Background
With the improvement of living standard, cosmetics become an indispensable part of life of people, and people use cosmetics more and more commonly, and more importance is attached to the safety of cosmetics. Most cosmetics are rich in nutrients required for microbial growth, and once the microbes in the environment enter, the microbes can quickly multiply, so that the sensory and quality of the product are destroyed, the health of consumers is damaged, and therefore, the inhibition of the propagation of the microbes in the cosmetics is important. The most common means for inhibiting the microbial proliferation in cosmetics is to add a preservative into the cosmetics, and 51 preservatives are used as the most commonly used preservatives in the current cosmetics according to the cosmetic safety technical Specification (2015 edition), wherein the parabens, the phenoxyethanol and the isothiazolinone are strong in sterilization capability, but after the cosmetics of the traditional chemical preservatives are used for a long time, the resident flora of the skin is damaged and inhibited, the microecological balance of the skin is disturbed, the skin barrier is damaged and the immunity is reduced, so that various skin problems are caused.
With the enhancement of health consciousness, people pay more attention to the green safety and functionality of cosmetics, and natural and healthy plant extract products are welcomed and favored by more and more consumers, and the market is expanding step by step. Thus, among the many types of bacteriostatic and preservative products today, bacteriostatic and preservative products derived from plant extracts are touted by numerous consumers due to their green, safety advantages.
