透气率低的安全气囊缓冲垫
发明背景
本发明涉及透气率低的安全气囊。更具体地说,本发明涉及要求其保持充气状态较长时间的安全气囊,以便如果发生持续的碰撞事故,如翻车时,能保护车内乘员。这种安全气囊的一例便是侧帘气囊。
传统的安全气囊是通过将织物布块缝合在一起形成基本上封闭的三维袋子来做成的,其唯一的大些的开口(不是通气孔)是用来连接充气装置的。通常,安全气囊用机织织物制造,将各种各样形状和尺寸的布料缝合成所需形状的袋子。缝合的接缝对驾驶员和乘员的某种用途而言足够了,因为要求气体停留在袋子里的时间不到1秒钟。
这种制造方法不适用于侧帘气囊,因为通过缝纫工艺在织物中产生的孔会漏气,使气体停留时间降低到不能接受的水平。此外,为了得到透气率低的织物,通常需要涂一层厚的涂料或厚复合层到织物上,这是制造工艺中费钱的工序。
已有的解决此漏气问题的一个办法是将织物布块用粘结法连接在一起。虽然此法可防止或减少接缝处的漏气,但织物仍需厚厚涂一层或压合一层涂料,而业已证明这时织物难以直接粘结。
因此,希望提供一种透气率低的安全气囊,它在接缝处不会有大的漏气,同时又不需要在气囊织物或衬底的表面涂上或层压上哪怕是极少的涂料。
发明目的
因此,本发明的目的是提供一种透气率低的安全气囊缓冲垫,它能防止或减少沿接缝处的漏气。
本发明的另一目的是提供一种透气率低的安全气囊缓冲垫,它能减少气囊织物表面上必须涂的昂贵的叠层或涂料的使用。
本发明还有一个目的是提供一种透气率低的安全气囊缓冲垫,它有包在外袋中的内袋,因而形成双层气囊缓冲垫。
本发明还有一个目的是提供一种安全气囊,它的外面是廉价织物或无纺布,但具有低透气率的内垫。织物主要功能是提供强度,而不是作为给予低透气率的工具。
本发明的另一目的是提供包围在外袋中的内袋,形成的双层安全气囊缓冲垫能应用于驾驶员、乘员或侧帘气囊。
本发明的还有另一目的是提供生产低透气率安全气囊的方法,其生产工艺使气袋不再会以这样一种方式(即沿接缝漏气)被打孔。
本发明的另一目的是提供廉价的安全气囊缓冲垫和生产此安全气囊缓冲垫的方法,它能少用或不用昂贵的涂料或叠层,并解决与透气率小的安全气囊缓冲垫的制造方法及产品有关的其它问题。

图3A示出本发明另一实施例横截面,其薄膜内层热熔合在一起,而外层缝合在一起,最终合成的薄膜内层被放置在合成的外织物层内部,它们不直接连接。
图3B示出有充气控制区的侧向安全气囊缓冲垫,其外层的周边仅通过外层缝合,如图3A所示,其薄膜内层热熔合在一起,形成充气控制区,图中还出示位于充气控制区内的缝合接缝,该控制区域将外层与内层连接。
详细说明
图1示出驾驶员侧有低透气率特性的安全气囊2。此安全气囊由单独的二层材料制成,即内层和包围此内层的外层,这二层只沿接缝线连接。内层优选用薄膜材料制造,最好是氨基甲酸酯,且主要用于为安全气囊提供低透气率。外层优选用织物制作,主要用于增强安全气囊的强度。图1A示出侧帘气囊4,它同样由薄膜内层和外织物层作成。
在第一方法中,紧急安全气囊的制作是将单独的二层薄膜材料6叠放在单独的二层织物材料8中间,如图2所示。这二层薄膜可以由单独的二张薄片构成(如图示),也可由一张薄片折叠而成。同样,二层织物可由单独二张薄片构成(如图示),也可由一张薄片与折叠而成,此时二薄膜层叠放在它的中间,随后将这几层热熔合,或用其它合适的连接方法,做成袋形并形成内腔。在此使用的术语“热熔合”指的是将安全气囊缓冲垫的各层密封在一起的任何方法,其形成聚合物垫珠或聚合密封垫,该方法包括,但不局限于诸如射频粘合,超声波粘合,感应熔合,粘附那样的方法。在一优选实施例中,热熔合既可产生一对稍稍隔开的聚合物垫珠,也可是一条连续的宽垫珠10,形成安全气囊缓冲垫的接缝。
热熔合产生的聚合物垫珠10将4层全部一起密封,导致薄膜袋形成在织物袋内。可选择地,缝合接缝12也可以通过聚合物垫珠缝合在各热熔合接缝的边界以内,如图3所示,以便提供更高的强度。接缝12既可在袋的热熔合之前也可在袋的热熔合之后应用。由于缝合发生在如图所示的聚合物垫珠10内,因此缝合产生的袋上的孔在安全气囊充气时不会从袋中漏气。
此方案使薄膜袋在充气时能保留气体,从而防止通过缝合接缝的孔漏气,因为气袋充气部分在缝合工序中不产生孔。孔只产生在热熔合的聚合物垫珠之间或之中。外层织物提供强度,且与内袋只沿密封接缝连接。在第一实施例中,气袋的非热熔部分互相不连接。
已经用直径420米的未涂涂料的织物袋中的熔合聚氨酯薄膜袋作过试验,研究的试样充气到最高压力14psi,测量它的漏气率。40分钟后,气袋压力下跌约0.6psi。

在制造紧急安全气囊缓冲垫的第二方法中,两层薄膜材料一层叠在另一层上。和前面一样,这些层可由一张片料折叠而成,也可以由二层单独片料做成。然后将这二层薄膜材料热封在一起,形成薄膜袋。然后,通过将位于内袋接缝上聚合物垫珠外侧的外袋的周边缝合,如图3A所示,使外袋定位并包住内袋,并且如图3B所示,通过缝合充气控制区14内聚合物垫珠中间或外侧(非周边接缝),使外袋与内袋连接。这种侧向安全气囊也可在气袋中包括离散的通气孔(未示),用于消散能量。
在本制造方法中,外袋只通过缝合接缝与内袋相连,不通过热熔合与内袋连接。外袋既可通过将其各块片料单独(或同时)缝到内袋接缝上而组装到内袋上;也可先组装外袋,使其有一小口,再将内袋放入已预组装的外袋内以便与其连接。
熔合界面上的缝合接缝有助于将应力由聚合物垫珠外传给织物,从而增强气密接触抗漏气的能力。聚合物垫珠在熔接处冷却后仍保持其延伸性,有助于保持结构气密性。虽然在第二实施例中已将缝纫法作为将外袋与内袋相连的优选方法作了陈述,但应明白,其他连接方法也可应用,包括,但不局限于适当的粘结、压焊法等。
应当明白,其他薄膜材料也可采用,包括,但不局限于聚酯、硅树脂、聚酰氨、聚酰烃等,及其组合。同样,其它织物也可用于外袋,包括,但不局限于机织织物、无纺织物、衬纬织物等,及其组合。
虽然本发明已参照某些优选方案作了详细说明。但其它方案也可行。因此这里包括的优选方案不应限制附属权利要求书的实质和范围。

Claims (6)

1.一种安全气囊缓冲垫,包括:
基本上封闭的内袋,它用第一材料制造且有至少一条接缝,通过在接缝处形成聚合物垫珠使第一材料的相对部分连接在一起,从而形成基本上封闭的袋子;及
外袋,由第二材料制成,所述外袋与所述内袋连接并包围内袋,其中,在所述内袋上所述聚合物垫珠的边界内,所述外袋与所述内袋缝合。
2.根据权利要求1所述的安全气囊缓冲垫,其中,所述外袋沿所述接缝与所述内袋连接。
3.根据权利要求1所述的安全气囊缓冲垫,其中,所述内袋制造材料选自氨基甲酸酯、聚酰氨、聚酯、硅树脂、聚烯烃及其组合。
4.根据权利要求1所述的安全气囊缓冲垫,其中,所述外袋制造材料选自机织织物、无纺织物、衬纬织物及其组合。
5.根据权利要求1所述的安全气囊缓冲垫,其中,所述外袋与所述内袋热熔合在一起,从而生成一条使所述外袋与所述内袋粘结的密封带,并将所述内袋的相对侧面在接缝处粘结在一起。
6.根据权利要求1所述的安全气囊缓冲垫,其中,所述外袋和所述内袋粘合在一起,从而产生一条将所述外袋与所述内袋粘结的密封带,并且也使所述内袋的相对侧在此接缝处粘结在一起。
