背景技术

发明内容

当系统就IEEE1394总线而言,应当考虑到,其他控制和数据总线系统如通用串行总线(USB)、以太网总线或甚至并行总线如核心总线(Centronics bus)也可以替代1394总线而使用。
节点(即音频/视频设备)被认为是在总线上具有唯一地址的逻辑实体。每个节点提供识别ROM、控制寄存器的标准化组和其自身的地址空间。图1中所示的总线125的IEEE1394通信标准支持数字编码信息的异步数据传输和同步数据传输。异步传输是传统数据传输操作,其尽快产生并从源头向目的地传输数据内容。同步数据传输是实时传输,其发生使得有效瞬间之间的时间间隔与传输和接收请求具有相同的持续时间。同步传输的数据的每个分组可以在其自身的时间阶段内传输。
用于同步数据传输的请求的一个例子是从开放式电缆STB108到TV监视器174。开放式电缆STB108从电缆组接收调制并编码的视频流,并调制并编码视频流以生成音频和视频分组的数据流。这些分组通过总线125被传输,以在适当的时候在SDTV监视器174或HDTV监视器170上重现。IEEE1394标准总线系统提供用于请求之间的同步数据传输的多个通道。特别的,源标识符和目标标识符与数据一同传送,以确保被适当的请求接收。这使得多个请求同时通过总线结构传输同步数据。
配备有IEEE-1394端口的音-视频设备通常用作主设备,其控制其他音-视频设备,并通过IEEE-1394总线接收从他们发出的音-视频信号。AV设备104、108、112、116和130通过IEEE-1394总线125从各链路125a到125e通信连接,并可以根据已知的IEEE-1394协议与连接到总线125上的任何其他设备通信。然而,应当注意,开放式电缆STB108和HD-DSS112是具有总线协议的主模式类设备,该协议不允许从另一个AV设备接收控制信息。当总线125如图所示包括五个设备时,应当理解,总线125适于包括多至总线技术的物理极限的任意数量的设备(例如目前规定的用于IEEE1394的63个设备)。虽然未在图1中示出,但是,应当考虑到,HDTV监视器170和SDTV监视器174也可以通过总线125或IR发射机/接收机138被AVP130控制,并可以适当的通过总线125从AVP130接收数据。
AVP130是提供其他AV设备的相互连接并为通过IEEE-1394总线125或IR链路128a、128b和128c以及模拟信号连接123和124连接其上的所有AV设备提供统一的用户控制的STB。IEEE-1394总线连接器126用于提供到IEEE-1394链路125e的连接,以接收AV设备104、108、112、116的数字数据并向DVHS播放器104和TV调谐器116传输数字控制数据。AVP130包括IEEE1394接口132、MPEG解码器/编码器134、视频数字化仪142、IR发射机/接收机138、PCI总线146、声卡144、视频开关136、永久存储单元150如硬盘驱动器和包括中央处理单元(CPU)152、PCI接口153、系统存储器158、图象处理器156和软件学习模块154的控制处理器160。控制处理器160如下所述控制AVP130的其他元件,并通过IEEE1394接口132和IR发射机/接收机138控制所有连接到AVP130上的AV设备。
为了为主模式设备和传统设备提供集中控制,AVP130利用了这些设备的IR控制能力。结果,使用两种技术实现了总体集中控制。从模式类AV设备由IEEE-1394总线接收的命令控制,主模式类设备由各设备的IR接收机从IR发射机/接收机138的IR传输接收的命令控制。
作为一种典型情况,AV设备104、108、112和116的每一个都配备由自己的遥控单元。在本发明的典型实施例中,对传统设备或主模式设备的控制可以通过向AVP130记录遥控装置而实现。例如,即插即用模式中,当连接到1394总线后设备标识符由AVP读取时,记录可以自动发生,或者其可以通过向AVP确定设备种类或通过下载主模式设备、模拟设备或传统数字设备的命令组而手动发生。下载的命令组可以被存储在存储器158内或AVP130的硬盘驱动器150内。
下载可以通过例如AVP访问制造者的网址以获得命令代码或提示用户跟随菜单驱动程序而完成,该菜单显示在TV监视器174上,其指示用户按下特定的键或操作按钮。由按下的键和操作按钮得到的传输的IR信号由设备驱动器接收和解码,与特定遥控器的特定功能相关的合成编码存储在存储器中。
图5是AVP130用于为元件记录IR遥控命令的一些过程的例子。用户选择AVP遥控单元129上的AVP开电开关,在步骤510中,操作电源施加到AVP130和TV监视器174上。AVP130的OSD功能在TV监视器170上显示包括标识有可选择功能或AV设备名称的区域的主菜单,如图6所示。在该实施例中,主菜单的每个区域都标识有功能的名称或AV设备的名称和在区域的右下角的指定元件数字。标识区域的显示位置可以与遥控装置129上的键的构成相匹配。例如,带有元件数字9的区域相应于名称“记录”。因此,当图6所示的菜单被显示并且观众按下了遥控单元129上的标识有数字9的键时,选定了记录功能。
在该实施例中,当用户选择了记录功能时,在步骤512中,显示记录功能菜单。参考示出了详细的记录菜单的图10,观众选择“AV设备”(AVP遥控器129键区的数字1)。在步骤513中,观众被提示从设备列表的记录中间或候选的记录中进行选择。如果观众选择列表记录,那么,然后在步骤514中,列表显示已经先提供有各控制代码并已将各控制代码存储在存储器(如硬盘驱动器150)中的已知的AV设备。
同时,在步骤514中,用户通过如键入AVP键区上的ID数字或将光标定位在显示的设备的数字上并按下“输入”键而选择一个显示在菜单上的AV设备。当名称和数字被选定,同样在步骤514中,AVP提示在控制过程中向与AV设备相关的设备输送能量。如果设备是从模式设备,通过总线125传输命令,或通过IR发射机/接收机138传输命令。如果设备连接到总线125上,在步骤515中,AVP监控用于传送设备的能量开状态信息的总线。如果设备没有连接到总线125上,AVP提示观众如果设备打开就按下特定键。在步骤515中,当上电命令成功传输时,在步骤516中,AVP存储作为AV设备的正确编码的制造ID编码,并结束处理。如果能量开状态或观众响应在短时间内没有被接收到,AVP提示用户选择其他ID数字并重复处理过程。

VHS-VCR120的遥控装置可以以如前面描述的相同的方式记录,例如,从设备的预存储组中选择唯一的遥控命令组控制或手动输入并存储在存储器中,以在需要时由用户重调用。记录之后,当用户选择控制特定的主模式类设备或传统模拟设备时,设备的遥控器的预先存储的命令组被从存储器158或硬盘驱动器150重调用并被IR发射机/接收机138传输,其与AVP130的遥控单元129相结合,以控制设备。

参考图1,AVP130的输入端126被连接以接收从IEEE-1394总线链路125e得到的压缩的数字数据。IEEE-1394接口132连接到输入端126,以接收和处理数字数据并提供由固定长度分组构成的传输流(TS)。每个分组具有包括包括在其中的数据、同步字节、误差指示器和标识程序比特流属于哪一分组的分组标识符(PID)的标题。MPEG编解码器134被连接,以接收、多路分解、解码和将解码视频格式化为符合观众显示格式的视频。
在编解码器134内的多路信号分离器(未示出)扫描输入的用于同步字节的传输流并开始解码TS。多路信号分离器提取具有目标PID的分组并将其形成为由编解码器134解码为基带视频信号的列队流。在编解码器134内的显示格式转换器(未示出)将接收的视频信号转换为与选定的视频监视器170或174兼容的格式。MPEG编解码器134还与PCI总线相连接,并可以通过PCI总线将压缩的数字数据传送到用于存储的硬盘150中。用户可以请求将存储的数据再调用到MPEG编解码器134中,以如上所述通过视频开关解压缩和观看。硬盘驱动器150和CPU152可以用于实现与REPLAY TYInc销售的系统类似的个人视频记录系统。
视频开关136被连接以从MPEG编解码器134接收格式化的视频输出信号和从图象处理器156接收输出图象信号(如在屏幕上显示的菜单)。视频开关136可以将编解码器134提供的信号、图象处理器156提供的信号或两种信号的组合连接到分量视频/S-视频输出端162或RGB/Y-Pr-Pb输出端164。从音-视频设备104、108、118得到的压缩的音频数据被多路分解、解压缩并格式化,以在PCI总线146上传输。声音处理器144被连接以接收解压缩的数字音频信号,将其转换为模拟信号,提供作为输出信号的模拟信号。声音处理器144向输出端166提供音频信号。音频放大器178连接到音频输出端166,以放大信号,并将其提供到扬声器。
DVHS播放器104数字化、压缩并在磁带上记录视频信号或以14.1Mbps的数据速率从磁带上播放解压缩的视频信号。DVHS播放器104提供500线的水平分辨率和超级VHS(S-VHS)设备的3倍的色彩带宽。音频信号也可以用数字方式记录并提供高质量的声音。DVHS播放器104通过IEEE1394总线125a由AVP130的连接器126向IEEE1394接口132提供音频和视频数字数据。MPEG编解码器134被连接以从IEEE1394接口132接收传输流(TS)。MPEG编解码器134多路分解、解码和格式化转换的视频并向视频开关136提供视频输出信号。然后,视频信号被从开光136提供到SDTV监视器170和HDTV监视器174。从编解码器134得到的数字化音频经过PCI总线146被提供到在其中其被转换为模拟信号的声卡144,并通过连接器166提供到立体声放大器178。
图3是AVP130控制作为典型的从模式类AV设备的DVHS设备104的过程的实施例。在步骤310中,用户选择AVP遥控单元129上的AVP开电开关,使电源施加到AVP130和HDTV监视器170上,如上所述。OSD在HDTV监视器170上显示主菜单,如图6所示。用户从主菜单中选择“DVHS”(AVP遥控器129键区的数字1),在步骤312中,DVHS单元104的预先存储的命令组从存储器中被检索,并显示图8所示的DVHS104功能菜单。参考图8,用户选择DVHS菜单上的“电源”(使用AVP遥控器键区上的数字9),在步骤314中,电源施加到DVHS104上。

开放式电缆STB108为广播服务(模拟和数字)和包括国际协议(IP)数据服务(程序同步和异步)、IP电话通信、电视电话学和随选对话式操作的实时交互多媒体服务提供整体环境。开放式电缆STB08通过输入电缆连接107调谐到许多有效的6MHz输入通道之一从而接收多媒体信息。调谐的电缆管道的传输流(TS)通过1394总线125e被传送到编解码器134。编解码器134解码(解压缩)音频和视频信号。然后,解压缩的视频格式转换为匹配观众的显示170或174的格式。
设备108和112式主模式AV设备,附加连接到IEEE1394总线,用于传送数据和状态信号,它们还构成为通过各红外链路128a和128b接收AVP130的命令。由于开放式电缆STB108的主模式协议不允许在IEEE1394总线上接收外部命令,因此,本发明使用AVP130的IR发射机/接收机138的IR传输控制开放式电缆STB108。如前所述,开放式电缆STB108已被预先记录,其整个命令组存储在例如AVP130的硬盘驱动器150中。

TV天线103向NTSC/ATSC TV调谐器116的输入端提供RF输入信号。TV调谐器116解调和数字化复合视频信号并同时向IEEE-1394总线链路125提供模拟和数字化形式的视频信号和向输出端117提供模拟视频信号。如果接收了ATSC电视信号,调谐器116可以解码和解调格码残余边带调制的ATSC信号,以提供用于选定的电视节目的传输流。该传输流通过总线125提供到AVP130。设备116还向AVP提供模拟视频和音频信号。由于NTSC/ATSCTV调谐器116是从模式设备,因此,其被以与DVHS播放器104相同的方式通过1394总线125被控制。
高清晰度数字卫星系统(HD-DSS)接收机112连接到卫星天线,以从卫星接收MPEG压缩数字分量视频信号。(HD-DSS)接收机112解调调谐的通道并提供包括压缩音频和视频信息的传输流。由HD-DSS接收机112提供的传输流(TS)内的数字视频和音频信号通过IEEE-1394总线125传输。HD-DSS接收机112是主模式设备,可以使用IR命令以与上述开放式电缆STB108相同的方式由AVP130控制。
SDTV监视器174和HDTV监视器170通过视频和音频电缆连接到AVP130,以显示复合视频信号;S-视频(Y/C或亮度/色度)信号;红、绿、蓝(RGB)分量信号和亮度(Y)、色差信号(Pr和Pb)、(Y-Pr-Pb)。本发明使得用户连接具有不同格式和不同控制方式的AV设备并通用显示。任何需要在选定的监视器上显示视频图象片断的格式转换可以在MPEG编解码器134中执行。用户不必考虑到以该方式连接的音-视频设备的视频格式。不同的电视监视器也可以由AVP130用IR发射机/接收机138或1394总线125控制,如上所述。另外,当电视监视器被记录时,AVP确认方位分配和其显示的视频信号。如上所述,MPEG编解码器134包括改变输出视频信号的格式以与选定的显示设备的格式相匹配的格式转换器(未示出)。
软件学习模块154被连接,以接收和存储用户为实现特定的目的而常规执行的将各种元件的结构相互连接一起的惯用设定过程。例如,本发明的一个应用可以是观看选定的频道的电视的同时记录其他频道,并同时上因特网定购在选定的频道上做广告的产品。使用软件学习模块154需要的步骤将马上被执行并作为宏记录,并存储在软件学习模块154内。更简单的例子将在使用DVHS播放器104观看预先记录的磁带的上下文举例描述。就上述实施例而言,观众可以简单按下遥控装置129上的DVHS按钮以向AVP130、DVHS播放器104、HDTV监视器170和多通道音频放大器178传送开电命令。另外,单个按钮按下将使AVP向DVHS播放器104传送“播放”命令并设定MPEG编解码器134内的多路转换器和声卡144,以处理由DVHS播放器提供的信号。

1、一种用于视频信号处理系统的音频/视频平台AVP,包括:
数字通信端口,用于在所述AVP和至少第一视频设备之间传输控制和数据信号;
至少一个模拟视频通信端口,用于从第二视频设备向所述AVP传输视频信号;
红外发射机,用于传输红外命令;和
控制处理器,耦合到所述数字通信端口和所述红外发射机上,用于通过所述数字通信端口向所述第一视频设备发送控制命令,和通过所述红外发射机向所述第二视频设备发送控制命令。
2、根据权利要求1所述的音频/视频平台AVP,其中,数字通信端口接收来自至少第三视频设备的数据信号,控制处理器被配置成通过红外发射机控制第三视频设备。
3、根据权利要求2所述的音频/视频平台AVP,其中,数字通信端口是IEEE1394总线端口,其用于向作为从设备的第一视频设备发送和接收控制和数据信号,并接收来自作为主设备的第三视频设备的数据信号。
4、根据权利要求1所述的音频/视频平台AVP,进一步包括存储器,用于存储用于第一和第二视频设备的相应命令组。

8、一种利用音频/视频平台控制多个视频设备的方法,其中,所述多个视频设备的第一组包括相应的数字通信端口并被配置为从模式设备,所述多个视频设备的第二组包括相应的数字通信端口并被配置为主模式设备,所述多个视频设备的第二组包括红外接收机,该红外接收机对由包含在所述音频/视频平台中的红外遥控装置传输的命令做出响应,该方法包括以下步骤:
所述音频/视频平台利用数字通信端口向所述多个视频设备的第一组传输数字命令;和
所述音频/视频平台通过所述红外摇控装置向所述多个视频设备的第二组传输红外命令。
9、根据权利要求8所述的方法,进一步包括步骤:
显示用于选定的第一和第二组视频设备之一的命令菜单;
接收相应于所显示的命令菜单的红外命令;和
将所接收的命令转换成用于选定的第一和第二组视频设备之一的相应命令并向选定的第一和第二组视频设备之一传输转换后的命令。
10、根据权利要求8所述的方法,其中,多个设备进一步包括第三组设备,其不包括数字通信端口,但包括另一个红外接收机,该红外接收机响应由包含在所述音频/视频平台内的另一个红外遥控装置传输的命令,该方法进一步包括所述音频/视频平台通过所述另一个红外摇控装置向多个设备的第三组传输红外命令的步骤。
11、根据权利要求10所述的方法,进一步包括步骤:
记录第一、第二和第三组视频设备,以识别用于第一、第二和第三组视频设备的相应命令组;
将第一、第二和第三组视频设备的识别命令组存储到存储器中;
响应向选定的第一、第二和第三组视频设备之一传输控制信号的请求,从存储器中检索用于选定视频设备的识别命令组;
使控制信号与来自检索出的命令组的一个命令相关联;
向选定的第一、第二和第三组视频设备之一传输相关的命令。
12、根据权利要求11所述的方法,其中,第一和第二组视频设备通过数字通信端口向音频/视频平台发送数据,第三组视频设备通过模拟数据端口向音频/视频平台发送数据,该方法进一步包括:
配置音频/视频平台,以在选定了第一和第二组视频设备之一时从数字通信端口接收数据;和
配置音频/视频平台,以当第三组视频设备被选定时从模拟数据端口接收数据。
