Abstract
本发明涉及制造氧化物纳米晶体的方法和装置,该方法包括步骤:将作为金属有机络合物或挥发无机化合物的主晶格离子放进至少第一蒸发器内;将络合物或化合物转换成气相;利用一或多种气体载体和/或气体载体混合物将得到的气相迁移到至少一反应器的至少一个加热区,并输入一或多种反应气体和/或反应气体混合物;在1—1000毫巴气压之间,在反应器的加热区内分解络合物或化合物,以形成氧化物纳米晶体;在至少一个吸附收集器上析出氧化物纳米晶体。
Description
本发明涉及一种制造氧化物纳米晶体的方法和装置。
近年来,氧化物纳米晶体,特别是掺杂的氧化物纳米晶体-譬如用铕活化的氧化钇(Y2O3∶Eu)-在作为照明装置的发光材料应用时,越来越受到重视(US-A5455489)。出于这个原因,人们正在研究各种类型的氧化物纳米晶体的性能,以将其用作发光材料。该文也介绍了制造这种纳米晶体的有关方法和装置。
举例来讲,为了制造Y2O3∶Eu,人们可利用众所周知的气体冷凝技术,参见譬如D.K.Williams等人,J.Phys.Chem.B
102(1998),第916页。但这种已知的方法有个缺点,即:得出的氧化物纳米晶体的构成为严重的非晶形态,且带有单斜的晶体结构。可是,氧化物纳米晶体在作为发光材料使用时,人们希望它能以一种立方形的平衡相存在,因为那样的发光效率最大。
为了达到这一点,迄今仍通过一种附加温度处理(在约900℃时)使非晶结构或单斜晶结构转换成立方相。但是,这将会产生明显的晶粒增长,当颗粒大小超过约50nm时,立方相便以单相形式而存在。这也意味着,一方面,在制造这种纳米晶体时,能耗高且时间耗费长。另一方面,这种相当大的颗粒尺寸大大限制了根据该技术水平方法而制造的氧化物纳米晶体的应用可能性。至今,尚不能制造小颗粒的发光材料,特别是显示出高效率的直到20nm的颗粒。在进行可产生部分凝结作用的热处理以后,发光材料的晶粒尺寸被理解为颗粒大小。当晶粒尚未在界面烧结,但晶粒已经相互排列成行时,凝结便被分类为微弱级。相反,当指的是热处理之前的原晶粒大小时,采用粒子大小这个概念。
本发明的任务是提供一种制造氧化物纳米晶体的方法,这种方法可确保不用附加的热处理就能简单地制造出具有微小颗粒大小的、合适的立方形纳米晶体。
本发明的另一任务是提供一种制造氧化物纳米晶体的装置,这种装置克服了引言中所述的现有技术水平的缺点。
这些任务将根据独立权利要求的特征所述的方法和装置得到解决。
优选方案在附属权利要求中说明。
根据本发明所提出的制造氧化物纳米晶体的方法包括以下步骤:
a)将作为金属有机络合物或挥发无机化合物的主晶格离子放进至少一个第一蒸发器内,
b)将络合物或化合物转换成气相,和
c)利用一种或多种气体载体和/或气体载体混合物将形成的气相迁移到至少一个反应器的至少一个加热区,并且输入一种或多种反应气体和/或反应气体混合物(到加热区),以及
d)在1-1000毫巴的气压之间,在反应器的加热区内分解络合物或化合物,在此立即形成氧化物纳米晶体,并且
e)在至少一个吸附收集器上析出氧化物纳米晶体。
蒸发器的概念在这里指的是一个蒸发器系统,该系统主要由组分槽和所属的加热装置组成。
采用本发明所述的方法可制造氧化物纳米晶体,该氧化物纳米晶体处于热动态平衡相,其平均粒子尺寸最大为100nm,优选为1-20nm,特别是粒子尺寸为约10nm,并具有一种立方形晶体结构。这种氧化物纳米晶体的凝结可以很微弱,优选地,其平均颗粒尺寸达20nm。在制造过程中,可实现氧化物的立方形平衡相。立方形平衡相对于以这种氧化物为基础的具有很高量子效率的发光材料特别重要,这些材料如氧化钇(Y2O3)、氧化钆(Gd2O3)或还有相关的石榴石,如YAG∶Ce或(Ygd)AG∶Ce等。其它应用则涉及到YAM、YAP、或BAM和CAT类型的发光材料。
利用引起适当的反应,可以制造尺寸分布较窄的特殊发光材料。典型的波动宽度为平均粒子尺寸的上下2-5nm。
一般来说,这种方法也特别适用于氧化物纳米晶体或者氧硫化物纳米晶体,它们优选地在元素Y、Gd、Mg、Ca、Ba和Al以及其它稀土金属的基础上适用。
根据本发明所述方法的优选方案,在方法步骤a)中,将作为金属有机络合物或挥发无机化合物的掺杂离子同主晶格离子一起放进第二蒸发器,将其转换成气相。所形成的气相借助于一种或多种气体载体和/或气体载体混合物被传送到反应器的加热区。由此,不仅可以制造出非掺杂氧化物,而且还能制造出有掺杂的(优选地从活化意义上讲)纳米晶粒氧化物。在此,可实现直接将掺杂物掺入主晶格。
作为发光材料,非掺杂或掺杂的纳米晶粒氧化物可在低亮度或高亮度照明装置上得到应用。特别是在此应想到荧光灯、惰性气体(Xe)激发灯、显示器以及有机和无机的LED。按照要求,主晶格离子系元素周期表Ⅱ-Ⅵ的元素。掺杂离子系指稀土元素,如Eu、Ce或Tb。在使用金属有机络合物的情况下,主晶格离子(或者带有四甲基庚烷二酮酸根合氢的掺杂离子)的化合物能很好地适用于这种方法。例如,氯化物适合作为挥发性无机化合物。
根据本发明所述方法的另一种优选方案,第一和第二蒸发器温度均约为30℃-900℃。反应器加热区的温度约为600℃-1600℃。此外,使用惰性气体或气体混合物作为气体载体。在此,尤其可采用惰性气体或氮气或其混合物。氧或含氧的混合物证明可作为反应气体。
根据本发明所述方法的另一优选方案,系统中气体载体或气体载体混合物的流量速率为20毫升/分钟-50毫升/分钟。反应气体和/或反应气体混合物的流量速率为50ml/min-100升/分钟。
根据本发明,整个系统的气压保持在1-1500毫巴。
根据本发明,制造氧化物纳米晶体的装置其组成包括至少一个蒸发器、带有至少一个加热区的至少一个反应器、至少一个吸附收集器和至少一个真空泵。用这种装置可制造所需要的氧化物纳米晶体,以用做发光材料。与技术水平要求相反,为了实现所需要纳米晶体的立方形晶体形式,不再需要在反应器加热区之外进行其它的附加温度处理。
根据本发明所述的优选方案,蒸发器还有一个蒸发加热装置,它构成为油槽的形式。油槽的温度均为约140℃-180℃。反应器优选地实施为流量反应器。
根据本发明所述装置的另一优选方案,在一个或多个蒸发器和反应器之间分别配置了一个加热管。根据本发明,由此可防止转换成气相的金属有机络合物或无机化合物过早凝结。
根据本发明所述装置的另一优选方案,反应器的组成包括一个铝管和一个圆柱形的加热区。在加热区一端,反应器的内部装设有一个挡板。通过该装设的挡板,可防止反方向(也即与气相流入方向相反)形成对流,这样,便可在反应器加热区的理想区域生成氧化物纳米晶体。
根据本发明所述装置的另一优选方案,后接在第一吸附收集器上的第二吸附收集器和真空泵之间装设了一个过滤器。第二吸附收集器和过滤器可防止真空泵受到污染。通常,吸附收集器实施为一种制冷收集器。
下面,按照图示的实施例来讲述本发明所述的方法和装置的其它细节、特征和优点。其中:

图1所示制造氧化物纳米晶体的装置10包括第一和第二蒸发器12与14、带有加热区18的反应器16、一个后接在反应器16上的第一吸附收集器20、以及一个后接在吸附收集器20上并与之相连的真空泵24。在真空泵24和第一吸附收集器20之间安装了第二制冷收集器22。
实施例中所示的装置10被用于制造掺杂的氧化物纳米晶体,也即掺有铕(Eu)的氧化钇(Y2O3∶Eu)。钇或铕的金属有机络合物,也即四甲基庚烷二酮酸根合钇和四甲基庚烷二酮酸根合铕(Y(TMHD)3和Eu(TMHD)3)在第一蒸发器12或第二蒸发器14中转化成气相。络合物形成的气相借助气体载体转送到反应器16中。在该实施例中,采用氩作为气体载体,氩由系统的气体载体源34供给。在此,气体载体的流量速率可借助第一流量调节器26和第二流量调节器28调节到典型的20毫升/分钟-50升/分钟,优选调节到150-250毫升/分钟。两个蒸发器12、14的温度均约为30℃-900℃,优选为140℃-180℃,它们由蒸发加热装置产生,而该蒸发加热装置作为油槽的形式构成。
反应器16是作为流量反应器而构成的(图2),并且由一个铝管52和圆柱形的加热区18组成。在加热区18的一端,反应器16内设置了一个挡板40(参见图2)。挡板40用来控制反应器16内或加热区18内的对流。反应器16的加热区18的温度约为600℃-1600℃,优选为900℃-1100℃。
在金属有机络合物气化的同时,反应气体或其混合物从反应气体源32引入反应器16。通常,氧或其混合物被用做反应气体。输入管44将反应气体氧以流量速率50毫升/分钟-100升/分钟(优选为700-900毫升/分钟)引进反应室,该流量速率受第三流量调节器30的控制。在反应器16的加热区18,当气压为1-1000毫巴时,金属有机络合物产生分解,并迅速构成氧化物纳米晶体,特别是构成Y2O3∶Eu-纳米晶体。
第一吸附收集器20后接在反应器16上。该吸附收集器20作为制冷收集器构成,形成的纳米晶体在该制冷收集器上分离出来。真空泵24后接在第一吸附收集器20上,该真空泵24使整个系统的气压保持在约40-60毫巴。也可考虑整个系统的气压为1-1500毫巴。为避免真空泵24发生污染,在第一吸附收集器20和真空泵24之间连接了同样实施为制冷收集器形式的第二吸附收集器22和过滤器(图中未示出)。
这样制造出来的掺杂的氧化物纳米晶体,亦即Y2O3∶Eu-纳米晶体具有一种立方形晶体结构,而且粒子大小位于1nm与100nm之间,尤其为5-20nm。在此,它们凝结很微弱。典型地,Y2O3∶Eu是一种发光材料。这样制造出来的氧化物纳米晶体作为发光材料在低亮度或高亮度照明装置上得到应用。
图2在图中展示了带挡板40的反应器16的一个部分区域,挡板40装在反应器16内部区域38,也即铝管52的内部。此外,人们知道,铝管52的一侧可借助法兰盘42进行闭合。输入管44和46则通过法兰盘42的开口而被引入到反应器的内部区域和反应器16的加热区18。在图2示出的实施例中,输入管46将气体载体和主晶格离子的气态金属有机络合物送入反应器16,输入管44则将反应气体和掺杂离子的气态金属有机络合物引入反应器16。
图3示出了按照本发明所述方法,由装置10制造的纳米晶粒Y2O3的衍射图。相对于按本发明制造的Y2O3的衍射图,粉末状的Y2O3标准具有的纯度为99.999%,且晶粒大小约为10μm。该标准为具有足够粗晶粒的粉末,以便使其光特性与相应的单晶体光特性一致。从比较可以看出,按照本发明制造的Y2O3的衍射图和Y2O3-标准的衍射图其凸出是一致的。它表示按照本发明制造的纳米晶体呈现立方形晶体结构(如同单晶体),无须进行附加的温度处理。
对于根据本发明制造的纳米晶粒Y2O3和Y2O3∶Eu,可以看出,同粗晶粒参考材料相比,属于主晶格的吸收光谱端(位于长波端)向短波长(相应于较高能量)方向偏移了约为10nm。这样的结果是,激发的最佳状态取决于较高的激发能量。但是,发射特性仍然不变。这种特性值得从两个方面注意:
其一,提供一种可能性,以确定纳米晶粒发光材料的吸收光谱端,或使其达到最佳化。按照图4a采用Y2O3,它将从214nm(标准)偏移到204nm,相当于能量差0.2eV(从5.85提高到6.05eV)。粒子尺寸越小,偏移则越大,特别是粒子尺寸小于20nm时更是如此。图4a示出了在标准(平均粒子尺寸10μm)和根据本发明所述的粉末(平均粒子尺寸10nm)之间的比较。
其二,提供一种扩大活化应用的可能性。例如铕作为主晶格Y2O3中的活化剂能最佳地(图4b)发光。在使用足够的纳米晶粒粉末时,也可考虑其它的稀土金属作为活化剂。
Claims (26)
1、制造氧化物纳米晶体的方法,其特征在于,
该方法包括下列步骤:
a)将作为金属有机络合物或挥发无机化合物的主晶格离子放进至少一个第一蒸发器(12)内,
b)将络合物或化合物转换成气相,和
c)利用一种或多种气体载体和/或气体载体混合物将得到的气相迁移到至少一个反应器(16)的至少一个加热区(18)内,并且引入一种或多种反应气体和/或反应气体混合物,以及
d)在1-1000毫巴的气压之间,在反应器(16)的加热区(18)内分解络合物或化合物,在此立即形成氧化物纳米晶体,并且
e)在至少一个吸附收集器(20)上析出氧化物纳米晶体。
2、根据权利要求1所述的方法,其特征在于,
在方法步骤a)中,将作为金属有机络合物或挥发无机化合物的掺杂离子同主晶格离子一起放进第二蒸发器(14),并将络合物或无机化合物转换成气相,所形成的气相借助于一种或多种气体载体和/或气体载体混合物被传送到反应器(16)的加热区(18)。
3、根据上述权利要求之一所述的方法,其特征在于,
主晶格离子是元素周期表Ⅱ-Ⅵ的元素,特别是优选为Y、Gd的稀土金属以及Mg、Ca、Ba和Al。
4、根据上述权利要求之一所述的方法,其特征在于,掺杂离子是稀土元素离子。
5、根据上述权利要求之一所述的方法,其特征在于,金属有机络合物为主晶格离子的化合物,或为带有四甲基庚烷二酮酸根合氢的掺杂离子的化合物。
6、根据权利要求2至5中之一所述的方法,其特征在于,所形成的掺杂氧化物纳米晶体是发光材料。
7、根据上述权利要求之一所述的方法,其特征在于,第一和第二蒸发器(12、14)温度约为30-900℃。
8、根据上述权利要求之一所述的方法,其特征在于,反应器(16)的加热区(18)温度约为600-1600℃。
9、根据上述权利要求之一所述的方法,其特征在于,使用惰性气体或气体混合物作为气体载体。
10、根据上述权利要求之一所述的方法,其特征在于,使用氧或其混合物作为反应气体。
11、根据上述权利要求之一所述的方法,其特征在于,气体载体或气体载体的混合物在系统中的流量速率为20毫升/分钟-50升/分钟。
12、根据上述权利要求之一所述的方法,其特征在于,反应气体或反应气体的混合物在系统中的流量速率为50毫升/分钟-100升/分钟。
13、根据上述权利要求之一所述的方法,其特征在于,整个系统中的气压约为1-1500毫巴。
14、根据上述权利要求之一所述的方法,其特征在于,所形成的氧化物纳米晶体处于热动态平衡相。
15、根据权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,
所形成的氧化物纳米晶体的粒子尺寸最大为100nm,优选最大为20nm,并具有立方形晶体结构。
16、制造氧化物纳米晶体的装置,其特征在于,
装置(10)的组成包括至少一个蒸发器(12、14)、至少一个带至少一个加热区(18)的反应器(16)、至少一个吸附收集器(20、22)和至少一个真空泵(24)。
17、根据权利要求16所述的装置,其特征在于,蒸发器(12、14)带有蒸发加热装置,该装置构造为油槽的形式。
18、根据权利要求16或17所述的装置,其特征在于,反应器(16)是一个流量反应器。
19、根据权利要求16至18其中之一所述的装置,其特征在于,
在一个或多个蒸发器(12、14)和反应器(16)之间均装设了加热管(48、50)。
20、根据权利要求16至19其中之一所述的装置,其特征在于,反应器(16)组成包括一个铝管(52)和一个圆柱形加热区(18)。
21、根据权利要求20所述的装置,其特征在于,在反应器(16)内的加热区(18)的一端,装设了一个挡板(40)。
22、根据权利要求16至21其中之一所述的装置,其特征在于,
在后接于第一吸附收集器(20)上的第二吸附收集器(22)和真空泵(24)之间装设一个过滤器。
23、根据权利要求16至22其中之一所述的装置,其特征在于,吸附收集器(20、22)为制冷收集器。
24、根据权利要求1至15之一所述方法而制造的氧化物纳米晶体被用作低亮度或高亮度照明装置的发光材料。
25、用于照明装置的发光材料,它带有由氧化物晶体组成的主晶格,该氧化物晶体尤其是金属Y、Gd、Mg、Ca、Ba及Al的氧化物或氧硫化物,其中,主晶格用稀土金属进行活化,其中,发光材料由凝结很微弱的纳米晶体组成,其平均颗粒大小为1-20nm,且具有立方形晶体结构。
26、根据权利要求25所述的发光材料,其特征在于,与相同材料的标准相比,主晶格的吸收光谱端向较短的波长方向进行了偏移。
