于滚珠58的直径,使滚珠58只能在孔59内运动。止回阀的定向防止了在玻璃瓶12中由于沸腾停止而形成局部真空时,过滤器中的物质被吸出。大多数系统中,在玻璃瓶12沸腾所产生的流速下,止回阀56具有一向前的、小于两英寸水柱的向前的压降。
在调制周期的“回吸”阶段,由止回阀56产生的反向流动阻力防止了过滤器内部的物质被吸出玻璃瓶12,从而防止了粉末和沉淀物被吸入玻璃瓶12。要实现这一功能,当滚珠58处于其最下端位置(见图5)时,滚珠58与开口61a形成了密封。该密封阻止了包含咖啡粉末的水或蒸汽流回玻璃瓶12。为了使蒸汽流稳定地进入调制室14的粉末/水混合物中,防止乱涌或爆裂,止回阀56还具有一微小的滞后作用。
“吸出”(或输出)通道中的止回阀60定向为,通过沸腾停止时形成的局部真空,使过滤后的咖啡从调制室14向下吸入玻璃瓶12。当玻璃瓶12中形成的局部真空增大时,止回阀60打开,使制成的咖啡通过竖管高速流入玻璃瓶12。在调制室填充过程中,该止回阀的定向防止了沸腾的水或蒸汽从玻璃瓶12向上朝过滤器48的底部运动。在这一方向上运动的沸腾的水或蒸汽不能完全地与咖啡粉末混合,并能翻倒或损坏过滤器48,使其中的物质溅出,从而导致玻璃瓶12受污染。在大多数系统中,阀60上的最大反压小于十英寸水柱。
止回阀56和60可以是标准单向阀,其在单向上提供低流阻并防止反向流动。这种阀只允许流体在一个方向上流过一管道或导管。止回阀是普通的、简单的、低成本的,且在各种不同型号、尺寸或材料上都可得到。例如,在其他实施例中,第一流动管50可包括一斜板止回阀。在另外一些实施例中,第一流动管50可包括一瓣阀。
当玻璃瓶12中的水达到完全沸腾,由完全沸腾产生的蒸汽体积“淹没”了竖管通气孔40;也就是说,通气孔40不能再防止玻璃瓶12顶部空间的压力上升。迫使来自玻璃瓶12的热水沿竖管32向上,穿过第一和第二流动管50和54,并向下通过喷嘴62进入过滤器48的咖啡粉末中间。随着玻璃瓶12中沸腾水位下降到竖管32的下端36以下,大容量的蒸汽开始通过竖管32目前打开的底端36向上逸出,穿过环绕过滤器的通道,并通过喷嘴62释放进入沸腾的水与粉末的混合物中。蒸汽通过混合物起泡,防止混合物冷却并搅动混合物,实现理想的完全沉浸调制。
该“受压蒸汽”加热和混合的过程一直持续到玻璃瓶12中基本上不再有水留下。该混合过程的时间长度依赖于在竖管32下端36“端口未开(unporting)”时,玻璃瓶12中剩下的水的容量。通过旋转调制浓度调节器28,调节竖管32的下端36在玻璃瓶12底部(即加热器44)上方的高度,就可调整混合时间。
通常上部调制室包含竖管。当调制室装配到沸腾室/玻璃瓶的顶部时,竖管必须向下插入玻璃瓶的颈部。这需要调制室与玻璃瓶垂直分离一等于突出的竖管长度的量。由于消费者空间的需求,调制室需要进行最小的垂直移动。通过制作玻璃瓶12的竖管32部分,调制室14就没有任何部分突入玻璃瓶12中了。调制室14相对于玻璃瓶12只需要几毫米的垂直移动来进行密封操作。在锁住/松开过程中,为进行密封操作,调制室14只需相对于玻璃瓶12向上和向下移动几毫米。外壳16包括一插销70,其可转动地把真空咖啡机10置于锁定的“调制”位置(如图1所示)或一未锁定位置(如图2所示),这样玻璃瓶12可滑入外壳16中或滑出外壳16。当玻璃瓶12滑入外壳16中时,配合面、或O形环29未压紧到调制浓度调节器28上,并且不形成密封。通过转动插销70到“调制”位置,调制室14将向玻璃瓶12移动,这样O形环29压紧并形成与调制浓度调节器28的密封。
调制室14微小的垂直移动使得调制室14和玻璃瓶12通过玻璃瓶12在调制室14下方的水平滑动而连接起来。玻璃瓶12水平或大致水平的滑动为用户提供了更方便的操作系统。图2表示了设置在外壳16基座19中的两个水平槽17,用来使玻璃瓶12的密封件和调制室14对准定位。玻璃瓶12的基座42具有两个互补突起,它们在槽17内配合并滑动。在其他实施例中,玻璃瓶12和调制室14可采用设置在玻璃瓶12上表面和调制室14下表面的轨道或槽进行对准定位。本领域普通技术人员可采用不同的构造来使两个腔室对准。
喷嘴62的末端63包含一组开口65,这些开口的尺寸和形状适于把水和蒸汽释放到粉末和水的混合物中。粉末有溅出和溢出过滤器48的危险。为了避免这一危险,喷嘴62中的开口65要足够大,以防止会在混合物中产生泡沫的小泡泡,但又要足够小,以便用作扩散器,防止大泡泡的形成,大泡泡的形成会在混合物表面形成乱溅和爆裂。
双向流动通道系统使得完全包含粉末的过滤器48得以使用,为便于使用后易于处理,这种类型的过滤器称为“篮式过滤器”。其它真空型咖啡调制器的单向流动通道不能使用传统的篮式过滤器,因为沸腾的水不能沿单向流动通道向上被推动穿过纸式过滤器的底部。沸腾的水必须被引导穿过围绕过滤器48的流动通道,并从其上方释放到过滤器48中。然而,要防止咖啡粉末污染,围绕过滤器48(通过第一和第二流动管50和54)的流动通道不能用于把咖啡吸出到玻璃瓶12中;因此,需要“吸出”流动通道来把咖啡经过过滤器、吸入到玻璃瓶12中。
在一个实施例中,调制室的盖71包括安装在盖71下侧的突舌或指爪,在盖71关闭时用来固定过滤器48的上缘,从而使过滤器48在整个调制过程中保持在其“网”状。这避免了粉末的溢出,该粉末可能会污染咖啡成品。
当插销密封装置不起作用时,玻璃瓶12从上部腔室14上松开。于是玻璃瓶12可水平向外滑动,用作饮料罐。玻璃瓶的水平滑动运动为用户提供了方便、直观的系统操作。
操作
在把咖啡粉末放入过滤器48中以后,向玻璃瓶12灌注水到预期的水位,并把玻璃瓶12放回到外壳16中,用户把加热器44转到“全热”位置。水开始加热,玻璃瓶12中的水上方的顶部空间的空气压力开始升高。随着液态水温度的上升,顶部空间中蒸汽的部分压力升高。通气孔40用作出口,以减少空气和蒸汽压力的这种缓慢的、早期的累积。玻璃瓶12中的水开始沸腾。
由完全沸腾所产生的蒸汽量不能通过竖管32中的通气孔40足够快地排出,玻璃瓶12中的压力就开始迅速上升。迅速上升的压力迫使沸腾的水沿竖管32上升。水流过进气管中的“填充和调制”止回阀56,向上绕过滤器经过第二流动管54,再向下通过喷嘴62进入过滤器中的粉末中。涌出喷嘴62的水正好低于沸点。
随着玻璃瓶12中的水位下降到竖管32的下端36,大量蒸汽开始沿竖管32向上逸出。蒸汽经过围绕过滤器的通道(第一和第二流动管50和54),并通过喷嘴62释放到沸腾水和粉末的混合物中。蒸汽向上通过水和粉末的完全浸泡混合物起泡,搅动混合物并防止混合物冷却。该“受压蒸汽”加热和混合过程一直持续到玻璃瓶12中只剩下很少的水或没有水。混合过程的时间长度依赖于在竖管32下端36“端口未开”时,玻璃瓶12中剩下的水的容量。通过旋转调制浓度调节器28,调节竖管32的下端36在玻璃瓶12底部上方的高度,就可调整混合时间。当沸腾水的水位最终下降到某一点以下,一些或全部传热面露出时,在加热元件或热连接到加热器44的传热面的一些其他部分中检测温度的上升。关闭加热器44,或减小加热器44的电流,沸腾就停止了。
此时玻璃瓶12中只剩下很少或没有空气了。玻璃瓶12中充满了蒸汽。当沸腾停止,蒸汽冷凝到其气体体积的几分之一,并在玻璃瓶12中形成了强大的局部真空。局部真空有力地拉动上部腔室14中调制的咖啡经过过滤器、向下穿过流出止回阀60并进入玻璃瓶12。粉末留在篮式过滤器中。最后,用户可松开插销密封装置,把玻璃瓶12从上部腔室14上松开。至此,玻璃瓶12可滑出用作饮料罐。
在其它实施例中,这里描述的调制系统可用作调制茶、或其它调制的饮料。本发明不应当只限制于调制咖啡。

Claims (27)

1.一种两室调制系统,包括:
一第一室,适用于装有一过滤器并能够接收和排出流体;以及
一第二室,能够在第一室和第二室之间产生压差,第二室具有一加热的基座和一竖管,以使流体在第一室和第二室之间流动。
2.如权利要求1的两室调制系统,其中竖管可调整地与第二室连接,使得在竖管底端和基座之间的垂直空间可增大或缩小。
3.如权利要求1的两室调制系统,其中第一室能够从设置在过滤器底部上方的输入管接收流体,并通过设置在过滤器下方的输出管排出流体。
