背景技术
诸如呼吸面罩之类的装置和其它设计为供使用者佩戴的物品通常需要依靠有弹性的带子来将装置定位在使用者身上。对于用来过滤使用者所呼吸的空气的呼吸面罩,人们希望呼吸面罩和佩戴者的脸之间具有不漏气或者基本不漏气的密闭性。对于那些使用弹性带子的装置,这些带子可能是有弹性的棉织带、橡胶带(例如:天然橡胶或者聚异戊二烯)可挤压的热塑性弹性体材料(例如:KRATON,可从Shell Oil公司购得)。
根据带子的结构不同,将带子连接到呼吸面罩上的方法也各不相同。举个例子来说,编织带可以用传统的金属钉钉到呼吸面罩上,缝合在呼吸面罩上,或者插入到呼吸面罩上的扣中。带子也可以直接焊接到呼吸面罩上去。在这样的例子里,通常带子是用热塑性弹性体制成的。尽管钉子连接和焊接在工艺中是十分常见的,但是它们两种技术都有多种的缺点。
用机械的方法将弹性带子钉到一个呼吸面罩或其它柔性的基底上是一个复杂的操作,需要切割、成形、推进以及打弯一个钉子,同时还要精确地将带子夹持和定位到呼吸面罩上。在连续作业的机器上用机械的方法打钉要求被钉的呼吸面罩停下来,这样就会造成生产量的降低。订钉机与流水线的速度匹配并和呼吸面罩一起移动(相对于呼吸面罩的相对速度为零)也是可以的。但是由于订钉机的质量和尺寸,移动订钉机就使设备的设计和保养方面出现了很大的问题。
另一个使用机械的方法大钉的缺点是根据基底的厚度需要不同的钉脚长,对于较厚的基底就需要有较长钉脚的用机械方法钉的钉,而较薄的基底则需要有较短钉脚的用机械方法钉的钉。
使用机械方法订钉还可能发生另一个问题,当使用钉子直接将带子连接到呼吸面罩的圆拱罩上,呼吸面罩的过滤介质通常被钉子刺穿。钉脚刺入基底的穿透处是可能的泄漏的途径,会成为一些制造者和使用者关注的原因。
直接将带子焊接到呼吸面罩上去的问题有:(1)带子与呼吸面罩的连接不协调;和(2)带子与呼吸面罩之间的结合失败。此外,将带子直接焊接到呼吸面罩上去还限制了带子的材料只能选用热塑性弹性体材料,而这些材料缺少某些特性,例如,与其他诸如聚异戊二烯材料相比,就缺少了耐热性。
发明内容
本发明包括:(1)一个固定组件,包括一个压件、一个柔性基底以及一个在压件和基底之间受压的物品;(2)压件能够把物品连接到柔性基底上;以及(3)一种制作组件的方法,该组件中包括一个通过压件固定在柔性基底上的物品。本发明的固定组件、压件和方法可以替代传统的固定装置,如使用机械方法订的钉子。这固定组件、压件和方法在将弹性物品连接到柔性基底表面并且不刺穿它时尤其有用。一个将弹性物品连接柔性基底表面的例子就是将弹性带子固定到呼吸面罩上。
本发明的压件可以可靠地把一个物品固定在一个柔性基底的表面。在把压件连接到基底上时其之后,柔性基底在压件后面要被绷紧已经是定论了。物品在压件和绷紧的基底之间受压。但是需要提一下的是,本发明并不局限于这个定论,它只是为可能加深对本发明的理解才被提出来的。
一个方面,本发明提供了一种固定组件,其包括一个有第一和第二主表面的柔性基底,以及一个位于基底第一主表面的压件。该压件在其正面上有一个夹固区域以及第一和第二结合区域。结合区域位于夹固区域的相对侧,并与基底的第一主表面结合。这个组件还包括至少一个的位于基底的第一主表面和压件的夹固区域之间的物品,其中物品在柔性基底和夹固区域之间受压。
第二个方面,本发明的压件的本体有一个正面、一个背面和一个位于本体正面的夹固区域。压件还包括第一和第二结合区域,它们位于压件正面上夹固区域的两侧,并且每个结合区域至少有一个能量导向筋。压件在其本体正面上还有第一和第二槽沟,第一槽沟位于第一结合区域和夹固区域之间,第二槽沟位于第二结合区域和夹固区域之间。
第三个方面,本发明提供了一种制作这样一种组件的方法,该组件中包括了一个固定在柔性基底上的物品。这个方法包括提供一个压件,它的本体有一个正面和一个背面。压件在其本体正面还包括一个夹固区域以及第一和第二结合区域。第一和第二结合区域位于夹固区域的第一和第二侧。这个方法还包括将一个物品置于柔性基底的表面,其后将压件的夹固区域置于物品上,同时第一和第二结合区域放在物品的相对侧。然后,在结合区域与柔性基底相连接的同时,物品就在压件的夹固区域和柔性基底之间受压。结果就是压件在第一和第二结合区域与柔性基底连接,并且物品就被固定在夹固区域和柔性基底之间。
本发明的上述的和其它的特征及优点会在下面结合本发明的实施例和本发明的方法给予更完整的阐述。
术语表
与本发明有关,下列专业术语的定义如下所列:
“粘结连接”指的是用粘结剂将两个物品连接起来;
“结合”和它的变化形式指的是用合适的技术连接,包括但不局限于这些方法:焊接(超声波方法、化学方法等)、粘结剂连接以及机械的互锁;
“结合区域”指的是压件上一个可以与柔性基底结合的区域;
“夹固区域”指的是压件上的一个可以贴着柔性基底夹固物品的区域;
“压缩”和它的变化形式指的是通过加压,使一物品从未压缩的状态或形状发生变形;
“压件”指的是一个在所固定的物品的两侧都与柔性基底结合的物品,并且包括至少两个结合区域和一个夹固区域;
“弹性”指的是材料至少在一个尺度上可以拉伸到至少1.2倍的原长,并且必须能够在撤走产生变形的应力后的一分钟内恢复它原来的大小和形状;
“柔性基底”指的是不象连接到其上的压件那样硬或刚的基底(例如,如下面所述的在连接压件过程中在基底里产生的拉应力可以在撤走压力后仍然保持);
“聚合物”包括均聚物、共聚物或聚合物的混合。
“聚合的”指得是包括至少一种聚合物和除聚合物之外其它可能的成分;
“呼吸面罩”指得是一种佩戴在人的呼吸通道上的系统或装置,以阻止污染物进入佩戴者的呼吸道和/或保护其它人员或东西免于暴露在病菌或佩戴者在呼吸时排出的其它污染物,其包括,但不限于,过滤面罩;
“有纹理的表面”指得是不光滑的表面,例如,一种包括有某种结构的表面(诸如脊型、鱼鳞型等);一种加工表面(诸如滚花型等);或固定在表面上的附加部分(诸如散粒等);且
“焊接”指得是用熔化或融合的方法连接两种物品。

具体实施方式
使用根据本发明的压件和方法,可以通过在压件连接到柔性基底表面的同时,施压于压件和基底表面之间的物品来使物品可靠地连接到柔性基底的表面上。尽管不想受理论的约束,但仍进行了理论推导,可得:物品的受压使在压件下的柔性基底变得绷紧或者处于张拉状态。在压件的连接完成之后以及用来对压件和柔性基底之间物品施压的外力被移走之后,柔性基底中拉紧状态或张力仍然保持。
尽管以下对本发明的阐述是关于有弹性的带子连接到呼吸面罩上的,但是本发明的压件和方法也适用于各种必须将物品固定到柔性基底表面上的情况。固定到基底上的物品可以是弹性的、非弹性的,或者可以同时具有弹性和非弹性的成分。柔性基底可以具有一层或者更多层的纤维状聚合材料,这材料可以是编织的也可以是非编织的。而且,这些纤维状的聚合材料也可以是多孔或者非多孔的。这些物品的例子包括:呼吸面罩、面具、外套(如外科手术的长外衣)以及外科用的或者其它的幕帘物等等,但是并不局限于这些。
图1是本发明的压件10一个图示实施例的俯视图。图2是压件10沿图1中的线2-2截开所见的一个侧视图。压件10包括一个夹固区域20,它位于第一结合区域30和第二结合区域40之间。夹固区域20以及第一和第二结合区域30和40都在压件10的正面上。压件10的背面12可以相对光滑,尽管这并不是根据本发明的压件所一定要求的。
图1所示的压件10设计为通过超声波焊接与柔性基底连接。因此,第一和第二结合区域30和40中的每一个分别包括至少一个、最好多个焊接能量导向筋32和42。每一个焊接能量导向筋32和42分别包括一个峰部34和44,峰部最好比能量导向筋的底部要窄一些。夹固区域20最好分别通过槽24和26与第一和第二结合区域30和40分隔开来。
在图示的压件10中,第一和第二结合区域30和40的每一个能量导向筋32和42通常最好与轴线14(见图1)方向一致。这样一来,任何一个能量导向筋32和42都不会排列成它的延长轴线与夹固区域20相交。在有些需要防止焊接能量传递到夹固区域20情况下这一点是重要的,这样的能量传递会使焊接能量传递到固定在柔性基底的带子上。这些能量可能会损坏带子,从而导致它过早的破坏。
图2表示了本发明的另一个可选择的特征,其中压件10的夹固区域高度为hc,即是从压件10背面12到夹固区域20的上表面22的高度。图2中也表示了能量导向筋的高度hd,即是压件10的背面12以上的能量导向筋32的峰部34的高度。在一些实施例中,要求hc比hd大一些,以进一步参与夹紧压件10和柔性基底之间的弹性物品。在另外一些情况,夹固区域的高度he可能与能量导向筋的高度hd相等或者更小一些。压件10的各个不同部分的相对高度一般由使用所选材料的实验来决定。
夹固区域20的表面22一般可以是平滑的或者,在其它的情况,表面22可以通过压花或者其它构造形成纹理,这些结构可以提高其固定住压件10和柔性基底之间的弹性体并防止它被拔出的能力。也可以在表面22的涂覆上粘结剂或其它材料,以提高表面22的固定性能。
图3表示了在本发明的方法中可能会用到的一个压件10的卷50。压件卷50最好是挤压成形,单个的压件10可以根据需要切下或者用另外的方法从压件卷50上分离开来。以卷起来的形式提供压件10是十分有利的,卷中细长的能量导向筋如图1和图2所示地排列。压件10可以沿轴线14(见图1)的方向挤出。所形成的挤压卷的剖面沿图3中的线3-3看去即如图2所示。
以卷起来的形式提供压件10可以方便它们在高速度和/或连续制造过程中的使用,在这些过程中,可以从压件卷50中切下或者以其它方式分离出所需长度的单个的压件10,并按所需与柔性基底固定。某些图示的制造过程如下文所述。
用来制造本发明的可焊接的压件的材料最好要与将压件连接到所给的基底上所使用的焊接工艺相一致。因此,在压件中使用的特别的材料会根据材料本身选择,这些材料应适合于依据焊接能量所要求的形式,以及根据压件焊接于其上的柔性基底所用的材料而定的焊接。例如,在呼吸面罩是采用熔吹聚合微纤维制成的情况下,压件最好用聚异戊二烯制作,尽管在本发明的压件中其它许多材料也可能是有用的。
图4和图5表示的是根据本发明的另一个可供选择的压件110。这个压件110包括一个夹固区域120以及位于夹固区域120相对侧的第一和第二结合区域130和140。夹固区域120由槽沟124和126分别与结合区域130和140分隔开来。槽沟124和126在压件110中是特别有用的,因为除非与夹固区域120分开,能量导向筋132和142的排列会使它们与连接区120相交。这样的排列会导致所不希望的焊接能量传递到压件110的夹固区域中去。那种不希望发生的焊接能量的传递会在所要连接到柔性基底上的物品上留下凹痕。但是在一些应用中,希望焊接能量至少部分地导向到夹固区域120中,在这种情形中就可以不设置槽沟124和126。
在压件110中,可以从图1和图2中的压件10进一步变化的是能量导向筋的断面或形状。图6表示的是一个这样的能量导向筋132的放大的视图,其中能量导向筋132的峰部134以一个比较尖锐的边结束,与图1和图2中连同压件10一起表示的削平或磨圆了的能量导向筋32和42不同。本发明的压件所使用的能量导向筋的特殊截面形式通常是基于所用的特殊材料和其它工艺方面的考虑来选择的。例如,包含纤维聚合的过滤介质的呼吸面罩就可能要求磨圆或者削平的能量导向筋,以减小压件划穿介质的可能性。
本发明压件中的细长的能量导向筋的排列主要取决于用于压件本身的材料、基底的材料和/或弹性物品的材料。例如,对于天然橡胶或聚异戊二烯的呼吸面罩带子,带子的凹痕(它的形成,例如,是由于上面所述的不希望发生的焊接能量传递到压件的夹固区域中的原因)就可能是造成呼吸面罩使用中带子在拉伸时发生过早损坏的一个重要的原因。因此,压件的设计就必须限制或者防止焊接能量传递到弹性带子,以防止不希望发生的焊接能量向夹固区域里的传递。在其它一些情况,可能要求考虑至少有一些焊接能量传递到夹固区域里,这取决于压件、基底和弹性物品所用的材料。
图7表示了另一个压件210,它包括适合于焊接到柔性基底的结合区域230和240。该结合区域230和240包括能量导向筋232和242(分别地),这些能量导向筋不象上面所述的能量导向筋那样是伸长的。由于能量导向筋232和242不是伸长的,就不再需要有凹槽从结合区域230和240将夹固区域220分隔开,以防止焊接能量传递到夹固区域了。
图8表示了一个可选择的压件310,它有两个夹固区域332和324。夹固区域322位于结合区域330和332之间,而夹固区域324则位于结合区域332和334之间。结合区域330、332和334也表现出从上面所述的实施例中产生的另一个变化,它们包括一个有粘性的340部分,用来把每一个结合区域连接到柔性基底上去。
在未图示的另外的变化的例子中,根据本发明可以制造出其它有多于两个夹固区域的压件。但是,在每种情况下,夹固区域最好在相对两侧与结合区域邻接,以跨过夹固区域上绷柔性基底。
图9表示了一个在用于本发明的制作固定组件的方法中的装置。它用一个压件410来将物品460固定在基底470上。基底470从下面由一个基底支座480支承,基底支座480最好至少与用来固定460的压件410一样大。压件410由一个位于其夹固区域420的中心夹紧件484固定在位,而第一和第二结合区域430和440则与基底470相连。
在把结合区域430和440连接到基底470的过程中,最好将结合设备490沿箭头492的方向推向柔性基底470。基底470由基底支座480支承,其也可沿箭头482的方向推进,以在结合的过程中提供一些附加的压力。在进行结合之前,中心夹紧件484应沿箭头486的方向朝向柔性基底470推进,以使物品460在压件410的夹固区域420和柔性基底470之间受压。当物品460受压时,基底470就在结合区域430和440之间被绷紧了。在基底470被绷紧之后,结合区域430和440就能固定到基底470上。
如上面所述,结合区域430和440可以通过焊接、粘结或任何其它合适的技术连接到基底470上。如果使用的是焊接的方法,焊接的能量最好可以超声波能的形式提供,而结合设备490就可以是一个超声波焊接砧角,其上形成有一条槽491,所以超声波能就不会施加到压件410的中心夹固区域420中。但也可以使用其它的焊接技术,如热冲压,来将压件上的结合区域焊接到柔性基底上。
图10表示了一个固定组件,它是根据本发明的一个工艺的结果,其中压件410是焊接或者以其它方式连接定位在柔性基底470上的,以使物品460固定在压件410和基底470之间。压件和本发明的方法的操作已理论化了,是通过在对物品460施加压力的同时,拉伸柔性基底470在压件410下面的部分以使它在结合的过程中绷紧来实现的。因为物品460在焊接的过程中是受压的,绷紧的基底470与略受压的物品460之间的结合和压件410共同工作,使物品460固定在压件410和基底470之间。但是值得一提的是,本发明不应局限于这个理论,这个理论只是为了可能更好地理解本发明而提出的。
尽管没有要求,但是物品460至少包括一些弹性材料可能是有利的,这些弹性材料可以对压件410结合过程中的受压作出变形反应。在一些例子中,物品460最好主要由弹性材料制成。包含弹性材料的一些适合的物品包括:有弹性的棉织带、橡胶带(例如:天然橡胶或者聚异戊二烯)以及热塑性弹性体材料,但并不局限于这些。
图11表示了一个呼吸面罩590,这个呼吸面罩590有直接连接在其罩本体594上的弹性带子592。本发明的压件可以用来实现这种连接方式,而不用在罩本体594上穿孔。
本发明的压件610的另一个用途如图12所示。呼吸面罩690包括带子692,这些带子692是通过焊接的压件610来连接到呼吸面罩690的狗耳部分696上的。如上面所述,结合呼吸面罩使用焊接的压件只是本发明所述的一个应用,而在各种需要将弹性物品固定到柔性基底的应用中都可能找到本发明的用途。
呼吸面罩的本体包括非编织的聚合的过滤介质,它是罩本体一个重要的部分。在另外的一些呼吸面罩中,罩本体的一个重要的部分可能是由基本不透气的材料制成的(例如,见Burn等人的美国专利5,062,421号,其中就描述了一个弹性体橡胶面层)。如图11和图12所示的杯形的呼吸面罩也有介绍,例如,Kronzer等人的美国专利5,307,796号、Dyrud等人的美国专利4,807,619号以及Berg的美国专利4,536,440号。本发明的呼吸面罩也可以有其它的形状,如平的面罩、其它的杯形面罩以及包括过滤组件的面罩。例如,可见美国专利Nos.Re 28,102(Mayhew)、3,971,373(Braun)、4,215,682(Kubik等人)、4,419,993(Peterson)、4,542,420(Krueger等人)、4,729,371(Krueger等人)、4,795,668(Krueger等人)、4,827,924(Japtunich)以及5,908,598(Rousseau等人)。
上面特殊的实施例是作为本发明的实际应用来介绍的。缺少任何没有在本文中特别提及的部件或物项,本发明也可以适用于实践。所有的专利、专利应用以及公告的完全的公布已以本文为参考完全包括进去了,正如单独成文一样。
本发明的各种修改变型和可选择的形式对于那些熟悉本技术的人来说会变得显而易见,这些修改变型和可选择的形式是不超出本发明的范围的。并且应该可以理解,本发明不应被不适当地局限于本文前面所述的实施例中。
Claims (16)
1.固定组件包括:
一个有第一和第二主表面的柔性基底;
一个在柔性基底第一主表面上的压件,该压件包括:
一个压件正面上的夹固区域;
压件正面上的第一和第二结合区域,第一和第二结合区域位于夹固区域的相对侧,在那里第一和第二结合区域与基底的第一主表面结合;以及
基底的第一主表面和压件的夹固区域之间至少有一个物品,在那里至少有一个在柔性基底和夹固区域之间受压的物品。
2.如权利要求1所述的组件,其特征在于:基底包括一个纤维的聚合物品。
3.如权利要求1所述的组件,其特征在于:基底包括一个非编织的纤维聚合呼吸面罩罩本体,且其特征在于:至少有一个物品包括一个有弹性的带子。
4.如权利要求1所述的组件,其特征在于:第一和第二结合区域与基底焊接。
5.如权利要求1所述的组件,还在第一和第二结合区域中的每一个上有粘结剂,其特征在于:第一和第二结合区域粘结连接到基底上。
6.压件包括:
一个包括一个正面和一个背面的本体:
一个在本体正面上的夹固区域;
位于压件正面夹固区域相对侧的第一和第二结合区域,其特征在于:第一和第二结合区域中的每一个包括至少一个能量导向筋;以及
压件本体正面上的第一和第二槽沟,第一槽沟位于第一结合区域和夹固区域之间,第二槽沟位于第二结合区域和夹固区域之间。
7.如权利要求6所述的压件,其特征在于:在第一和第二结合区域的能量导向筋沿压件的正面伸长;
其特征在于:能量导向筋相互平行地定位;或者
其特征在于:能量导向筋沿与压件的夹固区域不相交的轴线排列。
8.如权利要求6所述的压件,其特征在于:第一和第二结合区域的每一个有多个离散的能量导向筋。
9.如权利要求6所述的压件,其特征在于:压件正面的夹固区域高出比第一和第二结合区域中的能量导向筋的峰部。
10.如权利要求6所述的压件,其特征在于:压件正面的夹固区域低于比第一和第二结合区域中的能量导向筋。
11.如权利要求6所述的压件,其特征在于:夹固区域包括一个有纹理的表面。
12.制作一个包括一个固定在柔性基底上的物品的固定组件的方法包括:提供一个压件包括:
一个包括一个正面和一个背面的本体;
一个在本体正面上的夹固区域;
一个本体正面上的第一结合区域,该第一结合区域位于夹固区域的第一侧;
一个本体正面上的第二结合区域,该第二结合区域位于夹固区域的第二侧;
将物品置于柔性基底的一个表面上;
将压件的夹固区域置于物品上,同时将第一和第二结合区域置于物品的相对侧;
施压于压件的夹固区域和柔性基底之间的物品;以及
施压于物品的同时,把第一和第二结合区域连接到柔性基底上,其特征在于:压件在第一和第二结合区域与柔性基底相连接,并且物品被固定在夹固区域和柔性基底之间。
13.如权利要求12所述的方法,其特征在于:第一和第二结合区域同时连接到基底上。
14.如权利要求12所述的方法,其特征在于:第一和第二结合区域焊接到基底上。
15.如权利要求12所述的方法,其特征在于:焊接包括防止焊接能量施加到夹固区域上。
16.如权利要求12所述的方法,其特征在于:物品包括一个弹性的带子,以及其特征还在于:基底包括一个聚合的呼吸面罩罩本体。
