Abstract

Description

炼钢炉用的堵塞部件
本发明涉及被称作“拔塞式转炉”形式的炼钢炉,亦即在从其出钢口中倒出内部熔融金属时能够倾斜的转炉。
操作者需要了解钢渣快从出钢口中流出或者已经开始流出,方能停止倒出钢。了解此点的通常方法是使用一个堵塞部件(俗称“塞子”),该塞子的比重小于钢,但大于渣,所以该塞子总是“浮”在熔融钢和渣之间的界面上。该塞子有一自由地位于出钢口内的下杆。当渣层接近出钢口时,该塞子的大头最后降落到一定位置,至少部分地封闭出钢口。实际上发生的情况是当塞子头盖住或进入出钢口时,材料通过出钢口的流动便大大减少。这便使操作者得以在钢渣本身开始流出之前,使大部分剩余的熔融钢液池流出,然后再将转炉转回去留住其余的钢渣。
但是由于钢出炉时形成的涡流,渣仍能在炉内尚存钢上面通过出钢口倒出。我们已经发现,如果在塞子头或杆上附加或结合诸如碳素物(即木材、纸板)的活性材料或活性金属(即铝)或这些材料的混合物,则将产生气体,从而在塞子和出钢口的周围产生起泡反应或扰动。这将起将渣从出钢口区的周围分散开去的作用。此种反应减小渣被卷入涡流,从而进入下面钢水包的可能性。由于渣塞的目的是使通过出钢口进入钢水包的渣减至最小,故此种发展提高塞子在实现其予定用途的性能方面的有效性。
按照本发明,提出一种炼钢炉用的出钢口塞子,其有一个大头,从该头向下伸出一杆,该杆设计位于出钢口内。该塞子头和/或该杆的上表面和/或下表面上有一由碳素材料形式的活性材料或活性金属或它们的混合物构成的层或套。
引起反应的该材料可在制造时附加在该头或杆上,从而使该头和杆具有活性。
所谓“活性金属”,其定义为一种金属,其在熔融钢温度下将蒸发或和钢起反应,从而使钢液起泡或扰动,但又不致使钢造成不能接受的脏污。适合于此种目的的金属是铝和镁。优选的碳素材料是纸、纸板或木材。
本发明可通过不同途径实施。但它的一个优先实施例现在参看附图予以说明。该图表示通过出钢口塞子的垂直截面。
图中的塞子有一金属棒1,该棒1通过一陶瓷异形塞子头2,然后一圆筒形陶瓷塞子杆3。使用时,该杆3位于正在倒出熔融钢的炼钢转炉的出钢口内。当(带有一层渣的)熔融钢的表面接近出钢口时,该塞子头2使通道缩小,趋向于堵住渣不让其进入出钢口。但是涡流效应可能将渣向下曳入出钢口。按照下文的解释,此作用将由于在杆3周围配置的一个碳素材料或活性材料的套4(实际在钢内引起气泡通过渣的上升)而大大减轻。可以额外地或作为一替代地在塞子头2的(在钢和渣之间的)下表面5上附加一层该种材料。亦可将一用合适活性材料制成的块或套6置于该塞子的顶表面7上(基本上位于渣内)。
纸板为一种层压纸和有机化合物。纸主要由糖聚合物的纤维素构成。它的一般分子式为Cn(H2O)n。据信在熔融钢/渣温度下,纸将放热地分解为许多物质,主要有碳(C)、水(H2O)、一氧化碳(CO)和二氧化碳(CO2)。该释出的C是固态的,并被钢/渣吸收。该CO、CO2和H2O都是气态的。该涉及的气体围绕着该杆上升,从而在钢内形成向上的气流。其效果便是使表面上的材料向远离该塞子所在位置的方向运动,从而形成一个围绕出钢口区域的无渣孔口。大多数碳基材料都被认为是按此方式反应的。
其他的活性材料可以作为碳基材料替代物或添加剂使用。类如铝或镁的活性金属是这些材料的例子。在此情况下,该反应是金属和渣与钢中溶解氧之间的直接反应。这是一种剧烈的放热反应,而金属的蒸发结果造成巨大的扰动和再次在钢中形成向上的气流。
虽然在每种情况下,化学反应有所不同,但总的结果是造成钢中的上升气流,该气流将渣清除出出钢口区域。

Claims (7)

1.一种炼钢炉的出钢口塞子,其有一个大头,从该头向下伸出一杆,该杆设计位于出钢口内,该塞子头和/或该杆的上表面和/或下表面上有一由碳素材料形式的活性材料或活性金属或它们的混合物构成的层或套。
2.按照权利要求1所述的塞子,其特征在于该活性材料在制造时便已附加在该头或杆上,从而使该头和杆同活性材料结合成一体。
3.按照权利要求1或2所述的塞子,其特征在于该活性金属为一种在熔融钢温度下蒸发或和钢起反应,从而造成钢液起泡或扰动,但又不致使钢造成不能接受的脏污的金属。
4.按照权利要求3所述的塞子,其特征在于为此目的使用的金属为铝和镁。
5.按照权利要求1~4任一项所述的塞子,其特征在于该碳素材料从纸、纸板和木材中选择。
6.基本上如本文参照附图所述的一种出钢口塞子。
7.基本上如本文参照附图所述的出钢口塞子所具结构的任何新的组合。
